Ceiling boards installed improperly
Raphael W.

Strongly caution against working with them. They want to be paid upfront and now I know why. Not only are they repeatedly not showing up when they are supposed to, the installation itself is abysmal. Maybe they are fine if you just buy the materials, but save yourself the headache and have actual professionals install it. Cabinets are shoddily put in, nothing aligns, and everything is crooked. David is impossible to get a hold of and doesn't respond to messages. His crews are MIA and not even David can get a hold of them. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this has been a continuous nightmare. Yes they are less expensive than others, but now I know why...

I had worst experience with Better Cabinet and Granite. You get what you pay for....... DO NOT be enticed by their prices. Their customer service and quality of product was HORRIBLE. They don't even stand by their return or cancellation policy. David our salesperson was initially nice and helpful until the order was placed by my contractor. I personally went to Better Cabinets and spoke with David to ensure the order was placed correctly. The order was 6 weeks late with very poor communication. The delivery was an absolute disaster. It's as if no care was taken in ensuring that the cabinets arrived in the condition, they were meant to be in. They were not wrapped and were covered by cardboard pieces. The delivery crew they sent were not equipped to handle the job. Multiple cabinets had broken legs. It wasn't a minor crack or a slight bend. They were outright broken. The exterior had scratches and chips. I'd understand if there were a small scratch due to transit, but this was on a whole different level. It looked like they had been dragged through gravel! David swore up and down they were brand new cabinets. EVERY cabinet had an issue. - The interior of the cabinets were not spared either. They had chips, which makes me question the quality of the materials used and the care taken during assembly. - As if the damage wasn't enough, several pieces were missing. The assembly quality was perhaps the most disappointing of all. For a product and service that one pays a significant amount for, I was expecting at least basic standards of workmanship. The boxes not only looked poorly put together, but upon having two other professional cabinet companies inspect them, the consensus was that they looked used! The worst of it was that David and Better Cabinets to no accountability for the situation. David was extremely disrespectful to me and my contractor offering no viable solutions. It's extremely disheartening to have invested time, money, and trust into a company, only to receive a product that feels like it has already weathered years of wear and tear. The name "Better Cabinets" now feels bitterly ironic. I genuinely hope that this feedback serves as a wake-up call for the company to make drastic improvements in their product quality and customer service.

This company has a great customer service and also a hard worker team . They work really fast and they give excellent result. I'm so happy with the result . I really recommend this company.Thank you

Better Cabinets did an amazing job with our kitchen renovation. I am very pleased with the quality of work & quality of the cabinets. David was very cooperative and put a lot of effort to please his customers to make sure they are satisfied with the work. His team was very professional and skillful in their work. I strongly recommend their work!

We recently purchased our first home. After a few quotes and ensuring the quality was to par with Lowe's, we decided to go with them for a fraction of the cost. We saved thousands and are very happy with the quality. Be prepared to stay flexible for install times, not a problem for us as we were happy to have saved so much. We completed the demo of the kitchen wall & pony wall construction. They completed the cabinet install and countertop install.

cannot remember the name of this quartz but it is gorgeous has some sparkle to it!

Cabinets are beautiful!!! quartz countertops for a few more dollars worth every penny... Ordering was fast & easy with help from contractor (jose medina) but seriously great product! Jose Medina's installation was perfect!

Without counters and I already love!

Bill was great, and Jose the installer was also. From the beginning Bill was professional, friendly, and helpful in layout. The cabinets are soooo nice! Jose and his son installed and they were extremely professional, conscious of our home, and precise in ever detail down to installing handles. I wish every company with good products had the same quality, hard working, and considerate employees. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.

Cabinets and granite countertops

I was a little skeptical at first because their prices are so good but then I am truly happy with the work they have done. The cabinets are of great quality and the workmanship was great. Now I have a beautiful kitchen

Okay these people finally came over to do the little fixing that I needed thank you again Jerry. And Juan! I love them they're like family first time you could ever trust anybody to do stuff to your house. I highly recommend them especially Jerry he's like a uncle that you never had that's a great handyman I will see them again one day maybe to do my yard not my cabinets are all done and I'm a happy camper. Love you folks you work really hard

My husband and I shopped around 9 different places in San Diego, searching for quartz countertops for our kitchen. Of all the places we visited, Better Cabinets and Granite had the most reasonable price and a variety of selection of stones to choose from. Edward greeted us right away and asked us all the right questions to help us find what we were looking for. He was very patient, helpful, and attentive; he reviewed our kitchen layout and measurements in order to calculate how much pre-fab stone we need, and come up with creative suggestions to minimize waste and the number of seams. Edward gave us a quote right then and there for the amount of material we'll need for our kitchen. We ended up going with the calacatta quartz. While we were discussing with Edward, Juan (the project manager) happened to be at the store and also reviewed our kitchen blueprint. Juan ended up coming to our house that same day to give us a free quote. He was very honest, professional, and personable. Juan's labor cost was the most competitively priced compared to the 8 other places we went to. We ended up going back to buy the quartz from Edward that same day. And less than a week later, Juan's team was at our house to cut and install the countertop for our kitchen. I'll be honest - I'm pretty picky (and hard to please). But I was blown away with the results of the countertop installation in our kitchen after it was done. My husband and I highly recommend Edward and Juan for your cabinet and countertop needs. We'll be recommending them to all of our friends who are doing remodels in the San Diego area.

Love our granite and cabinets!

Being so far away we needed someone to trust in our Design build project. They were a great help in recommending trades and suppliers for our 2 day visits to get the project started.Their CM Shelly worked with my Architects through a very complicated and detailed design and plans to create a truly impressive project. The work was on time, with what's up work meetings and excellent communications with my associates as the project proceeded. Best of all when there were problems Shelly helped fix everything including a day long final punch list inspection where every single detail was taken care of perfectly to my exacting satisfaction. Very impressive and one more example of Shelley's client service. Pictures of their work on this project are available. I would hire ED&B for any project and wish they were in NY for my apartment and home projects as my in house CM department. PW Scott Engineering & Architecture PC Peder Scott President

My designer, Mary Jennings, listened closely to my vision and translated it into a beautiful, functional layout that exceeded my expectations. Once construction began, Project Manager Marcel Moore kept everything running like clockwork, ensuring the timeline stayed on track and keeping me updated every step of the way. The craftsmanship is top-tier. Construction Tech Isaias Sanchez laid a flawless foundation for the work, and Finish Carpenter Ben Hawes executed the detailed woodwork with absolute precision--his attention to detail is truly impressive. Additionally, Javier Madrigal, the electrician, was efficient, neat, and made sure all the lighting and electrical elements were perfectly placed and up to code. If you want a team that delivers high-quality work, communicates well, and respects your home, I highly recommend Mary, Marcel, Isaias, Ben, and Javier at Remodel Works Kitchen and Bath. I am already planning for my next project, and they will be who I choose. Thank you all so much!

UPDATE -- IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S PUBLIC COMMENTS…read more George, your response unfortunately reinforces one of my central concerns about Remodel Works: rather than addressing legitimate complaints professionally, you appear more interested in arguing with customers and questioning their credibility. Let's begin with your claim that you called me and I didn't answer. That is categorically false. YOU personally assured me someone would call by the end of the day. I was specifically waiting for that call, which never came. That's precisely why I texted the project manager shortly after 5 p.m. Portraying me as someone who ignored a call and then demanded answers is simply untrue. Instead of acknowledging that missed commitment, you sent a condescending video criticizing me for contacting your employee after hours. You didn't introduce yourself or identify your position. I initially had no idea who was addressing me. Regarding the video, yes, I shortened it. I shared the portion specifically relevant to your manner of communicating with a customer. I never represented it as the entire video or a complete account of our remodeling dispute. The excerpt accurately reflects your words and tone. Suggesting I edited it to deceive people is speculation about my motives, not fact. Regarding signed drawings, they don't erase our detailed conversations and instructions. We specifically discussed clear glass and having the shower door open in EXACTLY the same location as before the original glass was removed. We even showed your project manager photographs of a shower at another property to clarify what we wanted. Nevertheless, your company installed a different, awkward configuration, with hinges positioned near the center of a large glass section. Other experienced contractors, including the professionals who corrected it, raised concerns about that arrangement and whether the glass was adequately supported. This wasn't simply buyer's remorse. The installation did not reflect what we expressly requested. And what about the cabinets? They arrived incorrectly and were installed incorrectly. Nobody from your company appeared to recognize the problem until I pointed it out. Where was the quality control? Despite these issues, your company would only correct the glass installation if we paid full retail price. We ultimately hired another contractor who corrected it for substantially LESS than you proposed charging us. You mention that nearly two years have passed. What does that have to do with the validity of our experience? Is a bathroom remodel only expected to last a year or two? Homeowners invest significant money expecting years of quality and durability. Time doesn't erase what happened. Your comments about my other reviews and honesty are equally irrelevant to the workmanship and service issues. And your sarcastic reference to my "Positive Vibes" shirt was especially disappointing. Having a positive outlook doesn't mean accepting poor workmanship, broken commitments, or disrespectful treatment. To me, positivity includes accountability, honesty, and respect. Mistakes happen in construction. What matters is how a company responds and whether it stands behind its work. In our experience, Remodel Works failed on both counts. Regardless of how you choose to respond, I believe anyone who reads this exchange can see why I described your approach as defensive and argumentative. Rather than acknowledge the problems and make them right, you've focused on attacking my credibility and insisting you're correct. I stand by my account, and I trust prospective customers to judge both the work described and your response for themselves.

Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We were indecisive about the primary cabinet color (I was very worried we'd be stuck with something we didn't really like) but he worked with the cabinet makes to give us several samples to choose from. He was very patient with us. We LOVE how everything turned out! We'll definitely be using Lumina Builders for all of our future projects.
