    Eggplant Stack

Giancarlo's is pretty awesome! I have been twice now, and I've enjoyed the experience both times. I have gotten the MVP twice (and eaten off it three more times - it's huge), the cold brew, the eggplant stack, and the spicy margarita cocktail. Everything has been pretty good! The pizza is super greasy, but that's to be expected with pizza like that. The servers have been excellent each time. I have been with people who have allergies/restrictions both times, and they go above and beyond to ensure that those are honored. Everyone who I've been with has really enjoyed it too! I've never had a wait for a table, but I can imagine that it gets crazy at the peak hours. It's in a great spot, but the parking is a little annoying. However, there's TONS of it! Which isn't always the case in the area. I definitely recommend!

    Truffle Gnocchi

We had a party of 8 for a birthday reservation on a Saturday night. The staff is youthful and very attentive. I highly recommend the 14'' MVP and Honeymoon pizza! It definitely stole the spotlight at the table. Our entrees were a hit or miss. The Truffle Gnocchi was paired with dry chicken strips. The gnocchi seemed extra large compared to other patron photos and tasted dry as well with little sauce. The Chicken Parm Sandwich should've been called the "The Loaf Boat" -see picture attached. The Chicken Parmiagani was average. The Hot Honey Lemon Pepper Wings and Calamari were a home run! Overall, I would return exclusively for the pizza and appetizers.

I really enjoyed the pizza, we got the west village and the fig jam was so amazing! I honestly think it might be even better with Gorgonzola or something instead of goat cheese. The pies are bar style thin but 14 inches so definitely enough for share without feeling heavy. We also got it gluten free and the crust was really good. The steak salad was also good but not like the best salad I've had. I would probably try the Caesar instead.

    Salted Pistachio Latte

I only went here for the coffee, so I can't say anything about their food items. I was excited to try their special because it seemed really cool! It was a Salted Pistachio latte, which I thought was unique. However, the syrup just got congealed at the bottom and not mixed in with the espresso, so drinking the latte I just got chunks of syrup and pistachio through my straw at random (there were actual pistachio chunks in the drink). Hoping I just got a one off unmixed latte and would like to try again! The place had nice staff and a cool ambiance.

Pistachio martini - tasted like melted pistachio ice cream but delicious for an after dinner drink.

Tried this place since I seen another Yelp Elite try it out and it did not disappoint! The Lg Caesar Salad was huge big enough for 4 people to share. The truffle gnocchi was out of this world and I was would definitely ads a protein to this dish. I added the grilled chicken and it was the perfect addition to this dish. We also ordered the West Village pizza and I loved it but I wish the fig jam on top wasn't as heavy. I would definitely ask for this to be on the side or just less than the normal amount. Made this pizza very sweet with the caramelized onions. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Giacarlo's and the food came out super fast. We had two of the 3 food items we ordered before our bar drinks came! Will definitely be back to try some different items!

Great time at the new Giancarlo's last night! We can early around 5pm to be able to enjoy the happy hour specials, which are offered every day including weekends! Certain apps and pizzas are 25% off and drinks are discounted. We sat outside on their super nice outdoor patio! The vibe was lively and upbeat, it was comfortable and well laid out! We started with a few spritz's which were delicious! Apps we had the meatball trio and attempted to get the calamari, but they were all out unfortunately. The meatballs were delicious and you could tell they were homemade. Dinner we decided on the Bufalina sandwich which was the chicken cutlet with hot said lettuce and cucumber. It was delicious!! Also did the Parmesan truffle fries which were perfectly crunchy and not overpowered with truffle. It was just right. The bar pie was the Honeymoon which was pepperoni with hot honey. I will say the pizza and second sound of drinks did take a while to come out. All the good and drinks were very good! Our server was very nice and apologetic for any wait, but I could tell she was very new as she did not know the menu. Overall, I would love to come back soon!

    MVP PIZZA

Our waiter was nice and helpful! The host was also very kind and enthusiastic. When we were pulling up we weren't sure we were in right place. But once you see it, you'll be glad you did. The porch area is so cute! We got the MVP pizza, I love the thin crust the pizza felt light, but filling. We also tried the chicken parm, the extra Parmesan cheese on top was an amazing touch and the extra vodka sauce too!! Drinks wise I got The G's Spot and it was a great addition to the meal. Next time I'm in TPA, I will definitely be coming back!

A new place, plenty of seats and tables inside and outside. Large menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Salads, sandwiches and pizzas. Manager was friendly and service was ok. We started with coffee- too acidic and we couldn't drink it. The arugula salad had too much vinegar so my friend left it. Another friend liked her chicken sandwich snd my pizza had too much sauce and as much as i wanted to love the food, we unfortunately didn't.

    Matcha and coffee
    Danessa D.

Starting off with the positives: the space is so nice and a great addition to the North Howard area. I love the outdoor seating and the different stations that you can get coffee, pizza, and drinks at. I think this will be a great place regardless of the weather in Tampa. I plan on remote working here every once in a while, as well. For the shortcomings: we tried the coffee and matcha. Both were pretty mediocre. My vanilla latte was pretty sour tasting, and the matcha latte was pretty much a light green color with 99% milk and sugar. Our friend also ordered the cream cheese and the consistency was so watery!!! I looked past the texture, but the taste was also not there and that everything bagel was pretty salty. To be fair, I didn't try the pizza yet and that looks like it will be very delicious! But from the drinks and the bagels so far, I am not impressed with the food.

    Arancini
    Remi W.

We ordered through uber eats and had the wings, large Caesar, arancini, Fischer blvd sandwich and spicy rigatoni with chicken cutlet added. Overall, it wasn't atrocious but it also wasn't memorable. I am glad we tried it but I would not recommend or return. I would say overall, everything was fine but sub par. The caesar was fine but sub par. The arancini was also fine but sub par. We ordered the wings extra crispy and they were not crispy at all. The spicy rigatoni was not spicy and the added chicken was not that great. The Fischer Blvd would be the best of the 5 by default.

Overall good restaurant. Nice atmosphere and great patio. Good service and several vegetarian options:)

Came here on a Saturday night with a large party and had a great experience. I ordered the Honey Moon pizza and an Aperol spritz.. both were delicious! The service was friendly and attentive, even with it being busy. They have a really nice setup with both indoor and outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend!

UPDATE ON BAGLES ONLY: The bagels have improved massively! They are still not fully NYC-level yet, but they are close, and for Tampa they are easily the best bagels I have had. My only real suggestion is to expand the bagel flavors and cream cheese selection. If they can match the variety and feel of a true New York bagel shop (see below for photos I took at a typical NYC bagel shop recently), this place would probably be the best bagel shop in the entire state of Florida.

We came during a Michael Jackson themed night so the music was already amazing. Vibes here were absolutely unmatched, everyone was dancing having a good time. Bit of a wait to get inside but all in all it was totally worth the wait (about 35 minutes) the host at the door was extremely kind and friendly, the server who was attending us at our table was also very kind and attentive. The drinks were definitely the highlight of the night, I got the "What's Your Fantasy" and my Girlfriend got the "Like a Virgin" and we both loved the drinks, we also had some lemon drop shots to accompany our drinks.

It's got that all-around fun, energetic atmosphere that makes it a solid choice for drinks. Not sure how it is during the week, but it would make for a fun date night spot to grab some cocktails. That said, I had a real hang-up the last time I went with my girlfriend around Christmas. They tried to hit us with a $10 cover just to get in, on top of $15-20 cocktails. I don't mind paying for a nice spot, but the cover felt absurd, especially since it wasn't even busy. The bouncer said we could make a reservation to avoid it, so I did...and then he made us stand outside forever before letting us in. At that point, we should've just left, but since my friend had never been, we stuck it out to try the themed Christmas cocktails. Once inside, there was a two-drink minimum per person, which is kind of crazy. It feels like they jip you either way...cover or no cover, minimum spend or not. While waiting outside (for no real reason, since it was empty), we chatted with a party of six who came straight from Ash (the sister restaurant upstairs). They'd just spent over $1,000 on their meal and were still getting charged a cover to enter Alter Ego. That's poor business, don't force extra fees to guarantee money when good music, drinks, and vibes should bring people in naturally and make them want to spend. There's plenty of places on Water Street with great (and I'd say better) cocktails where you're not forced into minimums or covers. The Christmas cocktail menu was disappointing too, poor selections and way too sugary. Love the potential here, but the strict policies really turned me off and made me want to go elsewhere next time.

The ambiance was nice. A lot of eclectic paintings on the walls. And loved the outfits of the servers. Very 20's speakeasy. There is a live jazz band that started performing at 7 pm. They were good but at some points it was a bit difficult to speak and listen to those at your table unless you got really close. My meal hit the spot. We started with a charcuterie board for the table. It had a lot of great options like dried apricots, actual honeycomb pieces, and my most favorite cheese, some Brie cheese. The only thing was there was only 4 pieces of bread, one for each of us, which wasn't enough but I guess it made sense not to fill us up too much. For my main meal I had the sweet potato salad which was very tasty and the sweet potato risotto, which a little spicy kick. The only thing I missed was the Brussels sprouts and potatoes but was told that was from the previous chef. But they serve you enough so you definitely will have left overs. Not a big fan of eating in the lounge areas, those are best just for drinks and maybe desserts. But it's definitely a great place to people watch. If you're wondering, the crust is somewhat thinner than most pizzas, but not a thin-crust pizza. The toppings are spread all throughout the pizza to the edge, and then cut it in squares (Tavern style). It was very tasty, with a slightly sweet note. My hubby and I ordered the Cobb Salad (without bacon) which was delicious. I really liked the onions on it. It was very fresh and they served a generous portion.
