Very impressive oriental grocery store with amazing selection. The aisles are wide, and everything is well organized. There is meat, produce, bulk rice, cooking supplies, and more. I can't get over how large and spacious it is. The clerk was friendly and the checkout was fast. I was surprised to see live lobster and frogs. Big parking lot. read more

This new location for Oriental Market is very large, well-lit, organized, super clean and has a lot of selection. It's probably the best Asian grocery store that I've been to in Pittsburgh. The reason I removed one star is because the staff is not very helpful if you are looking for something specific. I've had to rely on other customers to help point me in the right direction to find what I'm looking for - and that only really works when I had screenshots of the specific product I want saved on my phone when I go in. read more

Polite service, great variety, & fresh seafood and meat. Couldn't ask for more from this humble shop until I become a regular.

Ist time visiting as it's not close to to home but, Wow what a selection. Reasonable prices plenty of fresh produce and Asian grocery items. Staff was helpful in searching for something too. Will make it on my go to list for future trips to the North Hills. read more

I grew up going to this market with my Lola, always my go to for affordable prices and great selection of ingredients !!

Everything in this store is very organized. HUGE store with everything you could need, from fresh produce, dried seasonings, pantry items, snacks, frozen goods, to fresh/live meats. Very clean. Service at the registers is always quick. Love this place. read more

Family moved here and this was The Place to stock up on Vietnamese basics for the fridge and pantry. It's your local all things Asian market in Pittsburgh! There aren't many option so I can't say we could compare. Many things are frozen that are frozen can get in nyc fresh but hey we're in Pittsburgh. Helpful staff directing is on where things were. Across from Ross park mall and near a Panera and Dick's sporting outlet. Efficient and clean and not too packed for a weekend visit. read more

I love HMart but I wish I had this place back home. It's super clean and well organized. Everything looks really fresh and they had a great variety. read more

Oriental Market moved from its original location on McKnight Rd (since 2011) in the plaza next to Red Lobster, up the road a mile or so to 7300 Old McKnight Rd, near the entrance to Ross Park Mall. It is in the former David's Bridal building & now is super clean and new. Lots of Asian groceries to choose from & fresh black bean bao, desserts etc. Definitely a step up from the old location. If you cook Asian food, you will find your supplies here. Now there is plenty of parking & automatic doors to easily get your shopping cart in & out of the store. Plus it's easier to get into from McKnight Rd at the traffic light. Worth a stop! read more

Oriental Market - View of new location from parking lot July 2021 - International Grocery Near Me - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I am definitely no expert on Asian foods, but I felt pleased with my recent visit to this grocery store. The store was a good size, looked clean, and sold a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, noodles, frozen foods, meats and fishes, snacks, etcetera. The foods looked to be very authentic for Asian cuisine. I was not interested in some of the foods such as frogs and eels, but I found many other products such as beverages, soups, cookies, and dumplings to buy. During my checkout at the cash register, the cashier said hello, quickly and accurately rang up my products, and said thanks and to have a good day. Most prices looked reasonable. read more

I went today with my daughter and son as soon as we stoped by the fish area and they had terrible attitudes I was calling my mom if she wanted any fish and he told me hurry up we don't have time (he had an white hat on) and I turned around no one else was about to order this really upset me and then when we were about to pay the lady threw the bags unkind I never coming back they are so rude . read more

Great store great prices great service. I enjoy shopping there. They always have what I'm looking for and more I got some fresh duck there. I've gotten many types of sauces to cook with and flavor my food with. They have an abundance of vegetables, fresh vegetables. I enjoy everything about this place. I don't know who it is the owner of the Manager, but they run a very tight ship, and they do a great job and a great service to the public. Everything is always, easy for them to find very helpful. When I shop there I will continue to boast about this place. read more

This is my go-to place for Chinese groceries! It has authentic and quality groceries. I'd highly recommend this place for the different types of tofu they have. Their fresh garlic is also surprisingly cheaper than Walmart or other grocery stores. Some of my favorite snacks are the salted broad beans and they different kinds of mochi. Would highly recommend visiting the store! read more

I absolutely love this market! This is the most comprehensive and clean Asian market I've seen in Pittsburgh. Really makes me feel at home because they have all of the niche things I never thought I'd find here. They have a large selection of fresh Asian veggies as well as seafood and meats. If you love Asian pastries (sweet and savory), you'll also find them here. They have buns brought in from Chinatown in NYC. The frozen section is also very impressive and I think the prices are very reasonable here. They have Korean, Japanese, and Thai products here. Would definitely recommend this spot for all your Asian food needs! read more

So excited. The hubs said no to going to the strip district on a busy Easter weekend with questionable parking and I had a hankering for some homemade Korean bbq and hot pot ingredients. I then remembered my last nail tech told me her favorite Asian market was the Oriental Market on McKnight Rd. I knew exactly where she meant and knew there was parking so it was easy to drop by and check it out. I loved going in and exploring their various dry goods aisles, refrigerated/frozen sections and fresh meat and seafood departments. I got mostly everything I needed before the hubs chased me out, but I'll be back, especially if it's a Saturday. The prices weren't bad at all. I think it's comparable to the ones in the strip, but with the benefit of easy in and out parking. read more

I loved Chinese and Korean food and I go hear once a month. I find almost all the ingredients I need. Their new location is bigger, tidier, has some great variety of fresh produce and my favorite, all kinds of ramen. Reasonable prices. They sometimes have live crab! read more

One of three Asian grocery stores I frequent to buy essential oriental needs include Oriental Market. Here it is important to know what you can get and when you can get them. I cook a lot of Vietnamese dishes, not by choice, due to the lack of any decent Viet restaurants in Pittsburgh. I rely heavily on the right herbs, spices, meats, toppings, and produce that just isn't available at say Giant Eagle or Wal-Mart. Examples of meats: Oxtail, squid, certain fishes, cut pork spare ribs. Veggies: Ho Ting, Pea Leaves, Napa cabbage, bean sprouts. Herbs: Mints, cheaper shallots, ginger, peeled garlic, kim chi, lemongrass, Basil, etc. Asian drinks and coffees can be had: soybean, coconut water, special fruit drinks, Cafe de Monde coffee. I can go on and on but you get the drift. The other two locations are in downtown Pittsburgh by the Strip (Lotus) and Many More grocery store. Those two I have much less success with finding my usual items. Lastly, on Fridays are when the all the specialty items come in like Roast Duck, Roast Pig, and more. read more

I love this place, I really do and I would give it 10 stars if only there was someone to answer my questions. I am not asian but enjoy cooking different styles of food, especially Chinese, Indian, and Thai. If a recipe calls for (for example) fermented black bean paste I just KNOW they have it but the labels are in Chinese and there is no one to help me find it. I was once making a chicken liver dish and the very nice gentleman behind the counter sold me 5 lbs of chicken hearts which I didn't discover until the day of the party and defrosted the bag. He couldn't understand me, nor I him. read more

The best in the Pittsburgh area. You can find almost every ingredient needed for Asian cooking. Fresh meats and seafood also available. The place is also kept very clean. read more

New location, bigger store, and good foods - a lot of options as well. The price is reasonable due to the upgrade of the store. It would have been better if the employees (especially the younger girl - cashier) is provided more training on packing techniques. For the items like glass bottles (fish sauce, soy sauce, etc.), or cans, be gentle with them, DO NOT throw them in the bag... We do not want to spend money on "broken" items, or get home and see some of these bottles are cracked. read more

My daughter in law is from the Philippines and we go to the mall at Ross park . When I'm there I face time my daughter in law and walk through the aisles, and she'll see something she likes and tells me what to put in the basket. It's a fun thing for both of us. Also they have really good prices! read more

This is the most clean and well organized asian market so far. Definitely will Recommend

So basically they have a nasty rude attitude towards us Americans I don't like this so please fix customer service immediately she deadass slammed my items after I said ty after paying never COMING BACK . read more

This is the best Asian grocery store in the Pittsburgh region. It's super clean, well organized, fairly priced, and almost everything has an English label (for those of us that aren't multi-lingual). What an amazing place. Everything you can want in a bright clean environment. No more crawling through some suspect places the strip. Wonderful produce section, extremely large frozen foods area for those of us that just aren't quite sure yet. And many isles of spices, snacks and beverages. We drive over an hour from Boardman, and never feel it was a wasted trip. read more

As far as Asian markets go, the Oriental Market is one of my favorites in the PIttsburgh area. It feels much less cramped and chaotic compared to a lot of the markets we frequent, and the people working there are generally really nice. It's definitely very organized, clean, and cheaper than your local grocery store. If you're looking for asian cooking ingredients, avoid Giant Eagle, Whole Foods, etc. and head here. The cheap, fresh produce rivals the stuff you'll pay for at the markets in The Strip District, and you can avoid the insanity. Also, it's not too far up McKnight, so you aren't dealing with too much of the McKnight traffic to get there! read more

What a difference. My husband and I went here once about 9 years ago and it was a horrible experience. The staff and other patrons were not shy about letting us know we were not welcome. It was not clean (flies on the meat) and just so uncomfortable that we left without buying anything. I finally went back a few days ago and had an amazing experience. Very clean and friendly. I got a ton of product to try. Will definitely be back. read more

Hallelujah for an asian market north of the city! This place stocks up pretty much anything you would need to make authentic asian food and satisfy my craving for choco pie. LOL. Even to make egg rolls, I buy my meat, veggies, wrapper, sauces here eventhough I can probably get the same at a non-asian grocery store. Two advantages vs another grocery: (1) price (2) there are certain ingredients, veggies, fruits, and cuts of meat that are sold only in this market. They not only sell meat and produce but also frozen meats and seafood (for hot pot), frozen snacks (like mochi ice cream, mung bean popsicles, mango sticky rice), snacks, canned goods, condiments, kitchenware (bowls, rice cooker), and more. There is a small bakery in the back, but I honestly never purchased anything from there before. Two downsides: (1)parking esp on weekends. They are limited and tight; and (2) I saw a certain lot of soy sauce that may be expired. The only thing is that the markings didn't denote if it's the expiration or manufactured date, so just be alert. read more

Obviously it's not a lotte or an h mart but it'll do. They have most of what I'm looking for. I wish they had a bigger fresh meat and fish section. Also they need a fresh bakery section. All their items are refrigerated. They do have bai tang gao but since it's refrigerated it's pretty hard. My quest to find decent bai tang gao will continue... Again this grocery will do for the area that I'm in. read more

This is the best Asian grocery store in the Pittsburgh region. Plenty of free parking, everything is well labeled and priced, a lot of products have English labels as well, and the store is well-lit and clean. In comparison to the old location, nothing much changed. Maybe it's a little clearer. Wish they off a little more selection of Korean and Japanese grocery items. I thought we can use a little less of instant noodles (Cup Noodles) and "dry" good, and more of the fresh produce. read more

This new location is more clean, modern, and spacious than the former one down the road. It offers the best price anywhere on fresh bean sprouts, which I love on salads: 99 cents per pound, but beware: they do not remain fresh for more than five days. The bean sprouts are pre-packaged. You must be at least close to about two pounds. There are also good prices on a wide variety of tofu products, and this is one of the few stores that offers fresh tofu. read more

These shelves where packed and brimming with an array of Asian goods. I saw a rather impressive offering of dried dates and this girl loves her dates. BTW dates are considered a health food. I was only in the store for a short time and there was a huge selection. I ended up getting mango and cilantro and some wasabi peas. The cilantro was just $1.50 for a bunch. Mango was good too. read more

A fantastic orioental market! Walking in, you'll find a plethora of cooking sauces, equipment, spices, etc, yet beyond that the store holds so much more. I find myself frequently buying fruits and vegetables here, for they are always in good price and quality. Aside from that, the cuts of fish and meat are unique, fresh and inexpensive. The frozen section has an equally amazing spread of items, one time I managed to find Ube! read more

I'm was visiting from Northern VA and found this market. Quite complete collection of Asian food needs , fresh spices needed to be added for wide range collection.

One of the three major Asian supermarkets in the Pittsburgh area, this one is probably the most out of the way and least frequented, due to the lack of public transportation coming here. For someone with a car though, these are probably good reasons--parking is always available, and it's rarely crowded inside. Like Lotus, it has a good selection of a variety of Chinese dried goods and snacks, freezer department, small little bakery section, and fresh fruits and vegetables. One difference from Lotus is Oriental Market's meat department, which almost always has a wide array of different meats and animal parts in stock. Which is perfectly logical--Lotus doesn't need this as much to be viable since Wholey is right next door. However, one often finds Asian-style of meats here that doesn't always show up at Wholey (like pork belly). One gripe I would have is that the veggie selection, while good, doesn't compare to that of Lotus. Oriental's veggies are a bit less fresh, and they have fewer choices. read more
