When ur not a huge outlet shopper, the 98 Degrees heat doesn't help the fact that this outlet is outdoors and split into four sections at a street intersection. A fantastic food court would be a sort of redemption in my eyes, but that was slim pickings. Although this one deli seemed be serving up some tasty looking sandwiches. However, they had plenty of shops and sales to peruse through, to make my relatives happy. 2014 YELP 365 CHALLENGE - 357/365 I rarely go to the Gilroy Outlets, but yesterday I went for the first time in years and I enjoyed it! I didn't go that often years ago because they didn't have that many good stores, but now they have added better ones and I was excited about checking them out! Some stores I checked out yesterday included Lululemon, The North Face, Cosmetics Company Outlet, Bath and Body Works, Calvin Klein, Kate Spade, and The Body Shop. I got a jacket from The North Face that was originally $299.99, and I got it for $119! So awesome. I also got a bunch of stuff at The Body Shop for 40% off, and $3 soaps from Bath & Body Works! I highly suggest looking at a directory or map online before you visit, or check out a directory there because there are 4 different buildings that aren't super close together, and you might not want to go to any stores in one building. Overall, definitely think the Outlets are getting better! Worth checking out for good deals. read more

I went here with a couple of friends yesterday to do some Black Friday shopping... we shopped 'til we dropped.. the end. JUST KIDDING! Kinda :D I consider this outlet huge since there was about four areas or side to this place and we've only been to two of them. Shopping is a sport. Carrying them bags is like a work out, haha Walking around is an exercise! Okay, you get the point. The two areas we were at had stores such as Express, Banana Republic, J.Crew, Kate Spade, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bath & Body Works, Coach and plenty of food options as well. Most of the stores has good sales going on around this time of the year since it's the holidays but you have to be patient dealing with rude people. Oh find parking will be a pain in the ass unless you're one of those lucky ones (like my friends and I) on finding parking right away the moment you pulled into the lot. So the other day, I found this sexy (yet classy and comfortable) pair of tall black boots at Nordstrom Rack. Refurbished, $80, previously $220. I couldn't bring myself to spend the money or wait in the longass line so I put it on hold, thought about it, didn't come back...yet I found myself thinking about those boots ALL NIGHT LONG. The next day, to calm my nerves, I headed back to Nordstrom Rack. And...THEY WERE GONE. Woe was me. So I gave myself a mission this Spring Break--to find myself the perfect pair of black boots to replace that hole in my heart where those boots were. The dilemma: Where to go? The Great Mall or what? (I'm on a budget here!) I thought about it and realized that I know nothing about the shoe selection at the Great Mall, besides that they have really ghetto stuff available. But...I've heard great things about the Gilroy Premium Outlets! And I don't recall ever going! "Premium" means quailty, doesn't it? So I drove 40 minutes (each way) for this crap. According to the Gilroy Outlet, older women like to go around dressed like Easter Eggs. Pastel and patterns, yay. Then again, maybe that's why outlets exist. Now, I used to think that Guess made quality stuff. Guess Outlet proved otherwise. Only at the Gilroy location can you deck yourself out in Guess clothing and end up looking like a potato. That was me in an unfortunate brown dress. Also, the store smelled DISGUSTING. Apparently, reject clothing not only looks bad but smells bad too. So basically, I drove to buildings A, B, C, AND D and found absolutely nothing that tempted me...besides jelly bellies and Fossil watches. Fossil was the best store, not that I got anything cause the watches were still $30 each. I admit that I did manage to spend $3 on jelly beans and a bag of tiny gummy hearts that is over a month old (Valentine's Day candy) at the Jelly Belly Store. Outlet candy here I come! Any luck with shoes? Not at all. Good luck finding something that is not only cute but in your size, unless you have inordinately small or large feet. I found a pair of adorable shoes at Aldo, only to discover that they were children's shoes. Goddammit. Then later I walked to Rue 21 (Are they biting off both Ruehl and Forever21?) to find those same shoes but in adult size! Only it was a knock-off, of poor quality, and available only in size S (too small) and L (too big). Sucks being normal at outlets. The best stores for a young woman were BCBG and Max Studio, but both were still expensive. You can find better deals (and MUCH MUCH cuter clothing) at Valley Fair without much effort. Also, the layout of the Outlets is horrible. You have to drive to different shopping areas, and the stores are awkwardly spread out. A lazy person would drive from store to store. I don't know what people do when they have to pee either. Indoor malls is where it's at...or the beautiful Stanford Shopping Center. I would compare Gilroy Premium Outlets to going to Ross after Ross after Ross (only with more expensive clothing). This is the place for people with money, bad taste in clothing, no sense of smell, and an affinity for brand names. read more

Twenty years ago when this place first opened, it was the biggest outlet mall around. There were even people for Southern Cal that would drive up just to shop here. Since then, many more and even larger Premium Outlet malls have opened around region, state, and country, but this particular mall is still brings in shoppers. Whenever we're on our way to or from Monterey Bay or Santa Cruz, we make a stop here. As mentioned by other Yelpers, there are the usual suspects found in almost all of the Premium Outlets: Banana Republic, Timberland, Gap, Kenneth Cole, Cole Han, Hanes, Coach, Nike,..... We always have the same plan of attack: -Start with the Banana Republic section, with Timberland, J Crew. (me, stop into the Jelly Belly store and get some samples of Belly Flops and Sport Beans). -Walk across the street to the section where Gap is located. When done, walk back to where the car is parked -Hop in the car, drive across the street, and park at the section where Nike and the Coach Outlets are located. After we're done here, we'll meet back at the car. -Drive across to the last section where Kenneth Cole and Calvin Stores are located. I'll make a trip into Le Gourmet Chef to browse around and look for samples : ) As far as finding bargains, it's really a hit or a miss. There may be some good deals, but many times, I may find better ones at the regular retail stores. I haven't been here in a while but I recently made the trip and was reminded of how great it is to not pay full price (duuuh). Lots of new stores have popped up, like Kate Spade, North Face, and Disney. If it's your first time or you need a refresher, I would definitely recommend checking out the directory online and mapping out your trip in advance to optimize your time there. There are 4 buildings total and it'd be ambitious to go to each of them in one shopping excursion...ambitious but not impossible! My personal favorite stores include Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Express, and LOFT. Most of them happen to be located in C, where In-N-Out is, so it's made the trip convenient for me! I've been able to find some budget-friendly work pieces that both my wallet and I are happy with. As for parking, I found it to be plentiful on a weekend at 10:30AM. read more

Gilroy Premium Outlets is vast. What else is there to do in the Gilroy area, other than getting strings of garlic bulbs, stopping by Christopher Ranch, or enjoying garlic ice cream? They offer good prices&have several helpful stores. Need shoes? Need pants? Need socks? This is the place. While the parking lots are enormous&the outlets themselves are huge.... one can find real finds... in every sense of the word! read more

Sometimes when I'm in the mood for shopping, places like this huge mall which consists of 4 complexes, can really appeal to me. Typical female brain will want to look at everything in detail - colors, texture, fabric, pricing.... They have some high end places clustered together and then lower end stores clustered together. It's an outdoor mall and fortunately for Gilroy, rainy days probably are not a big deal but I'd hate to be driving from one section to another and then try to look for parking in the rain. Erik's deli seems to have a monopoly on food but the menu looked dismal. It makes nearby In n' Out Burger look really good. Applebee's and Denny's are not far away either. If you go to the visitor's area, they'll give you a pamphlet (show your AAA card) good until 12/10 for discounts at listed stores on regular priced or some sale items (depends on the store). Better yet, if you sign up to be a member (free) on their website, www.premiumoutlets.com, you can print out discount coupons which may offer a better discount compared to the pamphlet from the visitors' desk. read more

A 3.5 score: Gilroy is an outdoor mall that has over 100 stores spanning across two plazas. They have everything from Coach to Ralph Lauren to Nike! A lot of these places sell goods for huge discounts, especially during sales seasons. Beware of this place on Black Friday though, it's a madhouse. There are limited food options: Applebee's, In-n-Out (the most busiest one I've seen), Erik's DeliCafe, etc. A nice place to visit when you want to check out the sales. For Nike, I prefer the San Leandro outlet as its discounts are sometimes a lot higher. I do enjoy going to Kate Spade and Crabtree & Evelyn here! Lots of tourists and lots of cars trying to find parking spaces during shopping season, but I think the space handles it pretty well so it's not bumper-to-bumper traffic for parking. read more

You have to be a careful and alert shopper. Not everything in the Outlets is first quality name brand merchandise. Many of the name brand and designer label manufacturers make special product lines just to sell in their "outlet" stores. These special products may be thinner material, lower quality or less durable just to get people into their clothes. Golf shirts at a name brand department store may be a heavier weight fabric, than what a designer label manufacturer sells in their outlet store. There are deals to be found, but do not go crazy just because you are at an "outlet" with "compare to" price tags. When you see a list price on a product's tag that says "compared to..." it means that it is a special run item just for their outlet store. You are really looking for price tags with slashes through the original price - those are last seasons, overruns, or returns from the major department or flagship stores in the local malls. read more

I think I've mentioned it in another review, but I don't like to shop. Sometimes I have to shop though, and that's when I look forward to doing so at the Gilroy Premium Outlets. I shop at the same shops all the time for my clothes and shoes - Adidas, Gap, Levi's, Nike, Pearl Izumi, Quiksilver, Volcom and Timberland. The cool thing is that they're all here spread out across several buildings of course, but that part doesn't bother me since I'm a fast walker. Because these are outlet stores most of the prices are substantially discounted too. Pick up a printed shopper's guide brochure at any of the restroom or information areas, and you'll find discounted coupons from selected stores for even more substantial savings. From time to time I walk into some of the other stores based on my needs at the time or just out of curiosity. I almost always walk into the Sony store, but I've never purchased anything. I like to look at the latest technology and their cool little hand held devices. I enter the Bose outlet for the same reason. I always think their products are overpriced but I like to check out the latest in sound innovation. There are tons of parking spread out among the four buildings, and if you pick a central location to park you don't need to keep moving your car from building to building. You can park in one spot, load up, then walk on over to another building. The extra walking will do you good. Feeling hungry? There's an In N Out Burger and a McDonald's along with a few independent owned restaurants for fast or somewhat fast food. Need more energy? Walk into the Jelly Belly store. If those little sugar-filled morsels don't do it for you, try a couple of packs of their nutritious Sport Beans. I carry Sport Beans in my fanny pack during marathons, and yeah those little babies pack a lot of energy boost. So I put on some bright colors or a moisture-wicking shirt (I'm in Gilroy after all!), wear comfortable shoes and grab a bottle of water and take care of that shopping that I so much despise. read more

I worry that the Gilroy Outlet Mall is becoming so popular that they've raised prices. While I was able to find some shoes for $40 that usually cost $120, but a lot of the other stuff I looked at was barely marked down dammit. I want bargains if I have to stop in Gilroy! Also the layout of this mall is so sprawling that it's barely walkable. You end up having to re-park your car three times to hit all the stores you want to. Avoid weekend afternoons and Christmas shopping here. read more

Not my kind of outlet mall. There are no designer bargins to be found here, the highest end stores are Coach, Banana Republic and J. Crew. Without high end stores, an outlet mall is an epic failure. I mean sure, it's nice for some people to buy a $550 coach handbag for $300, but really, for $300 in Cabazon you can get Gucci or Dior. I worked for Coach, and I really don't see the appeal of their products. It's a mass market line! But I find myself at Gilroy "premium" Outlets on the way down from San Francisco with a little cash in the middle of the post-season sales and I decided to look around. That lasted exactly twenty minutes and ended in exactly one purchase at the Rocky Mountain Candy company. I won't be back till the mall attracts some better stores! read more

The bf and I did some holiday shopping here this past weekend and made out like BANDITS!! All holiday shopping done within 3.5 hours...amazing! What's even better is that we had no problem finding parking there. I'd like to believe that the Parking Gods must have been smiling upon us that day. Now usually I'm not that huge of a fan of outlet shopping. Tons and tons of walking....tons of digging through the "sale" bins....and usually the prices aren't that great. But that day, the stars must have been in alignment because there were deals in EVERY store that I just couldn't say "no" to. 40% off the entire Billabong store, minimum of 25% off at Coach, scored 70% items at Ralph Lauren, ridiculously cheap (but great quality) pullover jacket for Dad at Eddie Bauer...and the list goes on and on! The bf was even wooed into buying some great new loafers and blazers at Banana Republic because they were so well priced!!!! With our trunk filled with holiday presents, wallets a little lighter...we left the Gilroy outlets as happy as can be. There are a LARGE amount of stores and they have a lot of your name brand items at the cheaper prices, which is the way I like it. That's all this is. I go here every year when I visit San Fran. It's about 70miles out of town and has over 140 stores. If traffic is ok then here is not an issue. Some of my favourite American brands have their shops here and use your Yelp check in to get the VIP discount card which saved me my friend another $50 on our purchases ;-)) In my opinion the best outlet mall in the area and worth a trip to pick us some great bargains. read more

I was given a Coach handbag as a business gift, I went to the outlets specifically to exchange it. It takes just over an hour for me to get there so here I am investing already 2 hours of my time to do this exchange. Nice Saturday, put my 18lb dog in the car for a little trip and off we go. Arrive at the outles that are sprawled over major roadways park and head towards the Coach store. Mentally noting 4 other stores I need to stop in and after all I need new tennis shoes, and Spring is just around the corner. As I get to the sidewalk EVERY store has 3 signs 1. No food/drink 2. No Smoking 3. No dogs Screeeeccchhhhhh well what do I do now? Just drove over an over, I'm a responsible pet owner so would never leave the dog in the car. I take him in Coach but carry him. Then I get right back in my car and leave. I will never shop Premium outlets again. I will stick to shopping my local merchants. Friendlier people, close by, and I can walk in with my pet. I want to note that I checked the outlets website before I drove down there. It does not say that pets aren't allowed. Disappointed. read more

We came here for the 4th of July sale, but didn't find as many good deals as expected. Although there were definitely less people than the busier shopping times, I would still suggest getting there before noon to get a good parking spot. There's a huge assortment of shops, but the fact that they are spread out across multiple street crossings makes it pretty tiring to explore everything. Nevertheless, I found some good deals that made my trip worthwhile. Also, if you plan on buying a lot, you should pick up a VIP coupon book (just sign up online) that has deals for a lot of the stores, such as 10% off $100 or more, $15 off $75, etc. read more

This outlet mall does have lots and lots of stores and it is very much a good place to come if you want a good deal on some stuff, as long as they have what you want. But, and this is a big but, I can't stand this type of mall that is just a bunch of strip malls all kind of around one another. The Vacaville outlet mall is just as bad. Why would they build them like this. Someone from the design team needs to take a trip down to the Ontario Mills Outlet mall in SoCal and see what a real outlet mall should look like. You pretty much have to suffer a bit to get a good sale. Yes this is the place to be. Parking is a little strange as you have to re-park your car while going from section to section. Why was it designed this way??? Thank you for contributing to global pollution. Wait till you check out the map of the stores, they didn't label the stores on the map, you have to look for the store name, then check the number and then look for the number in the map! Did you guys just hire some schmuck to make this map?? People don't shop that way, at least just label the stores on the map where they are in the map! Since Vacaville warrants four stars, so does Gilroy. The only time I go outlet shopping at Gilroy is for Black Friday. Yes, I am crazy but I have such an amazing time, shopping at midnight in the freezing autumn weather. Gilroy has more stores than Vacaville with four complexes instead of two. I have never left Gilroy empty-handed. Truth be told, I usually have at least three bags. I am looking forward to Black Friday this year, since there are a few new stores since I last visited. What I recommend: Go to the Visitor's Center and get VIP Shopper Pamphlet. (To get a free one you need to print out a pass from the website.) read more

The thing about the Gilroy outlets is that not all of the stores are at a discounted price. The Converse store, for instance, does not seem any cheaper than the regular Converse store. They do have a large clearance area, but those shoes are usually pretty fugly. The two stores I always go to the outlets for, are Bath and Body Works and Coach. BBW has by far, the best deals. I found this scrub that is usually $25 for only $4. I also got an $18 body lotion for $2 and a $40 tote for $4. I would drive all the way to these outlets just for that. Of course there is also the Coach store, which always has purses at about half off. They're not the newest ones, but they're the ones that were just in the stores. Of course, you're going to have to navigate around the flock of women, but it's worth it. read more

Who doesn't like a good deal? There are good deals to be had at the Gilroy Outlet mall. What the missus and I like to do is to stop first at Information, Building C, next to Erik's Deli, and pick up a VIP coupon book full of deeper discount offerings from all of the stores. The coupon book costs $5 or show your AAA card to pick it up for free. As others have noted, not too many high end brands have stores here - the closest you'll get to high end is Ralph Lauren Polo, Coach, Banana Republic, Cole Haan. I like the kitchenware stores like Calphalon, Corningware and Le Gourmet Chef. They also have a few baby stores which is good since we just had a baby recently! Whenever we have overseas guests, we take them here and they love it for the bargain shopping - especially the luggage. To begin or end your shopping excursion, I'd recommend lunch or dinner at either Applebee's or the Ginger Cafe. Both offer decent grub to keep you fueled for shopping. read more

Overall, I'm fairly impressed with the selection of stores here and prices that they are able to offer. We did all 4 buildings in 1 day! We mostly hit athletic stores and stores with Jeans. Nike is the most popular of all the athletic stores, but likely the most expensive. Adidas has the middle ground. Reebok is a part of the small building and seems to be the least popular of the bunch. However, they do sell Crossfit clothes there! Levis obviously has the largest selection of jeans in both sizes and styles, as long as you are looking for a plain pair of jeans. I'm not in high school anymore so my gf says I can't have loud obnoxious jeans. hahaha. For loud pants with ugly pockets hit up True Religion. Not many places to eat, but then again I guess thats how most outlet malls are. As spread out as everything is I think it would be nice to have some kind of shuttle. I didn't see one. read more

It's HOT here. Don't forget to bring water and bring sun screen when you're walking around from store to store. I think the Livermore Outlets are a lot better than the Gilroy Outlets, but the Gilroy Outlets is definitely bigger. The Forever 21 here is one of the worst one I've ever been to. Flat out crappy selection, messy. I did buy items from Adidas, Charlotte Russe, Pacsun, F21 and Express. Another down side is there's not really a main food court or coupon area like Livermore outlets have. We ate at In-N-Out Burger near Express. I'd rather go back to Livermore Outlets to do my shopping than over here since the food court in Livermore has a large seating area to rest and get away from the sun. read more

This place is gigantic and I feel like a kid in a candy shop when I pull into the parking lot. They have a huge variety of stores and I particularly like Bath and Body Works, The Body Shop, Calphalon, and Le Creuset. I will acknowledge that it's not really worth the drive from Oakland in terms of deals, but if I'm already travelling that direction, it's worth a visit. If you're planning a trip, though, look up the sales before you head out. They have all the events and specials listed online which is really helpful. Also, kudos for having an In and Out and Starbucks. Definitely miles ahead of usual outlet food places. read more

This place is ALL BAD if you want to don't want to spend $$$. I say that because it's TWICE the size of the Vacaville outlets and they are good deals everywhere. During holiday weekends, the deals are even better. The sales aren't known until they happen so you've got to get lucky. If you're trying to spend smart, I would recommend hitting up the clearance which is usually knocked way down from regular retail price. Just be careful, it might be your lucky day and you'll be leaving home with a car full of stuff like me. read more

3.5 stars. I really have to be in the mood to go shopping and I REALLY need to be in the mood if I'm going to trek all the way to Gilroy. The Gilroy Outlets are spread over four areas (Buildings A, B, C, and D) that you need to drive to (you could walk, but probably not a good idea if you're planning to buy lots of things because you'll have to carry all those shopping bags around). There are a lot of outlet stores, so you'll need to start early and have a lot of patience to hit up a lot of stores and sift through all the merchandise. Building D (this is where lulu, gap, Columbia, and North Face are located) is the smallest of the four. The stores I like to go to are lululemon, Columbia, J. Crew, gap, Banana Republic, Nike, and the North Face. This is only a fraction of the stores at the Gilroy Outlets. There are lots of mens and womens apparel stores, shoe stores, and accessory stores - Ann Taylor, Lacoste, Coach, Le Creuset, New Balance, Nine West, etc. Go to the Gilroy Premium Outlets' website to see a complete listing of all the stores - it's probably best to strategize where you're going to go by the four areas to minimize driving time and not have to waste time looking for parking. If you go on the weekends, it will be crowded. If I do need to go, I will try to go closer to the end of the day or on a non-holiday weekday. Sometimes the stores will have big sales, especially around holidays, and I've gotten some great deals. Other times I have left the outlets not buying a single thing. Some places I feel like it's still regular priced, for being an outlet store. Some of the stores, like Forever 21, I don't think are outlet stores at all. If you get hungry, there's an Applebees in one of the areas and there's also an In-n-Out (this one gets super crowded). read more

I thought I was getting pick pocketed left and right, but it was really just consumer-zombies running for shirts and coats at low prices. Seriously, waiting in line to BUY stuff is no fun. But what do you expect on Black Friday? I've been to the mall, Frys, Best Buy...but this was my first time at the outlets. Let me tell you as far as clothes go, these were by far some of the biggest price drops I've seen. 50% off EVERYTHING at Banana Republic...and everything is already at outlet prices! Spend 140 at Guess, and it actually costs 75...wtf?! 140 outlet dollars equates to like 300 regular retail dollars already...That's practically legalizing stealing. But the rush is completely real. I don't know if it was the poor state of the economy or if the Premium Outlets are like this every year, but it was a massive cluster-french-connection-united-kingdom (clusterfcuk for the acronym friendly). Parking was insane in the membrane if you weren't there before 12, and there were 20 minute lines for dressing rooms followed by another 20 minute line for the cash register. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON COACH. I just looked at the line and wanted 2 hours of my life back. But overall, I saved a lot of $$ and that's what its all about. Its an experience I suppose...I'll admit it, I had fun. But I'll leave you with a few tips: bring your own caffeine because the Starbucks line is never ending; get there before midnight otherwise there will be lines for everything; hit up Banana or Coach first if you plan to at all because those lines have an exponential growth rate; be prepared for crowds/bumping/crazy people running/madness. read more

Do you enjoy a good shopping experience with discounted retail apparel? I do! Well...Gilroy is definitely the best place to come. They have Coach (purses) to BCBG with low, low prices! Everything they have are all up to date clothing that you will find in department stores, only at just a fraction of the cost...you're saving yourself a good chunk of money in your wallet. It is a bit of a far drive coming from the Eastbay, Northbay area...but it's worth a trip. Each outlet area is located in four complexes, either across or next to each other. You can walk to each complex but I'm not too keen with the idea of walking in the heat. read more

I am intrigued by the bus loads of Europeans and Asians that get dropped off at the Gilroy Premium Outlets. The buses travel from as far as San Francisco, CA. However, I am not surprised that international shoppers want to spend a 1/2 day at the Gilroy Premium Outlets. The reason I am not surprised is because our small farming town has many jewels to share with the world. Gilroy Premium Outlets is one of the many jewels. The store fronts are clean and tidy. The only place that is sometimes dirty is the McDonald's. With that said, the shopping experience for young and old at the Gilroy outlets is outstanding. There are a multitiude of high end stores such as Addidas, Ambercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Bath and Body Works, Bose, Brooks Brothers, Sports, clothing, etc, just to name a few. The deals our outstanding and typically super lower prices than at regular malls. After the shopping experience, we love to enjoy lunch a Applebees, Inn N Out Burger, Pho Soup, or some other hole in the wall. I love shopping at the Gilroy Premium Outlets. read more
