This review is for Monique, whom the salon promotes as their "curl expert" and who is Devachan certified. I've already posted a detailed review of my experience on Google, but I felt it was important to share it here as well. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. I've never had a worse haircut in my life--especially from someone who presents themselves as a professional. Right before summer, Monique gave me an absolutely horrible cut that has left me embarrassed and extremely frustrated. I wish I could share a photo, but I'm too ashamed of how my hair looks. Now I'm stuck with this cut for the next year or so until the shortest pieces grow out enough for someone else to attempt to fix it. What makes it worse is that I had two consultations with her beforehand. I even asked her directly if she felt confident cutting my hair type, and she assured me that she was. If she wasn't sure, she could have declined--I didn't even have a formal appointment. Instead, she completely ruined my hair. The cut has made my hair nearly unmanageable, and I anticipate having to wait 6-8 months just to get it reshaped. In the meantime, I'm now seriously considering buying a wig, which could cost me nearly $1,000. Sadly, this is not an exaggeration. If you have curly hair, please think twice before booking with Monique. I've read glowing reviews about another stylist at the salon named Rosemarie, who apparently has great results with curls--but for some reason, I was sent to Monique. Was I a test case? Were they just trying to build her clientele? I'll never know. What I do know is that Monique is not a curl specialist. Her technique was sloppy--she didn't section my hair properly, and when I pointed out that one side was longer than the other, she dismissed it, saying it was "possible." That was unacceptable. I cannot stress this enough: if you have curly hair, avoid Monique. This experience has been devastating. read more

Let's start with I love getting my hair done and have gotten my hair done at plenty of places so I'm a bit of a hair salon snob. I look for places that are clean, have professional stylists, are timely, do a good job (ie don't overheat their styling tools or burn your scalp) and have a pleasant atmosphere. Glamvie checks all my boxes. In fact, I absolutely can't wait to return. I came in bright and early on a Saturday morning for a haircut and style with Rosemarie. Within 5 minutes of checking in, Rosemarie introduced herself, did a consultation (I only needed a trim and blowout) and had me getting my hair washed. She listened to what I wanted and delivered. The entire time she and the rest of the staff were so pleasant. Snip snip, I was really happy with my cut and blowout, and was done in about 45 minutes. No burnt scalp, not heat tools, no fuss! The salon is well kept and looks really modern, glam. They have spa rooms in the back for massages and manicures. The staff is professional and the salon has a great vibe. Prices are reasonable. It's like having a mini spa day. ALWAYS walk out feeling "Glamafied" by Rosa and her glam team. When your hair looks good, you feel great. Greeted by Hailey's great smile and enegry to start the visit sets the mood. All the hairdressers are super friendly and professional, and even though i have my preferred, Rosamarie... it's okay if she is busy and i can really use anyone else. Very disappointed with service. After getting my hair colored by Sanela, I was asked if I by the girl washing my hair if I wanted a blowout. I explained that I do not want a blowout, but since its freezing out, I would like to have my hair dried. Apparently, that meant I was to do it myself. When I asked another girl to have someone dry my hair,  they told me I could sit under the big dryer instead of doing it myself. I found that to be completely unprofessional.  I have never been told at a salon to go dry my own hair.  This is extremely unprofessional!!! Also, Sanela never even bothered to check the color. Forget the fact that she didn't care to blow out a strand of hair to check the color, she didn't even bother to come look after  it was done. read more

I gave 4 stars because it is a little pricey compared to other salons that I have frequented. You cannot beat good results though. I've been to Glamvie several times after my initial review and if I could I would make it over 5 stars. I recently dyed my hair purple and my hair is still healthy and wonderful even with the bleaching necessary to get my naturally dark hair to the vibrant purple it now is! I wanted my roots to be dyed my natural color because I am prematurely graying and know I would be lazy with the upkeep. Vlada matched my roots to a T. It's time to re-dye my roots and you could never tell except for the two or three telltale grays that are growing in. I've also gotten my hair blown out by both Vlada and Monique and love both of their results. My hair never stays curly and with their round brush special technique it stays for 3 days. read more

I was recommended here about half a year ago to Sanela. I was in desperate need of someone who would fix my horrible brassy balayage and Sanela saved me. She is amazing! She knows exactly what I want and comes through every time. Her hands are gold and her personality, forget about it!!! She's amazing! So glad I found her. As for the salon, it's super clean, modern and they literally have anything you will ever need. Bond perfume, makeup, alllll the best hair products. Everyone who works here is very friendly and accommodating. They'll always offer you coffee, tea, mimosas and pastries. Customer service is on a hundo here. I had meant to write this review after my first visit to Glamvie, I was that impressed. Since then I've had several more and tried other services so I'm doing it now. I called this salon in a panic for the first time on my birthday, looking to feel beautiful for a night out with the ladies. They fit me in no problem, introduced me to Rosemarie and even gave me a gift bag full of goodies! Recommended a new shampoo (which has been the best I've ever found for my hair type) and made me feel like a birthday girl. Fast forward to last week-- I used the services of Rosemarie again for a formal (read: bridesmaid in a wedding) up do and professional makeup with lashes for the first time ever. Talk about nervous on the latter! I met Stacey, the makeup artist. She really put me at ease, even with something like the lashes which I'd never used and I'm horrible with sitting still for eyeliner and mascara. She made it all effortless. I looked beautiful! Rosemarie, as she has done in the times I've seen her since the first time, gave me exactly the hairstyle I had pieced together from several pictures. I got compliments all night.
