My husband and I met some friends for pizza at Giordano's on a Friday night. Giordano's was semi-full but we met our friends at the table. Our booth was small and cramped with not much room for my legs. We ordered the meat lovers deep dish and spinach deep dish pizza. The pizzas were delicious with tons of cheese and toppings. Their stuffed pizza is like no other pizza. There are lots of fun decorations to look at. I recommend Giordano's.

When Chicagoans mention deep dish pizza, Gioradano's is often mentioned in many people's top lists. As compared to other options, Giordano's is one of the more straightforward options - generally quite meaty and cheesy and with a bready crust. This is in contrast to some other options which may have garlicky or buttery crusts, caramelization, unusual toppings, etc. Giordano's can appeal to a wide variety of people looking for a more straightforward pizza experience. The menu here is fairly classic for a chicago pizza joint with a standard set of starters, salads, italian entrees, and desserts. Pizza is offered in thin and deep dish, with mostly sausage, mushroom, onion, green pepper, pepperoni, chicken, and spinach variations. There is a wider variety of items available for make your own options, but the specials are a bit limited in the combinations offered. The interior has more of a traditional pizza joint type of vibe, with decor to make diners feel like they've been transported back several decades. The pizzas themselves are fairly large so you don't necessarily need an appetizer, however it can take 40-50 minutes to prepare a deep dish, so ordering a Giordano's sampler is a good way to keep the table from getting too hungry while waiting. In general, the pizzas have a fairly thick layer of tomato sauce that isn't too bold (letting the toppings shine a little more), the cheese is fairly thick, and crust is bready and a little crunchy. For me, I find that these pizzas are probably best for those looking to get a sub sandwich in a pizza form, but may not meet the bolder flavor expectations that you'll find from many of the national pizza chain locations. With that said though, I also think that Giordano's works well for those looking for a less greasy, not overly spiced or herbed choice, where you can enjoy more of the simple combination of dough, cheese, and tomato sauce without an excessive amount of other ingredients to distract from the experience. Overall, a good choice if you're a deep dish or Chicago pizza lover. This is one of the spots that is important to try in your journey of Chicago Pizza tourism.

Pretty good deep dish pizza. Especially the dough and cheese, freshness is good. A bit of problem I have with the pizza is that, it was supposed to be meat and more meat but I can't tell the meat I was eating from the taste.

Deep dish pizza is a must tourist stop in Chicago, you just need to plan ahead because this isn't "fast" food. I planned for an hour and placed an order for pick up. I ordered a personal 6" pizza with my own combo of toppings. It was perfect. Deep dish with great cheese stretchiness. Flavor was just what I wanted. I carried out but staff was friendly and restaurant was clean.

I have been to Chicago twice before and never got chance to try their "famous deep dish pizza". This time we visited our friends and i asked if we can have deep dish pizza, and the first meal we went to was Giordano's pizza... this is definitely my favorite pizza now, as the crust was so crispy that it reminded me of samosa cover and definitely pizza and toppings add to the crust. Four of us ordered Medium size half and half ... it was very much sufficient to us and we enjoyed it! Another check mark in my food bucket list #foodie #deepdishpizza #giordanospizza #pizza #chicagodeepdishpizza

Deep dish? Absolutely pathetic. Less than half an inch of cheese. We literally ate it with our hands. The other was supposed to be a veggie pizza and it's straight olives. Should have gotten Lou's

This was found in my deep dish pizza. It was a deep dish with green peppers and mushrooms. And somehow a chunk of mud was added.

There was a chunk of mud found in my pizza. Please see the picture. Mgmt refunded me and offered to remake my order, but I had zero appetite at that point.

Tonight felt especially memorable and worthy of a proper review. We usually avoid Friday nights because Vai's is almost always packed... and after tonight, it became crystal clear why. Diane and I were craving a standout meal, a little comfort, and a relaxing evening together. What we received was far beyond dinner service. We were treated like valued regulars and genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Pete, who I believe is the manager, recognized us immediately and encouraged us to put our name on the waiting list despite the crowd. I'm grateful he did. While we waited, we sat outside near the fire on a cool evening, which added another layer of warmth and ambiance to an already inviting atmosphere. Within minutes, Pete came outside personally to let us know two seats had opened at the bar. That level of attentiveness matters. As soon as we walked in, Eliot and Mallory greeted us with smiles and authentic positive energy. Not forced. Not transactional. Genuine. They made us feel appreciated simply for being there. Even on one of the busiest nights imaginable, they engaged with guests with the same warmth and attentiveness we've experienced during quieter weekday visits. In the background, Morgan was crafting cocktails with precision while still finding time for a familiar nod that quietly says, "Good to see you again." That kind of hospitality cannot be faked. We ordered our favorite dish, the Lobster & Shrimp Rigatoni and once again it was exceptional. Rich, consistent, perfectly prepared, and easily one of the best dishes in Naperville. Without us even asking, the kitchen thoughtfully split the entrée onto two plates. That small gesture perfectly captures what makes Vai's special... attention to detail seems woven into everything they do. From the fire outside to the flowers inside, from the cocktails to the consistency of the food, Vai's creates an atmosphere that feels welcoming, polished, and sincere all at once. Authenticity and respect seem embedded in the culture there. Tonight was a standout evening for us, and I'm genuinely glad we decided to stay despite the crowd. Pete, Eliot, Mallory, Morgan, and the entire staff - thank you for reminding us what great hospitality looks like. Outstanding indeed.

Service was great! Everyone was friendly and prompt and wanted to make sure we had a great meal. This is what we ordered: * Nonna's Meatballs * Pear & Fennel Salad (walnuts on the side) * Focaccia di Recco (requested with prosciutto & arugula) * Linguine alle vongole I also ordered an Almafi Spritz (zero proof) which was wonderful and bright a slice of Italy to Chicago's suburbia. The food was fresh and delicious. I recalled a Davanti location in Chicago but never had the chance to check it out, so this was my first time and it was great! The atmosphere is chic and the food was excellent, but not in a flashy, overdone, complicated way, just real good, made in house, hearty Italian fare. The Focaccia Di Recco was AMAZING. Yes, all caps. We packed up half of it to take home and it was still great the next day (reheated and then toasted in our mini counter oven/fryer). If you order just one thing here, let it be this focaccia dish. I understand why it's popular and I blurted out loud several times while eating this in restaurant: "on my god" it was truly divine. As my husband said, "this food might be better than what we had in Italy..." and I don't disagree. The kitchen does not do split portions for pasta but they were able to bring out 2 plates for us to split ourselves. This is a great spot for date night, a ladies night out, or a solo wine & dine at the bar. I can't believe I didn't come sooner. In the ongoing saga of trying to find a restaurant that works for all three of us: my vegan wife,…read moreme (a very NOT vegan) and our picky 8-year old, tonight's episode took place at Fiammé in downtown Naperville. Its very hard to find spots that can accommodate our very particular palates, and even more hard to find good vegan options outside of the city. Thats why I was excited to find this lovely Italian restaurant. The parking lot is small but there's a good amount of sidestreet parking. The inside is warm, cozy and super clean (including the restrooms ). The hospitality stood out right away. The owners and wait staff were very welcoming, and our server was fantastic; honest (which I appreciate), knew the menu well, and once she realized our situation, gave us some wonderful direction on what to order. I wouldn't say that the menu is overwhelming, but I rarely go to a restaurant where it takes me that long to decide what I want. There are lots of interesting options, from braised short rib ravioli to baked ziti, and several tasty appetizers (highly recommend the calamari). But we had come for the PIZZA. My daughter got the kids cheese pizza. It was surprisingly bigger than we thought, and at a great price. The kid only ate half before she said, "I like it...this might be better than [insert famous Chicago pizza brand]." (you MUST KNOW that this is high praise from a 3rd grader). My wife ordered the "They Don't Have Beef With Me" vegan Detroit-style pizza, and I have to admit, it was very good. Somehow they pulled off a buttery (but not butter) crust with melty vegan cheese (but NOT cheese ). Absolutely nailed it. I would have eaten more of hers if I hadn't ordered the Butcher pizza from the wood-fired menu. It was OUTSTANDING. Great flavor, perfect texture. Easily one of thee best wood-fired pizzas I've ever had. We're not drinkers, but they do have a good wine list and some nice zero-proof options, including the Amber Apple and The Drip. We didn't make it to dessert, mostly because the portions are generous, so our bellies (and our to-go boxes) were full. We will definitely be back to try other menu options and for dessert. If your family or friend group includes picky palates or dietary restrictions (the pizzas can be made gluten-free as well), then run...don't walk...to Fiammé. 100/10 recommend.

I ordered the vegetable wood fired pizza and it was good, my husband ordered the Detroit Style double pepperoni and it was also very yummy. The contemporary, stylish decor and warm, ambient lighting set the perfect stage for anything from a sharp business dinner to a celebratory night out.  While their entire menu is packed with crowd-pleasers, there are three absolute standouts that elevate Entourage from a great local spot to a premier dining destination. The Standout Dishes Classic French Onion Soup The meal hits a high note right out of the gate with this starter. It is everything a traditional French onion soup should be, but executed flawlessly. The broth is deeply savory and rich with perfectly caramelized sweet onions. It is topped with a generous, beautifully blistered, gooey layer of Gruyère al forno over a crispy brioche crouton that holds its texture remarkably well. It is comforting, rich, and the perfect way to kick off dinner.  Wagyu Beef Stroganoff This dish is a masterclass in comforting, high-end comfort food. Instead of standard beef tips, Entourage elevates the classic with pan-seared, premium Wagyu steak that is incredibly tender. The rich, velvety sauce combines wild mushrooms, fresh herbs, garlic, and a savory sour cream and veal demi-glace. Tossed with wide, fresh pappardelle pasta and served with crisp garlic toast, it is decadent, deeply flavorful, and easily one of the best entrees on the menu.  The Delmonico Ribeye For the steak lovers, the dry-aged Delmonico Ribeye is an absolute triumph. Sourced from premium Linz Heritage Angus beef, the cut is magnificently marbled, resulting in an incredibly juicy and flavorful steak. Grilled to absolute perfection with a beautiful outer crust, it melts in your mouth and reminds you exactly why Entourage can easily compete with any traditional high-end steakhouse in the suburbs. The Verdict Entourage successfully delivers a high-energy, upscale vibe without losing sight of exceptional culinary execution. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, and the kitchen consistently hits its marks. Whether you are coming for the incredible steaks or their elevated comfort classics like the stroganoff, you are guaranteed a memorable meal.

Located in Naperville, Rosebud has several locations in the Chicago area and are owned under the Rosebud restaurant group. This particular location is in downtown Naperville and serves high-quality, authentic Italian cuisine. The inside has a modern aesthetic with an upscale, romantic atmosphere. I will say this restaurant seems more appropriate for special occasions and formal dinners. The dress code should is smart-casual or business-casual, this is not a casual restaurant. Service seemed a little off and the kitchen was definitely behind. We arrived 10 minutes after our reservation and our table still wasn't ready. We were seated as soon as it was ready, but you could tell they were swamped. The bread took about 15 minutes to come out and it wasn't super warm or fresh. Our server gave us plenty of time to look over the menu, a little too much. But he seemed very busy keeping up with the other tables, so it was more understandable. We put out appetizers and entrees in together to try and speed things up. The kitchen was extremely backed up. It took nearly 20-25 minutes to receive our appetizers. And at least another 30 for our entrees. While this was frustrating, it happens. They also forgot to add shrimp to one of the entrees, although they did take it off the bill. The other aspects of the service were wonderful though. Our waters were filled very frequently by various staff. We had the manager check-in on us a couple times as well. It was clear they were trying to do their best that night. Our server was very personable and friendly too. For the food, we started with some bread and olive oil. They do replenish the bread too. The second basket we received was much fresher than the first. For appetizers, we ordered the grilled calamari and garlic knots. The grilled calamari came with sautéed peppers and had some sort of balsamic olive oil dressing. The dressing was quite strong and the calamari had a strong charred taste. This wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad either. The garlic knots were phenomenal! With just the right amount of oil, garlic, and parmesan, they were soft and just delectable. For my entree, I ordered the Gnocchi Bolognese. This was a generous portion and had lovely presentation. The bolognese sauce was decent with a good amount of veal and beef. I wish it had more of a robust flavor though. The dollop of creme fresh on top made the dish really creamy! The gnocchi was decently tender, not too soft or overcooked. Wasn't "wowed" by this dish, but was satisfied. Overall, my experience at Rosebud could have been a little better. Communication seemed to be off that night. Kitchen was extremely backed up and a lot of errors were made. Luckily some items were taken off the final bill, which was nice. The food was good, not great. I enjoyed the atmosphere, but again, was expecting more out of the overall service.
