Came to Giordano for the second time just to see if it was a fluke cause I haven't seen any of the Arancini anywhere else in the city like the ones they make here I have to say that those are the best ones I've ever tasted and I figured out something about Chicago style pizza. There's three different type, a deep dish, a thin cracker and the original dough and I believe that deep dishes is a gimmick and the best pizza is the thin crust. I don't know why they don't advertise that one more but anyway the pizza at.Giordano's is wonderful. I got the barbecue chicken, a meat and a pepperoni 10 inch thin crust for my son along with garlic fries and the house salad. Everything was good. The service was excellent I hate that the only two things I remember about our server is that she was excellent nice very knowledgeable about the food and just super cool and she had a dimple in her chin I wish I got her name but she was excellent we went at night and the USA soccer team just won it first game or match so the vibe in the restaurant was good I really like this restaurant chain and would come back against n and again. read more

I have been a patron of this chain since 198? But this time, and this place has me out of sorts. I ordered a pizza they call it Tavern style. I had it before sitting at this same restaurant not two months ago! Picking up my pizza as the last order of the day it was not ready as it should have been at 10:00 pm. I've been ordering pizza from this place for 15 years, but my experience today was extremely disappointing. Our new tavern-style Margherita pizza was served cold and burnt. When I picked it up, the pizza was already sitting in the box and had not been kept in a warmer. It appeared to have been handled very carelessly. We had to reheat the pizza ourselves when we got home. The customer service was also very poor, and we were not offered any discount, credit, or other resolution for the poorly prepared and served pizza. As a long-time customer, I can no longer recommend this place. Everything about this experience felt rushed and poorly executed. The crust was unpleasant, the pizza quality was disappointing, and the overall service fell far below expectations. I am extremely disappointed, and after 15 years of loyalty, they have lost a long-time customer. We had to try the famous deep dish pizza while in Chicago but we will never ever order it again. Its a sickening amount of cheese with no other flavor. The thinnest layer of sauce so all you can taste is cheese. Its disgusting. I ordered the Gluten free thin crust half pepperoni, half sausage. I swear it must have had at least 2lbs of cheese on it. The sausage was good because it actually had some seasoning and not just cheese flavor. Everyone hated the regular deep dish as well because the cheese was incredibly overwhelming. This review is for the Blackstone location. Here's the thing, I made the decision to order a pizza before taking in a movie. Giordano's was absolutely the wrong choice. My issue here has NEVER been the pizza itself, hence the two stars. But notice that the image I attached says pick up 30 minutes AFTER ordering right? Nowhere on this is there a disclaimer that (well, it might take a kazillion yers longer depending on what you order). I ordered a personal deep dish cheese. Six inch. No toppings. No gymnastics. . When I finalized the order ONLY THEN did it slide to the time that was ... wait for it .. more than 1.5 hours later for me to pick it up!!!!!!!!! I couldn't even book a movie time with that kind of spread. So I called the store because 1.5 hours was not going to cut it. Here's where it gets interesting. Now I'm told by the manager that I have the "real time" and I can get a refund. Cool. Will take a few days, though. Hmph. My issue is that they should take off that incorrect information of pick up time is "30 minutes after ordering", and say that pick up time is calculated once your order is placed. See? It's tiny and obviously aimed for pick up and delivery but the dine in experience was alright too. Our waiter was new and maybe not the most on top of things but he tried. I ordered a thin crust Margherita pizza. It was absolutely awful. Not only did it arrive cold, but it was paper thin! I've never been served a pizza that looked like that. There could not have been more than a few ounces of food in that box. It resembled a large tortilla with cheese on it. It did NOT have basil on it. It was just a flour tortilla with sauce and cheese. I ordered to have Giordano's delivered to friends of our who just had a sweet little baby girl. I did it online and set a delivery time of 6pm. I get a buzz from the driver at 5:20 saying he's going to be a touch early. "No problem I'll just let my friends know it'll be early, thanks for the heads up!" My friend rings me around 6:30. With 11 people, I was worried we would have trouble getting seated, especially since its first-come-first-serve (no reservations on weekends). They made it work. We ordered at 4:40pm told it would be a long wait ( 2 hours) at 7:45pm our pizzas were delivered. I am not really a fan of this Giordano's. It is very small in comparison to your typical location. If you are a party larger than 4 you may have a but of a wait. Our waitress was a bit slow as we had to repeatedly ask for refills for a party of 4. My induction to the real Chicago deep dish pizza. Having lived up in NorCal and having Zachary's in Berkeley/Oakland for years, I can now say I can tell the subtle differences. Zach's is still very much a Chicago style pizza but there are some CA elements to it. The sauce is sweeter and the crust more buttery, with the spinach and mushroom being the staple. While at Giordano's the sauce was more savory and the crust a bit drier with a sausage, mushroom, and peppers, being the pride and joy. Even though they're similar, they're still worlds apart and I love them both. We came here for a post wedding rehearsal lunch and ordered pretty much every special pizza listed on the menu. Not one of those pies went undevoured. As an absolute pizza lover I can now proudly add Giordano's to the pizza quiver. read more

NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT: Menu with larger print, larger drinking straws, given way too many napkins, chicken wing appetizer was cold, two small deep dish pizzas [The Special with sausage, mushroom, green pepper, and onion pizza and the Super Veggie] weren't served hot.
