Client treatment terrible. I dod come by with no appointment and was able to be seen by Danielle. Haircut was OK.She was preoccupied throughout and I couldn't wait to leave. My jacket was in front on sofa and some preceded to sit on it! Nobody suggested where to hang it or asked if they could do it. An okay haircut but for the money I don't feel it was worth it. read more

This is my favorite, hair place in Bayridge, been going there for years. Danielle cuts and styles my hair, short cut, does a great job. Very friendly and personable. The owner Bob, does my hair color,I'm a two process, bleach dark roots, and blond toner, beautiful color. A neighborhood stable been there for decades. Their stylish are very good with all styles and colors. They also cater to all ages, from young and trendy to even mature. Has a loyal customer base as well. Very relaxing atmosphere. read more

I haven't been there in a while, but every time is do go there Danielle is great, I am traveling from toms river new jersey so sometimes it is hard to get there. I miss going there because no one does hair like she does. Hopefully i will get there soon. Jean Lapinski read more

I highly recommend Foilz. They do great work and took extra special care of my mom and me. We both love our haircuts. Thank you to Melody, Michelle, and Matt for your kindness. I appreciate it more than you know. read more

If you want ok this is the place. Haircut could have been better; shampoo person preoccupied. Yes, washing hair is not glamorous but doing a half-a** job and then popping up at "tip" time should be embarrassing. Not with her. Front desk person an excellent ambassador for the salon: hairdressers who were not with clients conducted a loud, ongoing gossip session about someone's very serious post-partum depression. Not classy. Not for me. read more

I've been going to Dani for my hair for a little over two years. I've gone from long blonde highlights to a short brunette Bob to 90s dark red layers. Dani is awesome. She always gives me exactly what I am looking for, while also being honest about what will not work. She's fun to talk to, friendly and funny. Everyone at Foilz is friendly and accommodating. read more

This review is for Christina. I saw her for the first time this past weekend and I will be back for more frequent visits. She listened tow hat I wanted, conversation was effortless and wait time was minimal. She did a great job and I love my healthier hair! Also, I went in with the intention of using a Groupon, but found that I couldn't pull it up. The staff was kind, helpful and patient while I worked it out with Groupon customer service. Great customer service at reception as well! read more

Annmarie is such an amazing stylist! My cut is always superb and grows out beautifully. Excited to get highlights next time.

Unfortunately I received a gift certificate for the holidays but my stylist is no longer there. I scheduled an appointment anyway because the person I spoke to over the phone said they could get the color combination but then I was told the next day that no one said this. Overall, I think the stylists seem friendly but have not had the best experience with management. I will not be going back. read more

First time visit with Christina was perfect. What a cute little salon - very homey, with brick walls - has an air of being there for a long time, and it has. Good sign. And great service! Christina gave me a gorgeous layered cut that created volume in my hair and the gentlest blow-out I've ever had. I don't think I lost a hair throughout the single process, cut and blow-dry. She de-tangled my wet hair with a comb and not a brush - if you're concerned about your hair breaking in a salon you know what I mean - brushing wet hair is extremely damaging. The color adjustment is beautiful. Will definitely be back! Thank you Christina! read more

Would never go back here! They are snobby and u can't change stylists if someone is not available. They are not welcoming to customers and don't talk to you! read more

Great, clean, fun, small hair salon with friendly staff and reasonable prices. Christina is a gem!

First let me say from the minute you walk into this Salon you feel welcomed everyone who works here is an absolute delight. Christina gave me a Brazilian and a haircut a couple weeks ago. She did such an awesome job that I went back today to have my highlights and my base color done. She listens to everything you ask for and delivers. She is an absolute doll and she did a phenomenal job with my hair. I've been to some of the best salons in New York City and in Bayridge and I am so thrilled with the results . She got all the gold out of my hair and achieved a gorgeous color blonde highlights.I would definitely recommend this salon and I would recommend Christina highly. read more

I always wait a few weeks after a haircut to leave a review. I have good hair. It can even hide a bad haircut. my hair is long and layered and I just wanted it cleaned up. When I washed it a few days after my cut, I saw that the layers were completely crazy. One side was different than the other side. The stylist left my layers much longer than I wanted and cut the Bottom length much shorter than I wanted. It's a completely different cut than I've ever had and it just didn't work. My friend recommended someone in Manhattan so I went to have them look at this mess. The stylist put a comb through my hair and lifted it up in places and asked me if the stylist who cut my hair was drunk! She lifted my hair straight up on my crown and the left side was an inch and a half longer than the right side!! I spent another $80 getting my original bad cut cleaned up so it makes sense again. I will never go back into Foilz again. My hair looks 100% better than it did before. There is no excuse for an experienced stylist to do such a poor job! read more

I highly recommend Foilz. I was going to another salon for years. And I felt I needed a change. But where? I didn't want to go to a salon where a shampoo person colors my hair. Then I remembered Foilz Hair Salon. Bob was the 1st guy who ever colored my hair. I know Bob and AnnMarie well. And their salon has been there for close to 20 years. The staff, old and new are artistic visionaries. Especially Bob, he has a good eye for color and style. My hair color is beautiful. AnnMarie cuts and styles my hair. Which really complements my color. I know you'll be happy. Go in for a consultation. New Year, New Look! read more

First time going to Foilz the place is very nice . I showed the colorist a picture of what i wanted.i wanted ash white so it can match my greys .to make this story short i didnt get the color i wanted it was very disappointing especially after paying $260, I wish the colorist would listen to the customer more. I will not return to this place. read more

I went to foilz salon on Saturday afternoon. I wanted a cut and a color. I asked for a color similar to my natural color with blond reflects, I got a color with red reflects, which ended up being nice. I thought the price was a bit expensive (it ended up costing close to $200) and the cut had nothing special to it. The whole process took 3 to 4 hours. At the end I gave a generous tip to the colorist and the hairdresser, I did not know I had to give a tip to the person who washed my hair as well and she made an angry comment. I am not from the US (which they noticed by my accent) and I was very embarrassed, I don't think I will ever go again. read more

I was concerned that there were only two reviews of this salon, but since it was in the neighborhood and I was desperate for a cut and color, I figured I would check it out. Veronica was my stylist and she was fabulous. She did a dramatic red on me, and after the first wash it was too bring and crazy, so she and her assistant put some toner on my for 15 minutes and BAM! A super sexy and luxurious red. She gave me a long bob cut that framed my face very well. Great blowout and styling as well, my hair looked like it had had a gloss treatment done. But why the five stars you ask? Aside from the fact that my hair can be tricky to color for any stylist the first time, the price tag was unreal: $105 FOR A CUT, COLOR, AND BLOWOUT!!!! Come on people where else are you going to find that in NYC?! Also, the assistant who washed my hair gave me the best scalp massage I've ever had. Make sure to bring cash to tip, you'll want to tip very well!!! read more

Foilz is right around the corner and I was feeling adventurous, so I made an appointment for a cut. The receptionist was nice enough when I arrived, offering me a cold Aquafina and chatting with me a bit. As I waited... and waited. There was only one hairstylist around, cutting one woman's hair. I was baffled... surely Foilz doesn't employ only one hairdresser. Even though the place was practically empty, I waited for nearly an hour! When it was finally my turn, I told my hairdresser that I wanted a razor cut. She responded curtly, "Oh, I don't do that." Um, what? To her credit, though, she did a very nice job on my hair regardless. But $55 was steep for this hair experience. I'm hoping I caught Foilz on an off day. But I probably won't go back to find out. read more

Foilz is definitely my new go to salon! Danielle was great and everyone is so friendly! A beautiful relaxing atmosphere and stylists that really listen to what you want and the prices are very reasonable. I came in last minute on Friday before Valentine's Day to get a blow out, I have long really curly hair and usually end up with the stylist tearing through my hair into a puff of frizz before making it smooth and manageable, or just ironing it completely flat. I spoke with Danielle about how I wanted curls and some bounce and she said she could do that as she blew it out and if I still wanted more curls she could add more with a curling iron (although that would have been an additional $20 or so), however once she got going I knew it would be perfect as is. My hair was never a puff ball of frizz, she used the round brushes to hold the curls in place before pulling it all out at the end and did it all in 45 minutes! A blow out was $27, a steal since the cheap Asian places charge me $25 and don't get as good a curl that stays in! I'm now on day four and my hair still looks fabulous! Thank you Danielle!! read more

I had this phobia of cutting my hair. Jen was absolutely amazing. She does pretty much all of my friends hair and I love everything from her color to her cuts and her styling. Foilz is a great salon! I go in often for blow outs, cuts and color with Jen A. She is a miracle worker... she has taken my hair to so many different levels- Blonde, Red, Dark Brown, back to highlights, and it always looks healthy and gorgeous. Whenever I leave I feel like the best version of myself. Everyone is friendly and gracious. The prices are reasonable- especially for a salon in Bay Ridge. I highly recommend this salon! read more

I've been going here on and off since I was 19. They've made me a redhead, a blonde, a brunette with highlights, you name it. I've been to top Manhattan salons and were disappointed in some, happy with others, but I always go back to Foilz. Why? Becuase a full head of natural-looking, flattering highlights is only $110, that's why. It's hard to find a Brooklyn salon that gives good color - and by good, I mean non-streaky, non-yellow or white, natural looking highlights. It sucks that blowouts are not included in the price, but for color that cheap (and good), I'm willing to pay the extra $30. I used to see Anna (she successfully and beautifully made my medium brunette locks a golden blonde that flattered my skintone) but I dont think she's there anymore. I now go to Helen for my highlights, and I'm a happy camper. read more

I was able to get in for a haircut and blowout with Mossimo on Christmas Eve. He's very talented and knowledgeable. I will be going back.

Amazing experience with Christina! I was so unhappy with my previous color and she completely transformed me and made me so happy! She listened to me and what I wanted and asked a bunch of questions. From the moment I booked my appointment I felt so comfortable. Everyone who works at this salon is so nice! I highly recommend going to this salon! read more

Being new to the area and passing so many salons (Bay Ridge is full of competitive nail/hair salons), I was overwhelmed with which one would fit my needs? Well, sure enough being so convenient location wise, I made an appointment for a wash and cut with Christina. She was incredibly friendly and outgoing from the first time we shook hands and truly had that 'Brooklyn' appeal going on which I loved. I showed her a photo of what I needed and she knew right then the choice I made was very fitting and knew exactly the technique to use. This salon is small but full of wonderful and sociable gals and the price is definitely budget friendly vs. others. Christina, I will be back for highlights and thanks VERY much for doing a superb job! I will definitely ecommend to any locals. read more

I love this salon! The staff is friendly and welcoming. Helen is a great! She knows how to use the color wheel so well. I've been to so many salons and they always made my hair look red or orange whenever I tried getting my hair blond. No matter where I went they couldn't take the red out. But Helen is a genius with color. As the base color, she put a cooler tone color. A dark color mixed with a green tone, but it didn't make my hair look green and it got rid 90% - 95% of the red out and then she added blond highlights, which made my hair look blond. Genius! read more

Got highlights and a cut from Bob and Annmarie shortly before everything was ordered closed, and I am so glad I did! One of the best experiences I have had, and the results were wonderful (for point of reference, I have taken to carrying a hat with me to salons just in case I don't like how my hair comes out -- didn't need it at all here!). I am moving out of the neighborhood, but will be back in the area just to see them! read more

CHRISTINA AND SAM ARE THE BOMB THERE. Woke up on Saturday morning, realized that I wanted layers so I called and made an appointment told them I can be there in 15 mins (since I live 5 mins away) she put me on hold for a sec. then told me that I was set. Went in, they took my jacket and offered me a drink (coffe, tea, water). They got my hair washed, then Christina came and I explained how I wanted them exactly. She picked up completely and started cutting them (as I asked in long layers). Christina after finalized everything and asked me if I liked them, I absolutely loved them. Meanwhile this all happened, Sam was doing another costumer's hair in the chair in our left. I was following it and she did an amazing job too. As a final statement, I will definitely be back there again. Maybe even get my hair dyed since they earned my trust! read more

I've been going to Christina at Foilz for my hair coloring, cuts and styling for almost a year and she is great! She is very friendly and always listens to what I want. I always take her recommendations whether it's for my coloring, styling or products. I've had my hair toned, highlighted, cut and styled with Christina. The first time I had my hair toned I didn't like the color and I called her the next day to get the color corrected right away and she gave me no problems. She is very easy to talk to and funny. She is on time with her appointments and she is so patient with me especially, I have curly thick hair and a lot of it. They are all very nice in the salon in my experience, they always offer you water, coffee or tea. read more

Had a fantastic experience here from start to finish. Extremely happy with my haircut! Will definitely go back.

Really impressed with the way my hair came out. I have very dark hair and wanted to go lighter for spring. Knowing it would be a progressive process, I feel sam really understood what my final goal was. She was attentive and dedicated the time necessary to get time through the first stage of my lightening process. I have been to so many salons in the neighborhood and am really really happy with the results I received. Happy to continue a hair journey with sam ! Highly recommended. read more

Happy with the cut and color, not the wait though. 4 hours for a cut and single process color. Good but not good enough to spend a whole day waiting, they are hairstylists not doctors. Plus I was ignored for 40 MINUTES after I arrived. Veronica is unprofessional and acts like she is cutting hair in her house. I would only recommend if you have a lot of patience. read more

I've been coming to Foilz for almost 5 years. Marci is my girl! She's amazing. She does exactly what you ask and does a great cut each and every time. You can safely ask her to get creative and you can be certain to come out looking spectacular. Want a dose of wild or straight "glam"? Schedule with Marci...and in the event Marci is booked, I've had a few of the other stylists fill in and never had a problem. read more

LOVEEEEEE this place! I was really happy with how my hair turned out and how affordable it was especially in this neighborhood. I would definitely come here again! Also... This needs to be said..
