    Gobbler bowl
    Craig G.

My only regret about Ghost Truck Kitchen is that it took me so long to stop by. One of the first takeout/delivery only restaurants in Jersey City (opening before the pandemic), GTK offers up a diverse menu of tasty eats (salads, wings, bbq meats, bowls) and you won't likely go wrong no matter the pick. I snagged a Gobbler bowl on a blustery Friday night, with the order ready in about 15 minutes. That hearty bowl had thick slices of impossibly tender white meat turkey (well spiced and just a bit smoky), cranberry sauce with juicy berries, creamy mashed potatoes, and two slices of savoury stuffing, topped with a rich gravy.

Not great, not awful. Seemed a little overpriced and I wasn't thrilled with everything I ordered. Portions were strange ($9 broccoli for like half a cup, but TONS of noodles for $15). The bacon bits on the baked potato were gross. Noodles were bland and oily. Broccoli was oily too, so I had to throw it in the air fryer to make it edible. We even paid for the direct delivery via Uber eats so it wasn't due to extended delivery time. Won't be ordering from here again.

I was initially impressed by the menu variety and consistent positive reviews. All this to say, this place didn't disappoint. The jerk wings had the perfect amount of spice. Would order this again. I think the cauliflower hash browns paired with the chipotle aioli dip were good, but a tad too greasy. I think less oil and a little more crunch would bring this to another level. I also got the Bahn YU with glazed tofu. It's super yummy with the pickled veggies and mayo. Unfortunately the GTK hot noodles were too spicy to finish. It was difficult to taste the ingredients. The pulled pork burrito was very flavorful and filling. It came with dipping sauce, but the burrito didn't need it. My partner ordered the GTK coconut curry. I ate some as well. We really enjoyed it. I loved the variety of flavors in the island bowl with jerk tofu. The tofu and vegetables were well seasoned and the turmeric coconut rice provided a refreshing balance to the overall meal. I would also recommend the GTK crumb cake. Not as moist as the carrot cake, but still good. The carrot cake was so moist and delicious I had to pause to truly savor what I was eating. I'm still daydreaming about this moment. The gobbler bowl has been our favorite item on the menu lately. The turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, and cranberry chutney with gravy combo can't be beat. If you've made it this far, I'm probably ordering from this place now. I am officially a Ghost Truck Kitchen convert and I highly recommend.

Ordered delivery from here the other day and wow! Delivery arrived on time pretty much. Everything was well packaged and labeled. These guys are awesome! I ordered the jerk wings, sticky bbq wings, and mushrooms. Everything was delicious. Arrived warm. Chicken had the perfect char on it. Bbq sauce was more like a Thai sauce. The jerk sauce is not spicy. The mushrooms were yummy and soft. Herb butter was great. A little expensive but it's organic wings. I'd order from them again, trying other menu items.

    Buffalo Wings

This place is normally the best! However, I was really disappointed with my last order. We had three orders of wings and a cup of soup. I will start by saying the soup was fantastic. The wings however were a disappointment this time. We have ordered the wings dozens of times from this place, and they were fantastic. They really dropped the ball this time. The wings were almost completely sauceless. Usually they have the perfect amount. Really disappointed to get three boxes of unflavored wings. Felt like a waste of almost $60! Bring back the quality we have seen in the past. Update 1-23-2022: I we have the wings another shot last night and they still weren't as great as they have been in the past. I don't not wish to harm the reputation of a small business, because this place is normally so great. I have updated my star rating slightly higher due to my past experiences. However, I would like you to take my feedback as constructive criticism not as a dig against this place. I have recommended this place to many people in the past. As a reply to the owner, we did try to find a way to reach out directly about our order, but can't seem to find a way to contact about the specific order through the website. That is why we went to Yelp in the first place. We just want this place to be as good as we know it has been in the past ! Hoping my next order is great

Ordered delivery from here randomly with a friend and it was slamming. We both loved the order. It was so good, I ordered the exact same thing again today (trash can and carrot cake). Trash can ice cream taste like high quality ingredients and delicious/unique, pairs surprisingly well with the carrot cake. Carrot cake's whipped cream and toppings are delicious and make the cake taste amazing.

    Buffalo Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Overall: So excited that we have one of these in JC - it's the perfect place to order from when everyone is craving something different. They usually have businesses ranging from salads and vegan sandwiches to bbq and desserts. Normally the food is good, nothing to write home about, but something reliable. If I could give half stars, this would be 3.5. Location: Right in the middle of downtown - it's very easy to access. There is no seating at all, so expect to take your food home or find someplace else to eat. The ordering interface is exactly the same as ordering online...so order online. Service: The staff is very sweet, but if you walk-in to order, expect to wait 15 min. I recommend ordering for pick-up online (normally an hour wait). Food: While the food is always changing, here is what we ordered most recently: Teriyaki fried rice bowl - Fully loaded with protein (chicken or tofu) and a fried egg. I was worried at first about the price ($16), but you got a huge bowl. I really like the flavoring, but my husband wished it had more heat (or the option to add more). GTK dumplings - They have the option of veggie edamame dumplings, but we opted for the chicken teriyaki dumplings. For $8, it comes with 6 dumplings. Nothing unexpected, but good. Buffalo grilled chicken - When I saw this was served on a pretzel roll, I got excited. It was good, but was it worth $13 without fries or a side....not really. Carrot cake - Carrot cake was one super thick piece. Think of it as carrot bread with caramel and whipped cream on top. The toppings were super sweet. I love sweets and still thought it was too much.

Wanted to try this place out and finally caved in since I have been craving good wings and I am happy to have found my GO TO WING Spot, perfectly cooked- has a nice smoky flavor, good amount of sauce. I only ordered wings so I gave them 4/5- will update my review when I try out a few more items. Would highly recommend you try the wings. I ordered the classic Buffalo wings , gave me the option to choose from ranch or bleu cheese for dipping. Can't want to try out more items!

PROS 1. Jerk Chicken Wings (10) was Good but needs more Hot Peppers. *Buffalo Wings got NOTHING on Jerk Chicken! Fresh Seasonings is Always Better. Sorry Buffalo Wings Lovers...* Ha 2. Mac and Cheese was Super Flavorful. Best in Jersey City so far. Hands Down! 3. Cornbread was Good and Not Crumbly. 4. Gravy was Good. I can't wait to Smother it over some Garlic Chicken Wings! 5. Friendly Staff, especially Nane and Chris. 6. Reasonable Prices. 7. Best Carrot Cake in Jersey City by far. Thick Slice with No Nuts! Perfectly Moist and Sweet! 8. Brooke (Brownie and Cookie) was good .

The creamy Calabrian pepper tomato sauce delivers a legitimate, vibrant heat that doesn't hold back. Breaking into the Italian burrata is essential; the creamy center beautifully tempers the spice, while the micro basil adds a nice hit of freshness. We also started with the truffle fries, which were executed perfectly--crispy, aromatic, and a total highlight. The Service: While the food was top-tier, the service wasn't great which is why I deducted 2 whole stars. I ordered a ginger ale that never made it to the table, yet it still appeared on our final bill - not cool. It's a small detail, but at this level of dining and price point, you expect those things to be caught. Also, the service overall was pretty slow which was disappointing. Verdict: Even with the minor billing oversight, the culinary execution is elite. If you're a fan of bold, spicy pasta and a great atmosphere, this is still a JC must-visit.
