We ate a Saturday lunch there today and had the chicken flauta plate, Stacy's plate and sopapillas. Ordered a Diet Coke and got a Mr Pibb, or something. Not the same thing. A woman a couple tables behind me apparently didn't like the Diet Coke she got in the mix-up, either. The food took a while to arrive, but slow service seems to be a common thread in these reviews. The food was very good. The sopapillas arrived with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which surprised my lactose-intolerant wife. So I had to eat all the ice cream. Score! read more

Jim his son Nick and I (John) came on a night that was very busy. That did not stop from getting seated quickly with our drinks. Nick as always can't decide what to order so the nice waitress had to come back twice! I had the triple burrito plater, Jim had some type of combo plate and Nick the same as I did. The only thing better than the food was the bill! We left a good sized tip because she did a great job making us feel like were the only ones that mattered. This is a real South Omaha restaurant with a real South Omaha feel to it. I go here a lot, the food is amazing. You could open the menu and randomly pick something and you won't be dissapointed. They use Grade A beef and its pretty good mix of people you see dining here. The prices are very fair and the staff are friendly. This is the best tex-mex in Omaha. Period. Food is great. Value is great. People are great. By the way...someone explain the review from Calvin in 2012 that says it is delicious, but then gives them two stars. Not sure Calvin understands what stars are. This place has good tacos but too bad the service is horrible. Does not matter if its busy or not still the same crappy service. Have been here a number of times and thought we would give them another chance. Went to lunch with the wife and sat there while several waitresses walked by us. Did not get served until we finally asked "Where is our waitress??" We got up and left and went Sam's Leon up the street. Better service and just as good food. read more

My rating applies to Dollar Taco Thursdays only! The tacos are fantastic, the deal is unbeatable, and the service is prompt. This is a favorite location to take my friends from work but can make for a bit of a lethargic afternoon if you overdo it (not that you would regret it). If you would like to try something besides the tacos, I recommend the bean dip with flour tortilla chips. The dip is bean-y, cheese-y, and delicious-y. read more

Well i have to say besides the basement look of this place its was a good spot to eat. I've never ate here, but plan on going back. The service is the only thing I would coplain about. Maybe it was a night they didnt plan on being busy and ended up having a big crowd??? Who knows. But to start on the negative... we came in and sat ourselves in a church basement setting and waited a good 15 minutes if not longer for a waitress to come over and greet us. Then on top of that we ordered a appatizer that we wanted before our food of course, and we got the darn appatizer when we got the food. hmmmm. I really hope it was just a busy night and there service isn't always like that because their foom was great. I ordered the combo platter (taco,enchilada,tostada, with beans and rice) Oh it was wonderful. I couldnt even eat it all. My kids got the hot wings with fries, and they loved them. Great value i might add too! It was my girlfriend and I, and my two girls. With our meals and beverages, and my 2 margaritas came to 47 dollars and some cents!! Woohooo! Cant beat that!! So yes after all is said and done i would recomment this place to eat at. Once you get over the basement feel and get settled in its a pretty nice place to eat at,while u listen to the music they play on the jukebox. :)) read more

There is better Mexican Food in South Omaha, but the food is good, the restaurant is spacious, and the TVs make this a perfect place to have an inexpensive meal with your family. read more

Its a pretty good drive for us as we live in Millard, but its worth it. Good selection, good prices, and the best Mexican food I have experienced in Omaha, although there are many I have not tried. Can get busy which means slow service, but this one should be on your list when you are hungry for Mexican. Some pretty decent nightly specials too. read more

This is my favorite place in the whole wide world!! My favorite food there is their rice and beans!! I love them and whenever I come in town we HAVE to go eat there! I have had other beans and rice and they never even compared to this. I also really enjoy their tacos with it not being to greasey and their lovely crunch! YUMMMYYYYYYY!!! So, my husband and I ate here today on the recommendation of a friend. Let me tell you- we will NEVER take a recommendation from them again. The food is nasty. The loaded nachos come with unseasoned ground beef, canned refried beans, canned nacho cheese, raw onions and raw jalapeños. Thank goodness for the jalapeños or they would have been like wet cardboard to eat. I ordered fried chicken tenders on first inspection of the place thinking how could you possibly mess up fried chicken tenders and fries. Oh how wrong I was! Can we say limp fries and disgusting batter on the flat chicken (don't know how that happens). My husbands meal was just as bad. He ordered Joe's Plate (Mexican scrambled eggs with rice and beans). It looked like vomit on a plate and tasted like it too. I should also say I went without water from when my food arrived until after we finished eating (30 minutes) and when I finally got a refill it was a cup of ice with literally like 6oz of water. It has now been about 40 minutes since we left and we both have had some GI issues. So please listen to me when I say DO NOT EAT HERE! The GI in the title takes on a whole new meaning. read more
