If you've had a major loss at the casino at MGM, I can only recommend coming to Ginger as a fallback. FANTASTIC servers, Song and Li! They never took a second to get away and always made sure we were taken care of. The duck was hot and crispy and definitely the star of the meal. Ate at Ginger for the first time last night..I probably won't be back.. At the start I told the waitress that I don't eat any meat, dairy, or eggs. I ordered the pineapple fried rice without shrimp, sausage, and egg. We also ordered the fried tofu for an appetizer. So first we waited a long time and someone brought out a pineapple fried rice WITH meat before our appetizers. We told the waitress and she got all flustered and took it away. Eventually we got our appetizers. The sauce for the tofu was nasty..like a pasty peanut butter..so gross. My friend ordered lettuce wraps with chicken but there was no chicken, only vegetables. THEN my fried rice came back without meat..but also..without PINEAPPLES..I don't understand how pineapples were forgotten in "pineapple fried rice." I understand that mistakes happen, and every restaurant has bad nights. I used to be a supervisor for a restaurant myself. But with the reviews I've seen on yelp, it looks like what happened to me is not too unusual for this place. Garlic green beans were so yummy and delicious. Cocktails were tasty as well. We got the cucumber and jasmine cocktails. The portions are absolutely massive so for instance there were 3 of us who were all very hungry and we split 4 plates and still had food leftover. The food literally comes out on platters. This place is Thai food for people who do not like Thai food. I ordered the chili basil fried rice and asked for it extra spicy. They brought it back and it had kick at best - which was disappointing for a Thai restaurant. The basil and chili was lacking and worse of all the rice was DRY. I have never had dry Thai rice. Ever. It was bland. And I swear they used short grain rice and not jasmine or basmati. After the $23 rice (the portion size wouldn't have been bad if it tasted good) the manager asked how it was. I told her it was dry, bland and not spicy. She admitted they turn the spice down for tourist and said I should've ordered extra spicy, she then looked at my receipt and said "oh you did, well maybe next time". Not an offer for a discount or to cook a new one when she could see I barely touched it. Anywho, I didn't mind the service, but save your money and ride across the bridge to ANY carry out on oxon hill or better yet go to the hood like Rios buffet and get better fried rice. read more

Nastiest food ever!! Don't even waste your money. I ordered the wings as an appetizer and they were disgusting....fried wings covered in fat and undercooked. I should have stopped there but I had already placed my order. Next came he drunken seafood noodles. The seafood was flavorless in a bowl of soy sauce noodles...how? Cut and served as 2 separate dishes. Nice bread buns instead of traditional pancakes. I prefer traditional pancakes. Snow pea leaves were soggy but still taste good. Nice Ginger ice cream dessert. I have to concur with the three star rating this restaurant is receiving. The food was good, not great, and for Kung pao chicken that costs $23, it had better be amazing. It wasn't; was good enough for $12. The dim sum cart is a nice touch & costs $9 per item. They also give you an extremely small amount of rice for your entrees. If the cost was a bit lower, I'd come back but for 2 entrees, 2 dim sum, an appetizer and two cokes, the bill was $106. My wife and I are big foodies and don't mind paying for great food. My girlfriend and I decided to try out the restaurant on a whim but surprisingly both of us enjoyed our food. We got the dim sum, pad Thai, barbecue pork, and the bibimbap. Our server was prompt and accommodating. While we waited for our order the manager Steven asked us if it was our first time here, which it was so he told us a little about MGM and the other dishes and desserts we should try out. Beautiful atmosphere. Service is impeccable. Food is absolutely delicious. We've had lunch and dinner -- at least 6 times. I've had the Mongolian Beef, LOVE IT. The sauce is perfect, the beef melts in your mouth. My hubby is stuck on the Drunken Seafood Noodles. Seasoning is perfect, the variety of seafood is prepared perfectly. He told me, "why mess with perfection and try something else" LOL. I have enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and on our next visit, today, I'm going to try the kung pao chicken. The Mongolian Beef is an absolute winner, love it. You can't go wrong with dining at Ginger. I highly recommend it. read more

We went here the weekend before Xmas. It's still new so our expectations weren't too high as I understand when new establishments open they need time to work out the kinks. That still won't change my 2-star review however. Here are the cliff's notes: Food tastes decent Way overpriced for what you get Drinks took really long to get even though the restaurant was not busy at all Service was "so-so" Soup dumplings are tiny Wonton soup was $12 FOR ONE PERSON This seems to be the only place at MGM large enough for groups with kids I personally wouldn't go back here. If you're curious, go ahead and check it out. If you are used to eating places around Eden or other typical Chinese sit down restaurants then you won't be impressed here... mainly because of the prices. read more

Really excited to try this place. We live in the area and decided to check this place out after hearing great things. I give two stars for the eating environment and customer service. We had the dumplings, duck and the crab fried rice. The duck was excellent, crispy out side and tender meat with a delicious ginger chili sauce. The crab fried rice was flavorless, I had to add soy sauce. We also ordered two Heineken which were vinegary. All the food was overpriced for what is was. Probably won't return. read more

My dad wanted to check out the new casino and eat dinner here Friday night. I was worried we would have to wait a crazy amount of time considering the time and "new-ness" of the location. Thankfully we only waited about 45 minutes because we were a party of five. There were many groups of two that waited much longer than we did. We ordered two appetizers. The fried tofu was delicious with the peanut sauce. We loved that it was "packed" and not airy like most other fried tofu we've had. We also had the steamed dumplings which were good but nothing special. We did family style for five dishes. The red curry with duck was a first for me. I've always leaned towards panang curry but the red was good too, especially with the duck. The salt & pepper squid was another favorite of ours. We didn't realize until we got it that it is more of an appetizer. It looked like calamari, but was very flavorful. You can definitely taste the salt & pepper. The pineapple fried rice was really good. I've had other pineapple fried rice before but this one was more savory than sweet with the curry seasoning. Definitely balances the two flavors. The kalbi was my youngest brother's personal favorite. It was all pretty lean which we liked and packed with the sauce. Last but not least, was my favorite of the night, the pad Thai! I'll be honest I've lost interest in pad Thai since I discovered pad se ew, but this pad Thai was definitely an exception. It is a little spicy, but bearable for me (I rarely eat spicy). Lastly, we ordered two desserts. The mango with sticky rice was not good. It wasn't the sweet orange mango; it was he less sweet yellow color. The rice and was hard and hardly sweet as it should be. The mochi ice cream was better. The blossom fruit flavor was by far our favorite. Overall the food was delicious but overpriced. It was pretty expected for the location. The proportions are bigger than I thought it would be for a higher end Asian fusion restaurant. My family and I will definitely be back in the future. read more
