Vintage video games!
Olivia C.

This was a solid sandwich restaurant that lets you build your own sandwich or choose from some of their premade menu options. My friend and I came here post lunchtime in need of a quick Sammy to hold us over until dinner and this did the trick. The inside decor was a lot of fun with vintage posters and 90s memorabilia around and my favorite part was the vintage video games at the tables that you could play while you're waiting for your sandwich to be made. I played super Mario world and it brought me back to my childhood, but I was also irritated because apparently I suck at video games now I posted a video of me playing super Mario party on Instagram and everybody made fun of me because I wasn't good. We ordered a turkey avocado sandwich and I appreciated that the bread roll was soft and didn't tear up the roof of my mouth like French rolls or Dutch crunch often do. I'm so tired of feeling like I'm eating knives that slice me up. The darling woman making our sandwich was kind and she complimented my singing. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I was singing along to the 90s throwback music that they were playing.. She made the sandwich and she liked my singing and that made me feel good about myself, which I really needed since I'm apparently bad at video games now. Overall, this seems like a decent option for lunch during the week. The sandwich came out quickly. There's entertainment to keep you occupied while you wait and lots of customizable options to ensure you get the sandwich your heart desires.

Fantastic sub shop! The menu has everything you could ever want, probably more than you can even take in, so study up in advance. Subs are priced on the higher end, but you get what you pay for. Nice fresh bread, beautiful cuts of meat, and the perfect layer of condiments. They were sadly out of the Muffaletta bread, but it was fantastic either way. I topped it off with a peanut butter milkshake that was blended to perfection. The service was wonderful. And I really enjoyed the decor, movies playing, and vintage games to play. Wish I had known about this spot sooner!

Breaded Chicken Sandwich
Emily G.

I ordered the breaded chicken sub via catering at work, so it seemed the catering options available were more simple than the typical menu options. My colleagues and I all agreed we weren't a fan, but again we may be biased off the catering offerings. The breaded chicken sub I ordered was cold; for a breaded chicken sandwich it was meh cold; when I heated it in the microwave it was better though. The Italian bread we chose for our sandwiches didn't taste good quality; very much cafeteria subway bread and much more bread than meat. My colleagues' sandwiches had very little meat in it!

Ok let me first start off by saying the place inside looks cool AF! The artwork, the space, the video games you can play and all the extra stuff you can buy like POPS and signs. So cool! The owners mom was present and she's a lovely lady who def knows how to cook. I ordered something small and my friend ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich and it was 10/10 for both. The seasoning added to the macaroni salad along with the tuna was delicious. Then the sandwich ....oh man the chicken cutlet was cooked perfectly . Did I mention it's also BYOB! So, while you play video games and eat a sandwich you can have a nice cup of booze of your choice. Can't ask for a better combination . HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!

The Muffaletta Man. The bread is extremely hard to chew.

Just ordered via UberEats. Ordered the Muffuletta, 1 Ring to Rule them All app sampler, and a Diet Pepsi. The best part of my order was the Diet Pepsi. 1 Ring to Rule Them All - awful. Really really bad. The mozzarella sticks are the texture of cornbread. I think air frying is a terrible idea for these items. Chicken tenders were burnt and nasty. Fries were soft. Onion rings (there were two actually....) were burnt. Fried ravioli is nasty. I threw the whole thing away. Muffuletta Man - this bread is so damn hard to chew. My jaw actually started clicking. The flavors are good but I can barely chew the bread! I did like that they called to confirm the order. That's about it.

Everything about this place is so much fun & amazing. From the interior of the store, to the menu items names & food itself! I've ordered once before & gotten takeout. Both times food has been fantastic. This time I got an Extra Sloppy Joe and boy oh boy...what a sandwich! It has such a unique taste with the sauce & what I'm assuming are pickles (?) that gave it a bit of a tangy flavor. The beef itself was great and the bread (brioche) was amazing. Definitely a must try if you love sandwiches! Can't wait to try more of their stuff

Such a fun vibe and incredible menu. I love all of the menu options and their names. Definitely need to return to try more of the menu.

6 Stars and DONE! LOL Well well well. NJ is truly the place where a sandwich turns into a SANGWICH ( a sandwich so good that it belongs in the sandwich hall of fame) Unfortunately I have been limited to ordering via delivery apps, so there are certain items I cannot try ( I am not even going to try to order one of their huge, extravagant milkshakes until I dine in (which will be soon!) The website will show what a cool, movie, TV, and video game inspired place this is in both food, drink and decor. Even the names of all the food & drink items are named after these mediums. A family run business where mom still makes the red sauce ( I'll forgive that they call it gravy here LOL) that goes on the parm & pasta items. Yet colorful, funky, and modern to appeal to all generations. They must have a great bread supplier, because all types we tried were top notch. However, they have some very creative sandwiches where a giant pickle is used instead of bread like the Pickle Rick & Mortadella : Mortadella, coleslaw and Provolone served on a giant pickle. THE FOOD Every item listed below was tried and certified as YUM to the MAX, The Taylor Swift : Taylor Ham & Egg Sandwich ( I had on brioche) where it was huge, with the fluffiest eggs and great quality sausage chunks A Wasted Italian : Ham, salami, capicola, pepperoni, soppressata, prosiutto and Provolone topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, oil and vinegar served on Italian bread. ( named after Goodfellas, if you can't make a cold cut in NJ you need to get a new job....this is very good) Optimus Prime Rib : Prime rib topped with horseradish mayo and au jus. Served on garlic bread ( this was amazing, i just wished they trimmed a bit of fat off) Porkemon Sub : Pulled pork and sharp Provolone with broccoli rabe or spinach. Served on garlic bread. ( Philadelphia may be known for cheesesteaks, but this sangwich is lost as famous..great job!) What I really thing is AWESOME is that most of the fried items are air-fried! Great decision! I would love to list all the cool named items on the menu but this would be the longest review ever. Check out the website. Very cool video. Amazing menu. great pictures of the shop. Can't wait to go. Best of luck & success to the Roda family!

I have ordered lunch for my dock guys a couple of times here now. Sandwiches are a little pricey but worth it. They are large portions and still piping hot when delivered.

I immediately after my first bite, had to sayyyy WOOOOOW Subculture is full of culture!!!! Like dangggg!!!! The Bat Of Hell sandwich!!!!! It's basically an amazing meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes!!!! The shop is amazing!!!! I love the look of it and just walking in I felt like family!!!! Service was on point good!!!!! Newly addicted to everything about this place.

Food is 8/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere/Vibe/Decor 10/10 I really love this place! I want to tell everyone about it because it's just so awesome. The concept really drew me in. It takes someone very creative to come up with something as well as this... But it takes a true bad ass and a really awesome staff to be able to execute. I won't lie, I was really nervous that the food wouldn't live up to the theme and awesomeness of this place but it did. Would have really sucked if the food wasn't good and the place was as cool as it is. Luckily they checked off all the boxes. I posted a bunch of pictures on here and I think that they speak volumes to how cool the spot is. They also have a giant screen playing classic movies that we all love and adore... Oh, and you get to play video games on smaller screens at the high top tables! It's a home run.

This is a niche, even unassuming, option on the menu, but the ingredients alone are intriguing and suit my taste perfectly. The pizza was baked to order and eaten fresh; the heat and smoky aroma were satisfying. The crust was thin, yet still achieved a perfect balance of crispy crust and soft, chewy interior. A thin layer of cheese provided just the right amount of creaminess; the Brussels sprouts offered a subtle yet rich flavor, while the salty umami of the marinated anchovies occasionally shined and, accompanied by a very subtle hint of brinyness - seafood lovers will appreciate it. A squeeze of lemon juice brought a refreshing twist to the pizza, making it a perfect accompaniment to seafood. However, a touch of lemon was recommended; otherwise, the acidity will overwhelm all the layers of flavor.

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

I did, however, find parking on the side street and was even a pleasant little walking distance away. Since we were just a party of two, we did not need to reserve a table , but, if you do have a large party of people, you should definitely call and reserve! The restaurant isn't that big at all, so, there might be a little wait time, if you're there at a busy time. We were there on a Saturday night( two people) and waited for about ,not even 10 minutes. However, it's definitely worth the wait! It's a family friendly atmosphere and the service was very good! Very friendly staff and pretty fast service. I loved how it's all bricked wall and just so cozy! I have heard that their Chicken Parm was absolutely amazing and delicious. (Especially, when you're hungry and have been waiting to try this Chicken Parm I've been hearing about. lol!). Since the portion of the Chicken is pretty big, the side dish of the spaghetti, is just PERFECT! It's sauce and cheese is just mouth watering and a must have!! Now,Let's talk about their House Salad!
