1st time a this salon. This is the worst place in Bayridge. I had an 11:00 hair color appointment. The person came strolling in 15 minutes late. The woman washing my hair got the back of my shirt all wet. I ask for gel they ran around the salon looking for gel. I ask for a defuser he couldn't fine it. I ended up blowing my hair because he had to cut another clients hair. This place is a joke. read more

Horrible experience here with Mo. I came in and asked for a face frame highlight and was upsold to a half highlight! Ended up paying double what I wanted to and staying way past closing. All this would be fine if I didn't absolutely hate the color I left with. All I asked for as a brunette was not to have red hair and have a cooler color. All he had to do was say it wasn't possible for where I was. He didn't do that. He barely spent any time talking to me and reassured me saying "I can do that". When removing my foils he and his assistant looked visibly upset. I knew I was in trouble. I ended up a crazy blonde in the front, weird dark hair in the back and red hair for the majority. I get asked if my hair is fake! People say because it has so many different colors. He's a hack and made me hate my gorgeous hair for the months since I've seen him. I ended up going back a few days later bc I clearly didn't like it but he just made it warmer with toner and it looked more red. What he really should have done was given me a $400 refund. Oh also, the receptionist and him made it seem like I was unclear about what I wanted before booking the appointment bc they stayed till 9:00pm way past their closing. I felt horrible and was so embarrassed and apologetic. What I didn't realize is he upsold me to make more money and he and his receptionist should know and coordinate their schedule better! Paige is awesome. She listens and offers her expert opinion. My hair turned out great. Would definitely go back to her for a haircut. I was a little nervous about using a Groupon because of the other review, but it was fine. Everyone at the salon is super nice. I would give 5 stars, but there was a clear flaw to the experience, and that's the hair wash. The wash felt rushed; the woman had no real technique and clearly didn't understand that her part of the experience was just as important as the haircut. read more

I had standing appointments with Dayna, the owner of Devant Salon, for over a year. One was for my Bridal Hair Trial and the other for my Wedding Day. The DAY BEFORE my hair trial, I got a very nasty voice mail from the receptionist stating, "This is like the 4th message I'm leaving you (I only got this one message), we have to cancel your Bridal Trial for tomorrow." I have the message saved on my phone still because I was in utter shock. Not only was my very important trial abruptly cancelled on me, but I got no explanation, no accommodations, not even the word sorry. It was pretty much we are cancelling and there's nothing you can do about it. This left me scrambling to find someone else to do my trial, wedding day, as well as the rest of my bridal party (because I had appointments for them booked there as well). I was deeply disappointed with the way Dayna and her salon treated me, especially considering that I have had a friendly relationship with Dayna for years prior. I think this salon must learn how to treat their clients especially when you are dealing with someone's wedding. A wedding is not the same as a regular hair cut or blow out. Working in a salon myself for so many years as a receptionist, I understand the importance of trusting a salon with your hair/makeup for the day of your wedding. This was extremely unprofessional and hideous to see how a new business is being conducted. read more

I purchased a Groupon for my mother and I. I called in and made an appointment for the day of a huge party we had. The ladies who did both my mother and my hair was ABSOLUTELY amazing ! I went up to the counter after my hair was done and paid with the groupon's. Mind you, I went there with my mother and my best friend. Since my best friends appointment was later than mine, we still waited together. My mother and I finished our hair, I went outside for two minutes to make a phone call, I came back into the salon and waited for my friend. As I am sitting in the waiting area, I overheard the owner talking badly about my mother and I since we used the Groupon's!!!! Why advertise the Groupon's, but then get upset when the customer uses them? Completely unprofessional place. The receptionist was completely rude, and bumped my appointment while I was there for a lady who walked in with out an appointment. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. The only reason this place even received one star was because of the ladies that did our hair! They deserve 5 stars, but the owner of the salon deserves none. read more

I found this place on yelp and saw all the great reviews, especially for Paige. I figured I'd give it a shot. Well i wasn't disappointed. It's a cute place, very comfortable. The girl that washed my hair was a sweatheart. Paige was my stylist another sweatheart. I went in for a blowout, I showed Paige a pic of what I wanted and that is exactly what I got. My hair stayed all night (my hair always loses the curl) but not this time. So glad I found a go to place. read more

The staff at Devant was very welcoming and warm. Although my hair was taking longer than expected they insured that I was comfortable by offering drinks and snacks. I've been going to Tania for years, and I'm so happy she's now at Devant. She colors and cuts my hair perfectly every time, and all of the assistants and other stylists are friendly and professional. They don't overbook, so there isn't the usual, "sorry, we're running an hour behind" that you typically get at other salons. My mother and many of my friends are hair stylists/colorists, but I piss everyone off and still come back to Tania because she always gives me exactly what I want. They don't try to upsell services or products that you don't need or are bad for your hair, so it's clear that making the client happy is more important than turning the highest possible profit. I've grown up in hair salons my whole life, and I can say with experience that this is a great place if you're looking for a permanent hair studio. I've yet to see a client get out of a chair and wondered what the hell they were thinking, so it's clear that all of the employees are skilled and know what they're doing. I love this place, and I highly recommend Tania, and Devant, if you're looking for a new salon. read more
