Food is good, abundant, and "Irish" aka tends to be rich or fried. Service is OK. We've been here quite a few times since the week they opened. What I used to pass off as growing pains might actually be shortcomings in training. The food is pretty expensive for what it is. You get huge helpings but every time we've gone both my wife and I only eat about half. The location is perfect. Right on the village green and the new awning on the porch makes for a really nice place to sit and enjoy your meal. The clientele tends to be a little older, and I attribute that to the prices. It's a popular place for groups who have special nights out as well. The great news is that competitors in town (TwelveO8 and Tela) have expanded their menus and one has reduced some prices. read more

This used to be an amazing lunch spot for me and my wife. It has since changed ownership and our first experience was, well shocking. We were expected to get our own menus, condiments, silverware and bus our table, as well as go and request check. They refused to honor our gift certificate and said we should have followed them on social media. The menu was shrunk to a quarter of what it was and many signature items were removed. The food was average, it lost its flare, it really just tastes like frozen chain food. The beer taps and soda machine were dirty and did not taste correct. This is now just another chain restaurant, with average food and no customer service. Goodbye Gilligans on the green, you will be missed! read more

The food was mediocre, service was poor and I waited for quite a while to just get my water refilled. My guess is this place will have a hard time making it if they do not improve the quality of their food. The interior of the restaurant was the best part. The food is ok. The service is good/great. But why can't anyone figure this building/location out? There is zero ambiance. Perhaps negative ambiance. It's way too bright, institutionally bright. Yes, they have Celtic symbols on the walls, but that is not cutting it. All we want is a decent restaurant, that serves good food, beer, wine and drinks. Sturkey's was great. Station had a decent atmosphere but horrible food. Gilligans somehow removed any hope of a good vibe. But food is better, it would almost have to be. And could someone explain the $47 filet option? I can't figure out how that works. How many do you have on hand and what do you do if no one orders it? The best part of Station was the open windows and porch. Wyoming is a beautiful city and you've sealed it off. The bar is probably the best part, but we didn't get seated over there. read more

I love Gilligan's food and enjoy eating at their pleasant restaurant! Service is typically friendly although they often seem short staffed. Today I picked up one of my favorites to go - the potato leek soup. I was shocked when I got home to find a cup of watery liquid that didn't even resemble potato soup. We've been here several times and always sit at the bar. It's been a good experience every time. The food we've most enjoyed is the leek soup, the boxty, the loaded fries, and the burger. The mussels need some work. Usually I want to drink the sauce my restaurant mussels come in, but this tomato based sauce was bitter and bland. Hope they see this and make a change. ;) Overall though we love stopping in. Drinks are good, happy hour is a good deal, and we will keep coming back! read more

Unacceptable treatment by MANAGMENT, I will NEVER RETURN! I have never been treated so poorly in my life. Upon entering the restaurant there was a sign that said "No one in the front, order at the bar" "sit anywhere you like". The atmosphere is dark and a bit deserted. I walk to the bar with a menu in hand to place my order. There's no one at the register. At this point I've been inside for at least 7 minutes, I haven't been greeted or even seen anyone who works there. No big deal. Someone cones out from the back and helps me with my order. While she's talking to me this red head woman interrupts, rudely says whatever she has to say hands her something and walks away. I get my card out to pay for my order and the waitress walks away to make the drinks first without taking payment. My children are already sitting down as I am standing placing this order. The waitress gave them kids menus upon sitting and continued making drinks. While waiting for her to take payment she then looks at me and says "my manager says your kids can't sit there." I'm confused so I say "can you have your manager come talk to me?" She points behind me. The red haired woman walks up to me and in a condescending tone says. "Your kids can't sit there. You need to get your kids down, kids can't sit at the bar!" Wildly pointing at my children 2 feet away from where they're sitting. Attitude so nasty that the couple already sitting at the bar turn around and look at her appalled. "We aren't sitting here, I just placed my order." I say. "It doesn't matter kids can't sit at the bar it's the law" she's yelling and egregious at this point. "I'm just enforcing the law" and storms off into the back/kitchen. This made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, there was no other option but to leave at that point. Why even have people order at the bar if you don't want them sitting or standing at the bar. In a normal setting I'd be greeted, seated, and had my order placed at the TABLE I was sitting in with my family. I don't even drink. This loose way of ordering food that is moderately priced at that, now accompanied by piss-poor service and demands as if she herself was the police. No thank you! There is a way to talk to people and deliver important information,, this manager completely lacked customer service skills and class. I've heard of the decline of Gilligan's Brewery and how they were under new management. So much for that being a positive aspect of the revamping. read more

Gilligans has breathed new life into the Wyoming dining scene, occupying the building that most recently housed Station BBQ and, years ago, Sturkeys. The vibe is welcoming, especially thanks to the delightful hostess. They have probably 20 beers and ciders on tap. We tried several, including a cranberry ginger cider and a west coast IPA, which were delicious. The boneless wings were crispy with just the right amount of heat. They were out of giant pretzels (not a surprise since it was late on opening night). We heard they were great, so we'll be going back soon. Welcome, Gilligans, to the neighborhood! read more

We were visiting a friend who lives in Wyoming and offered to bring lunch. We ordered 3 lunches. Roasted chicken salad and 2 small Reubens. We waited several minutes for the food and were at our friends house in 3 minutes. The chicken salad was good. However it was supposed to come with greens and their were only 3 leaves of lettuce. The Reubens were just ok. There is nothing like a great reuben, this one was not flavorful and the bread was a bit mushy. Really wanted it to be good and it just wasn't. Though the sandwiches were the small ones it was plenty big enough, only ate half. Brought the rest home and then decided we really did not want the other half. 3 lunches, no appetizers, beverages or dessert. I ordered the chicken salad on croissant it comes with fruit and I also ordered a side of potatoes ( fried cubes). The chicken was not the traditional white looking chicken salad that I am accustomed to instead it was brown. I don't think it was mayonnaise based. Needless the say... I got the fish and chips which was a bit salty and the menu said it came with rye bread yet I didn't get any (didn't mind because the fish serving was generous) but the tartar sauce was awesome. I know a lot of local folks are excited about this place but we were unimpressed. The menu is lackluster with a lot of fried and heavy food which doesn't jive with the decor and ambience which feels more upscale. They have a limited wine menu. The service was friendly and we liked our appetizer of Burrata Potato Boxty. I had the fish and chips and hubs ordered the Reuben. Huge portions so that's a plus, it was way more than we could eat. After our meal we accidentally left our credit card and the host made my husband stand there and wait nearly 10 minutes (I know because I was waiting in the car) while he seated multiple tables before handing over the card that was in the drawer in front of him and had just been returned to him by the waitress. It was unreasonably rude to make him wait vs handing it over which took 10 seconds so things ended on a sour note. Not sure we'd make a return visit. read more

To start out, they did not have my reservation. But fortunately, there was a nice table for our party of seven our server took our drink and appetizer order but apologized that she was swamped. Two of the cocktails came and then the appetizers. The pretzel with cheese and the Ruben egg rolls were delicious. We finished those and The other cocktail still had not come. She took our order. And when we brought it to her attention again, the third cocktail finally did arrive. Two side salads and two gazpacho soups arrived. Maybe I didn't read the description correctly, but this gazpacho was like tomato sauce with a half dozen small pieces of vegetables in it. One minuscule portion of slaw came with one of the meals and one person never did get the soup that she had ordered. She asked for it and to go cup, and it was a very small portion. The food came out one or two at a time brought by servers who were not our waitress. She came over to check and exclaimed, where were two of our dinners, which we also questioned. They were out of their featured whipped potatoes, and instead of telling us that they just brought us roasted potatoes. I had ordered the ribs and they were tasty but a little overdone. Only two said they would order the same thing again. I paid with $100 bill. My check was $48. They gave me back a 50 and two singles. I asked the waitress to give me change for the 50 so I could leave a tip and she came back with two dollars, apparently I had paid my bill again. That was eventually straightened out. Loved the ambiance of an old fire house brought to life. The food was okay. The pretzel and beer dip was very good as was the potato and leek soup. Some items looked good but were not very flavorful, such as the fish sandwich. The coleslaw was tasteless. The whiskey salmon was not cooked properly and had been sent back to finish being cooked. The service seemed disjointed and our server forgot to get drink orders for half our party. He did not get our entree orders with our appetizer order. Well it's been about a week and we are coming back for our nice solid consistently solid food that's isn't far and it's t too expensive to come find out their menu is less than halved due to and event. It was very disappointing to be regulars at a place and give them a good review to be handed a fraction of a menu because they "need to be able to put food out fast". I'm not sure why or how a restaurant needs to shrink their menu if they are at full capacity. If they are serving people on the green, THEY should get a smaller menu. Not the people who make a reservation and sit inside. It's by principle that I will not be coming back here for a while. This is all on the ownership and the staff was still so nice. It's so hard for them because it's going to hurt their bottom line when people are unsatisfied with their options. Every person we saw sit after us looked and flipped over the menu to see if there was any thing else on it. So I would be hard pressed to say my family is alone with this sentiment. read more

We are very excited for this restaurant! Last night we decided to try it out! They are still working through the bugs of being a new restaurant. We decided to sit in the bar which is first come/first serve seating. Table still had dishes from previous customer..not a big deal....we got a seat! Server removed these but didn't wipe off the table. Ordered appetizer - Burrata Potato Boxty....cheese was ice cold and dish was bland, but looked amazing. Appetizer came out at the same time as one of our dinners and the person delivering the food asked if we needed anything else. (We were missing our other dinners and to have the appetizer come out at the same time as the dinners is not good) the server did not have a clue. We let it go. For dinner we had the Salmon, Fish and Chips and Cincy Shepherds Pie (this will be their famous dish) all dinners were amazing! Ordered a hot toddy, server recommended an Irish Coffee because they likely didn't have the ingredients for a hot toddy. He delivered the Irish Coffee with no whip cream (because they ran out). He did go back to get some creamer which was fine. It's obvious that the chef/cooks know what they are doing, but the front of the house needs some training to come into line with the back of the house. Only writing this review in hopes it will help them get better. We really want them to be successful! We will be back to try again read more
