This was done in just a few days but when I picked it up I was told that they didn't put the original pull switch back because the wiring came with a rotary switch near the plug. I was also told that he staggered the lights because it was safer for the glass globes. I told them the lamp was already staggered and this seemed like news to them. I took the lamp home but wasn't happy about not having the middle pull switch. I returned it to have them reattach it. The gentleman showed me a switch with a tiny little chain and told me that it was the original switch. I told him it wasn't because the original was longer and had a ball on the end. He produced another little chain with ball but it didn't look right. I left him to it and it was returned with what I believe is my original pull switch. However, after dropped it off the second time, I was concerned that the integrity of this lamp was being compromised. I called and shared my concerns with Celia. It was a tense conversation and I admit I wasn't pleased. The gentleman was terse with me when I picked it up the second time but I expected that. PROs: The price was reasonable. The paint job was good. They provided the extra screws I requested to hold the globes. They gave me a set of hanging hooks. CONs: He didn't seem to know what the lamp looked like when I first brought it in. Changed lamp by removing the pull switch without consulting me or asking if it was okay. Two of the sockets are askew so the bulbs don't sit centrally. Didn't know which switch was mine when I brought it back and had to provide them a picture. The lamp works and the paint job is great but I'm going to have a friend re-wire the hanging sockets to get the globes in their original staggered positions and to straighten out the sockets. I won't use J and C again but if you're very clear about what you want and document your electronics with photos before you give it to them, you'll probably be okay.

It had been installed incorrectly by our previous contractor during a remodel. It was hanging just by the electrical cord. When the contractor came to remove it a piece of the crystal bobeche broke into many pieces. We took the entire chandelier to J&C for repair and refurbishing. Jorge disassembled the entire chandelier so that it could be rewired and cleaned. He did an amazing job! This is a lost art and Jorge has the expertise and patience to do it right. It was done in about 2 weeks, in time for Christmas. Thank you Celia and Jorge for being there when we needed your services. Anyone needing lamp, or chandelier repair should look first to J&C.

I went to most of the usual haunts - various lighting stores, department stores, even Ikea on someone's suggestion. While there was some OK stuff, I found nothing that wowed me. Doing another web search, I found Urban Lighting and made it down to the store. As nice as the pieces looked online, they even looked better in person. The staff let me know I could browse around at my leisure and to let them know if I had any questions. After looking at a few, I inquired about the pricing and found them a good value. Yeah, some were out of my budget, but I also found some that were in my range and very nice. Mark was extremely helpful in getting my order placed, and his recommendation of using Electric Green to install the light was a great choice. I know I'll be back when I'm redoing some other fixtures around the house, and can't wait to see what really cool items they have to show me. So if you're decorating a dorm room, this probably isn't the place. If you're decorating a home, though, you owe it to yourself to check this place out.

My Grandfathers coffee table was bought in the early 50's and was passed down to my dad. My Grandpa has been dead for 38 years now, so this is one of the last things we had that was connected to him. I found the table rotted in the back of a shed on the property last year and decided to just tell my dad it was being thrown away and brought it 450 miles back to San Diego. I had heard of Steve and the outstanding work he has been doing for a long time. I took it to him on the off chance there was a possibility he could do anything with it. This review is based solely on the consultation visit, not on any work performed. James came by to look at a wall in our home that needed painting. Prior to the visit, I explained the scope of the job during our call and emphasized that it was best assessed in person, as I had already received a quote from another company over the phone which seemed expensive for a simple job. At the end of the consultation, he pushed for us to agree to and commit to the job on the spot. When we said we weren't ready yet, he stated that he wouldn't prepare a quote for us if we were "just going to sit on it." We explained that we wanted one more company to come out and evaluate the work before making a decision. He appeared offended by this and responded, "I thought you already told me someone quoted you?" I clarified that the quote I had received was over the phone, not from an in-person visit like his. He then went on to brag about having serviced many homes in the area and said we would "definitely be calling him." I don't appreciate sales tactics like this.

They have GREAT selection of very high quality and expensive materials very hard to find in other places. I got recommendation to Terence by our interior designer Peggy Dupuis to review some Italian mosaic for our spa. We never met before, so I asked Terence if it's possible to meet on weekend, because I'm working every day and driving from OC to La Jolla is pretty time consuming. They are not working, but he agreed to meet in person on any day of the weekend to accommodate our request! When we came in he was prepared with all materials we pre-selected (through internet photos), he helped me check them outside (under sun) and inside in low light. Presented different alternative options, but we finally decided on the same brand (Bisazza, Italy) but 2 different colors. He then gave us 2 packages of these small tiles, since my wife was not able to drive to La Jolla. Which made our decision process (especially for my wife, you know women are very picky to all that stuff :) ) much easier. I'm very happy with Terence and can recommend Tuo Sogno to someone who is looking for premium materials along with Great Attention to your needs, details, concerns, ideas, likes, disliked and other stuff you have :) Terence - thank you for meeting me on Saturday, we got your tiles (Bisazza) which is way better in person than on the picture!
