Spinach Quiche
Melissa R.

Polite workers, quick line, decent quiche, and reasonably priced! If you need a quick bite at Miami airport and the Starbuck's line is ridiculous, stop here. My spinach quiche was served warm and tasted fresh. First time having a layered quiche. I want to try making one at home now...lol!

Cubana Empanadillas! So good, I went back to get more! Heated to the perfect temp and you get the nice bite of pickle. Located in the concourse H-J connector food court. Friendly service.

YUMMMM! I was flying out to Toronto but absolutely hate most airport food. I boycott Starbucks so no luck there. Took a walk around Terminal's J & H & almost shrieked with excitement when I saw Gilbert's!!!! Had never noticed it before but literally EVERYTHING looked & smelled amazing! Choose a Chicken Empanada & a Café con Leche (oscurito, plz!) & they were perfection! Literally the ONLY place I will visit in these terminals from now on. Not to mention that everyone working there was an absolute delight! Sorta takes the sting outta flight delays... sorta.

Arrived to the airport early at 6am and luckily this place was open. This is a nice spot for a quick breakfast pastry before your flight! I got 2 guava pastries (crispy and sweet) warmed up and a cortadito. $13.87 for everything. Friendly and quick service. Plenty of seating nearby.

Always great customer service when I come to this Gilbert's. This one is located in concourse J. They open approximately at 06:30 and close at 9:30 pm. They have a variety of different items to choose from. The place is a nice size comparing is at an airport. There is tables to sit and eat.

Bean soup, toasted bagel with cream cheese.

There is no food place at the baggage claim level. This place is at the ticketing level. Stopped here for a quick and small breakfast in the early morning, before heading to Port Everglades. I had the bean soup with a bagel and the wife had a spinach quiche, a delicious guava danish and the cinnamon cappuccino. All was tasty and the service was friendly.

The soup I ordered tasted ok, but my initial concern was it had been frozen in a plastic to go container and then microwaved. That in itself is unacceptable due to pfa's. Halfway through eating it though I looked at what I was about to eat and found what appeared to be a cluster of long skinny worms. The staff did not want to respond to my request to know what was in the soup. When the manager finally came he still could not answer what was in the recipe but said maybe it was celery. I do not believe that was the case. I would not recommend.

I really wasn't in the mood to try any of the food especially fast food in the Miami International Airport's food court but the bakery goods of Gilbert's Bakery caught my eye! I forgot to take photos of their delicious fruit juices and dessert treats! I ordered a Club Sandwich, an iced French Vanilla latte and a chocolate croissant(which I forgot to take a photo of). Their iced French Vanilla latte was delicious! They told me their iced lattes come in only 1 size. Their Club sandwich was also delicious too! To be honest I didn't finish eating my sandwich so I gave a bit to my brother who was with me. It was kind of filling for me. Their chocolate croissant was scrumptious! I had great customer service from the cashier who was ringing me up!

The food is very good, we ordered the beef empanadas which I would definitely recommend, the guava pastries are delicious if you're looking for something sweeter , they have a variety of pastries and desserts but I wouldn't say they fill you up , it's more of a what to eat on the go before your flight type of food , the service was very nice , the ambiance is good , kind of noisy, but overall it's a good place to wait for your trip, there aren't many seats available and of course the prices are high as you're ordering in an airport , overall it's a nice small place to eat quick food .

Low carb deli tray is great! I ate half & still have some left, if you can get the staff to Understand it exists on the menu...
Pamela M.

Ok, I was trying to order something off the menu, pointing, talking, repeating but the person at the counter could not understand me. I am not sure how many times I said the name of the thing I was ordering -- probably 6 to 10? Someone else came and seemed to understand me a bit better after repeating the same process described. It was a platter that described as low-carb. I just wanted meats and cheeses. There ended up being crostini like thing in there, too, which, hah, of course, I ate those. But, not sure how low-carb that made the platter? It was pretty generous in quantity! I would order it again, especially for airport takeaway food. But I do cringe at repeating the process I had to undergo to get someone to comprehend what I wanted from their menu.

Best key lime pie I've ever had for a very reasonable price considering it's in the airport. Nice staff as well.

I typically frequent the pick up window but snagging a seat inside is so nice, too. Inside it's just as small as you can imagine. So after driving around looking for parking, there is still a 97% chance you may not have a seat available. Sure there's some (2 or 3?) outdoor tables but it's usually either raining or too humid to be outside. On the slim chance you can sit inside, there are two tables and a long bar where they make the food (read: lots of smoke, noise and uncomfortable seating). In my last visit, sitting at the bar, I was informed there is a no-laptop policy. Cool, I get it--you don't want people camping in. So I take out my phone to check emails and I receive dirty looks from the staff. Whatever, but the worst thing was that the croquetas I ordered were absolutely atrocious. They tasted weirdly fishy, like bad recycled oil. The pastelitos looked a bit sad and over baked so I passed on them. It was stranger because on my first ever visit the croquetas were fine but this time-- I gagged. The coffee is fine but the rest is overhyped.

The cafe con leche was a little steep at $6.50 each but i think the experience was worth it. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and directed over to the register to ordered our coffee. I especially loved adding the vanilla wafer cookie to my coffee. We tried both the chicken and beef empanadas. Both were good, but we both agreed the beef empanadas were the standout. The flan was also delicious and definitely worth ordering. The staff were friendly and welcoming each time we visited. One thing I'd note for first-time visitors is that it seems easiest to order at the register, especially when things get busy and there's a lot going on. Great coffee, great food, and a place we'll continue coming back to whenever we're in Miami.

The hostess was very sweet & offered us counter seating, but it was literally right next to the entrance where everyone was standing trying to get out of the hot sun. Definitely not the birthday brekkie vibe I was after. And the parking situation? Diabolical. If I ever go back, I'm taking a Lyft. Once we got back to the car, I started thinking of somewhere close, delicious & that we could hopefully get into before 10:30, when most Miamians start making their way into the streets & every breakfast spot gets overrun. THREEFOLD CAFE! Hadn't been in a while & it was my dad's first time. We drove the 5min distance, parked in the ample, inexpensive garage & walked over. It was busy, but luckily we were seated right away by the lovely Ali (hey fellow Leo queen!), who got us started with drinks. Then my fave waitress Monica came over with her usual charisma & warmth. We had such a great time sipping their very good red wine sangrias & eating a delicious breakfast, including the absolutely to-die-for Don't Be a Lemon Tart French Toast. All in all, the loveliest, most perfect place & way to spend my birthday morning with my dad. Absolutely need to come by more often. Fantastic, consistent spot!
