This place is huge and has a ton of seating so if you and your large family or group of friends are looking for somewhere to go, Giordano's is the place! The staff was friendly and courteous, greeting me after seating the couple before me. The food was hot and fresh which made trying my first real Chicago deep dish pizza one I will not forget!

Came here for deep dish and wasn't impressed as much. It was a bit doughy and flavor wasn't what I was expecting. Service was nice but I have also tried other places so maybe my expectation was too high. Overall, did not meet my expectations.

We grabbed a pizza and salad to go. The pizza was really good. The only complaint is that they put the pizza straight from the oven to the box so the bottom gets wet and soggy from the steam. The crust is really good and the pizza is surprisingly not as heavy as I thought. They have super friendly staff at this location. Will definitely return next time I'm in Chicago.

Small deep dish pizza: meat & meat and BBQ chicken
Mel J.

We arrived around 3:15pm and waited about 10 minutes to get seated. We immediately put in the order since we knew that deep dish pizza takes time to be cooked. We ordered small size half meat & meat and half bbq chicken deep dish pizza and 45 mins later the food came out. We love that the base crust was still firm despite the hefty toppings on top. - meat & meat: delicious! We like that it had good fresh tomato sauce and there were lots of meat toppings - BBQ chicken: the sauce was a little too sweet for my liking but the overall dish tasted good. And there was generous amount of chicken pieces. There was a long line when we left after our meal. So, if you don't to wait too long, maybe come in during odd hours (between lunch and dinner time).

We tried this place while visiting Chicago to experience its famous deep-dish pizza. We ordered the Meat and More Meat specialty pizza. It was pretty much what we expected--hearty and filling, though a bit too salty for our taste. Good, but nothing particularly memorable. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant has a classic American sports bar atmosphere with plenty of TVs, making it a nice spot to enjoy a meal and watch a game.

This Giordano's location is my go to spot when I'm in Chicago. Chicago is an Amtrak hub, so when I'm taking Amtrak on long distance routes for my Roaming Rails YouTube channel, this is where I spend my time between trains as it's a short walk away. The Pepperoni deep dish stuffed is my favorite. It's so good that I crave it at times when I haven't been to Chicago for a while. Flakey delicious crust stuffed with a generous portion of melted cheese and pepperoni. It's my favorite style of deep dish pizza, and other places that do stuffed deep dish aren't quite as good. If you are going to the Chicago Amtrak station for any reason, do yourself a favor and make time for pizza at Giordano's. Great food, kind but stretched service. It takes 45min for pizza to cook so the key u order the pizza when you get on the waitlist. We were seated in about10 min ( Sunday night 7pm) . Ordered salad and drinks , got those , then the pizza came shortly after.

THE SPECIAL - DEEP DISH Sausage, mushrooms, green peppers & onions.
David C.

Hate to say this, but this Giordano's pizza was seriously disappointing. Staff was great, location was great -- pizza was...not great. I dined solo and ordered a small deep dish Special (Sausage, mushrooms, green peppers & onions). Size was fine, good enough for 2-3 ppl, but it lacked in flavor, ingredients, and structure. The "toppings" were visible with each bite, but I sure couldn't taste them. Also, are deep dish pizzas supposed to have a liquidity puddle under the crust? This lunch turned into one of those sad meals where you feel obligated to finish your food, but don't really enjoy much of it. Disappointing since I was visiting town from CA and wanted to experience the famous Chicago deep dish. Oh well, on to the next!

Honestly this is my first visit to Chicago. My wife and daughter recommended to eat at Giordano's for their deep dish pizza. When I came in their was no line. We sat down immediately. I was ready to order one of those iconic deep dish but the waiter said it would take 45 min to make. That is wild. If that's the case they need to tell their patrons to order ahead before they come in. So I ordered a Chicago Classic tavern style crust instead and that took about 30 min. And a coworker of mine ordered a personal Margherita thin crust pizza. Both pizza came out as ordered but were not hot. They were warm to touch. The pizza sauce is the key to this place. That is some fresh tomatoes they use for their pizzas. I recommend it to come for the experience and to try the sauce it's unique. Very flavorful, fresh and deep. The atmosphere is like any other sports bar feel. Very active and vibrant.

Sharon E.

If you come here, definitely stick to the deep dish and fries--both were great! However, the thin crust chicken pizza left a lot to be desired. Service and wait times were average--though it took close to 35 minutes for them to make the thin crust pizza, even though the restaurant wasn't very crowded. They gave us a heads-up that it would take time, but 35 minutes is a stretch. Still, it was a scorching hot day, so we didn't mind hanging out inside to cool off for a bit!

I visited this location for lunch during a recent Amtrak layover in Chicago. To say this location is amazing is an understatement, as it is a 5 to 10 minute walk from Union Station. I had the lunch special, which consists of a personal deep dish or thin crust pizza and your choice of a house salad, Caesar salad, cup of soup, regular or parmesan garlic fries for $10.99. The special is daily and lasts until 3 PM. I got the deep dish pepperoni pizza and parmesan garlic fries. They were both delicious and I was so stuffed after 2 slices of pizza that I kept the leftovers for dinner. The service was fast and I barely waited for my food despite it being lunchtime. I liked the look and atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant is quite large and didn't seem crowded. I would like to come back with friends and get a regular size pizza!

Erica M.

The service was excellent. The flavor of the pizza was good however, I do feel like toppings that I had at the other place () was a bit better but I did enjoy my pizza. Crossed deep dish off my list; don't have to do that again

We came in for an early dinner (3:45pm) and were sat quickly. Christian was our server and incredibly attentive. Right off the bat, he was upfront and said if we ordered a deep dish it would take about 45 min to cook, which we appreciated. We had heard to be prepared for a long wait so we came in knowing. So we enjoyed our beers and relaxed while waiting on our food. When our food did come out it was piping hot. We got the 10", which is good for 2-3 people. I was only able to eat one slice before feeling full. My partner had two so we had like 2 or 3 slices to take home with us. The pizza is pretty pricey in my opinion but I love a Chicago deep dish, so worth it for a stop in.

For some reason, I overlooked reviewing it then, but I never forgot it, so I was ecstatic when I found out my company's annual offsite team dinner would be hosted at Ema. Our group of 35 was pretty large, so we were split up amongst several tables, but it was nice getting to chat in smaller groups. Our drink orders were taken not long after we were seated, and the food and bevvies started to arrive in short order. I got to try way more during my business trip than I did 4 years ago, but regardless, I noted the quality of food that was served remained consistent over the years. Highlights for me included the salmon, Greek village spread, pita bread, chocolate torte, and honey cake. The salmon was so mild and tender, the Greek village spread taster local and refreshing, and the pita bread was seasoned to perfection and hands down the best I've ever had. The desserts were a surprisingly delicious end to the meal. I didn't think I could stomach more food, but somehow I rallied. I don't even like chocolate that well, but the chocolate torte really hit the spot, and the honey cake was a new-to-me decadent dessert. It reminded me of the flavor of honey grahams but in cake form. I've never had anything quite like it and am really glad I got to try it. Coming back to Ema after 4 years was better than I expected. I love Mediterranean food, and after 5 total trips to Chicago, I must say Ema is so far my favorite restaurant here. I'm not easy to please, but Ema serves up some of the best this city has to offer.

Travel is hell when you have celiac. I am sensitive to the parts per million level and one bad bite…read moreof food can keep me up all night, or send me to bed or the hotel bathroom for days. I will spare the details. I am not a gluten free trendy who has a pastry for desert; this is an issue that's followed me my whole life. Usually when trveling, I end up eating carrots, rotisserie chicken and coldcuts when my supply of hard boiled eggs runs out. Every now and then I hit the jackpot. I arrived in Chicago on a Thrusday afternoon in September and first thing, set out around the neighborhood to find a restaurant where I might be able to eat. All the usual kinds of places (naerly all of them corporate) were out of the discussion when I spotted Doc Bs at 55 E. Grand Ave. The exterior was low-key but for some reason I was drawn to it. I went in to check the place out. Usually this part of the discussion goes like a legal deposition. "What do you know, and how do you know it?" I asked for a menu; I was handed one and began to read carefully. Among other things, they offered a kind of rice bowl dish, a bit like hot poke (the Wok Out Bowl). It came with a diversity of sauces -- Curry, Sesame Teriyaki , Sweet & Spicy Thai, etc. I said, "Which of these sauces has no gluten?" "All of them," said someone named Cassandra, responding in a confident voice. She was the general manager. "Our company takes food sensitivity very seriously. We also have gluten free deep fryers." I pushed a little harder: Cassanda said she could account for every ingredient in every dish on the menu. Right away I was having a 1 in 1000 expeience. Even in the top tier of places aware of the gluten issue (which is no longer vogue), I am often saved by a server who has a clue what goes into the food. Cross-contamination is an issue; as is ignorance about product. Gluten-safe dining is usually based on a stripped down menu; and some places commit outright fraud by neglecting to mention known issues in the kitchen but still saying GF on the menu. My theory of keeping gluten out of restaurant food is **start with none, and add it only where you need it**, which is nearly in nothing. She said that's exactly what we do. My second theory of gluten free is **parity of experience**. That means that everyone at the table has an equivalent experience. The whole table does not enjoy sumptuous deserts while the GF person gets canned pears. At Doc B's I could eat anything on the menu, including French fries and chips and salsa (small, taken-for-granted pleasures by most diners). My third theory of gluten free dining is **no gluen free upcharge.** It's tacky, and adds insult to injury (especially when a GF bun or bread is subpar, as was NOT the case at Doc B's). Doc B's got 100% on all counts. That and the food was consistently excellent. I ate there seven times over five days trying many things (but having a lot of Wok Out bowls). I sent several people and brought four different friends, one of whom had such such extreme dietary restrictions he could usually order an apple. They accommodated him perfectly, with a positive attitude. And there you have it. This gets the highest possible rating from the Gluten Avenver -- seven stars. -- Eric F Coppolino

Luckily the window high top bar-seats were available. Not great for catching up in conversation over a meal, but it was better than the a fast food place nearby. The food was great! We had the guacamole as an appetizer - if you don't like cilantro - you will want to avoid it. It was an interesting appetizer, as it came with sweet potato chips. Both were good...not sure it pairs well. (I saved the guacamole for my burger) I had the wedge burger, primarily for the egg. It was great! The burger was perfectly cooked as was the sunny side up egg. I ordered it with a side of fries. Perfectly cooked fries. They give huge portions. I was able to share with my friends. I ordered a cranberry and tonic for a beverage. It was great, however, they served it in a "bar" glass, so it was not a lot of liquid. I had to order two. I prefer pint glasses for non-alcohol beverages. Tasted great, just needed more. Prices are reasonable for a city restaurant. Without tip for 4 adults, 4 entrees and 1 appetizer and soda-water beverages. It came to about $130. Parking...If you can walk or take a ride share. It's the city and parking options aren't great.
