I had such an amazing first time experience with Colette & Rosemarie!! From the moment I walked in, everyone was so sweet, welcoming & hospitable. Anton's Hair and makeup tried to charge me over $700 for my average length hair to be cut and have less than half of head highlights!!!??? Colette kept on promising me that my hair would be much lighter than before, similar to the platinum blonde color I showed her in my picture at the beginning of my consultation. She absolutely wouldn't let me look in the mirror until she was finished with the whole process. It came out brown with very ugly highlights here and there. Who lies to a customer and tells them it's going to be close to their desired color, then does even less than a half head of ugly highlights? What a con woman. read more

Anton's is a GEM. First of all, Collette is a master of color. I have naturally black hair going gray and she has found the best shade so that it's not too dark and doesn't age me. (I used to pay 2x the amount in Manhattan and it never came out so good!) Since I started coming to Anton's I keep have people comment on how great the color looks. Second of all, Rosemarie, has given me really flattering cuts--styles I can wear straight or curly. Layers just the right length. Third of all, coming here is like being with friends. These women are like the Steel Magnolias of Brooklyn. every time I come, just being here cheers me up. I recently moved to Midwood from Hell's Kitchen and was looking for a great salon in the area and luckily came across this gem! Wow did I luck out! Colette and the team are truly wizards. I walked in with very dry, frizzy long hair and walked out with butter! Beautiful blond highlights that were simply Luscious! All the moisture had also been restored to my hair. I cannot thank them enough! Along with being true artists, they are just lovely! I should have known better than to go to a make shift "beauty salon" in a brownstone! As soon as I walked in, I was approached by the Colorist asking if I was interested in "gaudy, rhinestone jewelry" that she was selling which I thought was "odd"! I went there for highlights in my hair and a haircut. The colorist put two separate colors in my hair and scattered them quickly and unevenly all over my hair. She then did something that has NEVER been done to my hair by "burning" the tips of my hair with the hair dryer and she told her mother as she was doing this and I thought to myself what is going on here? I was too tired from the night before to question her. Big mistake! Then I went to her mother who was the hair cutter and I had told her that I wanted to keep my hair "long" as possible and I did not want my hair cut short! She started cutting excessively and I wound up with chopped up uneven hair. I truly was so shocked, I just wanted to get out of there quickly! When I got the bill for this "mess", I was even more shocked. It amounted to over $425.00! I NEVER paid that much in New York City! I sent her an e-mail telling her how I felt and how unhappy I was with the job they did and the cost and I never heard back from her! I believe they had a salon in the City and they did not do very well and wound up in Brooklyn, renting this place. What bothers me even more is that she never acknowledged my e-mail to her and I am "WARNING" anyone that reads this "review" to stay away from this place or enter at your own risk! This was the "Worst" colorist and hair cut that I have ever gotten! I now have to spend more money to try and fix this color to even it out and wait MONTH'S for my hair to grow out to a decent length! read more

How I never discovered them until now, when I've yelped for neighborhood hair salons REPEATEDLY over the years, is a mystery. They love what they do and it will manifest itself on your pretty little head. FINALLY. A stylist (Rosemarie) that has precision, knows how to balance the weight of your hair, pays attention to how your hair naturally falls, knows styles that compliment your face, uses a real scissor (not a lazy stylists' texturizing tool) to cut layers. You know the tool, ladies. It's that scissor with all the teeth that breaks your hair and leaves split ends everwhere. I've cried, my head left shaped like a lightbulb, my hair looking like the love child of a mushroom and a Q-tip. Don't ever do it. And they never do. Rosemarie studied under Vidal Sassoon, travels to the tradeshows to keep current with skills, styles and trends and at 79 years young, is not ready to retire. Her daughter, Collette is a miracle colorist and can transform the dreaded "blorange" into natural caramel blonde love. Come to them with all of your hair woes and hair cutting mistakes. They'll make it better. Have a few laughs, drink a coffee and relax. Tips: Pay cash to avoid tax. By appointment only and open 3 days only: Thursday/Friday from 10am - 7pm and Saturday from 9am - 4pm. There are some steep stairs, and if you have difficulty, they have a chair lift for your convenience on the 2nd floor. My first experience at Anton's hair salon I got the Chi Relaxer. My hair went from a frizzy mess to me being able to let it air dry after the shower. I went to a different salon to get a natural balayage. My hair was completely stripped of color and ruined looking white/grey. My first mistake was not going to Antons salon to begin with. I knew i needed to get it fixed so I went to Antons Hair Salon. My color correction is beautiful. I could not ask for a better blonde. My horrible white hair went to a beautiful blonde. I could not imagine better results! All products used were high end products. My hair was dealt with love and care and I could not be happier about my experience.
