The food was sooo underwhelming...I had the Panang curry with shrimp...it was very meh...I ordered a side of broccoli and it literally was broccoli with nothing on it...I had to ask for salt because they had nothing on my table or any table near. I ended up dunking it in the curry just to give it some taste. My wife and I both have been to Japan, Korea, Hawaii and other places that you have this cuisine. My wife had the Pad Thai and said that it literally was the worse she has ever had. I tasted it and can only confirm it wasn't that good. If you want ambiance and class, this is your place. It was my first time at the MGM and we decided to try Ginger for dinner. The restaurant has a very upscale look, it is decorated well. The restaurant is open to the lobby of the MGM so it is a louder/ more chaotic feeling dining experience. The food was just okay. I had the special pho and it didn't have much flavor. Really nice experience! We arrived for our 630pm reservation and were seated within moments. Lin was our server and she was lovely and helped us with menus selections. 8/4/21- On a random Wednesday evening, we landed here after the organizer discovered her Cantina was closed. Shout out to Ginger for surviving the pandemic & serving up consistency over the years! This restaurant is still very attractive. I've enjoyed many meals & celebrations here. Most recently, during a ladies night outing. The place was not crowded so we got to sit near the beautiful MGM atrium and people watch too. I'm a creature of habit so I made a quick food decision after glancing at the menu. I especially like the crispy veggie spring rolls, honey walnut shrimp, curry dishes, various kinds of fried rice, and matcha everything. The entrees are filling and can easily be shared. Was in MGM with family and friends. After gambling a little I was told I had comp points for food so of course I go and find my husband and my other friends and family and we head to Ginger. The restaurant is located on the same level as the casino it is bright, very well lit. When we went to the hostees we were told we would have to wait about 5 minutes so they could clean and set the table. It was crowded and they were super busy. Once we were seated the menu's were already on the table so we ordered drinks. I ordered a coke because I was driving. For my main meal I ordered Chicken pad Thai and I added shrimp. Our food came out in about 20 minutes after we ordered and let me tell you this was some of the best pad thai I have had in a long time It was pipping hot, flavorful and little spicy and it looked pretty lol! Dumplings were okay and edamame needed more seasoning. Then we all decided to order dishes that we could share family style. I got the "wok tossed stir fry noodles" with combo meat (chicken, beef, shrimp). We also got the combo fried rice, the shredded pork gravy crispy egg noodles, crispy salt and pepper calamari, beef chow fun and tofu stir fry. When the waiter was handing out the food he asked who got the lo mein I was like what? And realized it was my fish so I realized I just paid for expensive lo mein that was honestly just okay. My local Chinese place does a better lo mein. It also came with little meat (2 shrimps total) and mostly noodles/veggies. The two best dishes were the crispy noodles (gravy was delicious!) Maybe this is considered "authentic," but it's not my cup of tea. Panang curry A hit. I've eaten Thai curry before and I would consider this to be authentic. Not a fan of eating the lychee, but it's really good! Wish it came with more chicken. Beef tenderloin: This is the golden hit. Juicy, flavorful, good portion, yummy entree. Of course the price is a little high, but it's worth it in my opinion. Sichuan crispy beef: A miss. It's crispness is to a minimum and the flavor is barely there. I wish they could at least make it saucy instead of depending the lacking flavor on the beef itself. Cheaper Chinese places had better beef than this. Spring rolls: Three 6 inch spring rolls. Ginger has come a long way from when they first opened several years back. Located inside the MGM National Harbor, it isn't necessarily a family-friendly restaurant to dine in. That said, I wouldn't recommend the trip unless you're already at the casino. It is not an easily accessible business. The taste and quality of food improved tremendously over the years and has become one of my parents favorite go-to Chinese restaurants (serves traditional Chinese cuisines and occasionally, off the menu Sichuan dishes). If you're at MGM, I highly recommend. However, and this is especially important, if you find yourself dining here, expect a hefty bill; a Peking duck is priced at $99. The staff was friendly, attentive and very accommodating. The ambiance was beautiful and elegant. My aunt and I had the Mongolian beef and my daughter had the pineapple fried rice. For a busy night we did get our food in a timely manner. Service was good. Depending on where you are seated you get a great view of the decor outside of the restaurant. We tried simple entrees- Honey Glazed Chicken Wings and Shrimp and pork fried rice. The chicken isn't seasoned and the honey sauce was scarce. Too much breading on some of the wings. Ginger has the best location! Right in the heart of MGM Hotel in the National Harbor. I've eaten here 3 times now and every meal is so good. I'm never disappointed by the flavors, the quality and the presentation. I order the rockfish twice now with a side of sautéed spinach and it's sooo good. The Rockfish has the most delectable crust I have ever had and the inside fish, is light and fluffy and hot - both occasions. The spinach, is plentiful and buttery. My disappointments are the amount of rice provided for my dishes. I always have to ask for more. I would also say that it is on the pricier side given the portions. I usually leave satisfied but I'm definitely hungry later and there aren't usually any leftovers. With much of the menu a la carte, I find the restaurant capitalizes on the convenience of being in the hotel. A very open restaurant so, not a spot for romantic dinners. Crispy wings lightly covered in honey, these things were hot and juicy. I could eat 30 of these. A good pick. The soup was just ok. Wasn't really that spicy, and more sour/vinegary. I don't mind that, but not exactly what I was expecting. It also was a small bowl of soup. Pieces of beef were tender. The noodles were overcooked and mushy. Service was good as I went mid afternoon off-peak. If you're at the casino and want something Asian, it looks like a good option. We booked a reservation here for thanksgiving dinner. I was excited for Thai food for dinner, the atmosphere was great and the decor was pretty. It located in the MGM Casino resort. Along with other restaurants and shopping stores like the miracle mall in Las Vegas set up. We arrived to our location at 3:45, parking is free, it is a bit confusing finding your car after leaving. I suggest sending a pinpoint of your location to your phone to find your car. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We ordered the gyoza and spring rolls. The spring rolls were undercooked and pink. The gyoza was okay. The entrees were ordered yellow curry, pad Thai, special Vietnamese pho and vegetarian pad Thai and yellow curry with tofu. The yellow curry was fantastic my husband said. The pho was good. The pad Thai lacked favor, it tasted like watered down noodles. I tried to squeeze lime juice on my pad Thai but it already dried out.
