Our family visited this restaurant on our vacation at Great Wolf Lodge. Excellent food. Their pizza was far and above better than our local restaurants. Crispy yummy crust, light and flavorful sauce with a tasty amount of cheese. The owner was there talking with people and eating with is own family and grandchildren. Their house wine was so good we bought a bottle for $14 to take home (1.5 Liter). The environment felt like a colonial living room and it was nice to get into a more homey feel. Our family was visiting from out of town and enjoyed Giuseppe's the day before NYE. We didn't have a reservation but they were more than accommodating. The owner and staff were engaging and a pleasure to talk with. They made several recommendations regarding drinks and meals all of which were spot on. Our kids are picky eaters and they both really liked their meals. If we get back to Williamsburg, we'll definitely make it back to Giuseppe's. read more

Had dinner here last evening. I really only have good things to say about this restaurant. The service the ambience the cleanliness the food were all excellent. The price wasn't too bad either. With a drink and an entrée and a dessert it worked out to about $25 a plate. read more

As a native New Yorker I can confidently say this is as excellent Italian food as I've ever had in New York. A non-touristy atmosphere, great service, and an extensive wine list makes this a place I would definitely like to visit again. We were in town on vacation and came across this place on Yelp. Wow! Above and beyond my expectations! The food was excellent, the meatballs were tasty, and the service was on point. It appears to be a family enterprise and their pride of craft shows through. Very good italian food at a reasonable price. Lentil soup was terrific and the owner even gave me the recipe. 1/2 carafe of house montelpuciano was excellent as well. I would echo the sentiment expressed by others that this is a must stop if in the Williamsburg area. My wife and I walked in with our daughter who is six months old. As soon as we walked in the host asked how many a in my party , then he saw me holding the baby carrier. He told us it will be more than a hour wait. As we left we saw numerous empty tables then we talked to three gentleman who were waiting in the lobby for the rest of their party of six and they told me they just walked in them selves and they were getting a table set up for them right then . Pretty sad that we had drive around town an extra half hour to find a place that would appreciate our business. read more

What a surprise! The food was fabulous, the service was superb and the prices were quite reasonable for the quality of the food and service. We had the crab cakes--to die for! The salmon--also delish! And the pasta bolognaise--which was also tasty. The desserts, crime brûlée and raspberry chocolate sorbet was truly sinfully wonderful. Came here during a college visit and was blown away by the incredibly kind staff, super speedy service, and delicious food. We ordered our appetizers and they came out in under three minutes. Our server, Susan, seemed to be able to read our minds! She didn't rush us when we were taking a long time to decide what to order. She was one of the kindest, most patient servers I have ever had. My group of fourteen had a great dinner here on a busy Saturday night. Our reservation was for twelve but the owner and staff quickly and professionally accommodated the change. Our server was excellent throughout. The white sangria was delicious as was my dinner of the Italian specialty soup of the day and veal and beef tortelloni in a sage cream sauce. The friends to either side of me both ordered the ravioli funghi and said it was fantastic. Several in our party ordered Bomba Exotica or cheesecake for dessert and everyone was extremely happy with their choices. It's been a while since I've been here for lunch or dinner, but after last night's experience Giuseppe's will be on my go-to list this summer, especially if they keep that white sangria drink special. read more

I have come here a few times since moving to Williamsburg. Their menu is broad and all of the dishes I have tried are delicious. I usually stick with fettuccine Alfredo, but I have also tried their seafood pasta dish as well as a bite of their veal and they were both delicious. Service is great there. read more

We popped in on a Friday for lunch on the way home to NoVa from a meeting in Hampton, VA. Yelp steered us right, great lunch with great service. My lady enjoyed her eggplant parmesan - nice intact eggplant that were smooth as butter. I had the Josephine chicken that exceeded my expectations - a moist white meat chicken cutlet with goat cheese, arugula and a great fresh picatta sauce. The price was very nice. Reasonably good food, inexplicably slow service. One member of the party had the shrimp scampi appetizer; the shrimp were kind of small. My Caesar salad was OK. The "famous" lentil and Andouille sausage soup was OK, but I wonder why an Italian restaurant is making soup with Andouille sausage! One person ordered meatballs on pasta and reported it was excellent. Another ordered veal marsala and said it was passable. I got a seafood risotto that was just OK. The texture was mostly correct, but the rice might have been just a little bit overcooked. I'd order it again, though. What brings my rating down was the slow service. It was more than an hour between the time we ordered and when the food came out. Our waitress kept promising the food in a "few minutes" more. Minor quibbles are that the bread was obviously standard frozen rolls and that the parmesan on the Caesar salad was bland. A restaurant that aspires to be a top Italian restaurant should be making its own bread (and its own pasta, for that matter) and using top-shelf Parmesan. There are a number of restaurants in the area. Giuseppe's wasn't so good that I'll insist on going during any future visit, but it wasn't so bad that I'll refuse to ever go again. read more

The food was great , as usual. When it got to be 8:45 pm, the staff turned the lights on really bright in the dining room. I suppose this was a not-so-subtle hint that it was time to go! Our family of five (Mom and Dad and three teenage boys) ate here last week. We chose it based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Excellent food, friendly ownership and great service. We had Chicken Saltimbocca, Chicken Genovese, Tortellini al Pesto, Chicken Caprese, can't remember the fifth entree. We all loved our meals. We're from Long Island, where it seems each community has its own excellent semi-casual family-owned Italian restaurant. We weren't really expecting to find that kind of place in Williamsburg, but this place would be a stand-out even on our home turf. A very fine REAL family-owned restaurant. Not that there's anything wrong with chain establishments, but it was nice to eat at an original, unique place. Very good food at a fair price. The service was friendly and attentive without overdoing it. Drinks were kept topped off, which is always welcome after a dehydrating day at theme parks. read more

Excellent family owned local Italian restaurant! The owner, Joseph Scordo, greeted us as upon arrival checked in on us at the table and thanked us for coming and verified everything was to our liking when leaving. In short we were treated like regulars even though this was our first visit, it won't be our last. The food was extremely good, the service professional and courteous, the decor was fresh and clean with a nod to the traditional and prices were reasonable. I do not know how to improve upon this, I would give six stars if I could. If you are looking for traditional Italian with a personal touch, Giuseppe's will not disappoint. read more

My wife and I were in Williamsburg visiting a friend, and decided to try Giuseppe's based on a check of TripAdvisor. I was very disappointed. The staff seemed to be one or two people holding up the whole crew. My server was not one of those people and was condescending (or wasn't paying attention when in conversation depending on how you read it), inattentive, and not very knowledgeable. I was surprised that some, maybe much, of the food was frozen product. My guests beef was tough beyond ready eating. My pork was bland and watery. My wife's risotto was okay; decent flavor but under-cooked. For all this, we paid nearly $100. These dishes as presented were worth nothing close to that, and even at their best possible form $100 is a push. Any liquor was also very overpriced, and the bar selection is small and atypical. Alcohol service by the server was poor. The ambiance is medical office like. The owner does touch table, but it is a bit awkward. Finally, when we left food by accident it and tried back for it and it had been thrown away. These things happen, but I was surprised that nothing (even some bread and butter) was offered as a consolation. In any restaurant I have run we would have done at least that. Overall, it is not terrible. But it is worth nothing close the price, and might not be worth your time at all until the staff sorts itself out. read more

We just happened upon Giuseppe's because it was near the resort we were staying. Parking lot was packed, & assuming the wait would be a while, I left my 3 80+ Year young relatives in the car while I went inside to see what the wait would be. An exceptionally friendly gentleman told me that a party of four had finished dinner, & depending on whether they had dessert, it shouldn't be longer than 15- 20 minutes. This was about 7:30 on a Friday night. Mind you, the aroma in the parking lot made my mouth water! True to his word, we were seated in about 20 minutes. To summarize, the service & the food was exceptional. My uncles had the special- flash fried flounder on a bed of vegetables, my aunt had veal parmigiana & I had the Josephine with veal. It was so good, I wanted to cry. Go to Giuseppe's!! You will not be disappointed. read more

I had the pork Marsala which was delicious, as was the lentil soup. One negative - my wine glass was dirty. As I was about to take my first sip, I noticed that my wine glass had a red lipstick stain (not mine). I told the server, and she came back with a dripping wet glass. It seemed like she had given me the original glass and had hand washed off the lipstick. Yikes! Food was delicious, cleanliness/sanitary practices are questionable. I usually only leave a review if my experience was exceptionally bad or exceptionally good. In this case it was the latter. Everything about our experience was exceptional; service, food, atmosphere. The owner Joe, was incredibly kind and you can tell he genuinely cares about his establishment. This was our first time here and one of the best dining experiences we have had in a while, not to mention I'm typically not a fan of Italian cuisine. The mozzarella appetizer was impeccable and the tartufo dessert was to die for. Don't mind me, I'll likely be raving about this place to everyone I know for the next few months. While the food is good, their customer service is lacking. If you are ordering at an office and do separate order look closely because they charge delivery fees on all of them even if you order and it's delivered at the same time. Just noticed this for the first time today and when I called to dispute it I was pretty much told too bad, so sad. I won't be ordering from them again. So glad they're willing to throw away customers that order at least every week over a simple delivery charge I asked to be reversed. read more
