My husband and I recently became new home owners and are extremely excited about having a pool. We want to maintain it ourselves so we were pleased to see a pool service company to offer a "Pool School". I called Gilbert Pool Service to arrange the service and spoke to someone very knowledgeable and friendly over the phone. Originally set up our appointment for after 5pm since that's the time my husband would be home. The technician called me that day and had explained he was unable to accommodate our time slot so we set it up for Saturday between 9-11. I work nights and woke up at 1230 to find my husband telling me the pool guy never showed. I found the technician's phone number in my phone and called at 1241. He answered. I asked if the pool school we arranged between 9 and 11 was still happening. He didn't provide me with an excuse with why the service was delayed. He just responded with "I can be there in 15 minutes." I spoke to him at 1241 he arrived at 117. More than 15 mins. I look forward to contacting the company about this matter on Monday. I was debating on giving the company no stars, but thought that wouldn't be fair since the technician actually showed up. Reading a few other reviews, I see that the company actually reads it's reviews since they respond to them. That's awesome. It tells me the company is open to feed back. With that being said maybe they will read mine..... If they do.... I feel like our time is valuable... Especially our personal time away from our careers. I work nights and my husband only has a few days off a month. Since your company has complete disregard for personal time, I don't think we will be using your services if having pool issues from here on out. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST! This company misrepresents information to customers. They were supposed to come out for an estimate on a pool heater and service to clean the pool. No action was to take place without the homeowner present -they were instructed to call before arrival as we are moving into a new home and were not on property. Instead, the technician let himself onto the property (unauthorized) and treated the pool with chemicals. Advertised fee was $85 per month for 4x monthly service. When told we didn't want to use the company because of what transpired, an invoice of $105 was sent. This was never agreed to and is premised on a misrepresentation. The company is also completely unhelpful over the phone and is incredibly rude. Plenty of other pool services to use. Beware of mail advertisements from unprofessional companies that cannot survive on referrals. Highly recommend avoiding this company -ZERO STARS SHOULD BE AN OPTION. Nothing was agreed to and the company's fake invoice will not be paid. read more

Gilbert Pool Service is where I should have gone to begin with! I have owned homes with pools for over 20 years both in California and here in Arizona. This company is awesome!! From the people in the office to the guys that work in the field! I see some bad reviews on here but no one wants to take the time to put how good of a job they have done, only how bad. I have went through 5 different pool service company's and finally found Gilbert pool service and I will never go away from them!!! With how good their response was to my call and how professional the girls in the office were and how fast my pool went from green to crystal clear I recommend this service to anyone! Since my pool was cleaned I've had 3 of my neighbors also sign up for service and they all love Gilbert pool service!! Thanks GPS for a great Job!! read more

Can't speak much about their services, but I can say their employees have very little regard for the neighborhoods they are in and the community around them. Today one of their employees was driving through my neighborhood, flying through the streets. He must have been going 45 mph at minimum on busy residential streets in Tempe. At one point I saw him approaching a family with three very young kids outside riding bikes on the sidewalk. He didn't even attempt to put down his phone or notice the children and continued speeding along as the mom frantically waved for him to slow down. With the name of the business plastered on the truck, and no way to catch up to him to get a license plate number or truck identification number (because he was hiking @$$), I figured this is the best way to make mention of he incident. First impressions are everything, and this first impression was horrible. Would definitely not want this company servicing my pool since I have young children. It's obvious that their employees are not concerned for the safety of others!! read more

In the past, I had a good relationship with this company and thought they were reliable and reasonably priced. That changed in the past few months. My son and his family were moving to Gilbert from Reno NV in December 2020. I called Gilbert Pools to help get the pool started up and for ongoing service. A guy came at the end of November and started up the pool. They had a winter special for $110 per month to include bi-weekly cleaning and chemicals. I paid $110 that day and the 1st service was to be on 12/15. They didn't show up and came a few days later. They said that they needed to wait until the tree by the pool shedded it's leaves and they would be back in a couple of days. They never showed up and I called and was assured they would be there that day..no show again. They came the 1st week in January but did nothing in December. Due to their unreliability, I called the service that week. So I should have been up to date in payments, in fact, they should have reimbursed me for December. Instead they sent a bill under the name of Debra (not me) with my last name in the amount of $210.52 for chemicals and services for December and January. I called them numerous times and sent several emails. Most of the time, my calls weren't returned but if they did return the call they told me they get back to me. Of course they did not. A couple of weeks ago, my son got a letter from a collections agency on this. I called them 3 times and sent 2 emails. The owner Rick left me a message stating that he didn't give a f*## who I contacted, he was going to sue me. It is still not resolved so I am posting this review. Please don't waste your time and money with this company. This will not show up and they will overbill you with no channel for resolution. read more

everything about this business is unprofessional and disgusting. from the way they treat their customers to the way they treat their employees. working here has been one of the worst experiences of my life and to top it off they took my entire pay check after having to take emergency leave because my girlfriend and newborn baby had unexpected complications. i never would've imagined they would treat me this way being i was their best employee but i guess i should've known when i saw how they treated their customers on the daily. please do not support this business. you will regret it. read more

The whole purpose of a service is so my pool won't turn green. Unfortunately ours and from what I was told by the service person who came out, 10 others in our area had the problem simultaneously. To err is human but the response from the "customer service" was combative and essentially blamed the customer rather than taking any responsibility. I have hired and trained folks to respond to service problems and this is an example of bad service 101. My guess is there are several customers with similar problems hence the accusatory approach. If you've had good service from these folks that's good. It's when there's a problem that is the test. read more

They did simple work well. However, when a complicated problem came up, the guy said he could do it. He quoted and I paid him full immediately after the work was done. A disaster started to happen. Every pipe he installed started to leak in a month. The worst thing is that the guy was complaining the poor quality of the parts, and never thought of his own responsibility. He decided what parts to purchase and purchased all the parts. Both him and his boss never said one "sorry" at all. Moreover, the guy never came by appointments, though I requested. He even never told me when he would come. read more

WORST COMPANY EVER... We attempted service with this company MONTHS ago, and while the pump replacement went okay, the Pool Cleaners NEVER showed up. Our first 3 scheduled cleanings NO ONE showed up. TO make matters SO much worse their OFFICE MANAGER or whoever answers their phones is SO incredibly lazy and rude. We ultimately canceled our services almost immediately, to which she STILL tried to charge us!!!! We never had ONE cleaning service and she was adamant that we still owed them money. I have attempted to speak with the owner of this company multiple times, and CANNOT get past the horrible Office Manager who answers the phones! We have now been sent to collections over this 1 months cleaning fee that we NEVER received a cleaning for, and when I just called to remind them that we NEVER had a service, she told me I was lieing and that she could prove it! I AM ASTONISHED RIGHT NOW, and feel the need to warn EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY!!!!! read more

Do NOT use this service. I gave them one star because I couldn't give them zero. I called in for a free estimate telling them that my pool pump was turning off and not turning back on. I was given a four hour window when the tech would show to diagnose the problem. He was late. When he did arrive, I again told him what the problem was. After 15 minutes, he found a bunch of unrelated work (that probably needed done to include the water autofill valve) and sent me an exorbitant estimate for completion of the work. I was assured this would fix the problem. On the day the work was scheduled, tech again showed up late, spent about 20 minutes doing the other work. When it was finished, I asked "how are you certain this will fix the problem." I was told, "don't worry, it will work." As it happens, I was leaving on vacation for two weeks. When I returned, the pool pump was off and, the water level was about half in the pool and completely dirty. I called them back, and after describing the problem the same way again, this time I was told that it was likely that the timer on the box was bad and it wasn't turning itself on and off as it should (after researching on youtube, this is exactly correct, timer is bad). I was then told that they would be happy to come back out, but of course I would be charged again for the work (albeit at a reduced rate). I had to take two days off from work, am out an exorbitant amount of money for cheap plastic parts (the autofill part used was the one a pool store told me not to use because it is cheap and known to wear out quickly), and I am back to square one. And oh, in the tech's haste to leave quickly after running my debit card, he didn't turn the water line back on which is why the pool water level decreased to half (even after I did this, the autofill setting was still too low). So, in recap, use these guys if you want to pay an exorbitant price for a few minutes of work, cheap parts, and end up back at square one (which is failure to address the root problem). I couldn't be unhappier, next stop,, better business bureau. read more

This is the worst pool company in the area. Don't waste your time. There was so much clean up and repair needed after they finished servicing our pool. read more

For the last (5) years I have been using Gilbert Pool services and I haven't had any problems. He is very professional and excellent service keeping my pool clean, maintained and serviced enough for my 12 grandchildren to swim in and he's also very informative and letting me know that my pool has to be conditioned at least once a year in advance. So I would recommend Gilbert Pool services to anyone, he does an awesome job!! read more

If you're thinking of getting pool service, do yourself a favor and skip this one! Worst experience ever...had to call about no-shows on more than one occasion, and was charged for services that were never even rendered. read more

I had to call every week to say the cleaner did not show up. They left with the backwash running, nearly emptied the pool and flooded the yard. read more

called Thursday to set up service for today (Saturday). I was told they would be here in the morning and would receive a call from the tech. he called me around 11:00am stating he would be here at 1:00pm it is now almost 2:00pm I tried calling his cell and it goes to a voicemail that doesn't except messages. I myself being in the service industry we call our customers when running behind. we would never let our customers call us. maybe they don't want more business or have enough. read more

Terrible customer service. Rick is rude and very unprofessional. I used them without problems for over a year, however something changed recently. I was told I would receive a phone call to discuss options about my pool filter that went out...I never received a call. All I got was an emailed estimate for an option I was not comfortable with. I cancelled my service with them and that is when Rick became very rude and quite immature. read more

AS A FORMER CLIENT, IN MY EXPERIENCE THIS COMPANY'S PRIORITY IS SCROUNGING FOR DOLLARS, AS OPPOSE TO PROVIDING GOOD-FAITH SERVICE. I define good service as doing good work regarding the assigned task at hand; also, good service includes having a conscientious, experienced and courteous administration staff. Unfortunately, my experience with this company did not include any of the aforementioned. So, my advice, when you terminate your business with these guys, and you will or at least want to, make sure they have your correct address, email and phone number. If not, it will cause you unnecessary and potentially harmful ill consequences to your credit report and state of mind. And, should you find yourself in the midst of these dark circumstances, just call them so you can receive a strong dose of impolite and insulting conversation - I only recommend this if you're feeling a little too good about self and want to bring your mood down several notches. PS: I've been served up a lot of "dark smelly matter" in my time, but this is the first time I have been motivated to make comments accordingly on-line. Good luck and best wishes. read more

Gilbert Pool provides mediocre work with higher than area pricing. I used GP for over 2 years for pool brushing and chemical service. During this period, they had at least 6 different cleaners who were polite, but never communicated when I had a problem. I could pontificate about my DE filtering saga with GP, but why? In the end, I fired them because of algae buildup in the pool due to lack of backwashing my filter, which I agreed to be responsible for...BUT, they NEVER communicated that I needed to backwash in order to help rectify the issue. A simple note on the door or phone call would have been all that was necessary. I disputed the last "cleaning" charge ($16 OF $65) when I told them they were no longer needed. They said that I must pay since the problem was my fault. Now, they have sent the bill to collections with an additional $35 charge. A phone call to ask about the lack of payment and to discuss the issue would have been all that was necessary. AGAIN, LACK OF COMMUNICATION!! I have decided to pay the full original bill of $65, and we'll see what happens to the collection charge. STAY AWAY FROM GILBERT POOL! read more
