Favorite stop. All around awesome. Food is fresh, hot, reasonably priced and quick. Clean and comfortable. Highly recommend

Shit dude, pretty rare ocasion but i actually went here fully sober. Service was fast ngl and they gave me hella food. Ordered the pulled pork. Was honestly a 6/10. If i was bomboclatt geeked id prolly rate it a bit higher. Garlic bread had no cheese which is pretty fucked tbh. Mac and cheese was cold and clumpy so thumbs down there. The pulled pork was pretty decent other than almost breaking my tooth on a peice of bone. Overall, serivce and ambience is pretty chill the food is solid if you are starving but not a "damn this shits gas" typa place. Overall 6.5/10 read more

We had Gio's cater an event this past weekend for 55 people. They made the ordering process very easy, met us an hour north of the shop to drop it off, and even let me borrow their food warmer for the night! The food was also very good with the pulled pork, baked beans, Mac and cheese, and cornbread being the crowd favorites. The brisket, while very flavorful, was not very tender...at least when compared to Texas bbq. That said, they were great to work with and the prices were reasonable so we'd definitely hire them again! read more

(4) ~ very good food & service located i a gas station. MENU: ** Haluski (side) = (4.15) Very tasty & Unique side that is best described as cooked cabbage, with noodles & crumbled meat. ** Baby back Ribs (half rack) = (4) very tasty, especially when you add more BBQ sauce from the table. Note: This is not "fall-off-the bone", which would need to be boiled, so it's 100% smoked;) * Mac 'n Cheese = (3.85) Tasty, although I prefer when there is either some burnt cheese crust &/or breadcrumbs that add some texture;) read more

Long trip from NYC to OH in one shot.. We were hungry. After finding out the place had changed hands, everything made sense. I do believe this was once award winning food but it's mostly kids running it. You get the feeling morale is just not great there and it reflects in the food. Soggy fries, Mac N cheese and vegetables that were laying around all day. The ribs, at 8 PM, were very good and we came out basically satiated. It was expensive for gas station ambience and overall quality. The takeaway is not go as late as we went because they will serve you some unremarkable sides even after you have spent good money. Can't speak for a sandwich or the other stuff we didn't have. Just know their heart is not in the food. read more

Midweek lunch driving through. I suggest you stop for the brisket, but beware of the onion rings. The brisket was tender with just enough bite, sauce was tangy tomato and complimented the brisket, which had a small ribbon of flavor rich fat ( can I call it that :) The onion rings were packed with grease, thick battered, and the onions were flavorless. A few chicken sandwiches were served and were HUGE. (did not have one), But next drive through will have to split one, again HUGE. read more

The Pulled Pork Sandwich is very good. Friendly and fast service too. 9pm and the place is clean too.

A STRONG 4 stars! We were road tripping across route 80 and saw that Gio's was a local favorite. I loved my pulled pork Sammy. Ambiance is unique being integrated into a gas station but I still loved it. I felt welcomed and at ease. It was a great and easy stop! read more

Everything I have tried from the place is very good. The meatball sub was good, just really big meatballs, the fries are hit or miss. Very nice customer service, I appreciate the greetings I received and just asking if I needed any condiments with my meal (and not stingy with the ranch when requesting for some.) The location is a rest area as well, you will be able to put your gas and enjoy a good meal. Well recommended read more

Living in West Decatur I have had this pizza often and sent people there.Well today I will no longer be doing this. I stopped today around 12 July 2st.2025. It was the worst pizza I ever had. Paper thin dry and tough crust. The sauce has change and us awful and salty and it was greasy. Plus slices are smaller. In all it's a BIG 0 read more

Learned in Kansas City, Kansas, that bbq at gas stations tend to be gems. This is in a gas station convenience store. Ordered the beef brisket with cole slaw. Sauce was smoky, sweet, and tangy. I didn't bother with the other sauces they had there as the original was perfect. Great meat to fat ratio and thin slices. Very filling, satisfying, and well, I want more as I write about it. Photos don't do it justice. It's not the best brisket I've ever had, but it's one of my favorites. The sandwich was $12. Water at the soda fountain is free. So are soda refills if you purchase. Staff is super nice. Order at the counter, and they'll call you or bring it your food. First come, first serve in dining area tables or counter by window. Gas is a decent price. A mile or two off the highway with plenty of parking. read more

It's a very mom & pop environment with a gas station section that I loved. The staff were very friendly & the service was very fast. However their BBQ Chicken seemed warm vs what you would expect as a right out of the grill type. Even my husband was disappointed with the temperature and was confused. Their Mac & cheese was good and you get a set of plastic silverware to use with your meal. I would say from my experience I would give it a 4 out of 10. But their cornbread was to die for though.. I made my husband go back for an entire batch. Grateful for the opportunity to try out their restaurant. read more

We've been going to this place for years on our way to Virginia. Although prices have gone up significantly since Covid, the food is as good as ever. $30 gets you a full rack of ribs with 2 sides and corn bread. Ribs are tender and fall off the bone. Fries are fresh cut and the Mac and cheese covered with chili is a nice touch. Counter service was very fast at 3:00 but the place gets busy at dinner time. Basic dining room with tables, chairs and a few booths. We split the meal, so it's a great value for us. Highly recommended! read more

Tasty BBQ and sides. I always get the pulled pork. My family has had the brisket and chicken and both were very good as well

Don't discount this place because it's in a convenience store! My mom and I had the Catfish and it did not disappoint. It's really hard to find catfish in stores and in other restaurants so we were happy to find it on this menu. You order at the counter and then sit down until they call your number. It can get busy too! The garlic bread (which I think comes with most things) wasn't too desirable but the BBQ baked beans and the Mac and cheese were good. read more

Time for a new review. :( yuck! Unfortunately the place was sold and after eating there 4 times since the new management, I don't think I will return. The place is prettier but the food is barely edible now. The chicken was super salty and then super dry, the potato was burnt and dry, the brisket was dry, tough and bland. The coleslaw was rotten. I think it's safe to say it's not going to improve. I'm sad because it used to be delicious food and it's not anymore. read more

I've driven past Gio's for years on my way to Virginia. I finally stopped and was so happy I did. I got a combination platter of brisket and Pulled pork as well as potato salad and Chili mac. Their bbq sauce is a bit tangy and I put it on everything! I'd definitely buy a bottle to take home. The counter to order is in the main store and it's easy to order and be on your way, or sit and enjoy your food. The pork was excellent. I liked the brisket, but I'd probably try the chicken next time after all of this I am reading. I could have passed on the chili mac. Not entirely spicy and I think a topping of cheese would have helped. Great service overall! read more

Service here is awful. Convenience store atmosphere. Food is blah and expensive. Restrooms are clean.

Mediocre food, but definitely overpriced. I wouldn't go out of your way to stop here.

This is a convenient stop for both food and fuel if you are in central Pennsylvania. The huge bonus is that their food is fabulous. I ordered a full rack of ribs, which comes with their own bbq sauce. With the ribs I had garlic bread and their spaghetti salad. One of the highlights of any trip thru Pennsylvania. Their restrooms are always clean and the staff friendly and attentive. The branch wood furniture gives the place a comfortable ambiance. read more

Perfect place right off the highway, can get gas and a great bite to eat. After driving almost 30 hours cross country, this was a splendid treat. BBQ sauce was tangy and sweet. But moreover the pulled pork was moist and tender. The combination was outstanding and would love to stop in again to try there submarine sandwiches next time I'm passing through Pennsylvania. read more

I thought this place was pretty darn awesome. My husband and I were traveling upstate recently and this was exactly the kind of place I was hoping to stumble across to have a nice lunch. We were not disappointed one bit. We both had brisket sandwiches with their yummy award winning BBQ sauce, and we also shared sides of potato salad, spaghetti salad (my favorite!) and the chili mac and cheese. Everything was so good and the atmosphere was nice and casual - just how I like it. We will definitely be stopping there again the next time we head upstate, and I am looking forward to it already! read more

Being out in the boonies on a long road trip doesn't mean you have to settle for convenience store food, nor fast food. There's hope for all you hangry foodies, at the end of the Shawville highway. Nice pit stop at the intersection of highway 970 and 322 highways: Gio's a BBQ joint connected to a gas station convenience store. Would recommend the ribs which are tender but not fall off the bone with a little bit of bark. They're smoky and covered with a sweet sticky sauce. Beef ribs are smoked for 4 hours while the pork ribs are smoked for 10 hours. If you like fried cabbage, you'll like their Polish Haluski (fried cabbage and noodles). Combos come with garlic bread and 2 sides. Decent food, good portions, and reasonably priced. A clean spacious dining room inside, picnic tables outside, and clean washrooms. A welcomed site from fast food joints when you're out on the road. read more

Stopped here during the 100 mile yard sale. It came highly recommended by locals and was one stop shopping. Part BBQ, part convenience store, gas station, and trip stop, this place offered it all. It was pretty busy. It was also a bit confusing inside. There's a counter with two cashiers several feet apart. It would appear at first glance that one covers the gas/convenience store purchases, and other for the BBQ orders but you can order or check out at either I was told. The menu had a nice selection of BBQ and fried offerings and a few salads. Pricing was average. The serving size was oversized, but we still both left hungry. While the BBQ we ordered - hubby a BBQ pork on top of burger, and myself a pulled BBQ pork w/ coleslaw, etc is was very one note. It lacked smoky flavor and crusty bits and basically tasted like pulled pork smothered in a store bought sauce. Nothing set it apart. I will say that I may be a BBQ snob, as I attended a national bbq competition in NYC and had bbq in the south, so I know good bbq. I was suprised to learn Gio's actually won awards because it was very unmemoriable. I will say hubby loved the seasoned fries - frozen fries with chili powder which I could barely taste and I loved his onion rings, which appeared to be from scratch. The folks were friendly and we were served suprisingly fast but probably a one and done for us. read more

On a road trip stopped off at Gios for some lunch. I wish I could give it more stars, but the food was cold, I know bbq can be room temperature, but the Mac n cheese was ice cold and the beans were watery. We ordered the Big Daddy sampler. The meats were smoked well and really enjoyed the ribs and the brisket. Also got the shrimp platter special which were bay shrimp deep fried with French fries was ok. I am a BBQ fan, but this place missed the mark with their side dishes. Take out service was efficient. It is super causal with seating inside a gas station grocery store. read more

A BBQ place would never be my first choice BUT this place rocks! I've been here twice. This place is no frills. Order at the counter, then they call your number when it's ready and you go pick it up yourself. There are a bunch of tables and booths. Fountain drinks are self-service but there are also drinks in the cooler. First time I was there I had the brisket sandwich and it was excellent and huge. Second time I was there I had pulled pork. It was also very good but I preferred the brisket. The rolls are excellent. Bathrooms are clean. read more

Perfect stop for quick bbq and to fill up the gas tank as it is a combination of a gas station as well. Service was friendly and we got our food really quick . I ordered the bbq pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. The hubby got the double cheeseburger and fries . All my food was great! I prefer a less tangy bbq sauce ( just my preference) but I had some in the car as we were road tripping so I just grabbed my sweet baby rays . The burger had great flavor and was huge definitely could have split it and been full but I was craving a pork sandwich and having leftovers is always a plus . I really liked their coleslaw and should have ordered another side of it as it was on the pork sandwich. This beats stopping at fast food all day long ! If your in the area check them out . read more

Little truck stop in the middle of Pennsylvania off the interstate. It has lots and lots of truckers, which is generally a good sign. I've eaten here four separate times. Brings a whole new meaning to Gas Station food. Disguised as your "off the interstate" country fuel station, but the BBQ powerhouse you needed on your trip! Fabulous tasting barbecue and don't let the location fool you. Fall off the bone tender ribs and the pulled pork is delish. Just off 322 and I-80. There isn't really much ambiance. Service is prompt and polite. Yes, you can fuel up there too. read more

Quick stop for fuel and food. Pulled pork sandwich was great on the go. Fries were bland (now I know why I saw so many salt packets out)

The bbq was good and they have the sauce on the tables. Everything was ok but not great. That's why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.

They have pretty good bbq and there well know around here part that's it is in I'd recommend this place frr ngl
