I have a giant eagle right here
    Fox E.

Not to be confused with Giant Igloo, which is in Nunavut. But would also be a good name for this place in January sometimes. I was stranded overnight in West View while my car was being repaired. I shopped here for some bananas and snacks, which were fine. I spent the whole evening here using their Wi-Fi that didn't work very well. I did manage to find a working outlet, but it was in the closed section of the cafe. I got asked to leave that area once - and a couple of dirty looks - and the lights turned off on me - but I stayed there til close so that was good. Until midnight that is. When I was kicked out into one of the worst torrential downpours I've seen, things took a turn for the worse. I then had to sleep in the car in very cold temps. I was able to take shelter under a nearby store awning until the weather let up. But I do think they could have been much better about my situation, especially considering they were stocking shelves through the night and I wasn't bothering anyone.

Yesterday, I ran in for 2 items and a guy was panhandling in the store approaching myself and 2 other women for money. When brought to the managers attention (tall guy, white/gray hair) I was told well he's in here every day. So that makes it okay? I wish this store was better up kept, it's really going downhill fast. I guess I'll drive further for fresh products and having safety concerns taken seriously.

I often find myself there on my way home from work for essentials but also some amazing deals. They have great customer service and specials to keep up with the larger chains. For example, their 5 fo $19.99 deal. Selected meat and frozen items, mostly well over the $4 mark individually, can be mixed and matched and as long as you buy 5, the cost collectively is $19.99. It usually means I get at least one of the items for free. The selection changes daily but I've purchased steaks, burgers, ground meat and any number of frozen items (pizza, fries, burritos) to stock up cheaply. They also have special two day deals on Thursdays and Fridays that are often unbeatable. And let's not forget Wacky Wednesdays! They may not have the longer hours or wide selection on specialty food items that the larger stores do, but they more than make up for it with their hometown feel.

It contains departments for fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, seafoods, snacks, canned and boxed foods, frozen foods, beverages, dairy and eggs, household essentials, etcetera. Most foods are conventional, and not many are organic. I think that the prices are comparable to what other grocery stores charge. Kuhn's also sells postage stamps, money orders, lottery tickets, bus passes, cigarettes, etcetera. For over a decade, I have been a customer of this Kuhn's location off and on. For my most recent visit, my husband and I did our regularly weekly grocery shopping. The shelves, freezers, refrigerators, and racks were fully stocked and organized. No employees greeted us as we walked around, but the cashier and bagger spoke nicely with us. Unfortunately, after they scanned and bagged all of our items, their payment software rebooted, and we had to wait several minutes to pay. My husband called the employees "amateur" for not rebooting the software before the store opened. When I got home, I noticed that a package of English muffins that was supposed to contain 6 muffins actually contained only 5 muffins. I am not sure if the food manufacturer did not pack the sixth muffin or if someone in the store stole it.

Ditto for their fresh made chicken salad and tuna salad. A display case inside the door offers great fresh subs of all sorts (at the best price), decent sushi (made in Pittsburgh), deserts. So this is a good dash and go store. The regular groceries are no bargain, except sale items.

I have shopped here occasionally for a couple of years. During my visits, I had no trouble with finding parking spaces in the parking lot. I thought that the interior design of the store could be updated to look better. I needed to purchase fruits, vegetables, meats, seafoods, breads, and canned goods for my weekly cooking. The store was arranged well, so I easily found the products on the shelves in the aisles. However, the selection of products was not as large as what other grocery stores have. I wanted to buy some specific products that were not carried. The store, though, did sell one of my favorite drinks that I had though was no longer manufactured, so I stocked up on it. The cashiers correctly with rang up my foods, bagged my groceries, and processed my payments. The prices of the foods were average. I have not yet eaten all of the foods, but they look to be fresh and a decent quality. Overall, I do not expect to frequently shop at SHOP 'n SAVE, but this store meets most of my needs when I am in the area.
