Although busy, the stylist took his time on my hair which I believe deserves a 5 stars.

I showed a reference photo multiple times and had only one specification: please keep at least an inch of length under my chin. My hair is straight and quite easy to work with, so I was confused when he just started cutting from the back and didn't check in with me to confirm that the length felt right to me at any point. He seemed sweet and did apologize when I pointed out the major length issue (my hair now stopped above my jawline) and blamed it on the "wet to dry" transition. However, this length difference was substantial and I have a hard time understanding how a French bob could've occurred accidentally (he did request to take a photo of the before and after). This result was unfixable. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and requested a discount, management was kind and did grant it. While I appreciated the 30% off, I feel that I cannot recommend this stylist -- I now feel incredibly self-conscious and have to wait months for my hair to even reach a length that feels comfortable.

For my first appointment in June 2024, I scheduled in person about a week ahead. Doris looked at my hair, quoted me a price, and I booked. At the end of that appointment, however, she suddenly charged me more, saying my hair was long and I had a lot of locs--even though she had already seen my hair when giving me the original quote. My second appointment in June 2025 went smoothly, with no pricing issues. At my third appointment in August 2025, the same situation happened again. Despite booking in person before and being quoted a price after Doris looked at my hair, I was told after the service that it would cost more. After some back and forth--where I reminded her she had just recently quoted me in person--she eventually honored the original price. While the work itself was fine, I can't overlook this pattern of quoting one price and then changing it after services are completed. That's not a trustworthy way to do business, and it will prevent me from returning.

I loved the way my pedicure came out. Definitely 5 stars there but my manicure.. was a nah son for me. It seemed a tad bit sloppy as a few parts of my nail wasn't coated in polish. Nonetheless, I'll return for a pedicure!

What an amazing salon!!! I followed my hairstylist Raquel to this new studio in Bayridge and couldn't be happier! I made the trek out from 14th street in the city, I was a little worried about the distance but was so surprised at how EASY it is to get there by train. And To be honest, When you find an extremely talented and kind hairstylist like Raquel you follow her no matter where she goes! I was so happy, once again, with my color and cut. My blonde looks amazing and she takes so much care not to damage my already frail hair. If you have fragile hair that is prone to breakage but can't bear not to be blonde then Raquel is your girl:) The owner Nina was there as well working on a client and she also looked amazing when Nina was done ,and we all had a great time laughing and chatting while getting gorgeous! I will be taking the train out to Bayridge every 6 weeks from now on! Thank you 5th ave studio for being awesome read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I was looking for a new salon to get some highlights done it was my first time ever getting any type of color added to my hair. I was scared to try a new salon I don't trust just anyone with my hair, but I wanted a new look and decided to give it a try. I must say I was speechless with how my hair came out I love love love my new look I had the balayage blonde highlights and cut my hair in long layers. I look and feel like a brand new person the salon has a warm cozy vibe and Raquel is absolutely amazing! What a great spot. Welcome to neighbourhood newly opened Salon. Went there for my hair cut and i was amazed with their professionalism. Nina - the Owner is very welcoming. Compt-ed me with glass of wine and sweets. I am very picky when it comes to hair but she did a great job. Even though she had waiting time because of lots of ppl she made sure everyone got service they expected. Now decor!!! WOW!!! What a great addition to Bay Ridge!!! Black & White concept. One person throughout my life who was able to pull it off was NINA! 15 years I've been her client and not one disappointment! It's about time this girl opened her own salon! She is very talented. My hair was long, thick, and downright difficult to cut and style.. But Raquel did a great job! She cut a good amount off the length and then incorporated long layers throughout just like I wanted. I pull the top back into a clip to keep it out of my face which is how I usually wear it and it's cute! I Love it!! The Salon is nice, new, and modern. I got a nice cut with precise layers few months ago, a blow dry and went back today for a color (to hide my grays). I discovered 5th ave Hair Studio through a friend who highly recommended Nina as a stylist. As someone who has been living in Brooklyn for fifteen years, I have had a hard time finding a good stylist in Brooklyn. I FINALLY found my place. Not only is the salon clean, and pleasant to be in, but both Raquel and Nina are really talented at what they do. I now take my daughter to them as well. The people who work here are true masters, they tell you what would look great and what would not. they ask you about your hair concerns and recommend products. I am so glad that I found this place although it was purely by accident. I was in the area to go to Robicelli's bakery to try their famous nutelasagna when I noticed this cute and chic salon. I went in with the intention of just asking a few questions but ended up getting the best blow dry of my life with Raquel, I may not be from the area but I will definitely be coming back.
