First time here. First off there's an amazing menu with anything you can think of. The pizza is amazing House salad was huge and had a fantastic variety of veggies with a house made balsamic. So, I have been dying to try Gino's of Long Beach for FOREVER. (Yay for Instagram, right?!) And I have to take a second here to GUSH about their quality. We shared a square pie that was half Grandma's and half vodka/fresh mozz/ pepperoni/hot honey with dollops of ricotta. (This is called 'The G' and it comes highly recommended, which totally makes sense.) The pizza was deliciously authentic down to the seasoning, depth of flavor, and high caliber ingredients! We used to order from Gino's all the time. Their food is tasty, however their service is abysmal. When we paid almost $30 for this "full" pie we called to make sure we didn't get a half pie by accident. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and laughed, acknowledging the numerous amount of complaints over the small portion sizes of the pies recently. She transferred us to the manager who was rude and could care less. As repeat customers, we will never go back to Gino's. Francesco's pizza in LB has way better service and portion sizes. Had an amazing suggestion from a local to try Gino's. Said it was some of the best food in all of Long Beach. Service like a 5 star restaurant. Absolutely incredible. Liz was our server and she was incredibly polite and accommodating. I must also mention Danielle who greeted us with such a nice smile and amazing hospitality. Ambiance was simple but restaurant was clean and well cared for. Food was 11/10. So beyond good. Chicken parm was huge as was the filet. Sauces and flavors off the chart. Barely had any room for dessert and we split a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Already plotting for when we can get back, it was that good!!! I've heard a lot of good things and got to try it out today. I had the chicken parm with a side of tortellini soup. The chicken parm was great and the soup was good. I also had the fried capellini and it was alright. The outside was crispy and delicious, but the capellini itself wasn't anything special. Lastly, I trekked the meatballs. I've heard that their meatballs are some of the best, but was unfortunately pretty disappointed. They were definitely well below average. The staff was super friendly though, and the restaurant itself had a great ambiance. If I hadn't tried the meatballs, I probably would've rated Gino's 4 stars, but the meatballs really ruined it for me... so I have to go with 3 stars. read more

In keeping with my "Pizza Snob" persona, I try to taste a slice every week from somewhere new. Today, it's Long Beach and the place is Gino's. First off, everyone was nice...big plus. I always order the regular slice because if that's bad, there's usually no hope. Gotta say, pretty darn good slice! The crust isn't too doughy or crispy. The cheese is not at all salty (mark of a cheap cheese) and the sauce was not over sweet (mark of a cheap sauce). Very nice slice! Thumbs up! read more

So I was a little confused when walking in. I couldn't tell if it was a sit down or a pizza joint. When I found a worker they said I could order by sitting down or fast food on other side. When they brought menu no pizza and again had to ask if pizza was a thing. She said she could bring menu it's just more to order in restaurant. Unfortunately we weren't explained that the pizza was a slice and not entire pie so we had to order more slices. I have to say wasn't impressed, pizza's we had whereby all that to rave about. We had a very unpleasant experience with Gino's Long Beach last night. Ordered a pasta dish for a get-together and, for some reason, the Website logged it as a salad with blue cheese. When I called the eatery after receiving the order, the person who answered the phone was rude and unaccommodating, insisting that I had ordered the salad and that was my problem -- case closed. (I would never have ordered it since I'm allergic to blue cheese.) Gino's left us in a jam. Believe it or not, I had to reorder the pasta dish and pay again, though the delivery charge was waived, LOL. Then the rep had the nerve to give me a hard time for not tipping a second time. Garbage customer service, to say the least. We've given Gino's a lot of business over the last few years, but we'll be taking a long break after I was treated like a liar. Used to be the best pizza on Long Island, but when the original owner was there in the 90s and 2000s. New owners cut corners prob to make a profit. Pizza dough js thick, sauce is terrible. Kinda hard to screw up a slice a pizza but they sure did. Will never go back and is a complete ripoff. I'm sure the new owners loving life with a terrible awful product. It's ashame. read more

There aren't a ton of 'famous' pizzerias on Long Island, but Gino's is one of them. Not sure if it's because it's in Long Beach, it has the classic facade, right by the train station, or some other reason. The place itself is huge with a ton of tables in the back, and the slice counter up front. Every time I walked or drove by there was a nice sized line for slices. The line moved fast for me, even though it was lunchtime for the workers in the area and it was like Cheers in there. Prices are good for pizza nowadays, as some similar places like to try to gouge at $5 for specialty slices unlike here. Politics of pizza pricing aside, even at a reasonable price, the pizza here stands up well. Got a regular slice, vodka grandma, veggie grandma (I know, what a country!), and a white slice. My favorite of the bunch was the white slice, where the herbed ricotta makes it. The crust itself was decent too on the round slices, but a bit rigid on the grandma. The vodka sauce didn't do a ton for me, as it receded back in comparison for the regular slice. Regular round slice is the move here if they're out of the white slice, as them running out of things seemed normal when I was there. My wife liked the other 2 slices a lot. In general this was good pizza all around even if it wasn't perfect. Definitely see why it's a fixture in Long Beach. read more

I love the food but I beg the chef, really beg him to please stop making the chicken parm heros so garlicy. If you want to taste a perfect one, order from Pizziola in Oceanside.
