We were drunk and needed a snack but everything else seemed to be closed. Although it seemed like the restaurant was about to close, the host still sat us and the server was very patient with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted. We ended up ordering a lot more than we needed. We picked out a few fried appetizers and fried rice. They were all delicious. We were seeing a show at the MGM theater and this place is very convenient for that. Otherwise, I'd give it 2.5 stars rounded up to 3. Very expensive, very noisy and busy with very average food. We had hot and sour cucumbers, shredded pork with crispy noodles and Beef Chow Fun. If we had to come back, I wouldn't get any of that again. We decided to eat at Ginger because we were at the MGM for a comedy show and they were the only restaurant with reservations available before the show. Pros, the service was for the most part, very fast. The lettuce wraps came out within maybe 5 minutes of us ordering them and our entrees came out while we were finishing the appetizer. At one point we did have to get our servers attention as she hadn't been to our table in a while and my husband needed additional rice and we both needed drinks. Cons, the food overall was bland. The chicken in the lettuce wraps didn't have much flavor and they were loaded with a ton of celery. All of the hoisin sauce was in the bottom of the wrap which I found odd. I think it would be better on top. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai, and again, it was bland. I've had better pad Thai for half the price. The prices here are high for what you're getting. The portions are large but the food lacks flavor. We ordered drinks as well. We each had the scorpion and found they were very acidic and too strong. It tasted like I was drinking rum with lime juice. Another issue, the restaurant itself is beautiful but I wasn't a fan of our table. We were at a 2 person table, booth on one side, chair on the other and the table was extremely close to the tables to the tables next to us. We were in the middle, so I had to squeeze by the one table to get into the booth and I'm not a large person. It felt like we were dining with the tables next to us, that's how close we were. We came to Ginger for the first time and it was the first place we been that let's you tell the restaurant you are here via text. We asked if the entrees were family-sized because the tables around us looked like large plates, but we were told no and for us these are definitely family sized entrees. For appetizer we got the pan fried potatoes stickers but once we reached the entrees, as two people we were unable to even make a dent in the General tso chicken, Mongolian beef, and Chinese broccoli that we ordered. Everything came out hot and tasted great with flavor. Each item also automatically came with rice so we ended up with 3 rice bowls. The ingredients used were even different in commonly ordered dishes, such as the panang curry... it had lychee in it. I've never experienced that before. Had the opportunity to have lunch here, thanks to a friend and her uncle. We were sat quickly, the hostess and waitress were very kind. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and for it being in the MGM, it was surprisingly tranquil. It was so hard to decide on an appetizer and an entree but I was very pleased. Of the several options at MGM NH, we chose this one solely because they had Sesame Chicken on the menu, and that's what we ordered. Instead, we were brought Sesame Shrimp. We made the mistake of not having them correct the error, cuz, ya know, shrimp is nice. At least it is when it's fresh. But when you order Sesame Chicken and the chef makes Sesame Shrimp, and you start to feel sick shortly after leaving the restaurant, you start to wonder what the hell they are trying to pull. I'm not sure if the shrimp was the culprit, but I'm not inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt if it follows a blunder that bad. Avoid this place like the plague. This restaurant is still very attractive. I've enjoyed many meals & celebrations here. Most recently, during a ladies night outing. The place was not crowded so we got to sit near the beautiful MGM atrium and people watch too. I'm a creature of habit so I made a quick food decision after glancing at the menu. When the waiter was handing out the food he asked who got the lo mein I was like what? And realized it was my fish so I realized I just paid for expensive lo mein that was honestly just okay. My local Chinese place does a better lo mein. It also came with little meat (2 shrimps total) and mostly noodles/veggies. The two best dishes were the crispy noodles (gravy was delicious!) They refill your water quickly, but the servers seem to be in a rush to leave. Honey walnut prawns: A miss. I like my shrimp saucy or flavorful and this was bland. They put a few drizzles of Mayo on the shrimp and that didn't help. Besides adding real walnuts, I do not taste the honey walnut in the shrimp itself. Maybe this is considered "authentic," but it's not my cup of tea. Panang curry A hit. I've eaten Thai curry before and I would consider this to be authentic. Not a fan of eating the lychee, but it's really good! Wish it came with more chicken. Beef tenderloin: This is the golden hit. Juicy, flavorful, good portion, yummy entree. Of course the price is a little high, but it's worth it in my opinion. Sichuan crispy beef: A miss. It's crispness is to a minimum and the flavor is barely there. I wish they could at least make it saucy instead of depending the lacking flavor on the beef itself. Cheaper Chinese places had better beef than this. Spring rolls: Three 6 inch spring rolls. Crispy wings lightly covered in honey, these things were hot and juicy. I could eat 30 of these. A good pick. The soup was just ok. Wasn't really that spicy, and more sour/vinegary. I don't mind that, but not exactly what I was expecting. It also was a small bowl of soup. Pieces of beef were tender. The noodles were overcooked and mushy. Service was good as I went mid afternoon off-peak. If you're at the casino and want something Asian, it looks like a good option. Ginger has come a long way from when they first opened several years back. Located inside the MGM National Harbor, it isn't necessarily a family-friendly restaurant to dine in. That said, I wouldn't recommend the trip unless you're already at the casino. It is not an easily accessible business. The taste and quality of food improved tremendously over the years and has become one of my parents favorite go-to Chinese restaurants (serves traditional Chinese cuisines and occasionally, off the menu Sichuan dishes). If you're at MGM, I highly recommend. However, and this is especially important, if you find yourself dining here, expect a hefty bill; a Peking duck is priced at $99. If not for the inconvenience of the location and high cost, this place totally deserves an extra star, in my opinion. read more

My aunt was in town for work. I came out to the MGM grand hotel to have dinner at Ginger. She raves about her previous meal she had the night before. The staff was friendly, attentive and very accommodating. The ambiance was beautiful and elegant. My aunt and I had the Mongolian beef and my daughter had the pineapple fried rice. First of all the portions are huge! You could definitely get two helping out of one entree. The pineapple rice was amazing. It had shrimp, sausage, pineapples, cashews and a delicious flavor.
