First visit to Gigi and it was great! I am just visiting the Milwaukee area and needed a quick mani/pedi, so searched on yelp but not too many helpful reviews. Finally found Gigi and they fit me in no problem. Salon itself is nothing special, but great service and color selection. Also they were thorough without taking too long! I was in and out in an hour, and nails looked great. I got the deluxe pedicure and basic manicure. Next time I'll probably go for the basic pedicure, as the warm towels and exfoliant were nice, but a tad pricey. Highly recommend if you're looking for a casual, friendly, quick, clean, and reliable nail salon. read more

The place was cute and the prices where pretty good for a nail salon. My friend and I went together and her nails turned out great but mine on the other hand are not at all what I asked for. I got a full set with gel polish and the technician did everything up to the point right before adding nail polish and then asked me what shape I want, I told her coffin and she got annoyed with me for not telling her the shape before she did all of that. However everyone else in the store had asked before the costumer even sat down. Then she startes clipping and filing the nails and proceeds to cut the tip of my finger pretty good and ignored it even though it was bleeding which it is possible she really didn't see it because she was mostly focused on everything else in the room. The shape looks like an oval with just the tip half-heartedly filed to try to fix it. After all of this she only did about one coat of the polish so I can see through it and there are bumps in the polish on most of my nails. The nails are thin and look like they will snap at any second. I wish I remembered her name who did my nails because everyone else was wonderful except her. read more

I have been to GIGI nails twice and the first time they weren't the nicest. But the most recent I have been there the lady I got was much nicer and everything was going fine but then she was evening out my nail because I got acrylics and she made my cuticle bleed without acknowledge that she did it. But besides the minor mishap the place is nice. read more

i brought my elderly mother to this joint for a pedicure and she went to put her feet in the water and it was cloudy. we alerted the attendant and asked to be relocated to another chair due to water that came out being cloudy from the spigot. the attendant exclaimed that all their hot water came out that way ( however my tub nor the lady whose tub was next me did not appear that way). mother asked to be relocated to a different chair and they ignored her. then this horribly rude man arrived ( mom thinks it was the owner ) and yelled at us to leave. mom just reiterated that she just didn't want to put her feet in cloudy water, and he jammed my shoes on my feet and told us to leave. i was appalled at this treatment. i explained that my husband was a foot surgeon and that she is elderly and, according to hubby, cleanliness was very important for elderly feet (i am a licensed therapist and i tried to use as many calming tools as i could with him to no avail). i would not recommend this place dirty and rude. read more

made an appointment earlier this week, needed to get my nails done for a special occasion. i knew exactly what i wanted and i had pictures for it all. i showed it all to the nail lady and the shape of my nails are awful. they are so thin. they also only did one coat of gel, even though the color is very light. i will never come back here ever again. they don't know what they are doing!!! read more

I had an appt this past Sunday for 2 pedicures. My sister had Alex and I had a very nice lady. I'm sorry I forgot her name. They both did a great job! I'm really not the type to write reviews, but I liked it here so much that I just had to! I was having a really bad day about two weeks ago and really wanted to treat myself to a manicure. Originally, I thought I'd try about the new Polished salon across the street. However, they were strangely not accepting walk-ins and were "booked" all night, even though it was a Tuesday.....Anyway, after starting to drive back home, I saw Gigi's. I figured hey, why not? And I was pleasantly surprised by this wonderful salon! I was greeted openly and made to feel very at home. Even though I was a walk-in and they were full, I was seen after only 10 minutes. I was also promptly offered a beverage while I waited. How sweet! Cindy did my nails, and she was fantastic. I got acrylic with gel polish, and 2 weeks later it still looks impeccable! Greatly disappointed in my $32 pedicure which includes basic pedicure plus callus treatment. First, the length of soaking my feet in water was not adequate enough to soften the calluses to get them removed effectively, regardless of the amount of callus-removing chemicals applied to my soles afterwards. Second, the shaping and filing of my toe nails was brief and uneven with some nails taking the round shape and others - square-round. Third, the cuticle removal job left a lot to be desired. It was simply terrible, the worst I have ever had in my entire life! My toes looked better before I had that pedicure! The cuticles looked torn or plucked, not neatly and smoothly removed! Fourth, after scrubbing and exfoliating, my feet were rinsed in the same dirty water they had been soaking in (not clean tap water that I was expecting). Right after that oil and lotion were applied to my feet and I was given a foot massage. Fifth, the paint job! Guess what? Disgusting! The nail polish was unevenly applied to the toenails, leaving parts of them unpainted and reaching the plucked cuticles on the others. Bottom line, I wanted a pedicure, but I wasted my time and money. I can't understand all these people's comments about the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, how their nail technician did a great job, blah blah blah. I go to nail salons to get my nails and toenails done, not to get fixed by a shrink, so the staff's helpfulness and friendliness do not matter, but the skills DO! I do have great expectations when I am to shell out money for whatever service! Wouldn't you?? Never going back there again... read more

It's just ok. The staff is nice and friendly. They did a good job on my toes but the shellac on my fingernails started to peel off from the cuticle up after 4 days. It should last a lot longer than that. I also felt it was very expensive. $73 for a pedicure and shellac manicure. I can get the same thing that doesn't peel is 4 days for cheaper. read more

Not even worth 1 star! The place is filthy and the workers are very unprofessional! Don't ever get a pedicure here! I left this nasty salon with a fungal infection to my toenail due to their unsanitary tools. The infection led to a non-healing sore that led to a debridement! My technician's name was Rose. For $27 - no nail polish - pushing 20 minutes total time for a pedicure. My 90 year old Mom, who is a regular customer, treated me to a first time pedicure. We were walk-ins, not busy-employees sitting around on 5-11 @ 11:20. I commented how my water was really hot and nothing done about it. My Mom's was barely luke warm. Very Rude, my Mom had her back massage on. I put mine on and the guy told me it's $5 more, I told him to turn it off. I have both rounded and squared off nails - not even looking. My cuticles were never pushed back and some old nail polish never removed. My guy told me it would cost more for nail polish. When leaving my Mom paid for both pedicures, with my guy standing RIGHT next to her, and was handing the guy a tip along with her woman and the guy says "Are You Kidding ME?" took the $, turned away laughing and speaking in his language. HOW RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! When you disrespect my Mom, you disrespect me. Will Never Recommend This Place To Anyone. read more

I saw online that they are open on Sundays, and my shellac pedicure was way overdue. I got there at 5:05, and asked if they could get me in. They said yes, showed me to the chair, and offered me something to drink. As the young woman began working on my pedicure, I asked her what time they close on Sundays, and she said 4:00. I said I was sorry, that I thought they closed at 6:00! She just kept reassuring me that it was okay, that it was beautiful outside and that her and her husband were happy to stay open late. On a Sunday! And then she gave me the most beautiful shellac pedicure. It was relaxing and wonderful. read more

I am torn because I have been to Gigi's in the past and had a good experience so maybe it just depends who you get. I went today to get a Christmas red put on my nails and I am just not satisfied with the results. I asked the tech not to cut them just shape them but she forgot and cut one and then had to cut substantial length off all of them to make them appear even. I went in to have my other polish taken off because it was grown out but the new polish was painted on so high up the nail it looks almost as bad as the old polish did. In addition my cuticle was accidentally cut during the process and it bled fairly extensively and now looks rather unsightly. I understand that accidents happen but my nail tech never even apologized for it. An apology would have gone a really long way with me. The initial tech who took my old polish off was friendly and welcoming but the lady who actually did the manicure almost seemed like I was inconveniencing her. Like I said, I have been twice previously and had a satisfactory experience, but cutting me and then not even apologizing and then doing a really poor job just isn't worth the price. I wish I'd just stayed home and done my own, I probably would have been more satisfied with the results. Just a really disappointing experience today. I stopped in yesterday since I am going on vacation and wanted to treat myself to a set of acrylics, was that a mistake! I have gotten acrylics in the past but this was by far the worst and most painful experience I've ever had at a nail salon. My nails look awful...5 of my cuticles were bleeding throughout/after the service, my nails are all different lengths, some nails are cut and filed on weird angles, the polish job is terrible, and I'm still picking excess acrylic off from around my nails and hands. Now I'm left going on vacation with awful looking nails and my hands still in pain because I can't even run them under warm water without cringing! Maybe I got a new/unexperienced nail tech but still...terrible service! read more
