I've been here on several occasions when I've needed home related solutions and have always had…read moreexcellent customer service. This time was no exception and I received exactly the personalized service I've come to expect from this store. This is a seemingly small store that is larger than anticipated because it extends far beyond what can be seen from the parking lot. Most importantly, it has the best customer service of any home improvement store I've ever experienced. I have been given great guidance in the past with paint and cabinet pulls. This time I was in need of wire to keep a wooden fence closed shut, as the gate would frequently open due to weather conditions or kids having fun. My concern was keeping the fence gate closed so we could let our dog out in the yard without concerns about her escaping from an open gate. Andrew listened to me carefully and helped me through the whole process of selecting wire and a lock to ensure my dog would be safe. I really appreciated that he was professional, practical and helpful. Thank you Andrew! I truly love this store and find the customer service far superior to what you would encounter at one of the major big box home improvement stores. I have also found their prices to be fair. Highly recommend!!

New owners have expanded their selection, and unfortunately have expanded their prices even more…read more.. . Recently stopped in after they took over and shopped several items I was interested in - 1/4" plastic compression valve was $14.99, almost double price at Homies. spark plugs I used to get for $2.79 are now $4.89, 6" Crescent adjustable wrench $24.99 - usually $15 or less anywhere else. Even a simple foam gardening kneeling pad was nearly 20 bucks for something that looks like it would be sold at a dollar store! Local hardware stores have always been a treasure, in my opinion, but these huge prices hikes make it much harder to shop here - unless it's an emergency or something small like a random nut or bolt.

I know nothing about home repair and maintenance. Not a damn thing. That didn't stop me from buying…read morea house. And houses need work. There are some projects that are larger, which require professionals. But dammit, some things I should be able to do myself, even if I lack the knowledge or the tools. But going to the big box home stores fills me with a sense of dread. They are overwhelmingly large, it's hard to find anyone who can help you, and the whole experience leaves me drained, dizzy, and nauseated. So I had what I considered a fairly clever idea. Why don't I just call the small, local, neighborhood hardware store, and see if they can help me solve my minor home repair and maintenance challenges? I'll confess that I called another store first before reaching out to Jack's. But it was at Jack's where I found the help, patience, and expertise that I so desperately needed! Project number one was removing the gunk from between brick pavers on my patio, filling them with silicone sand, and other spring yard maintenance. I had no tools beyond the phone in my hand. But Dan, on the other end of the line, walked me through the tools and equipment I would need. He told me the prices, took my order and payment over the phone, and had everything ready for a semi-contactless pick up! That went so well, I returned for project number two, replacing the window well covers that had cracked. Now I am the proud owner of my very first ratchet set! At least, I think that's what it was called. I thought I was going to need some power tool to do the job, and was prepared to drop a lot of money, but I walked out with a bill of about $30... and a Twinkie. Don't judge. It was for my daughter. Needless to say, I have no intention of ever setting foot again in one of those big box home stores. I have Jack's, and it's fantastic!
