This is a must when visiting Chicago. The decor is for certain a Chicago vibe. Red and white table decor and comfortable booths. The server was fantastic. She let us know up front the pizzas take between 45 minutes to an hour. Even the thin crust. We ordered the special pizza, sausage and peppers with a ton if cheese and sauce. Wonderful mix of flavors. It is so filling that you only need one slice. . read more

Man, I'm still thinking about this pizza - even more so after I saw someone carry a Giordano pizza box on a plane back to Canada. Grabbed 1 pizza and split it into two - meat lovers and a custom veggie dish with feta. Both delicious. Ordered Parmesan fries as we waited. It will take approximately 45min for your deep dish to be made It's a heavy pizza, I could only eat 2 slices. The best part, eating the leftover at the hotel the next day - it was the best thing ever! Cold deep dish pizza leftover - man hit the spot. Wish there was one of these in Toronto. Highly recommend! read more

My first Chicago pie and Giordano's did not disappoint! Was Giordano's my 1st choice, no, I had recs for other places but when I pulled up to the hotel and Giordano's was right across the street it was fate. We got a 10" chicago pie, it was the one that had had peppers, mushrooms and pepperoni. They said it would take 45 min, but either the convo was great or it came out in less time? They have a photographer go around and take photos which is a cute nice touch (great for a group or families). Now the pizza was so good, I ended up eating 1 slice and a teeny tiny slice- should have stopped at 1, because I was stuffed, likely because it was full of cheese- like an unreal amount. The peppers and pepperoni and mushrooms were there but not a ton. Crust was divine literally like a buttery pie crust but to me the star was the sauce- just so good and why I went back for a second slice. I'd definitely recommend and am happy that Giordano's was my 1st!! read more

Ordered deep dish pizza and an assortment of appetizers. Appetizers were what you would find in your frozen section of the grocery store and sauces came out of various bottles. I called in an order today at 6:21, pick up was told 6:50. When I checked in the lady at the front said it would be 7 pm before it was ready. No problem. 7:15 I am getting antsy... she says we are busy and running behind.... Ok well people I saw come in and order after me have their food. 7:30 she offers me a free soda or water- I remind her it has been over an hour since I ordered- she argues with me and then finally acknowledges something went wrong. Seconds later she calls my name gives me pizza and salad. I leave for my hotel - alas, the wrong pizza and salad... someone else's order. Shocking right. She actually calls me to come back to get the right food. Not a chance. Avoid this location at ALL costs. Service was awful and a veggie thin crust isn't what you come to Giardanos for. Gross. If I could give zero stars.... read more

First let me say stop and go somewhere else. This place was worst so called Italian restaurant. We did have a great server and she was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered the Caesar salad, bolognese pasta, buffalo wings, bbq chicken deep dish pizza, and thin meats pizza. The Caesar salad is just that a salad, they couldnt mess that up, buffalo wings had so much sauce that it was everywhere, the bolognese pasta was horrible. Just buy a can of chef boyardee, it has more flavor than that pasta. The BBQ chicken deep dish was ok, but the thin meats were so much better. Def wont be back, just a disappointment! read more

We ordered beers, an appetizer, and a deep-dish pizza - the reason we came. Only after ordering were we told the oven was broken. No updates came for over an hour. I told the manager we would leave in 10 minutes under failure of consideration, a well-established principle in common law: we only agreed to the drinks and app on the assumption the pizza would arrive. They rushed out a discounted pizza just within the deadline - but it was undercooked and not remotely up to Giordano's usual quality. A consumer should not bear the cost of a company's internal failures. I truly feel for the servers left to handle frustrated guests - this wasn't on them. But for a Friday night in Chicago, this was a major disappointment. I've visited Giordano's 20+ times over the years. This was the worst experience by far. I regret not walking out the moment they said the oven was broken. About 20 minutes before the pizza finally arrived, our server still had no update on whether the oven was even fixed. The menu itself clearly states that deep dish takes approximately 40 minutes. Given that, the final pizza appearing suddenly - after nearly an hour with no status - only raised more questions about quality and preparation. It felt like a scramble, not a service recovery. This wasn't just a delay; it was a breakdown of basic communication and expectations. Honestly, I was initially very happy to see how much the manager comped us. However, after seeing the final product, I'm appalled I let myself be taken advantage like this... In fact, in hindsight, it was so rushed that the manager delivered it to us not knowing we ordered it to go. It wasn't till the manager walked away that the server kindly offered us plates. Truly, I have LOVED Giordano's my entire life. That is why I took my girlfriend there for her first time, on our first meal in Chicago. I could not have made a worse decision to spend our night. read more

I can't speak to the ambiance as we had it delivered to the office. However, they were prompt! We order BBQ and Spicy wings and a Chicago deep dish. I wanted to try it for the first time! It was beautiful .. first bite or two ... yummy. But after that it became overwhelming. Something was lacking. I can't say it wasn't good. The crust was fabulous. Definitely can't eat one slice. But, it wasn't what I hoped it would be. Not their fault, I just don't think I'm a fan of that style of pizza. Removed one star as the boneless buffalo wings were way over sauced. Sauced that would make you cough, not due to heat, but just overwhelmingly saturated. The BBQ ones were okay. read more

I had a decent experience at Giordano's. Pizza was what I expected and took a while to come out (they mentioned this to us). Insane cheese pulled and tasty crust. The Giordano outlet did not live upto my expectations and experience of the previous day at Giordano at the Navy Pier. Surprisingly, the two outlets use different recipes. The minestrone soup here had chicken broth (unlike at the Navy Pier, as I specifically check being vegetarian), the marinara sauce at both the places are made very differently and while the Navy Pier accommodated switching to Fettuccine, this outlet said they don't have Fettuccine; sounded quite surprising for an authentic Italian eatery to say so. Not too impressed so can't recommend this particular one. read more

Downsizing. Downgrading. Downhill. What happened to our beloved Giordano's deep dish pizza? It has been a favorite for 40 plus years. Unfortunately, tonight it was a major disappointment. No more tender and flaky thick crust, no more creamy and luscious cheese filling, and no joy. Mediocre taste and miserly size. The pizza is different, and it is not a change for the better. read more

I wish I could say I had a great experience with this location. I've been to other Giordano's so I know what to expect. Generally, a great experience and food but not this time. The decor is just like any other location. I had arrived shortly after 7pm on a Monday night and the restaurant was busy. Luckily, I was seated right away at a small table. Kayla W, server, did greeted me in a few minutes. No big deal - gave me time to review the menu. Kayla was very pleasant even though she was busy. I decided to have the Starter Caesar Salad and Lasagna with Alfredo Sauce and a Pepsi for a beverage. Few minutes later, Kayla brought the soda and the beverage. The salad was a great starter size and delicious. As I was finishing, she brought the Lasagna. The piece was not as large as I thought it'd be, however, it was okay. The more I was eating it, I noticed the piece seemed to be a little soggy, but I didn't think anything of it. I only ate half of the slice. Kayla did check in with me. However, once I went back to the nearby hotel, within the hour, I was praying to the porcelain god..... I just hope other customers didn't have the same experience. Again, I've had great experiences at other locations. So yes, I'll continue to eat at Giordano's, maybe not at this location. read more

When in Chicago, one must stop for some Chicago pizza! This place was highly rated so we stopped to give it a try. It was fairly crowded and we waited almost 40 min to get a seat. We went early b/c we were anticipating a likely wait, so it was not too bad. Once sedated, we did not wait all that long to be served. We ordered a meaty pizza and my wife ordered a chicken salad. The salad looked just OK if I am being honest. The pizza was very saucy and deep. It was definitely filling and we enjoyed the taste. This is a recommended place if you are visiting Chicago. I can't say it was the absolutely best pizza I tried in Chicago, but it was still worth a trip. read more

OOEY GOOEY CHEESINESS DELIGHT! Gonna visit Chicago, you say? We were told a "must try" is Chi-Town's version of pizza... The Deep Dish! I'm from Cali, so this version of pizza is foreign to us as there are NO options for THIS style on the Left Coast that peeps yelp about with any gusto. Wonder why that is? Guess we gonna find out as a big boys volleyball tourney brings us to The Windy City! Lots of options for deep dish, and everyone has opinions, sometimes a bit passionately too! Trying to find a spot that will accommodate our group of 24 players & parents is the challenge, but this Giordano's made it work out for us. Nice to see friendly and attentive service here. We got to sit all together too, so even more props to the powers that be here. Dark wood is the motif and a bunch of TV Screens to look at. So what did us first timers indulge in? Funny you ask lol CHICAGO CLASSIC DEEP DISH: First time here, gotta start with "the classic" for initiation, right? Small size to start, as we weren't sure what we were getting into lol. Didn't see anyone with big pies on their tables during our stroll through either so this must be the norm? Very different from the normal California pies we are use to, as there is an impressive tallness to these. It's a heavy chunk of something as I pull out the first piece and a nice cheese stretch as I pull away! Mmmmm! Can't really hold it to eat it so plates and utensils are needed. First bite... SO CHEESY, flavorful red sauce compliments the cheese well, and the combination of pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions have a tasteful synergy. It's a lot of dough if you save the edge crust to the end, so ask for some extra marinara sauce for dipping or attack the back & front at the same time. Good stuff but very filling! For me I think next time I will pass on the bell peppers as I felt it distracted from cheesy flavor and red sauce taste. Even though there is a lot of crust to consume, the VERY generous amount of cheese that is on this pie helps compensate and balance it all out. I LOVE melty cheese and Giordano's does that REALLY well! BACON BBQ CHICKEN DEEP DISH: Our family loved this! Crust and cheesiness still the same as The Classic but the textures and flavors are completely different! BBQ sauce is pleasantly sweet, not overpowering. Chicken pieces are tender and the bacon adds a yummy crunchiness to the pie. No leftover for this pie! All in all, THIS pie we would order again on an any return to Chicago! VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! Having tried the other big name Chicago deep dish spot, I prefer Giordano's because of their overwhelming cheesiness to their pies. And us California peeps aren't really big on crust, more of what's on top of the crust. That fact that this location also accommodated our large party on a Saturday night and was spot on, on service, really sets them apart! Thank you for taking care of our team and allowing to us to enjoy Chicago eats together! :) read more

Visiting from Texas, heard a lot of this place so decided to check it out after our Skydeck experience. It was packed but we didn't mind waiting. Host was very friendly. We ordered our pizza ahead of time so it was ready by the time we sat down to eat. We sat a good 10-15 minutes before a server came to take our drink order. 2 other parties had sat after us & had already placed their orders. We never received our pizza but did get our pasta which was cold unfortunately. We ended up just giving up on receiving our pizza after we realized we weren't going to get our servers attention for awhile. Since the pasta was cold, we ended up just leaving. We went to another location & the experience & food was much better. I'm thinking they were having an off day. read more

Went to Chicago for the first time. We decided to see if the Giordano's deep dish pizza was for real or all hype. No bs, it was delicious. We bought a medium deep dish pizza. After doing a mid-morning tour of the Willis Tower, we were looking forward to a filling lunch at Giordano's just down the street. When we arrived at about 11:30 AM, it wasn't very busy. Perhaps 5 or 6 other tables were occupied and the wait staff were mostly chatting in the back. We put in our order and prepared to wait for 45 minutes because it's so prominently posted. As it approached noon, tons of patrons started piling in and there was a lot of activity from the wait staff. To our surprise, our pie arrived in under 30 minutes. Unfortunately the middle was lukewarm and the crust was slightly underdone. It was passable but very disappointing. Our server came by once to check in on things and was prompt with our bill. Seems like he wanted us out sooner than later. Would I go back? With the abundance of good deep dish pizza in Chicago, I would say that I wouldn't try this location again. I would try a different Giordano's (and give them a second chance) if its convenient but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way. read more

I ended up staying in Chicago an extra day for my trip so I ended up coming to this place. You can't come to Chicago without getting a slice of deep dish pizza, that's the rules. Empty tables everywhere and the lobby is overpacked with 45 minute waits. The management really needs to do a better job at organizing and running this location. First meal in Chicago for my first-ever visit to Chicago! I've always wanted to eat an authentic Chicago-deep-dish pizza, so I made Giordano's my first meal here! I came with my vocal coach, who's local to Chicago, and treated her to a birthday meal. We ordered the Chicago classic, and added chicken sausage and pineapples. We ordered a medium, which was plenty for both of us. I even let my vocal coach take the last 2 slices as take-out since I had to fly out later that day, and I didn't want to take pizza with me to the airport. Was very happy that the pizza was rather light, and didn't feel too heavy nor greasy. Crust is also light with a nice crunch to it. My voice coach commented she's not feeling her throat act up in reaction to the pizza (generally we try to avoid cheese and dairy for our vocal health), so that was great! For her birthday, she also got ice cream with a candle and a cookie! What a great experience here. Thanks Giordano's! read more

Absolute worst customer service from the girl handling the front check in. She is extremely rude and purposely trying to have people not put their name in and wait. She is telling everyone 45-1hr wait and being very rude about it. For those that don't leave are getting seated in about 10 minutes. This is 9:30pm on 7/20/25. I understand how busy this place is but the communication when your table is ready was horrible. We were told to order our pizza while we waited so by the time we sat down our pizza would be ready! Incorrect we waited for our table for 45 minutes then our pizza for another 45! The reviews win again. Giordano's upholds the reputation of Chicago deep dish pizza well! On a two-hour layover on our train ride from LA to Michigan, we googled this restaurant, an easy, scenic distance from Chicago's Union Transit Center. We told our waiter were were in the clock and he did all he could to put our order through quickly. Beware: the deep dish takes 45-minutes to cook from scratch. Oh so worth the wait, especially when there calamari appetizer out in a flash. The crispness and flavor was perfect. I'm a pepper fan so would have enjoyed a few more peppers in the mix, otherwise, it was delish. Our pizza came out just under 45-minutes. We ordered the a Chicken Sausage Deluxe. The flavors were wonderful and so fresh. Chunky tomato sauce, tasty Italian sausage, fresh spinach and many mushrooms. We were hungry and couldn't eat more than two pieces. Boxes the other slices for a late night train ride snack. The other passengers will be so jealous. This restaurant will be our go to after a train ride to Chicago. 3% service charge added to pay staff instead of including it in the menu prices. I don't get it. Just include it in the menu prices. The menu says you can ask for it to be waived but that's awkward. Just include it in the price if that's what it cost to run your restaurant and pay the employees. These sneaky charges are such BS. Super famous restaurant and it was luckily next to Skydeck tower too where were went for the high tower experience and when my wife felt of eating deep dish again before catching the flight the same day. Ordered to-go thinking we would get it quick and we can go to car parking and eat there. It is a premium location and car parking is way too expensive since we did not get any street parking. However, they literally took 40 minutes to give our pizza and we had to go a few times to the guy asking about it. Seems they prioritized the dine-in customers more than us. We went for medium size and repented as it is too much to eat for 2 people since these are deep dish.
