This is a great all you can eat sushi place. I have tried quite a few places of sushi buffets but this place has a decent variety of sushi, appetizers, soups and hibachi with high quality food and amazing service. During this pandemic, they handled everything with care with workers wearing mask and there is hand sanitizer for customers right when you walk in and leave. The prices are fair and I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sushi restaurant with great atmosphere. I've been going to Ginza many times when I used to live in Sarasota area. It doesn't have the most impressive sushi but it can definitely provide a comfort food experience. The price is very reasonable for lunch buffet. It's about $12.95 on weekdays and $14.95 during weekend. There are a variety of sushi. I recommend all specialty sushi (dancing dragon and volcano especially) and hibachi (shrimp and steak). Hand rolls (salmon) are worth trying too. Red bean ice cream is my go to for desert and sesame balls are perfect if you still have room after all that sushi. The only thing is.. they really don't have the best service. My waiter was rude and didn't check on our table frequent enough. But for this price, if you can get over with the occasional unfriendly service, it's a nice lunch place to fulfill that sushi/Asian crave. read more

Great value, concept and food. Unfortunately, the waitress was one of the worst we have ever had. When we arrived, there was a handwritten sign at the door, letting the customers know that it was cash only today. No problem, since we were already there and had planned to try them out, we just walked a few doors down to the WinnDixie to get some more cash. The dinner price is $23.95 and includes all you can eat from everything on their menu. You have the option of buying a la carte but frankly, why would you? Buy 2 rolls and you're already at the dinner AYCE price. They have something for everyone, whether you like sushi or not. From appetizers to entrees, including sushi and sashimi, to desserts. There is also a small bar to purchase mixed drinks separately, of course. We informed the waitress that it was our first time but there wasn't any real assistance or welcoming on her part to help us through it. She left us to look over the menu and came back shortly for our first order. We were verbally discussing a few options amongst ourselves to get started, to which, I swear, looked like she rolled her eyes. She never smiled once at us and seemed very impatient every time we ordered, as if we were bothering her. What's strange is she seemed a lot nicer to the family that came in after us who also seemed to be first timers. A few times she was gone for far too long, mixing drinks behind the bar, taking other orders, etc so we ordered from passing servers who were more than happy to take our orders. Too bad we couldn't switch to one of them! The food always came out promptly. In fact, my husband and I have never had faster service from sushi chefs and we have experienced many over the years. The sashimi was cut a bit thick but was still good and fresh. All the rolls we tried were delicious and held together, as they should. We had an issue with one order of the tempura salmon where the receipt from the back kitchen was included on the plate with a little sauce attached to it. That was the only sloppy serving we received though. All in all, it was a great deal, we all loved the food but the waitress brought it way down for us. Recently came here for dinner on 8/9/2023 after having been here many months prior and to say the least it was the worst experience I've had in any restaurant. We ordered fried rice which came out so dry it could be used as spit balls. I got severe food poisoning from the food here and my order contained - Dumplings (was average and had good crunch) - Fried rice (not only was the rice extremely bland and flavorless but furthermore to the bowl being dirty, the rice was extremely dry as previously stated and seems as if it were to be extremely old) - California rolls (0/10 as the avocado was rotten, and there was no crab in the rolls except for a strand) - Hibachi Chicken (1/10 as the same hardly edible fried rice was served with dry but slimy almost sour tasting chicken which was completely inedible) - Dr Pepper Soda ( white mold looking clumps and particles on top of our drinks and the ice was very dirty and the drinks had a foul smell on top of the dirty cups they were received in) read more

My rule for all you can eat establishments is that they are not worth it unless you can make the establishment lose money on you. So that being said, if you can throw down and pound Asian cuisine, this is your spot. We found the sushi to overall be satisfying and service was VERY quick. If you are doing just sushi and really want to get your money's worth, stick to the specialty rolls. The "Dancing Krab" was a table favorite. Really nice because there are other items on the all you can eat to order other than sushi if you are looking for something else, and you order as many times as you want. Then, when he was not able to eat everything (he did eat most of it), they charged us again. Usually want to test out how the feature restaurant is good enough. I was there before the lunch time for about 15 minutes before noon. It is still ha room and not too crowded. I got my order in before the lunch crowd show up. I have three hand roll, and 38 pieces of roll, two pieces of sushi and a bowl of soup. My records is 44 pieces but this is close. I like their green dragon roll. It is tasty. The hand roll is about little let down. I like most of the signature roll. They do have army of server. They do collect the plate quick. Food come out quick. Turn around is fast. They better than most of the all u can eat sushi place. However, I think the Tampa location is better than here. read more

I've been here a few times and have always been impressed. For $25 in the evening and around $18 at lunch, you can order as much sushi and sashimi as you want as well as other Asian style entrees. So if you're hungry it's definitely worth the price. Otherwise two speciality rolls would cost you about the same. I like that you can order from the menu and it's freshly made for you rather than items being left out on a buffet. My go to is usually a spider roll, but that wasn't my favorite here. The eel was excellent and the hand rolls too. The most annoying thing was how small the seaweed salad portion is. I had to order 5 of them -- but then again I can see why they do that especially when you can order unlimited portions. The place has a nice atmosphere. This place is not good at all. Sushi is very sloppily put together and the raw fish tasted off. The bathrooms have an awful stench and buckets of cleaning products are just left out in the open. Extremely unpleasant. It's just dirty all over the place, crumbs and dirt on the floor. Not something you want to see at a sushi restaurant. Low quality chop sticks, my husbands chopsticks broke in half when he pressed on them a little too much. DO NOT COME HERE! I have been to Ginza in New Tampa many times but this is my first time at the Sarasota location. The selection for dinner is great, $25 per person and it's AYCE. Tons of sushi options to choose from. My favorites are the salmon skin hand rolls, and eel rolls. If you are not a fan of sushi, they also have hibachi, bento box, etc. Located in a shopping plaza, near Target. The place was packed when I was there but wait time was less than 5 mins. Waiter was very attentive and stopped by frequently to take more orders. They had at least 5 sushi chefs so my food came out very quickly. Definitely recommend Ginza to everyone and they deserve more than 3.5 stars! read more

Why is the sushi rice warm/hot? I've been dumbfounded for the last year about this. Every single time, your first order comes out with hot rice. Is this to turn you off from further orders? I stick with the shrimp and my strip from the hibachi round 1, then add in sushi so they don't send it out with hot rice. Food we ordered was mediocre at best. The won ton soup was served at about room temperature. The egg roll tasted OK but was very brittle and hard to chew. Hibachi shrimp serving was plentiful but the shrimp were small and not especially good-tasting. The fried rice (or "frice rice" as the menu calls it) was below average. Tried Gonzalo for the first time yesterday. The food was terrific but the service was terrible. My friend and I both ordered the buffet. The buffet looks like it has so many amazing options to choose from. It is not a self serve buffet, you order from a menu and they are supposed to bring you the food. It's nice to not have to go to a buffet bar but if you end up with a terrible server like we did, it can ruin the experience. They charge a waste surcharge, which I think is a good thing. You just need to be mindful of this when ordering or don't go with the buffet option. The buffet is probably not a wise option for picky eaters. It was dinner time and at first our server came and took our order right away. There were customers but it wasn't crowded. We each ordered a soup to start. When he came back with our soup we ordered a volcano roll, California roll and we each ordered a Crab Rangoon. The egg drop soup was good but the wonton soup had tough wontons. You also have to ask for sauces, they don't automatically bring them to you. They do give you smaller servings and we shared what we ordered. We really enjoyed the volcano roll and Crab Rangoon. I personally wouldn't order the California Roll again. Our server came back and we ordered a curry dish to split, one more order of the volcano roll and one more crab Rangoon. The server took our order but other people brought us the food. After our server took our order for the entree and additional volcano roll, he never returned to our table the rest of the time. We were their for almost two hours and the Curry we ordered never came. I'm not sure where the waiter was most of the night but he wasn't near our table at all. We had to flag him down to get the check so we could leave when we finally did see him again. Total paid, was $65 for two people for non self serve buffet: What we got: 2 waters (no refills ever offered, both of us drank all of our water) 10 pieces of volcano roll 6 pieces of crab Rangoon 5 pieces of California roll 1 egg drop soup 1 Wonton Soup I would have loved to try an actual entree because I think it would have been really good.
