Best beer I've had in a while. The grilled cheese was super simple but it tasted like homemade.

Most delicious fish and chips I've eaten in ages (Pacific Inn will always rein supreme). Even though these fish-and-chips are gluten free they are unbelievably crispy and succulent with a nice slab of fresh cod in each piece. Fries are also excellent, and coleslaw is a rarity in that it is light and herbal with minimal mayo. Ghostfish has absolutely nailed it, 10/10! read more

I have celiac and I have enjoyed their beers up in Alaska where I live. I was so excited to go to this place and was not disappointed in the least in my experience. I was able to eat with reckless abandon. I haven't had onion rings in 14 years since my diagnosis. They were amazing! Their fries were crispy and delicious. Great menu options for HH food or a meal. Love their porter this time of year. The waitstaff are always friendly and overly helpful. That's not common in all joints in Seattle. Really great spot for the GF crowd, and for even for those who aren't GF! We tried their fish and chips, and their burger -- both were excellent! The fish and chips were a generous portion, with a perfect batter:fish ratio, and the batter was light and crispy, while the fish was juicy and tender. Delicious! The burger was also terrific, and didn't suffer from "fall-apart-itis" that is common in the GF bun world. So happy we made it out to this amazing brewery and restaurant. I really miss good beer since being diagnosed gluten intolerant! Being able to order anything and everything here has been a huge treat for me. 100% dedicated Gluten Free! We ordered flights so we could sample many different brews. Loved some because I like pale/blonde ales: Shrouded Summit, Meteor Shower, Kick Step, and Covfefe(LOL). Didn't really like others mostly because I don't like sour beers, but they are quality brews just as well. A bigger treat was the amazing food I haven't been able to enjoy in ages. The best was the battered fish!! We also had flatbread and fish tacos. I just can't say enough about the yumminess of everything. So delicious!! Our waiter was super friendly and efficient. With friends visiting from out of town, one of whom is celiac, I was looking for places where we could go out and be normal. This place was amazing. The atmosphere was nice, like any other pub in town. The selection of fully gluten-free beverages was great - 12 beers. We ordered food as well, and they didn't let us down. In addition, they serve gluten-free foods and also allow modifications to be made to an order if you would like to hold certain foods (e.g. dairy). So, overall, a great place for those who have dietary restrictions. We've been here twice and would visit more often if they were further north. read more

I know this is a beer place but lets talk about the fish. The fish tacos are AMAZING. Big pieces of fantastically battered fish topped with cabbage, remoulade, and hoisin. I don't know what madman thought to put remoulade and hoisin in the same dish, but it works. As for the beer, they brew a really amazing selection of beer including some fun experiments. If you drink GF beer this will be the best beer ever. If you give Ghostfish to a normal beer drinking friend they'll likely enjoy it...or at least not hate you for making them drink it. read more

Ghostfish Brewing won several Great American Beer Festival medals. Granted, they were all in the what must surely be a newly created category of "gluten free beer". Not really my thing but when I called to see if the Raiders game was being shown on their TVs, the gentleman that answered said he wished it was because he's a Raiders fan too. That's enough to earn my business. Gluten and beer go together like love and marriage. You can't have one without the other. Normally, "if it's gluten free, it's not for me". Or at least I thought until I tried a few of their innovative beers. Their samplers are 7oz pours for $2.50-3.50 which is basically a half pint. Not too shabby. Full pints were $5-7. Pretty decent pricing considering they could probably charge whatever the hell they wanted to and gluten free bandwagoners, as well as people with actual Celiac's disease would pony up for it. Where else are you gonna go? Their Watchstander stout was my favorite of the bunch. The roasted millet made beer didn't taste much different than ones normally made with roasted barley. The Purplepeopel Eater surprised me with its complexity. A purple maize ale isn't something I would normally go for but it kinda works. The Vanishing Point Pale was pretty solid but had an odd taste present. It was pretty good to the point you *almost* wouldn't know there's something amiss about it. The Grapefruit IPA was a disappointment but that's only because I'm comparing it to the greatness that is Sculpin. Hops don't contain gluten so why not go buckwild on this one? They had one Vegan option on their gluten-free pizza menu, but we didn't partake as it was a bit pricey at $19. Still much appreciated though. I was pleasantly surprised by what they were able to do without gluten. Gluten-free beer has come further along than their pastry counterparts in a much shorter time period since the whole GF craze kicked off years ago. read more

Ok, so here's the scoop. I was forced to go gluten-free several months ago, and much to my chagrin, I had to give up beer (boy does that suck). I was left with crappy options from the major breweries, such as Redbrook, which was pretty much horrible, but I would have if I was desperate. Enter Ghostfish Brewiing Company.... One of my friends messaged me on Thursday (2 day ago), and it got me excited. Follow that up with total fantasizing about beer all day Friday (yesterday), ends up with me and wife at Ghostfish on Friday night. I immediately got a flight of beers (had 4 beers in it)--it was like the angels starting singing with bright golden lights and harps!! BEER! Thank God! Each beer I had was SUPER delicious, and most importantly, tasted like REAL BEER! My wife concurred. We will even be bringing other friends and family here because we would only be subjecting them to an awesome experience. Bonus points for having gluten-free pizza from SODO pizza (which although frozen, was very tasty). Bonus points: the customer service was excellent, with staff being very friendly and knowledgeable. There was a huge, cute dog that would bark every time someone new would arrive but would then trot over to get some pets. The taproom space was really cool; the decor, lighting, and even the bathrooms were spot on. I liked how you can see into the brewery portion from the taproom. Prices? Pints were $5, which is very much comparable to many other bars that serve craft brews. Short story? I will be back, oh so soon! read more

As someone with celiac disease I was so excited that Ghostfish finally opened last Thursday! My husband (who's not gluten free) and I went yesterday and loved it! The space is nice and looks like it would hold a lot of people. Being greeted by the resident dog was nice also :) The beers were great, I had a flight of the Red, Brown, Pale, and Stout and loved them all. The pale and the stout were my favorites. I have never seen a gluten free stout before and the guys at the bar said they weren't aware of another one either. My husband liked the pale and the stout the best too, and he is not gluten free and picky with stouts. He also had the one non-gluten free beer they had (they said they'd always offer one from another local brewery, I believe). They also had cider and wine to choose from as well. They also have gluten free pizzas! There were quite a few to choose from and the one we had (the Mt. Olympus) was delicious. Great service, great beer, I'm definitely going back. read more

Ghostfish is a new and experimental kind of brewery. Their beer is used with different kinds of grains like millet , buckwheat and brown rice. When I went here they had a lot of their beer selection tapped out so they didn't have a lot of variety. I got a golden ale with millet which was very interesting, experimental to say the least. The staff was hit and miss on friendliness. One bartender seemed annoyed and another one seemed cheerful. Despite not having much on tap from the looks of the brewery it looked like their beer was being prepared to be distributed all over the metro area and indeed in a few days I saw some of their beer on a shelf at the grocery store. read more

In case you didn't know, they are a 100% gluten-free brewery. My fiancé suffers from celiac' disease and has been unable to enjoy beer for well over a decade. I should say decent tasting GF beer. As a big beer consumer and enthusiast, I give Ghostfish two thumbs up for what they are doing in the GF arena. Their beer tastes delicious. Heck, it beats a lot of regular beer selections out there! With Ghostfish on the scene, beer drinkers, GF or not, should no longer fear this type of product. It's sometimes hard to find pet-friendly locations as well, which is another ace for Ghostfish. Their taproom is dog friendly, and our little pup loved all the action going on. Something to note: let's talk about the granola they sell. It's made from the spent grain used during brewing. Why are more places not doing stuff like this?!?! Good for you Ghostfish! And again, it is freaking delicious! A recommendation: The Watchstander Stout and Summer Blonde are fantastic. I thought I've written a review for this place a long time ago but I guess not. We've come here so many times because my wife can't have any gluten and she enjoys beer so win win situation for her. The service here is usually really good, but they can get very busy. My favorite time to go is during the week when they have happy hour at opening (3pm). The fish and chips are a great deal and it's always my fav meal to eat . The tacos are great (happy hour menu ) and the jalapeños are soooo good but sooo damn hot , seriously ! I am a 76 year old, great granny to almost 9 now and a beer drinker! At age 71 I was diagnosed as having "silent celiac disease". At an evening meal at the Whistlestop in Renton, WA I met your Ghostfish Grapefruit IPA. My life as a GF beer drinker changed forever! Not only is this gluten free, this is truly the best beer I have ever tasted. I mentioned this at our Silverdale Costco and Fred Meyer as neither was noted as being gluten free (it says so on the cans). But then it occured to me that anyone should buy this beer. Anyone!! A few days later Costco came to my rescue and I bought a case. Now to make a trip to Seattle and partake of the food, especially the fish and chips. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time this weekend. We Saw a Facebook event about ghostfish celebrating their 2nd anniversary and decided to check it out! We were not disappointed. I loved how there were a variety of beers - not just IPAs for instance - there were fair amount of stouts, brown ales and there was even a gruit (never heard that one before in my life). Lots of interesting choices! Also a fan of the industrial aesthetic. It's clean, well lit and even if the space is small it feels open.workers were really friendly and I love how they allow dogs in their too. Only complaint was that perhaps for the anniversary the food they had available was really overpriced. I should not be paying 20 dollars for 2 hotdogs (dry too sadly). Im sure there regular menu is spot on but that hotdog killed me. Otherwise, I'll Definitely come here again sometime read more

The Kick Start IPA is very good and well balanced - you would not suspect it is GF. Fish and Chips and the Herb Chicken sandwich are both excellent and again hard to tell you are having a GF meal. Great brewery in the SODO hood, not far from the light rail stop and next door to Silver Platters! I Love the logo and shiny black and silver decor, garage style large windows and air conditioning on those hot days! The gluten free craft beers are very tasty, Vanishing Point Pale was my go to for my summer choice and Evolution Stout, one of seasonals was a notable favorite. My hubby is all about grapefruit ipa here. They focus and brew Gluten free beer but also have ciders, wine and a guest tap, so something for everyone. The gluten free pizzas (from SODO) are pretty tasty though you pay a lil more for the gluten free just like you would any pizza place. I really love the atmosphere, friendly with a resident dog laying near the bar and it seems to have a festive and ever changing crowd, I've been here for live music, trivia nights. Concert goers nearby make a fun people watch, all gOod times. You can purchase cans or growlers to go! Note: in SODO and a brewery so they tend to close earlier than most reg bars. Did not realize this was a gluten free establishment until we sat down. The beer was okay. We had a taster flight and the prices were very reasonable. Food selection was decent. Went with the pork belly which was elegantly prepared. The flavors came together well, the parsnip purée was fantastic. At $8, it was a perfect sampler for two. Seemed like the staff worked well together. The owners were on hand and helped out with the rush. I seriously love the beer and food here, and I love that it's gluten free. It would be easy to rate this place a 5, but there are some major issues that knock off stars: - The service is hit and miss, and unfortunately when it's a miss it is a very big miss. I mean - a really big miss. Some of the female servers are good. - Today the restaurant smelled like dirty bar mats and there were gnats everywhere. We were all swatting them off our food during the whole meal. I've worked in the food industry for a couple of decades so I know that this is a cleanliness issue. That, coupled with the smell of dirty mats was fairly nauseating. I was told that the gnats were from the open doors, but again I know that's a from poor cleanliness standards. - I wish that they would get blinds for the area that gets sunny. It's fairly unprofessional to have an establishment where people have to move seats or tables themselves to avoid the heat and the sun. Not to mention I can't even imagine what it feels like to be a server in that hot environment. Please fix these issues because I would honestly come here regularly if they were resolved. I went to the grand opening of this bar and it was a lot larger than I expected. It was a short drive for me since I live in West Seattle. The location is in SoDo on the left-hand side of Aston Manor. The decor inside is simple yet chic. When you walk in there are tables where you can sit and drink. To your left is the bar. The wall is lined up with several glasses with their logos facing at you. Additional seating is located near the large glass windows as well. The wooden panel is lined with a large chalkboard menu that displays most of their beer selection. What makes this place different is that they have mostly gluten free beers. The decor has a lot of window light and they also have a small dance floor or space where bands could play. I gave it four stars because there isn't enough seating. There should be more tables and chairs. But I liked how they opened the back of the building up as a beer garden. The grand opening was pretty successful!
