I needed to buy a new camera with a superwide lens feature. I had reserached the various cameras available and highly recommended. I called Glazers and they had the Panasonic point and shoot in stock. They are only a few blocks from my office so I went over to buy it. Well, I met the salesman Dion Baker and told him what I was looking for. He said it was a "good" choice but offered to compare it with other cameras that would do the same thing and offered more features foor the price. He took the time to take pictures in low light with the various suggested cameras and educated me on what I should be looking for. I ended up buying a great used Canon SLR with a Superwide Tokina lens for the same price as the new point and shoot I went in for to begin with. I was very impressed with his knowledge and patience with me and never rushed me along. This is the type of service that is rarely available anymore. I FREAKIN' LOVE GLAZERS CAMERA! From day one when I was such a wide-eyed boy in a candy store, eveyone in there has always treated me with such respect and honesty. The thing I love most about this store aside from all the employees always being informative, passionate and just their willingness to help you is outstanding but they all have such a unbias opinion on camera brands. I think I went in wanting to buy a Nikon or Canon coming from the XT1, needed something a more in the semi-pro realm. They really listened to what I was needing in my camera and they even brought out all the cameras that I was looking and we did some field testing. So, im on vacation. i walk into this place to find that their selection is nice. very cool to see a decent array of used brand name camera gear and neatly organized displays of new equipment. a few of the dudes were really nice but one guy (a heavy set guy with short hair) over there just left a bad impression for me. I came in asking about some new Fuji gear, and somewhere along the line I guess he felt annoyed that I was asking about items that they didn't have in Stock yet. So after I continued to browse alittle bit of tried talking about some film gear and asked about Canon FD mount lenses because they had alot of classic Nikkor glass, the dude doesn't even look up and just says "no" in a snobby way. in no way was this an appropriate way to treat a customer. the store wasn't busy or anything. maybe 3 customers and 5 employees in the shop, no reason for him to be so rude.. read more

I have spent thousands of dollars at this store in the past (at the old store across the street) but at this new location I received horrible customer service! ( but you will get good customer service if you fit a certain description or they know you ) but they do have a big selection and Quality camera equipment. I suspect it's hard to be in a business where lots of people come in for expert advice and then go home and shop online because they can save money there. Customer service is a two way street. I have had annoying service at Glazers at times. However, I think they are a fabulous establishment, with a knowledgable staff, providing the photographic community with a myriad of services, cameras, lenses, video, lighting, printing, rentals, computers... Glazers sponsors, supports and coordinates many educational opportunites, camera clubs, photographic associations, and workshops. They have worked very hard and do a great job supporting the professional photographer community, and the educational community of aspiring photographers and videographers. Drove from Vancouer, BC to Glazer's Camera store and bought the Tokina 11-16 F28 lens, the Lowepro Slingback 202 bag, and with the exchange rate essentially at par, saved over $230 before taxes. Contrary to previous reviews of lack of service, I found the sales personnel attentive, very helpful, and knowledgeable. Glazer's has found a new fan indeed. And the 2.5 hour drive down the I-5 was well worth the time to find a store like this for those photogs! read more

Great Selection, poor service. I've been in before and had good service, but it's always hit and miss. The latest time I went in to look at their tripod selection (quite extensive). After waiting for someone to assist for about 20 min, i found a sales person helping someone else (looked to be almost done). I asked them to come help me when they finished with the person and continued to wait in the Tripod section. I waited for another 15 minutes and then he started helping another person who wanted to buy a travel tripod w/ head, and ignored me. No "hey be with you in just a sec" or reason. I'd waited patiently, asked for help, and still they helped someone else. Who just arrived, before helping me. It seems like if you can find someone who's nice and has good customer service skills (while knowing the product) it can be a great shop, but less and less frequently do i find that person. I can get it online cheaper, all i ask is for an excuse to spend my $ locally. Some good staff and helpful people make it easy to support local photography. This wasn't during rush hour - plenty of staff in the middle of the day, but everyone "too busy" to help. I will miss having a local place to go and see great gear in person, but it's self inflicted so hard to say they didn't see it coming. I'll just have to head up to Kenmore next time. read more

If you're a photographer in the Northwest region, this is where you want to go. They have a very wide selection of equipment from bodies to lenses to other accessories, and their other two shops are on the same block. It's like a photography block party. If you go in with a bunch of questions before you dive in to a big purchase, like I did, expect those questions to be answered. Every time I've been there, the staff has been extremely helpful and friendly. They really know what they're talking about, and it's reassuring when you're dropping big amounts of money on equipment you expect to use for a long time. Love this place! read more

I love Glazers camera. Maybe that's because there aren't very many camera stores any more. I don't like that the sales department has (in the past) really catered to pushing Nikon and Canon as if they are the end-all to all things photographic. So while they are more pricey than I'd like (though probably competitive compared to any place that has a store-front and doesn't have a huge online sales percentage), they are also local. That alone means people should shop there. They do have good service. Admittedly I spend most of my time in the lighting department purchasing papers, gels, and other lighting type stuff. One thing that drives me batty is their website. I find it very hard to find the items I want to find with ease. I end up just going to the store (maybe their intention). read more

I'm going on vacation and I wanted to upgrade from my ancient point and shoot to something similarly sized but with better optics and speed. So, I shopped around online and read a bunch of reviews, then settled on a Sony NEX-F3. On a whim I checked out the Glazer's web site and saw that they had one in stock, so I thought I'd save shipping and buy local at the same time. I'm SO glad I did, because it turns out that there's a newer model than the F3 *and* I didn't understand some of the settings. Glazer's Will was extremely helpful and patient while he explained everything. He also gave me the information I needed about which SD cards and at what speeds I'd need for different types of usage (stills, movies, etc). I love shopping online, but for camera gear in the future I'm going to do my research on the net and then head to Glazer's (ideally when Will is working). read more

I'm about to buy a new camera, lens and entire lighting set up and decided to try Glazer's Camera first, rather than going with B&H. (where my brother, father and even my grandfather have shopped for years) Since I live several hours from Seattle, I called Glazer's to get advice so I could purchase online and I had many questions as I am upgrading from a point-and-shoot to a DSLR. Unfortunately, my experience with the rep on the phone was far from great. he really didn't seem to want to help and was very general and brusque with any responses. I felt like I had to pull any answers out of him and coax the conversation along. I really wanted to support a (relatively) local independent shop - but, just didn't receive the help I needed. In contrast, B&H has been incredibly helpful via email and has answered questions eagerly and fully, making countless suggestions that have meant I could make great choices with confidence. That kind of assistance is invaluable when you are looking to make a substantial monetary investment like this. I hope Glazer's takes this information to heart, and maybe I will give them another try in the future... read more

I don't understand all the complaints about Glazer's. They have the best selection in town that I've seen. Of course stuff is more expensive than on the internet. Duh! But if I don't want to wait for it, I can go in and pay a little more at Glazer's and have it that day. The staff is hit or miss. Most times I go in and they are super helpful. If one person doesn't know the answer, someone else will. Other times, not so much. I was in Glazer's a couple of weeks ago and they were having some big event. The ditzy woman who helped me said she was the owner or manager or something. She didn't know A THING about cameras or what they even stocked in the store. I was just looking for some neutral density filters and she didn't have a clue and kept trying to pawn me off on other,already busy, salespeople. Why hire a manager who doesn't even know what a neutral density filter is? Anyways, the man she eventually pawned me off on was helpful and it all worked out. What's the alternative? Ritz? read more

Hello, August 20, 2016 I purchased a replacement lens for my 35mm SLR. Today, August 23 I returned the lens and will not bring my business to Glazers after my experience. The salesman, Daniel, was curt, dismissive, clearly disinterested in my technical questions regarding lens choices and the possibility of purchasing a higher end 35mm SLR. Returning the lens was to fold - the frustrating and difficult attitude of Daniel and an issue with the lens. My money will not go to a venue when I have an experience as I had with Daniel. His attitude, approach and style was equally as bad when refunding my money this afternoon. I am a long-time photographer and have known Glazers since my days at neighboring Ivey Seright. This review is so long overdue! I came into Glazer's unsure about what I wanted/needed for a huge family trip that I was going on the next day. I knew I was out of time, so I needed to make a decision with no room for error since it was so last minute. I was helped by a fantastic sales rep named Daniel. Daniel answered every last question I had regarding various lenses, gave me a tutorial on how to use the lenses and even took the time to show me some incredibly useful tricks/tips that I didn't even know my camera could do. All of what he showed me was SO useful for my trip and beyond. I asked a million questions and he was so patient with me the whole time. I spoke with Mark on the phone and discussed trading in a Nikon D700 for the new D750. He told me they pay 70% of what they sell the used camera for, which would be a trade-in value of $700-800. I drove to Glazer's expecting to make the deal. When discussing this with the buyer, I was told the best he could give me was $400. Apparently the sales department doesn't communicate with the buyer. Needless to say, I drove home without buying a new camera. Never mind - I'll buy it on eBay instead. read more

Why do I even bother going back? This is not the first time that I have expressed to the management that employee attitude will make or break you. Apparently this morning my salesman di not want to be here. I came in prepared to purchase a new Nikon lens for $6,000 and decided to also look at one for $2,000. The salesman greeted me with a bothered look and said "I'll be with you in a minute". During the ten minute wait, 2 other salesmen offered their assistance and I replied that I had been offered help from that salesman. Upon beginning the transaction, my salesman appeared not impressed with a customer dressed as I looking at a $6,000 lens. During the entire exchange I could tell I was taking up his valuable time and I decided that my visit was futile. At the end our discourse, I gave the salesman my customer number and I left. I hope that he looked my number up and realized how many thousands of dollars I have invested in his store over the past 25 years. This is the second (and last) time I have been disrespected by the staff of this store. read more

Simply put, Glazer's is the best camera store in Washington state. The employees don't work on commission and are really there to help you. It's a low pressure environment filled with an amazing selection of camera and video equipment. The employees will truly go above and beyond to make sure you get what you really want. I honestly don't think that there is a store I like going to more. They are moving to a larger location across the street which I'm sure will be even better. Yes, the prices aren't cheap, but the reality is that nothing in the camera world is both cheap and quality, and Glazer's sells quality. Even if you don't plan on buying anything, it's worth just dropping in to get information from the incredibly knowledgeable staff. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

But they have a fine selection of Epson inkjet papers for printing your photos / graphics / artwork, and I got my color + black print cartridges for $12 cheaper than I would have at Office Max. The papers are pretty much standard listed price. If you need something in a hurry and don't have time to wait on a cheaper internet order to arrive, this is the place to go. read more

Glazers is excellent. They had a camera that was backordered on most major retailers (amazon, B&H, etc.) so I called to make sure they had it in stock. They went to make sure they had it in person, brought it to their desk and kept it on hold for me. They then called back to notify me that it didn't have shrink wrap around it. I didn't really care because it was still in the box and never had been touched. But they cared, so they gave me $300 off my purchase! That being said, they reached out to me to make sure I was satisfied and got what I ordered. I would recommend Glazers to anyone. read more

I can honestly say i don't think the employees know their customers very well. maybe they get ALLOT of less-knowledgeable individual costumers but the experience i had today was really awkward, the individual that helped me seem cool guy but the deal/offer he give me was REALLY BAD, it was even funnier because he really trying his BEST to be serious about it. they can easily judge from your appearances and which i thought it was so funny cause they didnt guess how nerdy i looked... i was in hurry and just decided to leave but seriously the experience i had today was totally a joke. i dont think they take their job serious... after all the store is very easy to find, and the employees enjoy each other companies... I decided to start a new hobby in photography and bought my first camera with Glazers Camera. I love how their staff is like a family and reminds me of a mom and pop store. Even though i purchased my camera in the webstore, i wanted to go pick up my camera and look around their store. I went inside on a Sunday and it was packed with lots of people and could tell why there were that many people. The workers there, to me as a newbie, looked like they were knowledgable. That gives us consumers a lot of confidence in purchasing a product that we have no clue in. I wanted to give a shout out to Mike Estes. He helped me out a lot through email and even helped change my order and made sure I got my camera the next day I ordered it. The pick up register employees were very kind, when I came in she gave me a smile and helped me pick out a memory card for my new camera and took the time to go back and get one for me. Also there parking lot is awesome. Also their selection in Cameras, books, accessories was amazing. It was like a museum. I would recommend anyone Glazers Camera, it was probably the smoothest transaction I have ever dealt with and a great experience. I will definately go back in the future. Thanks guys read more
