I came in almost at closing on Wednesday and the lady offered me a deal of buy a dozen get a dozen free (not sure if that is always a deal on Wednesdays or what) but I said I didn't want that many donuts so she then gave me a dozen for half-off. The lady behind the counter was super nice and she told me all the donuts they had for me to help fill up my box of a dozen! She also threw in some extras too! All the donuts tasted great! Stopped by after eating brunch nearby. It was mid day and the donuts look good in the case. I got an apple fritter, Boston cream, swirl donut, and blueberry donut. I thought all were kind of dry. Consistency not redeeming. It looks great. But donuts need to be a little soft or chewy or "moist" in their own way. I like crunchy but not if it's dry. I would not return. I will always recommend this business. The staff is always so sweet and the service is top tier. The do sell out quickly at times so I usually call ahead if I'm not in the area but craving them. It's became our Sunday morning tradition and now my three year old expects them on the counter when she wakes up. I looooove the fried cinnamon roll. Beware, it's huge though - half of it is in my freezer for when I want something sweet :-) I placed an order online for some gluten-free doughnuts. They offer gluten-free/sensitive doughnuts on the first Saturday of the month. A friend and I stopped into the adjacent bistro for lunch in what waa for many years La Bodega wine shop. There were 3 large empty cases and a menu notation of donuts subject to availability from Glazed Doughnuts next door. As we were finishing up, a most friendly young man carried in 2 large trays of assorted doughbuts. I jumped up and selected 6 of them - a blueberry filled, strawberry filled, key lime, a chocolate cream and a vanilla cream and one with a dollop of cream in the center. My friend and I each enjoyed the decadent cream, just sweet enough to please the palate and the incredibly FRESH flavors. These doughnuts are like hand made little pillows of sweet fresh baked goodness. As I was finishing, he carried in another tray with a lone coconut topped cupcake nestled among other varieties. I had to have it and it did not disappoint! Every bite was just enough flavor that it waa satisfying and not calling me to stuff down 3 more to keep the sugar fix intact. I love these doughnuts. The first Sat of each month Glazed offers gluten free & vegan donuts. They are all made with a vanilla cake base and then different icing of your choosing. When trying to walk in several times at 8am they'd be sold out so I finally pre-ordered to avoid the disappointment. They are $3.50 per donut and I tried 3. The lemon iced, fruity pebbles and Blueberry iced. I went through the drive through to avoid the craziness inside the small building. Service was quick and efficient. My favorite donut ended up being the lemon iced. The fruity pebbles cereal was a bit stale like it was sitting out for awhile. The actual donuts themselves were really good which is important. I have wanted to try this place for SO LONG! On Wednesday they have buy a dozen, get one half off. They were VERY sweet as expected I suppose. I enjoyed the coconut one. It was a vanilla donut with what seemed to be vanilla icing with the coconut on top. I enjoyed a few bites but it was just too sweet.. again I guess that is me. The kids enjoyed the fruity pebbles donut. The jelly filled donut was FILLED!!! Like FILLED! I liked the classic donut as well. I think I would have enjoyed it better if I maybe ordered ahead and had some custom ones to my liking. I cannot knock this place at all as it is super popular there and they always sell out. Emailed a custom dozen request Fri after 8p; I knew it was late, so my fault it didn't get honored not theirs. Fortunately, despite having to slum it like common folks (hahaha) at Saturday 10a pickup, there were (barely) enough tasty treats left in the case to make a panic dozen on our way to Busch Gardens. Cake doughnuts can feel weighty, often times can be a weird texture if moisture hits it. This doughnut was not. Not one delicious bit. The doughnut of choice? Blueberry cake doughnut. That icing was amazing. I am not one to choose fruit flavored pastries, but lately I've given them a go. The cake itself was soft and had a slight crunch. One of those pleasant crunches you didn't expect or know was there until the first bite. Heaven. They bake in daily batches so they can run out and close before you know it. I really do need to get out to Downtown Hampton more. My homegirl and I came up from Norfolk to experience these donuts we've been hearing so much about, and we were not disappointed. We got here about 45 minutes to closing so we knew we were pushing it; however, the lady who was working was really nice and provided excellent customer service. Luckily for us, they had a little more inventory than anticipated so we were able to get a dozen donuts for 33% off ($14 instead of $21). We didn't know what to get, but she was able to make a "greatest hits" box for us so we didn't have to choose. The donuts were delicious! Both the cake and the yeast donuts were on point! My favorite flavors were the chocolate caramel, the fruity pebbles, and the coconut cream. Overall, I will be making the trek over the HRBT the next time I have a hankering for some good donuts. They typically sell out so in the mornings, I call when they open and they put aside for me the donuts I want whether it's a dozen or if it's just one. I never sense that it's an inconvenience to them when I call to ask them to set a aside donuts for me even without payment.
