Rack of Lamb without herb and breadcrumbs
    Sonia K.

This is a refined restaurant that is more treat than everyday, for me. The decor is stately and cozy. I like that some of the seating is far apart. However the openness can lead to overhearing conversations. Enjoyed the fries coated with rice flour and the carrots. They tasted better with the maple mustard glaze requested on the side. The hostess did hear my allergies but I had to check with the waiter for the lamb I ordered. It said herb crusted but was also covered with breadcrumbs. The waiter definitely checked and replaced the lamb. However that was not addressed until I asked when the dish was in front of me. The drinks were good upon arrival. The ice diluted the flavors fast, but that is something I notice. The waiter also made a comment about tipping (making waiters happy), which surprised and disappointed me. While I liked a lot of things about the restaurant, the overall experience was midrange.

If you are looking for an elegant steakhouse meal with great views- this is a beautiful spot in the Gaylord hotel. The food is on the pricier side but is in line with a hotel restaurant. Out group got some plates to share- the pork belly appetizer, mushroom risotto, fries, Brussel sprouts, carrots, potato gratin and mac and cheese. The sides were definitely the stand outs- especially the carrots and potato gratin. The wine was also good. I would definitely be back for the drinks and sides!

Average food and bar service in captive Gaylord hotel environment. I'm shocked at the limited dining options in the hotel. Especially when corporate events shut down other options. This mega overpriced steakhouse just doesn't cut it. Both times I ate at the bar I was offered bread with my meal but none ever arrived nor was it acknowledged.

This is a mix of a two meal experience .. both unique. First dinner. We started with bread and salads. The usual. Then we moved to crab cakes ... amazing. So much crab with very little filling. The meal was family style for us .. salmon, chicken, asparagus, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The chicken was super tasty .. loved the spices. The Mac and cheese was cooked perfectly.. creamy in the middle with a crispy crust on top..the asparagus was cooked al dente (or perfect). Enjoyed the dinner!! The lunch was not so successful. The hamburger bun fell apart, and the hamburger itself was not seasoned well. The French fries were 75% of the $30 plate. Lunch, I did not enjoy. The service was excellent at both meals. The restaurant is well decorated .. loved the bar! The location is loud though. People talking reverbs throughout the space.

Met an ex-coworker here who was attending a conference. I had had pot roast the night before and was having a steak dinner the next night, so I opted for fish. I know, I know, it's crazy to order fish in a steak restaurant. But I have no regrets! Bread came out warm with a creative salted whipped butter. So yummy! First I started with the kale salad and it was excellent. Light and healthy and the perfect starter. The Ora King salmon with sauce on side was also excellent although not crazy about the mussels. Loved the rice.

Beautiful steakhouse in the lobby of Gaylord, truly a testament to elite hotels. As expected the prices were beyond what my little mind could fathom. My wife and I split the seafood tower, we got the grand so we could enjoy lobster; and my kid got fried and Mac and cheese. He liked his food, not loved it. And we ate our food, I wouldn't say enjoyed it. Cold seafood lacks flavor, so it's up to hot sauce, butter, cocktail sauce, and all the other extras they give to step up the flavor. The seafood was fresh no doubt and the portion substantial but definitely a 40% markup on what was provided. Our waiter was beyond involved, very kind and attentive, checked on us what seemed like twice a minute. Maybe the steak is where it's at but I'll skip my chances in the future.

Service was really slow until hubby complained. As others have said, the menu is overpriced. I made my own meal and two out of three (scallops and creamed spinach) were good. The Mac and cheese was burnt on top. The ice cream was better than the lava cake. The restaurant itself and views are lovely! The to-go bag is top tier. They acknowledged my birthday and that's always a nice touch.

For the prices at this place, you'd expect the food to be exceptional. In my opinion, it was just decent; I definitely think it could be better for the cost. On a positive note, our waiter was very kind and attentive. I ordered the Ora King Salmon, which I found to be pretty good (rate: 7/10).

Probably one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to at these prices with the worst service. I thought maybe it was only me but my bar mate geeked me up for this one. Took 15 mins to get a drink with a mostly empty bar rail, I ordered food along with the women next to me also by her self I got the skirt steak with sub truffle potatoes vs fries. They brought the fries took it back then came back to the bar rail and scraped the fries off in to the bar rail and said she didn't want to waste the steak and it would be another 10 mins. Then continued to wipe the plate off with a random napkin she found on the bar rail. The gentleman that brought the women's food out was rubbing his hands everywhere didn't wash and then handed her her food.I was completely done eating along with the woman next to me with the single crab cake that smelled pretty rough i believe they refunded her crab cake. All we could do was laugh at those point as far as the price point goes, in all of my years i haven't had service this terrible at this price point ever and the staff is just laughing and messing around behind the bar. Dont waste your money.

Standard classic Gaylord old hickory ambience. Friendly service at the bar. Crab soup was tasty and filling. Crab cake (highly recommended by the bartender) was filled w crab and very little filler which is the way a crab cake should be!

    Cranberry and grey goose.

Excellent drinks and atmosphere. Pleasant bartender and great spot to relax and unwind after walking along the harbor. Would love to have dinner there someday!

For an appetizer, we had the rolls that came with a mustard butter and the lamb bacon. We absolutely loved the bacon and the rolls, but the butter just wasn't good. For dinner, I had the pork chops (which were huge- thick, juicy, and perfectly cooked) but I do wish the sauce was a bit thicker or more pronounced. My boyfriend had the rack of lamb, but when it came out it was a half rack so that was a little surprising. We got the trio of three sides, and really enjoyed the Mac and cheese and the asparagus, but the broccoli with the Greek yogurt was our absolute favorite. We did order 9 oz glasses of wine each, despite the absolute shocking price of $30 a glass. Personally, the dessert menu wasn't thrilled. And let me tell you... every single dish delivered. For appetizers we had the Rockefeller oysters, whiskey shrimp and kale Caesar salads. For entrees, I personally had the red snapper entree and the scallop entree, and I also ordered the ribeye for the table. Everything was flavorful, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. One of the highlights of the evening was when Ibrahim smoked our drinks tableside for us. It added such a fun and memorable touch to an already special night. My cousin and I stopped by on Friday, June 12, 2026, craving one of our favorites--the pimento burger. As usual, we grabbed two open seats at the bar that had just been vacated. A waiter greeted us and said he would return after cleaning the area. Another staff member brought us water, and we waited to place our order. While waiting, I noticed a couple sit down at the bar near us. To my surprise, the first waiter immediately went over to them, took their order, and prepared their drinks while my cousin and I continued to sit there without any acknowledgment. I eventually asked the waiter if he was assigned to our section, and he confirmed that he was. I then asked why the couple had been served before us when we had arrived first. His flippant response was, "Because they're regulars." I replied that, with good customer service, I could become a regular too. He then shrugged and said, "They know management." Thinking I must have misunderstood, I asked him to repeat himself. He again said, "They know management." What bothered me most was not that regular customers were recognized. Great hospitality includes making loyal guests feel appreciated. The problem was the message that seemed to be conveyed--that some customers are more deserving of attention than others because of who they know. When I expressed concern, the waiter appeared dismissive and uninterested in addressing it. Instead of clarifying or apologizing, he repeated the same explanation and shrugged off our concerns. At that point, my cousin looked at me and asked, "Are you ready?" We got up and left without ordering anything. This experience was especially disappointing because it was so different from the positive visits I've had here before. We came expecting good food and a welcoming atmosphere, but instead left feeling ignored and undervalued. I hope management takes customer service seriously and addresses situations like this. Every guest should feel welcomed and respected, whether they are a first-time visitor, a regular, or someone who knows management. Unfortunately, this experience makes me reluctant to return anytime soon. I can't say that I wouldn't recommend Succotash National Harbor, as I've enjoyed many good meals there in the past, but this visit left a lasting negative impression. To make matters worse, my cousin and I never even got the chance to order the pimento burger we came for .

Now that I got that out of the way, let me continue. https://youtu.be/5uPuX7Fk_cE?si=H7NI2vI_uMWAeREq Appetizer Octopus Ceviche -- $18 I told our server that I didn't want any pork on it. She seemed surprised and told me it didn't come with pork. I had already looked up "pancetta crumble" and knew pancetta was pork, so I showed her the menu. She then said she knew what pancetta was and would make sure there was no pork on my plate. The ceviche itself didn't have much flavor. I didn't really enjoy it, but it wasn't bad enough for me to complain or send it back. Dinner Housemade "Parkerhouse" Rolls -- $8 These came out fresh and hot with butter. They were good. No complaints. Chef's Fresh Catch -- $50 The fresh catch was grouper. The fish had some salt on it and a nice char, but the heavy cream-based sauce on the plate didn't have much flavor. Again, I didn't really enjoy it, but not enough to complain or return the dish. Jumbo Lump Crab Oscar -- $28 Wow, this was not good at all. I probably should have sent it back, but I didn't. It was tough and rubbery (see pic), almost like it had been left under the broiler too long. I took it home with me, but I honestly will probably end up throwing it away. Sides Crispy Brussels Sprouts -- $13 These were good, just like many of the other reviews mentioned. Yukon Gold Potato Purée -- $12 They were okay. Nothing to write home about. Dessert Coconut Cream Bread Pudding -- $14 It was just okay. The coconut flakes was too much, in my opinion, and eventually became overwhelming. It didn't feel very balanced. Overall, I felt the service could have been better, and most of the food needed more flavor, especially at this price point. Nothing was so terrible that I felt the need to ask for a manager, but I also didn't enjoy most of what I ordered. I ordered it, so I paid for it and kept it moving. Also, a 25% gratuity was already added to the bill. Maybe that is why the service was lacking, because they already knew they were going to get 25% "allegedly". Honestly, I don't think I'll be back. There are too many other good places in the DMV where you can have better food and a better overall experience for the same price or less.

Update: I don't know how to respond directly to you Ryan but unfortunately our party of 7 was only in town a few days to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. Truly though, the lack of service couldn't have been lost on our server or your mngmt that evening (unless we were just that ignored and overlooked sitting in the middle of your outdoor space) because it should've been made right that same evening with even a simple apology or explanation for the night as a whole by your manager. Hopefully our experience was a one time deal for you and it'll be lost in sea of 5 star ratings. But no thank you, we won't be coming back.
