Bolognese with penne and shrimp Garlic Knots

This was the first Italian spot I've tried since moving to JC and it was delicious ! The food came nice and hot even tho the delivery was considered a little late. 10/10 would recommend

I didn't order a cardboard topping!

I've been ordering take out from these guys for almost two years now. Ever since Renatos cut their portion sizes in half and doubled their prices actually. I've never had a problem and the food has been great. Deliveries are always within a reasonable amount of time and always sooner than promised. Tonight my Sicilian pie arrived w most of the cheese stuck to the top of the box. I called to let them know and express my disappointment but before I was able to finish my sentence he said he would send me a new pie. I was dumbfounded. I was dumbfounded because it's been many years since I've encountered fair business practice in retail anywhere, in fact, I don't remember the last time a merchant ever went above and beyond for me. We now live in a country where the bartender is doing you a favor for making eye contact with you--you're not getting your drink for another 9 minutes 'but at least he saw me.' Why am I on a first name basis with my roofer? Well because his work must suck, right? And every time I call him because I have another roof leak which has ruined another wall and section of ceiling its another $4,000 -- does he stand behind his work? Obviously not. (Elite Roofing, Bayonne). Have a $5000 air conditioner repair on a unit that's about 3 -4 years old? Too bad -- (Rheem). Not these guys--they get--they value their customers and don't want to lose them. Support this business so we don't lose them.

Second time getting it. The sauce to cheese ratio is off. The cheese is thick, barely any sauce. The penne was good, seasoned well. They gave us bread with the pasta, which was nice.

*Quarantine Delivery Review* I think Lievito might be the same as Romano Pizza in Weehawken. I was searching for a pizza spot that also had sandwiches, and I noticed they had the same exact menu. Everything sounded really good so we ended up ordering way too much food for two people. But we figured we could have a few meals of leftover, and support a local business at the same time (or at least that's what I tell myself because I think I really just wanted to pig out). Here is what we ordered: Meatball Parm Sub - meatballs are solid Chicken Parm Sub - some parts of the chicken were a bit too thin, which ended up making it a little dry but overall, it wasn't bad Lievito's Special Pizza (meatball, sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers) - basically a supreme pizza. They don't skimp on the toppings. It's not my favorite crust, but the pizza itself was pretty good Lievito Appetizer Sampler (chicken wings, chicken fingers, french fries, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, fried ravioli) - nothing special but it's good if you just want to eat a bunch of fried stuff that's bad for you. It was a bit cold but it tasted a lot better the next day after we popped it into the toaster oven I really had to stop myself from adding a philly cheesesteak on top of this order, so I think I'll try that out next time, along with some of their specialty pies. Hopefully we will get to go in person and sit down, sometime soon.

Delicious Penne vodka with Grilled Chicken

Fantastic pasta!! The vodka sauce is delicious and the Alfredo was actually very tasty. All chicken was perfectly cooked. We will definitely be ordering from here again soon!! Thank you!

Colorful and Clean food presentation.

PROS 1. Garlic Knot Meatball Parm Sandwich was Super Flavorful and Genius! 2. Grandma Sicilian Pizza was good. 3. Freshly Savory Marinara Sauce. 4. Interior is nice 5. Friendly Staff. CONS 1. The Grandma Sicilian Pizza needs just a bit more sauce.

Small Traditional Cheese Pizza Antipasto Salad

The first time I went here there was mix up and the management team got back to me within a day which show they really care. On the 2nd try the food was good the pizza is nice and light so you can eat it and still be able to go out which is nice. Also would recommend getting the garlic knots.

This is a niche, even unassuming, option on the menu, but the ingredients alone are intriguing and suit my taste perfectly. The pizza was baked to order and eaten fresh; the heat and smoky aroma were satisfying. The crust was thin, yet still achieved a perfect balance of crispy crust and soft, chewy interior. A thin layer of cheese provided just the right amount of creaminess; the Brussels sprouts offered a subtle yet rich flavor, while the salty umami of the marinated anchovies occasionally shined and, accompanied by a very subtle hint of brinyness - seafood lovers will appreciate it. A squeeze of lemon juice brought a refreshing twist to the pizza, making it a perfect accompaniment to seafood. However, a touch of lemon was recommended; otherwise, the acidity will overwhelm all the layers of flavor.

Around the corner and there is more seating there. I made a reservation and they honored it even though we were about 45 mins late, (oops!) but I completely appreciate them getting us in. We ordered kale salad, and garbanzo beans to start and meatballs then a margherita pizza.... everything was delicious and fresh. The quality was def there! My only complaint is the tight spaces , you're all up in each others spaces but it's not all bad. Also we ordered our kids Shirley temples and they charged us for "mocktails" meaning they were $7 each! For some sprite and a few cherrie?! Excessive! You've been warned lol. Try this place when you're in JC!

If you knew me, I always considered pizza as a separate food group aka the sixth main food group! Established in 1982, this small family-owned cash-only restaurant has been a beloved neighborhood staple known for its authentic Italian pizza along with other Italian dishes and a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere. With a glut of pizza joints, how would this pizzeria from Larry and Joe compare to others I've tried in the neighborhood!? PURCHASE [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 3.5 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($5.00): A large container filled with oddly similarly-sized rings, these were hot, medium-browned, semi-crunchy, and didn't have a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. They were slightly oily, no dipping sauce given, and surprisingly good. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=Fo3zPbAgICQdKvznZJsvGA Mozzarella Sticks 6pc ($7.00): Simple finger-sized medium-browned cheese sticks with homemade marinara dipping sauce, we enjoyed them but nothing special to report. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=XdrF2nAAywvu13PpkK4mIQ Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich ($10.00): If you knew me, this was my go-to Italian sandwich, and it didn't disappoint. Filled with plenty of thin but meaty slices of breaded eggplant, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese crammed between a lightly-toasted bun, this was a hearty meal that stuck to your ribs - oof! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=8R68F6zBwAxy4vcpvi8wzw Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich ($10.00): My friend opted for this lightly-toasted bun stuffed with many thin but meaty slices of breaded chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese, it was good but not better than the eggplant! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=p7slICln5ZVWgsqatlY8WQ 18" 8pc Broccoli Pizza + Mushrooms ($19.00 + $3.00): Still in the throes of no-meat during Lent, we chose this interesting option with an additional topping for more flavor. This was simply an impressive pie, indeed! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=-5ich-E3lcSWgrzXYPVisA SERVICE I called ahead and placed my order with a friendly gentleman whose name I couldn't recall. I was told it would be ready within 45 minutes which was fine. I arrived a bit early to a very busy pizzeria, to which I waited an extra 15 minutes before my order was done and packed up. No worries, as I watched TV and simply observed the "mayhem" in this place. I wasn't in a hurry, so all was good - grazie! PARKING (Street; N/A this instance) This was an easy flat 20-minute walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots (no known private lot) along the main drag of Newark Ave. and all surrounding roads - 'nuff said. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front window and door while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There was one TV (volume on) while there wasn't any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=4WAmbzYptvChB1edodHcSQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Larry & Joe's Pizzeria was an incredible example of a close-knit family eatery that was lovingly supported by the neighborhood and vice versa, which gave me the warm-and-fuzzies. From tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices, good menu selection, and wonderful service, this place hit all of the feels. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $54.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Sadly, they were CASH ONLY (my only knock), so no AMEX! 4.0 STARS

The eggplant was very good, but the sauce and the sauce for the garlic knots to dip, were a bit too sweet for me. The eggplant came with a huge portion of spaghetti. Now I don't know if the sauce in this pasta was the same as the eggplant, but I enjoyed this side pasta very much. This was a very nice meal and I would have no hesitation ordering from them again. Short version: I came to New York for the first time and was excited to try Krispy Pizza after seeing all the Instagram hype. The guys online seem personable, and the pizza looks super fresh. The real-life experience was the opposite. I wasn't greeted when I walked in -- just had about 5-6 employees staring at me. All of the pizzas were already sitting out on the counter, and they just warm up whatever you pick in the oven. We ended up getting 5 different flavors to try out. To wrap it up: this was my first-ever "New York slice." It was good, but not great, and definitely didn't live up to the Instagram hype. I would be down to try their Brooklyn location to see if there's any difference -- but the problem is, I'm visiting, and there are dozens of other pizza spots in New York competing for your business.
