    Devil's Cake

We stopped by BRBQ for a late dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't too crowded and the service was prompt. We tried the Korean fried chicken wings and Seafood scallion pancake for appetizers. The wings were crispy and fresh. The seafood scallion pancake had a good amount of seafood and was well flavored. For the entree we had the Spicy Pork Bulgogi. It was served alongside several traditional Korean BBQ sides. We also ordered the Kimchi fried rice. It was lot of food for two people but the food was really good. For dessert, we tried the devil's cake - if you are a chocolate lover do not miss this one! It's a decadent chocolate cake for sure. All in all it was good dining experience

The galbitang is amazing! Hot and fresh. Service is nice with great calm atmosphere. Good vibes all around. Highly recommend. Very convenient to Journal Square PATH.

Finally got the opportunity to visit them. Been wanting too since we heard they are opening in the neighborhood. Made a lunch reservations on a cold windy day before Valentine's Day. Looking forward to the food and experience. Picked lunched items. Chicken wings, kimhi rice and others. Overall, food was ok but great service and atmosphere. Not sure if it was normal but the dessert was warm outside but cold inside. Still a good experience. I think dinner time would be a better time to go. BRBQ gets a recommendation.

I went out for dinner with friends on a Monday night, and we all had a great experience. I ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbap, while my friends tried the tofu and chicken varieties. Everyone really enjoyed their meals--the vegetables were seasoned perfectly, and you truly can't go wrong with a classic runny egg on top. The highlight was definitely the rice, which was perfectly crispy at the bottom of the bowl. It's a solid, reliable spot for a flavorful dinner, and the quality was consistent across all the different protein options we tried. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a well-executed, satisfying meal.

Food (4/5): Alright so some of the dishes are overpriced with dishes like the bulgogi being over $35 and most other dishes being in that $20-40 range, but the quality is solid. We got the kimchi fried rice, katsu chicken and tteokboki and all were great. My favorite was the katsu chicken which was crispy and had great sauce. Service (5/5): The restaurant seemed a bit understaffed but the people there were great and helpful. They were friendly and the food came out fast. Ambiance (5/5): Beautiful modern interior with nice booths, tables and a bar decor in the middle. There were also Halloween decorations with candies when we came.

5 stars all around for food, service and ambiance. This is NOT a traditional kbbq place where you're seated around a grill. This is more of a fusion place where they grill dishes in the open kitchen and they're served to you. My group of 4 ordered the below and loved everything. Appetizers: grilled leek (anchovy, parsley, pistachio, Calabrian chili vinaigrette), scallion pancake (charred scallion pesto, calamari, shrimp, Parmesan) and house sausage (galbi pork and glass noodles). The flavors of everything were perfectly balanced and unique. Entrees: galbi for two, spicy pork bulgogi and kimchi fried rice. The meat was tender and flavorful. The bulgogi is served with corn tortillas, guacamole, tomato salsa and sour cream which was an interesting twist. Also, the kimchi fried rice was wasn't just your average kimchi fried rice you make at home. I was hesitant to order it but I'm glad we did. I would definitely come back here again to try more rice, noodle and seafood dishes. It's a decency sized space but I can see it getting popular fast so make a reservation while you still can!

Super yummy new Korean spot in JC! Loved the Galbi and the ricotta toast!!! The vibe is great and the service is so good too.

Tried takeout from this new Korean place under Urby (same owners as Domodomo) and located a few minutes walk from Journal Square Path. Staff was nice, though lunch takeout options were limited. Ordered cold noodles, donkatsu, and calamansi salad. Portions were generous--donkatsu came with two large pieces (a bit dry but tasty with the sauce). Cold noodles were crunchy and well-spiced, and the salad stood out with smoky shrimp and bright calamansi flavor. I think the vibe is more for drinks with friends and chill, but would love to come back and try the dinner menu! The galbi and samgyeopsal was on the takeout menu, but only available for dinner.

I stopped in with my family without a reservation and we were able to be seated right away, though the restaurant was definitely a bit busy. Started with what the menu called "Spicy Corn Noodles". When it arrived, the waiter called them "Spicy Cold Noodles", which was disappointing. No corn in sight and when I translated the Korean characters, no corn goes into making these noodles, so it's just a misleading typo. These were fine and the portion size was pretty good, but I wouldn't have ordered them if the menu was correct. Looking up from there, the fries we ordered came out and they were absolutely perfectly crispy and seasoned, 10/10. Our Korean fried chicken wings then came out, also a very nice portion size, crispy and tasty but no flavor reminiscent of Korean wings, they're just good wings. For the main course, our Galbi for 2 came out. My husband mentioned a shellfish allergy and we were told that one sauce on the side included shrimp, no problem. When the platter came out however, there was a nice sized bubbling bowl of soup/stew which the waiter said was clam stew. Highly disappointing that this would be included without being mentioned on the menu or by the waiter, especially after discussing the allergy. As such a large component of the platter rather than just a small banchan, it should have been mentioned. The entire bowl remained untouched and sadly went to waste. The meat itself was very tasty, we all enjoyed it. The dessert sorbet was very good. I was interested in the Devil's Food cake, but as the description said "charcolate", I passed. Is it a charcoal/chocolate mix? Another typo? Didn't want to take the risk. BRBQ: please fix your menu Service was friendly and overall I'd recommend a visit.

I've been wanting to try this place ever since it opened but never got around to it even though it's so close. Now that I've finally been, it's going to be dangerous because I'll want to come here every day. The food was incredibly tasty and flavorful and we didn't leave a single bite behind. The service was phenomenal and everyone was so kind. The ambiance and decor were also beautiful. Very hip and cool. I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu.

We ordered here on seamless one evening and immediately ordered again the next day so we can bring trays over to share with my family. Highly recommend their mixed grill to have a taste of everything. Their grilled short ribs are decadent and delicious. Even their salad (spring mix!) is well dressed and fresh. Service was good and very friendly when I went to pick up my pickup order. PROTIP: call in and order. I think the prices are higher on food ordering platforms. I suppose this is to account for all the arbitrary "service fees" imposed by the platforms (at no fault to the restaurant).

We had the rice and the chicken,as well as the small rib and felt that each portion was full of salt. Prices are reasonable. I think if I were to go again, I would definitely go with telling them to relax on the salt please! Other than that food was good.

It was a full afternoon of food and drinks, and the kind of event where a lot of moving pieces have to come together for it to actually work. JP was the reason it worked. What stood out most wasn't the drinks. It was the kids. There were a lot of them, running around, excited, in the middle of everything. JP knew every single one of them by name before the afternoon was half over. Not in a performative way. He just made a point to learn who they were and made them feel like they belonged there as much as anyone else. He was checking in on them, getting them what they needed, keeping them engaged. Parents noticed. Everyone noticed. Beyond the kids, he was everywhere. Anticipating what people needed before they asked. Moving fast without ever seeming rushed. Making sure nobody was waiting, nobody was forgotten, and everybody was having a good time. The food, the drinks, the whole flow of the afternoon, it all ran smoothly because JP was paying attention to all of it. My sister-in-law's celebration was exactly what it was supposed to be. A big part of that is JP. If you are booking an event here, request him specifically. You will not regret it.

Lines at all the big spots (Red Hook Tavern, Brooklyn Crab, and Hometown) were long, but we decided to wait it out and get food here. Lines was not just long but didn't move for a bit. Despite that we were able to get seating. Like many BBQ places, you order at the register and they'll give you whatever is already prepare and then bring over the rest of your order at your table. Best dish by far was the Korean sticky ribs. The pulled pork sandwich wasn't great; not hot at all, just room temperature. The Vietnamese wings had good flavor but the skin is very tight (it's an order of a few whole wings, not drums and flats). Cornbread and dill pickles were great, potato salad was a bit too vinegary for me. They had the US World Cup match on, but not the audio until after they scored a goal. Felt like they forgot to switch the audio. A little disappointing. Overall a good but not mind blowing experience.
