Came here for dinner with my mom. We wanted to try out a new place. Safe to say we won't be coming back. We ordered loaded nachos and fish and chips. Those two items shouldn't take long to make but we waited too long. When the food came out, I could see why. The fish batter for fish and chips was overcooked. Normally I would say something but didn't want to wait long again. Nothing some tartar sauce and malt vinegar couldn't help. I will say portion sizes are large however. Service was just mediocre. Yikes. We came today for the first time, and can't see ever returning. We arrived and were one of two tables initially. We ordered a kids grilled cheese ($8), and the adult pesto grilled cheese ($16). The kids one was bigger. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food, and when we did both sandwiches were cold and the $16 one was burned. Our waitress was nice but answered "I'm not sure" to multiple questions--like what Aperol is (ok, but it IS a sports bar) and if they carried sweetener for tea. She also had her hair down and leaned over the table which just seemed unsanitary--no offense to her, but most restaurants ask women to tie back their hair for that reason. We were reluctant to try this place because of its ratings, but we're glad we did! Our server, Kirsten, was exceptional, and she didn't leave anything unattended!!! Hence, the service was spot on!!! The meals were yummy. We ordered Brussels sprouts "Giddy style"...yum! The Poblano Burgar was large, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! The side salad we ordered with it was crisp and a decent size. Would definitely order that Burgar again!!! And we also ordered the fried fish which was good, and it included four pieces. However, the fish and chips, which I ordered at both locations, was far superior here at Giggy D's than at Proof--The fish pieces were larger and the breading not as thick. I like eating mostly fish and not breading when I eat fish and chips. The atmosphere was definitely "bar-like." There was a big crowd in the bar area but on the restaurant-side where we ate with our 2-year old grandson the tables were empty except for us. Walked in with my husband and son and sat ourselves. Great place if you want to watch a game & drinks buy as a restaurant this place was terrible!! Took 40 minutes to get 2 burgers and an entree salad. (The table who was seated behind us before we got there, ordered 1 thing, waitress brought it and was informed it was supposed to be lettuce wrapped and the waitress never came back with the right item. They eventually cancelled the order and left) One of our Hamburger buns was burnt and fries were ice cold (almost frozen, so he brought 1 fresh batch) The Bacon Blue Entree Salad was literally only a cup of lettuce and a half piece of bacon. I also added chicken to the salad which was not in it. The young waiter said he'd let the kitchen know & it would be right out. 15 minutes later no chicken. So I told the manager I wasn't going to eat the salad cuz I wasn't paying $11 (for such a small portion) plus extra $4 for chicken (that never came). When I showed her how little lettuce was in the bowl she took it and said she'd be right back. Needless to say she never came back so we left 10 minutes later, only paying for the 2 burger. She had told us the restaurant was on day 3 of a soft opening and asked us to come back and try it later. According to other reviews & advertisements, I believe this location had been opened sooner than that but regardless, they were in nothing of knowing what a soft opening was. Usually restaurants will post a sign on the door so patrons know what to expect, and they want feedback. We saw the owner drinking in the private room and had no concern to know what was going on in his restaurant or stopping at tables. There was really only 1 main server. At times I'd see a random person come out from the back to clear a table or bring food out. In a few months I'll give this place 1 more try. They really need to add more items to the menu and lower their food prices if they want to keep this a restaurant rather than just a "bar" food atmosphere. read more

Had a bad experience the 1st time we ate there. (See previous review) The owner did comp most of our bill with a gift card in the mail though. Nice. Used it a month or so later, but don't remember what we had. So this evening we stopped in again during happy hour (5:30) to have some quick beverages and dinner. Wife had the poblano burger, I, the steak burger. I have never seen a slice of green blue cheese in my life. Supposedly grilled onions with it, but there were like 3 small strands. The burgers themself were good sized and tasted great, but good grief they were greasy. Salad and fries were great. Guess what? We had to ask for condiments, salt, pepper and napkins again! Although the waitress did ask if we needed silverware. When did salads become finger food? 1st thing I ordered when we got there was a well beer and a well bourbon and seven, from I guess would be the hostess. When they came I got a bourbon and coke. I mentioned it to her and then requested she put another round on our tab before happy hour was over. Well; no pun intended, but when we got home I looked at our bill and saw that I was charged for Bullet bourbon, not well. $14 difference. If one is to be charged for top shelf at least someone should have asked what brand. Then the miscommunication may not have happened. $70 with tip for 2 hamburgers and a couple drinks we expect better. I don't blame the help. We tried the new Giggy Ds in Meridian today. It will be the last time. The food was priced on the higher side, and that would have been fine had the food quality reflected the price. The waitress suggested the club sandwich, simple enough I figured, but it was terrible. Cheap lunch meat, cheap cheese lettuce was had a preservative added, and fatty bacon. My friend had the grilled cheese that did not match the menu ingredients and very little cheese. Another friend had the blue cheese burger and wasn't sure if there was any blue cheese. We went there for lunch on Tuesday. There were nine of us and we each paid our tickets separately. Heidi was our waitress and she was awesome. She kept our drinks flowing and was so kind. I had the grilled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. The salad was fresh and the portions were good. The amount of chicken was good in relation to the salad. The chicken was fresh and juicy. There are tons of beer on tap but if you like Blue Moon or Shock Top you need to try Mango Cart by Golden Road. If you want it really sweet, ask for a float of peach Monin (if they have it). I ordered the finger steaks with roasted garlic and Parmigian fries. First time I ever had those; they are great. I opted for teriyaki sauce instead of the cocktail sauce it comes with. We couldn't resist the skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. I want to try the fresh fruit cobbler but what a way to finish dinner. Order it before you finish dinner because it takes 15 minutes to cook. I have to tell you I am three beers in and feeling pretty good. This can make writing a review pretty tough. Thank God for spell check. (Lisa is my DD.) I couldn't resist the Mango Cart is so good, hard to find anywhere else, and served ice cold. As good as it is, I saved the best for last. My BLTA was dry, I mean DRY! Bread so toasted it cut my mouth with maybe a teaspoon of mayo. The lettuce was shredded, about a tablespoon or so. Two very skimpy pieces of bacon. The only saving grace was the tomatoes, two good sized slices. The avocado was sliced thinner than I've ever seen, don't know how they got them off the knife they were so thin. So basically it was a dry tomato sandwich. My wife's chicken sandwich was also DRY. Two pieces of bread a couple of pickle slices and a good portion of fried chicken. She put the ranch dressing from her salad on the sandwich. These were $16 sandwiches. I expected much better. We won't be back. read more

Benjamin was the bartender and greeted me immediately. He made a perfect old fashion, twice... I also had their chips and salsa. I was pleasantly surprised at the peppered chips and homemade salsa. First and probably last time coming to this establishment. As you will see on my receipt, We showed up at 12:30, put in our order at around 1240 and did not receive our meal until around 135. During this hour and ten minutes that we were waiting, I had to reach out to another waitress/waiter to see if it was possible to get another drink since I had been waiting for almost 15 minutes since my last drink was finished and had to ask if our food was almost done as we had been waiting for over 45 minutes for a chicken sandwich and wings. Our waiter finally came over to us and said that it was taking long because they only had one cook, but we noticed people that had came in after us with their meal. We received our meal. I went to take a bite into my chicken sandwich, and it was as hard as a rock and inedible. It had charcoal pieces on it, and the middle of the chicken sandwich was very rubbery, called my waiter over and explained and showed him what my sandwich looks like, and all he said, was we hand batter and place it on the grill. I think that was the reason why we had to wait so long because it felt like this chicken sandwich was on the grill for the entire 45 minutes. The waiter did take off the sandwich for my bill but , but stated that there was no manager there and so he couldn't do anything else. I did make it clear to the waiter that I wasn't there to get anything else. I just wanted to have a nice lunch with my son. the waiter handed my bill to me and walked away. I don't understand how an establishment does not have their manager there during the lunch rush. On the contrary, the wings that were ordered had very good flavor and the fries and fry sauce were tasty. read more

Upon entering, we were instantly greeted with a friendly smile & a nice welcome from a gentleman who seated us promptly & asked what we would like to drink. Our waitress was friendly & gave us good service. We liked the ambiance as this bar has approximately 21 TV's for sports fanatics. So here comes the negative piece of my review. I don't feel like I have high expectations, but I do know what good food tastes like. The food was not good at all! The Buffalo cauliflower tasted like the cauliflower had been boiled & then Sriracha poured over the top with blue cheese sprinkled around. Taste was so terrible, I ate only 2 pieces. The Sweet Thai Chili hot wings were mostly sweet, no spice, and didn't taste good. The blue cheese to dip them in was awful. My husband ordered finger steaks & said they were not great. So the best thing we ate was the french fries that came with his finger steaks. We were disappointed enough that we will never be back for food. Maybe a cold beer.
