I have been waiting to write this review as I have had the pleasure of helping get this place remodeled and have watched it grow out of its former shell like a butterfly eclosing (yep that's the proper word!) Gino's makes great thin crust pizza, sandwiches, wings, incredible soups (their Texas Chili could win a cook off!) cannoli, ice cream and much much more! A very good selection of soft drinks and The Gaucho Bar is now open! Mix drinks, bourbons, Scotch and a huge choice of can and bottle beer! And soon (whenever they finish it) the light rail will take you right to Gino's Pizza!!!

Supposed to be the garlic Parmesan fries but all I see are burnt ends and a pickle

Used to love Gino's when I was a kid a now it's a big disappointment when I make a to-go order and I get half ass work for my hard earned money pizza was dry and my fries weren't even edible I wish I had something good to say honestly.

Searing, stage, and espresso.

Love this place! Derrick and his wife are amazing hosts offering friendly & personalized service. Their space has fantastic pizza, beer, wine, and spirits, Ms Pac-Man, an amazing selection of vintage shirts, ice cream, candy, espresso, and the best chocolate chip cookies you'll find. Can't wait to go back again for the food, drinks and ambiance. Did I mention live music?!

The setting does a lot of the work: a large, charming garden with plenty of outdoor seating that gives the whole place a cozy, almost village feel. Inside, there's a small bar that's tough to get into, but it's really your only option if you're walking in without a reservation and don't want to wait an hour or more. The kitchen is usually the highlight. With an Italian chef behind it, everything leans fresh and well executed--pizzas consistently shine, and the salads are just as strong. This time, though, the bolognese was a miss. The pasta was clearly overcooked, which stood out given how reliable the food typically is--felt more like an off night than the norm. The wine-by-the-glass list is solid and approachable, and the many awards feel well deserved overall. A diverse staff adds to the cosmopolitan yet relaxed atmosphere. Even with the misstep, Cibo holds its place as one of the better all-around dining experiences downtown.

The restaurant is a converted house, with most of the seating being in what had been the yard. There are a number of shade trees here, plus they have umbrellas, fans, and misters to keep it comfortable. It *may* be possible to sit inside as well, but this would likely require a reservation much further out than ours. The outside dining area was packed the whole time we were there. The outside tables were relatively comfortable when we ate here. They moved an umbrella over to block the setting sun for about 20 minutes, which was great. It looked like they had a musician tuning up her guitar but she had not started before we left. The menu featured selections of pastas, pizzas, and salads. We sampled 3 pizzas, all of which were good. As we were travelling and flying out the next morning, 2 of us split one, which was perfect for not having leftovers. The 4 in our group also sampled an appetizer composed of a fried rice ball with cheese. I was skeptical, but it was actually good. Parking is on-street, as there did not appear to be a dedicated lot for the restaurant itself. It was a busy area, but we did end up finding some spaces about a block and a half away in a residential area. I would definitely be up for another meal here.

Even though it was busy, they were able to seat us outside on the patio right away. If I make it back, I'll make reservations so I can enjoy the ambience inside the building. The food was definitely the star of the show. We tried the Federal Chop, which was fresh and delicious, but the pizza was the real standout. We went for the "Double Down" deal--the half-pizza and half-salad combo is a great way to try both. The pizza crust was amazing (perfectly chewy and charred) and the pepperoni was cooked to that ideal crispy-edged perfection. My only minor gripes were that the service was a slightly on the slow side and the traffic noise from Central Ave can be quite loud. If you're looking for a quiet conversation, try to snag a spot inside, but for the food alone, it's absolutely worth a visit! Even though the initial service could have been quicker, the server was great once he did make it by.

The service from the waiters has not been the best.. on our last visit we stopped in for lunch I ordered a half pizza/salad and hubby ordered a pan pizza. Now I know they can take a while but why was my food delivered 30 minutes before his (might even be underestimating) people who came in after us ordered, got their food and left all before we got his pizza. The server seemed as if she didn't want to help us. I ordered a sprite and it was FLAT, I asked if I could switch it for a coke because it was flat. She picks it off the table and doesn't say a word. The coke was still flat but I just left it alone. After that she wouldn't even look at me only speaking to my husband like if I had pissed her off. Nonetheless we won't be back, I don't think it's worth dealing with the crappy service

Kaitlyn, the cashier at the pickup counter, was amazing--her energy, friendliness, and dedication to making sure I was satisfied with my order were impeccable! This is an embarrassment to anything Chicago or Wrigley related. Barely any beef and some nasty sausage patty, served with a bag of chips. This was not edible, so I just picked off the beef. The pizza was decent, but I can get better from Rosatti's. The worst part of the meal was the calzone. It was disgusting and barely warm. We all took small portions to taste and none found it edible. We left almost the entire order on the rack, aside from the pieces on our plates. Did the server care to ask? No, but more on that later. The small cheese with Ricotta was barely ok, but the ricotta was not as fresh as served at DeFalcos or Vero in East Valley. Service: AWFUL. We told the server that we want the large pizza to be our appetizer and then bring the rest of the food out. Nope. She brought everything out together. Refills? Had to try and finally get her attention. Never asked about our food. Didnt ask why the calzone was barely touched and we didn't want it to go either. Overall: Not coming back period.
