With his smaller company and no marketing side, you save so much overhead cost. His dad was a contractor, passing down a wealth of knowledge to go along with Steve's already lengthy career. His wife used to work in HR so even our unofficial estimated bid was incredibly detailed. Everything itemized and you knew where your money was going. You didn't just get this huge amount. Then in the actual contract, he includes a payment schedule. They use an electronic invoice service as well, making it easy to keep track of what you've paid. All laid out and professional. With someone being in your home for an extended period of time, it was important that we get someone we would be comfortable around our kids. He was great all around, great to talk to (that's how I know details of his family lol) and my kids are actually going to miss him and his crew haha. He's a tall guy but as nice and jolly as can be! Of course with any renovations, things can't be guaranteed because who knows what's behind the wall or under the floor. But he did the best he could to work with us when any unexpected cost came up. Financially fair in my opinion. We'll be using him again when we've saved up for our kitchen!

The quote specifically said PREP and paint and he did NO prep and the painting was very sloppy (see pics) When I asked him to fix it he said it would cost extra. In my bathroom, I paid him almost a thousand dollars to install a bathtub and surround, unfortunately that obviously did not include trim or caulking. (see pics) I paid him $250 to install a vanity which of course did not include installing the top or the cabinet doors (see pics). I originally hired him to put in the new sub-floor, he was friendly seemed to know what he was doing however after he refused fix the issues and yelled at me, between when I had scheduled someone to put in the new flooring, we ended up with another hole in the floor (see pics) because he did not do it correctly. I was open to him coming back to fix the issues but I have not heard a word from him. If you disregard my advice and hire him, please take note that he will not give you quotes until the day of (like 10 minutes before he shows up so you don't even see it until afterwards) and the prices are ridiculous, that mirror in the bathroom was $100 to hang. It did not need any cutting and there is STILL plastic on it so I have to take it down and rehang it. Also, after repeatedly asking him to make sure the doggie gate was up when he went in and out of my house, he allowed my deaf and blind 16 year old dog out and thought it was funny (luckily my neighbor saw him and returned him). He also yelled at me for asking him a question (I don't think I've yelled at the person signing my paycheck) so he obviously doesn't like animals or other people. I would just stay away from this guy, he does sloppy work and doesn't even stand behind his in-writing quotes. Getting an invoice from him is impossible, his record keeping is as sloppy as his work is.

The only word I can use to describe Mike's demeanor was arrogant. He walked around the house as I told him what needed to be done. He didn't offer ideas or even seem very interested. Aside from the main job, I asked him to measure some windows in a small office, and he said he didn't need to. He could measure them by looking at them . He also told me that replacement windows for this small room would start at $35,000. I've had several bids on those windows, and that's about three times the highest bid I received. In fact, that is the only bid Mike gave me. After walking around with his nose in the air for an hour around my house, he promised to send me a bid in the next week. I never heard back. My husband sent an email, a text, and called Mike, but still no response, no bid. The work done on my home so far has been done by an amazing finish carpenter from Rancho Santa Fe. He has, unfortunately, retired . I think that once Mike saw that I was not open to the crazy pricing he was offering, he lost interest. I think this company might be for you if you don't care about price or budget and will pay whatever bill they send you. In any case, it was extremely unprofessional not to send out a bid , or at the very least inform us that he wasn't interested in the job.

They always kept me in the loop with what was happening and did what they said they were going to do when they said they would do it. They finished ahead of schedule and on budget. And they're just very sweet people, nice people to have in your home every day for a month. The interior designer they brought into create design sketches and mock-ups gave me a couple really valuable ideas that helped me make the best decision when I felt a little lost about how to do it. Our bathroom is gorgeous and I definitely plan on hiring them again for our next project! I am so happy with how everything turned out.

We hired his nephew, Denny. 1 month was the completion time we were told. Beginning of August 2023 was the starting time and here is 2024 with an incomplete yard. Completion time is nothing compared to the rest. I really need no words... just look at his work that he's been proud of, each step of the way. I do not know how he has a license. He was not knowledgeable about certain things, was unprofessional, negligent with poor communication skills, horrible workmanship and was ok with obviously horrendous work. Beware of Denny Cohen. He shrugs off concerns, believes his guys over clients so doesn't even check on the concerns & lies about little things such as digging, dirt replacement, leveling, sloping, seams, and likes to raise his voice at women when he is asked about something that is obviously wrong. I was uncomfortable continuing to work with him and Realm Home insisted I do anyways. Even though they knew how the last interaction between us made me feel like crying afterwards due to his aggressive tone and telling me how anything he does-- I won't be satisfied-- over and over and over again. All we have asked for was proper completion. We were willing to accept so many things that were wrong but we couldn't accept these things you see in the pictures. I don't believe anyone else would either. A huge project that he could not handle. I don't want anyone going through this!!!! If he had only addressed our concerns when we first brought them up, instead of brushing us off... ***oh it's supposed to be sloped. What do you mean lumpy. We'll just brush that and it'll be fine. The seams? There will always be seams. That's what dg looks like. Dg will never be solid, the dogs will always leave foot prints. (if dogs can leave footprints, humans can leave bigger ones, so why would anyone want dg?). That's 100% new dirt, my guys said (even with video proof of the opposite) *** ... there was a huge chance that the project would have been completed and worthy of, at the very least, "settling".

Our project included remodel of the kitchen, master bath, and guest bath; conversion of an office into a powder room; adding a foundation underneath a two-story addition; conversion of a bedroom into a walk-in closet and laundry room; replacing the furnace; adding central A/C; re-building of a chimney; widening and paving a driveway; building a retaining wall along the driveway to hold back the front yard; adding electrical to the garage; replacing historic windows; and that's just the major stuff. Jon takes pride in his projects and the work of his crew, and in a large job like ours that can rack up a tab pretty quickly, he offers options and gives his honest opinions. He stands by his crew's work and takes responsibility if things go awry. We have recommended him to others, and we will use him again.

After walking the job site and answering all my questions with positive answers and him further stating that "this type of job is definitely in our wheelhouse" I was excited to have a company that could finally get this project across the finish line. I confirmed he had my email address and so I waited for the quote. 1 week, 2 weeks...nothing! So I call Amanda to let her know that it's been 2 weeks and I don't have the quote yet. She tells me, oh he had Covid and that's why you haven't gotten the quote yet. She said she was going to get in touch with the owner Jon. An hour later this is the email she send to me: Hello, Thank You for the opportunity to walk through your project site. At this time we will not be able to provide the type of services you are looking for or need for your project. We thank you for your consideration and wish you the best going forward. I was shocked at their response that they were "unable to provide construction services" as they were in possession of the plans for weeks and I was insulted at the "we have no need for your project" statement! I left a voicemail for the owner asking politely for a return call to explain a little better, honestly still hoping this was some misunderstanding. I also replied to Amanda's email asking for the owner to call me. That was 9 days ago on the 21st of Jan. They have ignored all of my requests to date. I have dodged a bullet not using this company, the last thing you want is to hire a contractor that cannot communicate.

We thought it would be great to keep the relationship going since they did a good job. Initially, Andy was very responsive when we were considering a large ADU project. However, when we decided it wasn't the direction we wanted to go and had a few smaller projects, he completely stopped answering. I wonder since it wasn't an expensive project like an ADU did he just feel he could brush us off because the money wasn't as enticing? He did say he would be busy last Fall 2022 and that he most likely can start in Jan 2023 but he never responded to my multiple emails inquiring about it. We were also supposed to set up time with their glass contact and he did not follow through. Truly disappointed in this company.

We had met with two other contracting companies and we were given a similar quote as E2 but to be honest, meeting with Frank gave me a totally different level of confidence than meeting with the others. He listened carefully, was very honest with us about expectations and I immediately felt comfortable. This is the first remodel me and my husband have ever done so we were nervous! Frank and Alex made very quick progress with our kitchen - it's a more complicated inspection process with condominiums so inspections were the main hold-up for us. Along the way they made sure we were getting the results we wanted and were quick to make changes if we had any requests. Alex was great to work with, he is very detail oriented and does great work. He and his team always left our house and the common areas in the condo building extremely clean (cleaner than it was originally, honestly). I always felt great greeting them in the morning, knowing that the place was safe in their hands. We ended up having a weird water heater valve issue from a previous installation that had to get fixed before our final kitchen inspection and Frank came over to offer his expertise on what he thought the fix could be. I was very appreciative because I wanted to be able to talk to the plumbing company with confidence about viable solutions. Frank and his team really went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable and happy with the work. When I moved into my condo, I wanted the hardwood floors to be renewed (not refinished since they…read morewere installed 1-2 years ago). The scope of work was to buff down the current top coat and then reapply the protective top coat/gloss. The square footage was about 500-600 sqft (hallway + living/dining room area). I called Frank and he was very responsive. I made an appointment for a walkthrough and he gave me estimates for everything I wanted done (although I went with another person for painting/other jobs). He was nice and explained everything very well. So his people came to do the floors (only took about 1.5-2 hours to complete) and he stopped by at the end to check on the work. Since the topcoat was oil based, I wouldn't be able to walk on the floor for 24 hours (which was fine because the entire condo was empty anyway). The next day, I went to check on the finished floor. I was very disappointed! There were dust particles all over so the floor felt bumpy/dirty (there were some places where it was ok but some places where it was very very dusty looking). Frank called later that night to see what I thought of it and I told him that I was dissatisfied. He went to take a look and agreed that it was unacceptable. So, he scheduled his people to go to my condo again to redo the job. I showed them where the worst places were and they said they would vacuum and wipe down the areas after buffing (I guess they didn't wipe it down afterwards?). They were in and out of the condo in 1.5 hours. The next day, I went to check on the final result. Disappointed again! There was definitely less dust particles but it looked like they buffed down some parts and recoated while other parts it just looked like they recoated on top of the existing top coat. As a result, you can see the streak/brush marks from the top coat (almost like when you paint your nails ... you put on the first coat of nailpolish but you don't wait long enough when you paint the second coat, and then you get that horrible clumpy streak). Also, you can clearly see that on the edges of the floor, there is no clear coat at all! I was very frustrated at this point because I had already scheduled other work to be done, so I didn't have time for him/crew to come in again to redo the floors. Frank called again the next day and I told him that I wasn't satisfied but I didn't have the time to have him redo it again. And with that, he charged me the price we agreed upon and my floors look actually worse than they did before they did any work. 2 stars: 1 star - Great communication ... will call you after the work is done and responds to emails quickly. 1 star - He did redo the work when I was dissatisfied ... but if you're redoing the work, it better be done correctly! But that's about it ... the work is the most important and they just didn't do a good job. I would not recommend E2 Remodel and would not use them again in the future.

The design was ours, but the work was 90% done by his team or subs (except the roof, retaining walls, and some tile work). We would do it again with Jorge! He listened to my wife and I equally. He fixed mistakes they made, even if just misunderstandings. He made counter-recommendations to help us manage costs. His primary team Jose and David were always helpful and their cleanup was exemplary. It is important to be fair and communicate that he takes on too many projects, so the timelines proposed were not nearly close. As they say, "Good, Fast, Cheap; Pick two." He was Good and Cheap(ish).
