Our group came in about 10 minutes before lunch started, asked if it was too early to order and were told no, but the server let us know some things might take a little longer than breakfast items would. We were fine with this and appreciated the info. I split the nachos with my daughter, which were great! Chips buried under cheese, brisket, and all the yummy toppings! The menu said nachos would feed 2 people, but the two of us didn't even get through half of them, so I'd say even up to 4 people could share! I also got a piece of the bacon monkey bread to go. It was also great, had a perfect amount of bacon and was perfect warmed up just a bit. Seating was offered indoors or outdoors, and it was nice to sit out by the harbor and enjoy the food and the view. Before we left we also went back inside for souvenirs. They have very cute necklaces, wines, stickers and other items for sale. We purchased a few necklaces and were told the proceeds go to the animal shelter, which is awesome! We tried the following items off of their lunch menu (served from 11am to 3pm): Fish'n Tacos ($18), Dungeness Crab Sandwich ($24), and Clam & Scallop Chowder ($13). Of the items, the tacos were my personal favorite, but members of my family enjoyed the crab sandwich more. I enjoyed the tacos since they tasted light and fresh. Everything was good, but nothing was extraordinary delicious. There was a short line on the weekend afternoon I visited, but it wasn't more than a 15 minute wait. It was another 15 minutes after ordering to receive the food. Good customer service. They have a small indoor seating area and tables for outdoor seating as well. They're tables are marked by orange umbrellas, since they share the area with another business. Worth trying? Sure. Worth a repeat visit? Probably not in the near future for me. read more

Love this little mom and pop shop it's right next to Porto Bodega Marina. Discovered them years ago when We started RVing and it was super convenient that they were always right there for either breakfast or dessert. It's a easy walk over from the rv park and it's nice stroll in the morning. They are super known for their baking caramel monkey bread, that make fresh every morning and sell out fast. LoL I'm a glutton lol I always get 2 pieces. Always great to save for later. All you have to do is pop in the microwave for 90 seconds and everything is nice and warm and gooey. Even though we have sold our RV, we always find time to stop in to always grab a piece. The staff there is super friendly and super nice. We have never ever had a bad experience there. He ordered the nachos plate with brisket (his go-to order anywhere we go that offers it). He said it's the best nachos he's ever had. High praise from him. He said every chip had just the right amount of cheese and that all of the ingredients tasted fresh. I ordered the clam chowder, touted to be among the best in the county. I also loved my choice. Unlike other chowders that fill up on potatoes, Thai chowder was chock full of clams. Each spoonful had a clam. The portion size was enough to share between two people, in my opinion. But because I was eating it on my own, I just saved the leftovers for a second meal. Great little caual seafood spot right on the harbor of Bodega Bay! Ginochios was exactly what I was expecting it to be with a no frills atmosphere serving up tasty food in a beautiful location. This place is certainly worth a visit if you find yourself in the area. Service: We were greeted by a friendly woman behind the counter when we entered. She made some light banter and explained what they were out of, but nothing really worth mentioning here. We went right at 11am when they transition from breakfast to lunch and they let us order from either menu. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer which notifies you when your food is ready to pick up. Food: The high point of the experience! I ordered the Crab Sandwich and a side of fries and it was all pretty well above average. The sandwich was toasted on the outside with a nice crunch, while the crab inside was creamy, with great crab flavor and a hint of citrus. Not sure how they make it but it seemed to be their specialty and I would recommend it. Nothing too special about the fries but they were nicely seasoned with a good crisp. In general the prices are a little high for the style of food they are making, but I would say my meal was worth the money. Note, I went with 3 other people and they got Fried Egg Sando, Bacon Burrito, and Fish Tacos. None of them were too happy with their food, so I think your experience may vary depending on what you order. Do yourself a favor and order the Crab Sandwich. Ambiance: Again, nothing special here, but there are a variety of seating options depending on the weather and your preferences. When we visited it was a sunny day without much wind, so we sat on some benches in front of the restaurant. Lovely staff. Dog friendly, good food. The clam chowder was a stand out and all of us liked our food but it could been more seasoned or sauced. Still. You can't beat that view of the harbor. It was really rainy the day we went and they unfortunately do not have a ton of indoor seating but it was still very nice. The bathroom is outside. 2 things: the menu is very limited, I didn't see many vegan or if you don't eat pork/beef they cook with various stocks that may limit your meal even more. read more

The food was amazing. The staff was very nice and provided their opinions when asked. The location is picturesque right on the cove in Bodega Bay. Get there early so you don't want to wait in line too long. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating is nice on the patio to catch some of the fresh air and gives you a chance to check out the what's going on with the fisherman that are out and about. My friends and I came on a Sunday morning and although the food came out quickly, much of it was bland. We ordered their brisket+ potato's with two eggs. I thought they could've added some bbq sauce or something to make it a bit more tasty. I had a bite of my partners brisket burrito and it had brisket, cheese, onion and salsa in it. I enjoyed it more than my brisket and potatoes. The food did come out quickly but on a paper plate, which wasn't presented well. Ended up in this tiny town not realizing, until I made it to a local gas station . Where I confirmed that this was the Bodega Bay from the movie THe Birds. Needed a fast, delicious bay lunch. The place was little hidden off the main highway rd . After reading reviews there it was, the first restaurant to the left. Parking was easy . The place is small in the inside. Plenty of sitting outside. Great view of the Bodega Bay. I was very lucky to be there while the owners was sharing how the name came from. Definitely a family restaurant which made it even better for my experience. Daughter taking my order was amazing. She had great attitude. She was super helpful. As I sat eating I was able to hear how others loved the place as much as I did. I enjoyed a crab sandwich with a beer ( might have been local). Loved the sandwich . We both liked our burritos but would probably opt out of the raw white onions,little overwhelming for breakfast.If that's not an option to remove would definitely try the hash or other breakfast options.The food looked delicious and everyone around us clearly enjoyed their meals. This place was great. I was camping at Casini Ranch Family Campground and was driving to find a restaurant. I was not disappointed. I got the beef brisket sandwich and my wife got the pulled pork. Very down to earth vibe to have a good relaxed lunch. Brisket Nachos: this was HUGE. Came with a chipotle sauce which gave it a different flavor from usual nachos. Shady on the brisket though. Tri tip sandwich: also a good size portion but unlike the nachos there was a good amount of meat. Meat was a little bland without the bbq sauce but really tender. Pulled pork sandwich: not as big as the tri tip sandwich but was decent size. Good flavor. Crab sandwich: I was looking forward to this sandwich because of the hype and I thought it was ok. It's crab season in Bodega Bay!!! Which means it's time to try Ginochio's. Online ordering was very easy and states your order will be done in 30 mins. I ordered the dungeness crab sandwich, clam chowder, monkey bread, and bbq briskets. WOW! The dungeness crab sandwich stole the show. Large chunks of crab with melted cheese between two slices of bread. Clam chowder was warm with chunks of scallops. Beef briskets were soft and the BBQ sauce kicked it up a notch. Monkey bread was OK, a little sweet for me and tasted like bacon. When I arrived for pick up, there's a side door with a table. I let the server know my name and that I had an online order. They were slammed. It still took an additional 25 mins of waiting (on top of the 30) for my order to be ready. I heard lots of customers asking for clam chowder or dungeness crab sandwhiches but they were sold out by 1pm. I was afraid my online order didnt make the cut but it did!! COVID update: You have two options to order. One is online which is easy. Once you get there, you check in at the side door to pick up. The other option is to order in person and the side window opposite the pick up door. Plenty of space to social distance. Great views of Bodega Bay. Seagull watching. So, I just got off the phone with the restaurant to let them know how awful, seriously terrible our meal was. It wasn't because we ordered it to go either. Because the crab sandwich was $24 and we had not eaten here before we decided just to get one and split it. I'm so grateful we did. The crab tasted like it was out of a can, & the toasted white bread didn't do much for me, the havarti cheese wasn't even melted. But the worst part, when I called to tell them that the french fries were inedible.... The management agreed! She said they've been trying to "figure out how to cook them" and they are "oven fries" Wait!!! What? You know the fries taste terrible and you are serving them anyway? I was seriously gobsmacked by her reaction. The restaurant is charging people for fries that they know are not edible. The person on the phone then asked if there was anything that she could do to make it up to me? Well, I'm never coming back, so maybe toss my credit card receipt? The one star is for the location. I'll drive around to spud point next time, and know that I'll get a good meal for sure. In response to owner comment. No, the manager did not say the fries were inedible, she said "I know" when I told her how awful & inedible they were. The kitchen & staff KNEW & still let us order the fries instead of offering chips or just plain 86ing them from the menu!!! You could have offered to remove the charge from our credit card when I called to discuss. Location is a great little spot on the Bodega Bay harbor. We ordered the Clam and Scallop Chowder, half rack of ribs, ranch beans, and the Bacon Caramel Monkey Break. All counter service and bus your own tables. They had an array of canned soda and bottled beer- beware of the soda upcharge! The chowder was good with plenty of little scallops and some clams, but really lacked the rich and creaminess I was looking for in a chowder. It was definitely savory with strong pepper notes. The ribs were well portioned, but fatty and grisly, again with a strong peppery seasoning. We could not finish half a rack in a single seating because of the strong pepper. The ranch beans were described as sweet and smoky. When fresh and hot, it was more of a spicy kick with the tomato base- at least when paired with the peppery ribs. Once cooled off and tasting cold, that sweet smokiness came through. By far our favorite dish after the sweet and smoky came through. We got the last piece of the monkey bread (to-go). It didn't come with the same gooey saucy caramel sauce shown in all the photos. The bacon and cinnamon stood out above the caramel sauce. The buttery crab sandwich and a bowl of the chowder is a nice little brunch. It's not huge but one sandwich and a bowl was the perfect lunch before getting back on the road. The sandwich came on nice lightly toasted bread, full of buttery crab flavor with the havarti adding a nice mellow tang to bring it all together. The chowder was creamy with a mild flavor nicely complimenting the snappy but not chewy clams and scallops. We gotta come back and see what's up with this bbq now. read more
