Ok I love Naf Naf. I have tried probably all of their locations and the quality and flavor just hit every single time. Their spicy hummus bowl is so beyond delicious. The falafel adds the perfect crunch and flavor, combine that with all the pickled goodies and veggies with tahini, the new moroccan sauce and harissa, omg. You have the perfect bowl with incredibly flavorful bites. My husband loves getting the chicken shawarma hummus bowl or plate. I love that it comes with a side pita that is always perfectly soft and toasted. The naf naf fries if you're feeling indulgent add the perfect crisp to the bowls. I've been to this location several times and there is a lack of consistency when food is served. One visit the food maybe piled high and appealing to the eye, the next time the server may be counting the grains of rice. Today, I ordered a Build your Plate for $12.95 and the rice and veggies did not cover the bottom of the plate. But the final straw....I found a long strain of black hair in my mouth that had been embedded in the food. Thus an entire $13 plate was tossed. Visited today for the 1st time, I had the basmati rice bowl with steak and that garlic sauce. The sauce is what took the bowl to 5 stars for me. Service was fast and pleasant; the price point was really good as well. Ask for extra pota bread; it's soft and warm and accompanies the rice dish well. Love this chain. Food is different. Appealing. A bit on the expensive side but good. Always clean. Bathrooms as they should be. For a fast food, generally 4 stars. My issue is how inconsistent this specific location is. Been there 4 times. On the 1st visit, just after they opened, the issue was the portions. We had to insist to have even a reasonable amount of food in the bowls we ordered. Funny that other people here mention the same. We almost left but it all worked when who I thought was the manager intervened. Because of this we went back, twice, actually having a great experience with a server who sadly I don't recall his name. Promising. Today we are back, Feb 27, 2022. 2:30 pm and the dining room was surprisingly dirty and messed up. Every single table in need of cleaning. Food on the floors. All the chairs out of place. Seriously this place deserves ZERO stars! Sorry guys, I was too aghast to take a photo.... Let's start with the staff... our starting lineup is the manager who literally JUST started working there (they've only been open less than a month) and is giving customers attitude, is out of PITA, and can't seem to make the bowls Naf Naf are known for. My husbands bowl was so small it would've left a toddler looking for more. Next up are the rest of the staff, who stay fixed in motion until she barks orders at them and then they come to life. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE Naf Naf. Just not this one. And I'm all for shopping in my neighborhood, I just don't know why we can't get things right here in Oak Lawn. I passed by this spot the week before and decided to try them. I have gone to their other locations in Orland Park(now closed) & Rosemont. I just knew this spot would be equal to them being brand new....well.... It is a recently opened location, nice exterior...very clean and bright. The food preparers were nice. This location had way more employees than the other locations; it was about 8 of them versus the others have 3-4. Also I noticed this location is not as generous with their portions. Actually my husband's bowl was barely half full. Each location is franchised. Assuming this location was new and want to watch the bottom line. The cashier accidentally charged me for an extra pita that I did not order; co-owner gave me refund and apologized. The food tasted the same as the other locations. The lentil soup is good. I might be back in a few months just to check up on their status, otherwise I'll make the trip to the Rosemont location. read more

As far as local vegan options go, it's rough sometimes. When they closed the Naf Naf in Orland Park, I was super bummed, but...then they opened one on 95th, and I'm back to happy! They have a few things to work out here still. I've been twice, and each time my falafel was a bit hard and overcooked, but everything in time. I'll give it the five starts it deserves when I get my falafel done right. But for now, four stars for being close and having tons of vegan options! Yes, the pitas are vegan! Soooo good. read more

Let me start by saying that the quality and service here has improved drastically over the past couple months. If you are here in the past and didn't care for it, give it another chance. The employees are different from before so I am sure that has alot to do with it. The ones from before would barely make eye contact with you and would give you cold food. Now, they don't skimp out on portions and they food taste more fresh. They have new sauces and the potato "fries" are to die for! The food is even better as soon as they open obviously but just had some before they closed and it was still delicious and satisfying. The food is great the service is not. The woman (Indian) who prepared our food did not understand nor speak English well. After repeating or order several times we moved on to pay. That's when the problem happened and caused my card to be flagged for from because this woman was too preoccupied to help me with the device. Tapping the card was not working properly and I asked for help. She did not so much so that she rudely asked did I even have money for the food. I did and I was completely offended. My sister who I was taking to lunch paid for our lunch. Had my sister not wanted this food after her comment I would have left the restaurant and the food. It was bad service. First time in Chicago and I stopped here while my friends ordered Panera next door. I just got a bowl with rice and chicken shawarma with pita and a bottle of water and it came out to roughly $16. The rice was probably the best part but the chicken and pita were also pretty good. The food made me sick though. I think $16 for chicken and rice is already kind of expensive for the portion size but adding stomach problems on top of that price was also not worth it. I had never heard of this chain before, but decided to bypass other big chains to support a smaller place. What an excellent decision that was! The staff was energetic and friendly. They could tell we hadn't been before, so we got some free samples of the falafel (which was delicious). I had the chicken shawarma pita with chopped salad and Jerusalem pickles. I love the NafNaf grill in orland when it was open. The food was better and the service and manager better. The problem I have at this location is that the servers are not wearing mask while preparing the food. They are talking over it and spit is flying everywhere. I've gone in there twice to try to convince myself to just get some darn food. But I can't bring myself to do. Even the waiters and waitresses in $ to $$$$ restaurants wear mask to bring you your food. Then when I mentioned it, the manager got snarky. You should want to safe guard your customers. If you want the chipotle version of Mediterranean food then it's right up your alley. I love it! I thought I was taking a risky chance because I know nothing of this cultures cuisine. My manager ordered some food from this other place and I really enjoyed it. So I was hoping I'd enjoy this too since it's close to my apartment. I did and I will be coming back as much as I can. I have the build your own plate with falafel and crispy chicken, basmati rice, and cucumber tomato and cilantro salad. I also couldn't choose between the caramel walnut baklava or the traditional pistachio one. So I got both and ate half of each. but they were so good.
