Lots of self check out spots and check stands that are actually staffed with people. It's a calm chill place which is nice and not chaotic like going to Walmart or Aldi. Since being acquired by Safeway/Albertsons, the "specialty", in a specialty store, has pretty much vanished. I still do believe that their bistro meals, ordered with care, can be a budget, friendly, yes, I do mean budget, friendly, alternative to fast food (herb, roasted turkey dinner with fingerling potatoes and green beans are $16 and can last for two meals) Their carrot cake, has always been exceptional and remains so The disappointing part is how Balducci's now stocks basically Safeway products and up charges considerably for them. (perfect example is their prepared coleslaw. ) Items like cucumber salad, herring nibs, and other items have disappeared in favor of commercially packaged items. I always found their fish to be fresh and flavorful, but now I have seen a decline in the quality of their fish. Recently , I went to get one of their wonderful cups of coffee and found that that Service no longer is available. Although tje food options are the same from what I saw, some of the prices looked lower than what I have seen in Virginia stores. I mainly wanted to see if there was much of a difference.   There wasn't,  but the floors were a little messier than the Virginia stores I have been to.   Hey, it was very busy there, but some sort of clean up would be good.  I also feel the men's bathroom need a urinal mats on the floor,  because to many cock shooters are missing their targets. Now I am a fan of Whole Foods. The staff are friendly and professional. The prepared Foods are super fresh. WF is clearly a place you can loose time if you are not careful. While there is not one close to me, I will periodically make a trip. I did sample several of there prepared items. The London Broil, turkey meatloaf, and grilled sweet potatoes are my favorite so far. London Broil had a great cook and color on it. Charred Sweet potatoes were fresh and not too sweet. Charred brussel sprouts were filling. The glaze on the turkey meatloaf was fantastic. The meatballs were flavorful as well. I look forward to my next visit.

They also regularly have limited-time items like tacos, along with juices, muffins, and other options, so there's usually something different to try. There's seating inside along the counter, but my family usually prefers grabbing one of the tables outside when the weather is nice. Overall, really good healthy food, solid value, and plenty of options even for someone who normally prefers meat.
