The world's slowest pizza place. I ordered here once before and it took over an hour to receive my food, to be fair it was a Friday but it was still inconvenient. This time I try again on a Thursday during lunch so I order as soon as they open at 11am. It's been an hour once again and I even have a smaller order than last time. WHY ARE YALL SO SLOW ???? Like turn on the ovens and fryers on 30 mins before open and maybe just maybe y'all will make the food efficiently. The food itself is pretty good but unfortunately I won't be coming back cause you guys don't value costumers time or money. There are better options in the area that won't take 500 years to make your food and bring it to you. It's a flop from me don't waste your time or money here. After years of seeing this place and not stopping, decided to have lunch here today. Sat on the bar side. Ordered an old standby, a chicken parm grinder (wedge or hero to the downstate NY crowd). The affable barmaid, Kathy, asked me what kind of cheese I wanted. I had never been asked that before on a parm order. Choices were provolone, American or mutz. I actually opted for mutz. She also asked if I wanted to eat half in the bar, and take the rest home. I said "sure". Good thing....it was humongous - roughly 18" long. The grinder itself was ok, nothing special. It was a tad short on chicken compared to most other places where I've had it. The chicken itself was very good, but slightly overwhelmed by the bread. Also, very heavy on the onions, which h I didn't expect. Very safe place. Excellent service, and nice place to stop in for a drink. I got the fish sandwich with provolone cheese and bacon ( Lettuce, Tomato, Bacon and mayo) and an orange juice as my beverage. I spent a total of $12.03 Im going to rate this meal 1-10 The service was quick and easy and not packed at all Of course this is my personal preference and it was a deli sandwich which means it could be more customizable with a little more effort. The fish itself was seasoned well and a hefty filet witch was well accommodated by a Portuguese roll but that fish was still poking out so you can gauge the size. A nice slice of tomato however it could just be me but the lettuce was a bit too close to the center for me I'm just not a fan of extra crunchy lettuce. The cheese was melted upon the fish almost glazed like which I apricate. The Mayo was on there light enough to moisten the sandwich when needed but the fish did a good job of that on its own. The bacon I had to save for last I'm not gonna lie to you guys it was lackluster which is disappointing and not a good reflection on their BLT's at all. The bacon could have been more crispy / cooked a little longer All in all ill give this dish a light 6 with the potential to be better with more customization and the communication you want crispy bacon. read more

Located in a central town plaza, nondescript storefronts offering easy accessibility, the large parking lot is usually quiet unless there is a summer concert on the green nearby. We ordered take out and the pepperoni veggie pizza did not disappoint. The crust is on the thicker scale and tppings were substantial. The large single order of eggplant parm was overbreaded, the eggplant was rubbery and sliced thinly although what truly set this dish on the back shelf was its lack of sauce. It displayed dryly. And came to us over linguini when we specifically ordered angel hair. While my friends pizza was good, there are other wonderful eateries close by (Tunxis Grill, TrainWreck, Windsor Steak and Seafood) who do Italian dishes with much more flavor and freshness. read more

Giovanni's slaps, it goes back, it hits the spot okay. There's just a few things, idk if it's GrubHub or them as a company but my orders always have something wrong with it. The last time I ordered from them I ordered cheese fries...without bacon. They put bacon on it- this has happened twice but luckily GrubHub remedied the situation. The eggplant pepperoni pizza is very very good I would say the taste is kind of like a knock off Mr. Pizza. The wings are inconsistent in size but VERY good. One time I got a bunch that were THICC the second time they were a little small. But over all they were delicious. I just wish this place was more consistent- and maybe slightly cheaper. read more

We will definitely not be ordering from Giovanni's ever again! After ordering a large pizza, we were informed they were out of large pizzas, which was the first time we've ever hear anything like that from a pizza restaurant. Nonetheless , we were offered a medium and a small for the price of a large pizza as an alternative. However, after waiting a hour and a half, for a medium greasy pizza, we realized they never sent the small that we were promised . When we called the store to inform them of this, the owner was extremely dismissive and rude in the background and said he didn't charge us for the large and didn't seem to care that we didn't have enough food to feed everyone. When I expressed my disappointment with my experience, the only solution offered was to wait an hour for a small pizza to be delivered. The owner would not get on the phone and offered no apology for the inconvenience, which speaks to the lack of customer service this restaurant embodies. We do not believe it was a mistake. The "decision" to omit the small pizza seemed to be financially motivated. Rather than tell us he could not accommodate our request from the beginning , he offered us a solution in order to make sure they got our business then decided it would not be cost effective and never bothered to notify us (the customer). As a Windsor resident, it's unfortunate that our family will no longer support this (local) business. read more

Ordered pizza from them last night. They delivered the wrong pizza to us which we realized as I was helping myself to a slice. They called us to say they were coming to retrieve the pizza and deliver it to the customer who ordered it! That's never a good idea, but especially during a pandemic. We spoke to the owner and told him he can't give this pre-handled pizza to another unsuspecting customer. He then changed his tune and said they were retrieving it to just throw it away. (Likely story.) In the end, they told us keep the wrong pizza and delivered the pizza we ordered with the message that "next time you'll pay for it." Hey buddy, don't deliver us the wrong pizza next time. How many other times have they delivered pizzas that have already been handled/breathed on by other customers? Gah-ross! read more

I've been going to this place for years. Enjoy sitting outside and we can even bring our dog. Was there a few days ago and ordered a Genoa and ham sandwich which I've had there many times. It came and I was shocked of how small it was. I looked inside and there was two paperthin slices of ham and two paperthin slices of Genoa. On top of that they charge me an extra $2.50 for ordering two kinds of meat. I commented to the waitress on the small portion size and she said she was sorry but did not offer any compensation. Whoever they have answering the phone doesn't need to work there because they don't like talking to people. They always switch my order from delivery to pick up and when I try to resolve it nicely they tell me I'm wrong or mistaken, breaking the first rule in customer service: the customer is always right. The only reason I'm writing this is because Giovanni's is not receptive. Visiting 6 flags and staying at a hotel decided to get pizza and have it delivered... We got a medium pizza and when we got it it was like eating something out of the freezer section at Price Chopper and it was super small. Their mediums are more like a small... We got onion rings (like store bought and can't find the onion) and french fries The onion rings were not that great and the french fries had no seasoning on them whatsoever. Medicore pizza, medicore subs, mediocre food overall. The ingredients don't always taste so fresh, and the flavors get very muddled. There are a number of pizza and sub places in town, and at least two (Windsor Pizza and Pizza Rama) have better food. I've been ordering from you for about 5 years now since I started working in Windsor and This was the worst delivery order I have ever had. I have never complained about a delivery order in my life. The nerve you have charging a $2.00 delivery fee and the driver couldn't get out of his car and I had to come out to his car in the rain??? Your drivers call every time thinking they can get the customer to come outside to them. It's ridiculous. Walk into the lobby like every other food driver that comes to the office. By far the worst. ever. My husband and I are staying in town just for the night as we travel for work together. Our curly fries were cold and chewy, our chicken tenders weren't cooked through (very mushy, no crisp at all), and our bbq chicken pizza was literally the worst I've ever had (the cheese wasn't melted, barely any chicken, no bbq sauce, raw onions thrown on top.) My husband who will literally eat anything took 2 bites and was done. 30 dollars down the drain and we are now going to eat snacks from the vending machines for dinner. I didn't read any reviews before trying this place. A coworker suggested I order one of their 18" subs. I got a steak bomb to go. It was very good and big enough for 2 full meals. Tonight I went in for dinner. It's basically just a pizza joint with an expanded menu. I was gonna play it safe and order wings or pizza or another sub. But, I figured what the heck, and I ordered shrimp fra diavolo. I have had this dish at no less than 50 other restaurants, and this meal was in the top 5, maybe even the top 3. It was inexpensive and came with soup or salad. The sauce was fantastic and the shrimp were cooked perfectly, snappy and fresh, not overcooked at all. Poor, this establishment smells like mold throughout the first floor. The checkout counter is located in font of the kitchen and smells like a bathroom. Takeout is preferable to dining in but not by much, although on the surface the food appears and smells good and even in most cases tastes good the issue is the after effect that will make you feel like you have been kicked in the stomach. read more

After a long break from Giovanni's because the food was poor, my husband and I gave the place another shot. It was Easter Sunday and everything in town was closed, except Giovanni's. We ordered pizza and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were good, but it was not freshly breaded. Probably the best quality for frozen sticks. The mozzarella did have good flavor though. The pizza was very good. My husband ordered the combo and I ordered a white pizza. Lots of garlic on both pizzas, which is okay because we love garlic. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. The mozzarella was very flavorful. The crust was crispy and nicely browned. We were quite pleased and we will be back. read more

I love rundown shacks with pleasant genuine staff and a kitchen that would keep you coming for more... Well this place is none of those, except the rundown part. I was the only other client in the entire place. Ordered bowl of clam chowder and a hamburger, after 20 minutes I received the chowder, some portions of the soup were very runny and other sections extremely thick, no real clams in sight with with to much salt, I've used clam chowder base from a can that tasted better than this, two cracker packets that were cover in some sticky slime (made me nauseous). ...Another 20 minutes go by (40 by now) and my hamburger it's no where in sight, my server had left the building so I walked up to the front counter and told them (looked like the manager) I had to go, I explain that it is unacceptable to have food so bad take so long, she apologized and charged me for my soup - my first attempt at this place was with pizza last year and the experience was only on food quality since it was take out, when it comes to pizza don't bother, very sub par. read more
