Very good! Thanks to LA TryGuy, I decided to pop in for the first time on Friday afternoon for a takeout order. Inside was nice and tranquil with beautiful artwork. Plenty of parking in the back. We were pleasantly greeted immediately and placed an order right away. Had our sights set on the oxtail fried rice. For $35, we expected it to be a standard one slot rectangle take out container (you know the ones). Instead it was a 3-slot tray...enough for a main and two small sides. The fried rice was in a small slot, side salad in the other, and the oxtail was in the larger area. EVERYTHING was delicious. Really delicious. I just wish that there was more actual fried rice. Anyway, the oxtail was cooked to perfection. Very flavorful and had a delightful smoky taste. Also tried the crab fried rice. It was equally good. Will definitely go back to try other things, now that I know what to expect.

Giti Thai is a black owned Halal Thai restaurant serving authentic Thai dishes with a soulful twist. I came for the oxtail dishes but was sad to learn it was already sold out by the time we got there around 6:30pm on a Saturday. The place isn't big, but they have a decent amount of tables inside and a small patio with a few tables outside. They also don't take reservations so we put our names down and waited about an hour for the next available table. We just went over to Somerville and had drinks at the bar while we waited. When we returned, our table was just about ready and they seated us promptly and took our drink orders. They offer Thai iced tea, soft beverages, beer and wine. We got a good variety of dishes: Giti Wings $14 worth a try! These were so flavorful, crispy, spicy and juicy. Yellow Thai Curry $18 with potatoes, carrots, onions and a bowl of rice. The curry was rich, creamy with coconut milk and spices, very comparable to other Thai places around. Drunken Noodles $18 the flat rice noodles with crisp onions, bell peppers, garlic, fresh Thai basil and cherry tomatoes had a nice kick and was also similar to what I've had at great Thai restaurants in Long Beach. Giti Thai's Spicy Swai $18 the Swai fillets were lightly battered and fried, paired with mushrooms, fresh bell peppers, garlic, Thai basilI and a bowl of rice. I thought this was a unique and flavorful dish. Giti's Garlic Lamb Chops $26 three perfectly cooked lamb chops were served with a spring mix salad, jasmine rice and drizzled with mustard ginger dressing. The owner came around and greeted patrons, which was a personable touch. I commended him on the flavors of the dishes and he said he got one of the best chefs who specializes in Thai cuisine. I also asked what led him to open a Thai restaurant and he said he surveyed folks in the community and this is what was requested. Brilliant strategy as the restaurant is clearly popular, packed and people are willing to wait to get their Thai fix!

Service was great, restaurant is clean and has a warm black Thai feel with the art.. they had plenty of patrons in the establishment. We order drunken noodles, oxtails fried rice, papaya salad, chicken satay and a Thai tea. The drunken noodles beef was very tough we could not chew it. The ox tail dish was just okay, it lacked seasoning. The satay was a No! It tasted like they marinated in peanuts or something. The papaya salad was just okay, being part Thai I already know they wasn't going to get it right but it was good enough. The Thai tea needed to be a little bit more sweeter. My husband rated them a 5 but I gave a 6. We spent $105. The waitress took off the satay, which was nice of her.

The oxtail curry was amazing! The restaurant has a really dope vibe! The service was really good as well. Really good staff, how fresh and flavorful food. We got there and sat right down.

Combo fried rice. Ask for the sexy sauce, and thank me later. Generous amounts of meat and great flavors make this a favorite dish

Went to visit my kid at college and was excited about trying this place. It did not disappoint! We have great Thai food in the bay area, but this was above and beyond. The waitress made great suggestions to order. I couldn't wait to get home to my leftovers!

Giti Thai truly delivered a 5-star experience! The Thai Wings were a highlight--shatteringly crisp yet incredibly juicy. The Cream Cheese Wontons were a golden, crispy delight that paired seamlessly with the sweet and sour sauce. For the main, the Pad See Ew was seasoned to perfection with that signature wok-charred taste, washed down with a delicious Plum Wine and a rich Thai Iced Tea. You can tell Billy was the one behind the stove today because every dish was executed with such precision and care. Huge props to Billy for making this such a memorable lunch. I can't wait to come back for more!

we ordered crab fried rice, papaya salad, BBQ chicken, pad see ew, crab appetizer and THEY ARE ALL GOOD. Delicious!! I repeat everything in this place is delicious!! Their papaya salad I can't forget- i have been to different thai restaurant- even tried in their country Bangkok thailand myself where they will use mortar and pestle in front of you squeezing all those spices etc whatever- but this one that they are serving... mama mia! it really hits that spice, juicy freshness whatever. Just try it. I can't explain enough. just try. Cozy ambience, clean bathroom and nice staff- Everything is perfect. Parking is at the back- valet and free if u go to their place. first time for me to give 6 stars - if I could. I HIGHLY recommend.

I ordered the wings, drunken noodles, and fortunately they had mango sticky rice. Everything was so flavorful. Portion size was good. The place has such a nice aesthetic with beautiful artwork and the staff were nice and attentive. Plenty of parking in the lot in the back.

Talk about a black hub! Giti Thai blew my socks off from the decor, to the paintings, to the food. I can understand why this place is packed.

Came here for a midweek dinner and it did not disappoint. I loved the overall design and vibe--from the artwork to the lampshades, everything felt thoughtfully put together. The wings were on point: crispy, slightly sweet, with just the right amount of heat. I also enjoyed the fried rice and the curry lamb. The curry was a bit thicker than I'm used to, but the flavor was excellent. Don't skip the Thai tea--it's a must. I'll definitely be back to try more items.

We came on a Saturday evening around 7pm with no reservation and got seated within 15 min. It was pretty busy, but it seems like it was primarily from to-go orders. The restaurant is pretty small. The food came out in a timely manner. I really enjoyed everything we got. The wings were good, the Swai was my favorite it was very flavorful. The only thing I would say is that their hot sauce is not hot at all lol

So I saw this food on instagram and knew I had try it the next time I was in LA. Well this was that trip! The co-owner Brandon is an amazing guy and his staff were super friendly and cordial. It's a down home family feel and everyone is welcome. I had the Giti Wings, super flavorful and tender. The Oxtail Curry with rice was absolutely some of the best food I've had in a while. The bathrooms were sparkling clean and the atmosphere was on a good vibe and energy.

    Ambiance, chill and pretty

Food was delicious . We ordered pad Thai w/shrimp, wings, and crab fried rice. Service was friendly, helpful and pleasant. Ambiance is chill but artsy and beautiful. Will have to come here on Wednesdays for their fried chicken.

I fried plantain is good with the little bit of crabs on the side. Dish is creative but overall not extraordinary. 1 Root Beer Braised Short Rib - $44.00 5/5 this is the most delicious and my favorite dish. The mashed potato is so creamy and beef is so soft. It is the most creamy and buttery mashed potato I've ever had. 1 Jollof Platter $28.00 + Berbere Shrimp $12.00 - 4/5. The spicy rice dish has enough moisture and dryness. The shrimp was grilled in creme sauce. 1 Garlic Noodle $22.00 2/5. It tastes like soy sauce noodles because I couldn't really taste the garlic part of it. 1 Plantain Sticky Cake $15.00 5/5 toffee pudding style and is amazing. Moist and creamy. Overall I would definitely come back. Service is outstanding and water is filled with bottle and we could constantly refill it.

Both combos included rice, salad, soup, tea, and bottled water. They also usually come with a banana, but unfortunately we didn't get them because they were not ripe at the time. The portions were massive! You can honestly share one combo for 2 people. Going down each combo component: Goat: My favorite of the meats. It was super tender, moist, and flavorful. A bit too fatty for my liking, but still good. Lamb: A little less tender than the goat, but still flavorful and good. Also less fat than the goat which was nice. Tea: Delicious tea. It was sweet and warm. Unlimited refills which is nice. I would come back regularly for the tea if I could. Rice: Soft, flavorful and also soaks up the flavor from the meats. Salad: A nice, crisp, and refreshing element to cut the fatty and savory meats. Soup: Flavorful and tangy which I liked. Also helped to cut the heavy meat and rice. Both of the meats were covered in veggies like onions and tomatoes which were yummy. The dishes also came with a spicy sauce which was nice, but can get a bit too spicy for me. For $19.99 for each combo, this is such as steal considering the portion sizes and meats. The service here was great and I felt very welcomed by the lady serving us.
