Food is just ok, staff and service is super, clean and friendly. Flavor of pizza was ickie as was burger, fries had to much seasoning salt on them. If you want a quick drink, milk shake, ice cream and nice clean cool great staff come in

Had to stop and see Mrs. Gladys' spot. After learning about Elvis' mom on the tour and walking around for hours, I needed to refuel. I found the diner along the museum pathway to be convenient. It was decorated nice and the staff was well organized. I liked the car in the middle of it all (great for pictures but I was all pictured out) There were a lot of menu items to choose from. I ordered a cheese pizza slice and onion ring / french fry mix. The portions were sizeable. It was ok but I was hungry! I definitely think it was quality fast food / diner food. Fresh, hot, made to order.....nice pizzza sauce and crust, good crisp on fries and onion rings.

PROS: this looked like a 1950s diner. The atmosphere, the fake Cadillac in the place to sit in, and the juke boxes all throw you back. The food is good and is affordable CONS: it's cafeteria styled instead of waiter service and the staff aren't the the most social OVERALL: I recommend eating here if you're on the property, as long as you don't mind picking food with a tray and ringing it up at the register instead of waiter service

One of the booths was in a car, cool!

Food was okay. Hot dog combo decent. Pizza not so great, odd sauce taste. Service was good, employees smiled. Ambiance- cool, lots of seating. Coffee and pastry shop located in back.

I cannot complain. The prices were decent, everyone working here was nice and the food was actually pretty darn good. Seating was plentiful and it was clean. We came around 2:30 pm and service was pretty quick.

Sorry, Gladys... We came here for a quick bite just to quell our tummies, we were thinking a side of fries and onion rings. I wanted to try Elvis' Fried Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich but it didn't look appealing and the reviews weren't so great. We ended up looking at the pizza menu and chose to get a slice of pizza. They only had cheese pizza left... we wanted the Alfredo pizza but they ran out and were making more but will take another 6-8 mins of wait time. Alright, so we settled for the cheese pizza. The set up is cafeteria-style. One area is the pizza, another part were the burgers and sandwiches, there's also an ice-cream section... it was a little chaotic, no specific line(s) designated. The self serve section in the middle of the restaurant were non-existent due to Covid. To get soda from the soda machine you'd have to flag an employee so they can operate the machine for you and get you your drink. Condiments were behind the counter and if you forgot to ask for one before taking your food good luck in getting back in the crowd to get a packet of salt or ketchup for your fries. It's just too unorganized for me. They should change the restaurant name to The Hound Dog restaurant or something. Not quality food and service was slow, not efficient. The tables in the dining area were dirty too. I don't think Gladys would be happy to see this if she were alive today. Disappointed with our experience. Nice decor inside though. That's all. Fried Peanut Butter and Banana sandwich with a side of fries

Graceland is Elvis Disneyland with the food options to match, so don't expect some kind of fine dining experience. This is a food court with a variety of options like pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers etc- but of course we went right to the peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I liked that there was an alternative to the real deal, fried in bacon grease, with just butter, as I'm a vegetarian- apologies to The King. They have Coke Freestyle machines which would've probably rocked EP's world if he was still with us. I am not sure that this is the most fitting tribute to Gladys Presley but it seems to be the simplest meal option on the premises as it offers a direct exit back into the Graceland museum area.

    Do they take reservations?

Is the restaurant pricey, or is it a decent cost?

The sandwich itself was about $11. The whole Graceland experience is pretty pricey as a whole, so be ready to splurge. Hope you're an Elvis fan!

We spent our first night in the state in Memphis and were ready for some good Southern food. We had the ribs, barbecue, beans, sweet tea, and a cold beer--and everything hit the spot! The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the sweet tea was the perfect introduction to the South. The service was great, the wait was minimal, and our food came out so quickly it was almost like they were waiting for us to arrive! The atmosphere was lively with that great Memphis energy--a little loud, but not overwhelming. There was something special about sitting down to Memphis barbecue after driving all the way from California and realizing, "We made it to Tennessee!" I ordered the ribs dry with the sauce on the side, and they were absolutely delicious! They were packed with flavor and literally falling off the bone. The baked beans and turnip greens were also extremely good and definitely worth trying. Overall, I had a wonderful experience from the food to the atmosphere and service. I'm definitely glad I gave this spot a try, and I would absolutely recommend Blues City Cafe if you're looking for good barbecue and a great atmosphere!

Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city. Later during the meal, he admits that Momma's is one of his spots, so that's saying a lot. It sort of looked like another bar/restaurant from the outside, but they have a nice outdoor patio overlooking an old decrepit building which is at least some scenery. Once inside, you'll quickly see it's highly decorated and has a claim to be one of the only trucker themed bars in the US. Inside is decked out to the ceilings with signs, neon, old mirrors, collectibles, and many other items. I swear it looks like it's been in business for 30+ years, but my client said only a couple of years. I looked over the basic menu and saw burgers, breakfast, salads, sandwiches, a famous pork chop, wings and a few other items. The client and my colleague quickly ordered devilled eggs, cheese curds, and chili cheese fries. The first two apps were really good, I didn't try the fries though. They had a burger of the day, and a food special of the day, but I settled on the wings. With those I chose the 10 pc, Buffalo with dry rub, smoked. Kind of a weird combination since most people usually order dry here apparently, but I like saucy wings. When they come out, they are huge and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish them. I think I could only eat 6-7. My colleague had a ribeye steak salad which was a protein bomb he loved, and my 2 clients ordered a big rig grilled cheese which he also loved and a fried chicken sandwich (firebird) which looked really good. With the invited experience the food was hot and fresh because we are featured guest. However, even with food togo there is a reasonable hottness that stays with fresh cooked food. I ordered a Cobb salad with fried chicken and a burger with wedge fries at a lil after 5:00p and text to pick up was 5:21p. I was there to pick up at 5:28p. I walked in and stood in the entrance, near make shift board hostess stand, not sure but to my left was a hostess counting money, a guy at a kiosk eating with an apron on and the busy bartender. The hostess saw me, smiled and finished talking with guy at kiosk, they talk briefly until he sees me then walks over. I grab the order and feel no warmth. I figure the buger on top of salad maybe but nope, sure enough I get home and it's old and the fried chicken on the cobb salad is frozen. It was dried out and reheated. The amount of blue cheese was insane the lettuce was not fresh. The cheese on the burger was two different colors, the toppings looked old as well. $45 for a salad and burger, trying to support our local spots and the inconsistency is appalling. The burger was so good and fresh at the invited event only for me to remember it, and want to go back months later. The I pay my hard earned money, use my expensive gas to drive from East Memphis to Downtown and get a frozen breaded chicken patty on a salad and an old burger. If my feelings ain't deeply hurt because why are you not cooking real chicken breast?

This was probably the worst service I've ever had. Everything except getting seated took at least four times what it should have. So why five stars? My fiancé and I agree that this is some of the absolute greatest food we've ever had in our lives. We ate well past the point of being full and (consciously and willingly) compromised our dinner because of how delicious the food was. Seven months later, I'm still thinking about this meal. We had the biscuit board, the biscuit bake, and Pioneer Pancakes. I am devastated and almost positive that unless I travel back to Sugar Grits in Memphis, I'll never have a breakfast (or meal) this utterly mind blowing again. I sincerely hope the service improves because this is what food should be. I would gladly wait twice as long as I did just to taste this food all over again. But since I hope this place stays open, I need the service to get better. If you're planning on coming, make sure you don't have plans afterwards. Not just because of the service time, but because you'll be too gleefully full to move. Without the extraordinary quality of the food we received, this would have been the easiest one star of my life. Instead, this is the easiest five star I'll ever write. Let's start with the logistics: this place is tiny, and the "system" they have going on is pure chaos. You order at the counter, they hand you a number, and then employees just aggressively shout numbers out into a crowded room. To make matters worse, people ordering to-go just hog the limited tables meant for dine-in customers while they wait. Management desperately needs to hand out table flags, text people when it's ready, or something, because the current setup is a bottleneck. Between the crowd and the open kitchen, expect to leave the building smelling straight-up like bacon grease. Because they were slammed, it took an absolute eternity for my food to hit the table. If you are on a tight schedule to get out of town, this is not the move. Now, the saving grace is the food--the kitchen definitely has soul. I ordered the fish and grits, and being hardheaded, I added a side of four shrimp just to compare. Learn from my mistake: just stick to the fish and grits! The fried catfish was seasoned to absolute perfection, piping hot, and the grits were incredibly creamy. The shrimp were okay, but not worth the extra cash. Honestly, the food is genuinely good Southern comfort food, but it is heavily overpriced for the tiny portion sizes and the chaotic, cramped experience. I'd probably only ever come back for a call-ahead to-go order, and only if I had zero time constraints.

I eventually learned from another customer that it was a seat-yourself establishment. Interesting! LOL. However, the moment I sat down, someone came right over to take my order. Another thing I appreciated was the cleanliness. Both the dining area and restroom were clean and well-maintained.
