Great place to get your pizza fix! Gina's is a fast casual pizzeria (order at the counter and they call you up when your order is ready) that sells pizzas, pastas, and salads. They also offer pizza by the slice and their specialty is their giant slices! All are made to order, too! Plenty of seating inside and it's a comfortable/casual atmosphere. I received super rude service from Nic at your Costa Mesa location today. She was dishonest, dismissive, and argumentative. I had called in, on my way home from work, to place an order and was put on hold. I hung up after 3+ minutes and called back thinking she had forgotten. When she asked to put me on hold again I explained I'd already been on hold for over 3 minutes and asked if it would be a long hold. She said yes, it would be a 10-15 minute hold(!). I was almost there so I decided to just order in person. Once there, I half-jokingly asked her if she was really planning to leave me on hold for 15 minutes. She acted confused, and LIED and insisted no one had called! I showed her my phone and told her I literally talked to her 2 minutes ago. That's when she admitted it was her and that she had had a "rush." {Fact check: There were a total of 4 people in the restaurant}. She blamed her manager for "...not scheduling more people." She then said she didn't appreciate my rudeness(!). I was in no way rude. In fact, I was more bemused by her behavior. I ordered and asked how long it would take so I could come back (since she claimed they were so busy). She said, "I have no idea." I turned to the cook and he said they'd make it extra-fast. Well, what do you know? My meatballs were already done! They were so slammed after the alleged "rush" that my order was ready in less than 5 minutes. Thank you to the cook staff. I reminded her that she's in the SERVICE industry (as am I), and told her she might want to change her approach with customers. Now, can we talk about some of these 20-30 year olds? WHY are they so put-upon and antisocial? Why is it a chore to them to put the customer first and treat them with respect? Why do good businesses like Gina's not take better care in hiring and/ or training? I work with many young people who are poised, personable, and professional, so they *are* out there. I feel like we are enabling this behavior by keeping such low standards. We love Gina's but will be a while before I return. I hope they get it together. read more

I called on a saturday night and ordered one large pizza. The boy on the phone told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up exactly 15 minutes later only to be told another 10 minutes. That extra ten minutes turned into another 10 minutes. I understand it's saturday night and it sucks to be working as a young teen but please be more accurate and considerate with customers time. I came here by mistake mixing up this Gina's pizza for another my friend had recommend me to try. I wanted to really try out as many toppings as I could since they let you choose a lot. I didn't think I would have needed to emphasize the importance of separating the veggies and meats as I assumed meat on one half and veggies on the other with pineapple on both was not too complicated, but I suppose I was wrong. The bacon and the veggies were mixed all about on both sides of the pizza and my mom being a vegetarian couldn't even eat the pizza I had ordered us to share and I had to pick out the extra veggies I didn't like too. Which was fine except it kind of destroys the whole pizza and the cheese moves when you're picking the pizza apart. In the end the pizza was hardly appetizing and I don't think it would've even been that great if it wasn't for the big mess up with the toppings anyways. When I called to request a new pizza they told me the kitchen was already closed and they couldn't make me a new one even tho apple maps said they'd be open for another 2 hours. I truly love how this place allows you to customize your slice however you like. My go to is always a sausage and jalapeno slice--absolutely delish. The staff are incredibly friendly. I think the owner is usually always there, too? I can always strike up a friendly conversation myself, but the staff usually does too. It's a quaint little place off of PCH. You can get lucky with street parking, but there is a parking space right behind it. It's 15 minutes free and $4 after, if I'm not mistaken. I enjoyed dining in here, and also taking the pizza to go. When I arrived, they had the pizza ready for me and the service was quick, smooth, and they were very polite. There was one person making the pizza, one of them was prepping the orders, and the other one was charging me at the register. Good teamwork! The pizza was really yummy. It was not too oily, which I totally appreciate! It was a thin pizza, but it was exactly what we're looking for. I would definitely come back. By the way, there is seating inside if you're interested. Parking is easy as well. But it is a shopping center so there's not many seats outside if that's what you're looking for. All my friends that live in the area swore by Gina's. My wife and I traveled from the Los Angeles area to try it. You order at the counter and the inside of the building gives you a real Italian vibe but it was a beautiful day so we ate outside. They told us it would be about a 45 min wait, it was delivered hot and right on time. Unfortunately the quality didn't match the prompt timing. I hate to use the word awful but it definitely was not great. Seemed undercooked and flavor just was not there. Wish we would have just ordered round table. We also ordered 2 of their sugar cookies because they said it was the only desert they ordered in house, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it might have been the worst cookie we've ever ordered.
