Oh. My. Word. What a delicious burger!!!! I ordered the "Jimmy Burger" and my husband ordered the "classic bacon burger". You gotta love a place that is specific about what kind of mayo (Dukes) that they use on their burgers. Both burgers were cooked, absolutely perfectly and seasoned deliciously. And oh my goodness, the bacon! The fries were done just right and so was my fried okra. We had our four-legged fur baby with us so we did not go inside so I can't talk about ambience inside, but it was nice sitting out on the front porch although the seating needs to be upgraded just a smidge. Service was fast and super friendly. Definitely a place we will be going back to to try some of the other menu items. read more

I chose breakfast for lunch. The best thing I can say is their sausage was delicious. Outside of that- it wasn't very good. The service was spotty, and the food (other than the sausage) was just ok. First time I brought a group of 8, food and service was great. Second time brought a group of 12 food was still good but the young blonde was very rude to some teenagers that were in my group. Summer.... summer.... My friend and my daughter, and I -we all took a trip to the Hiwassee River. It was amazing-rafting down the river... it took us 3 hours. Of course our appetite was so big too after water and fresh air. This diner was on our way home back to Chattanooga. We noticed this place on the way to the river since it has a big sign. The early dinner was amazing. We had fresh cat fish, it was a special that day. The fish was flaky and cooked right to my taste. The sides were good too with touch of home. The prices are so good. It was easy to chose. The dinner had many people in , I think local people love this place. We decided to stop there every time we go to the river. Stopped at GG's for lunch on Saturday with my husband on Harley and our friends with their huge RV - ample parking. Really good, made to order food and friendly service. Clean, cozy place. Loved the burgers, farm fresh eggs, grilled ham and cheese and big fluffy pancakes. Tater tots and fries are crispy and delicious. So far everything I've had at this local diner has been good. My only complaint is if you're going to prepare a wonderful burger with all the great flavors and quality go the extra mile and pair it with real French fries. I was looking forward to eating some fresh homemade fries and they were the frozen mushy ones. I really enjoyed my burger but huge disappointment when it came to the side. The staff are friendly. Located in a small town, it is a typical small local restaurant with a small counter and a room with a number of tables. It has off street parking and a small deck for a couple of outside seating. I was there on a Saturday afternoon on a motorcycle ride with some friends. We sat outside and it was a busy place with lots of locals coming and going. We did not get waited on but one of the guys riding knew the workers/owner so he got a pad and took our orders. The people/staff are friendly but the food was below par, at least what I had and one of the guys had. My burger was small and the bun was huge which was disappointing. Fries were just OK. The other guy with us had a pork chop and it was very thin and overcooked/tough. Oh yea, no alcohol; just saying. It may be a great place for locals so it is probably a good place based on the number of people coming and going but my experience was less than average so I have to give it a 2. read more

I had their cheeseburger with tater tots. The burger was, in a word, huge. It must have been 8 ounces, dressed just right and delicious. The tots were cooked just right, nice and crispy. With biscuits and gravy on the brain one dreary weekday morning, I head to this top-rated hole-in-the-wall. The quintessential diner setup excites a sucker for chintzy diners. Walk in and the first thing you see is a couple of chatty old men watching the news at a dining counter. Then you notice the hefty waitresses juggle orders in front of large stoves. Classic. The menu boasts a "cathead biscuit" - one so big it's the size of a cat's head. I order eggs and bacon with a cathead biscuit and gravy, then squirm impatiently in my stool, anticipating what is sure to be the southern diner breakfast of a lifetime. In no time my food arrives. Two large biscuits slathered with gravy, an egg fried to my liking and three strips of bacon share a plate. The egg and bacon are gravy, but the gravy is not. It is so thick and fatty that it's seconds away from congealing into a solid clump of lard. When cut in half, the biscuit reveals a uniform checker print of butter squares indicative of store-bought freezer biscuits. I could deal with this if the biscuits were tasty, but they are not. They are dense as bricks. Combined with the gravy, the result is a sure fire stomachache. If you find yourself in the area and in want of a good diner breakfast, maybe take a pass on Lottie's. read more

Hard to believe no place open on Saturday morning in Etowah to eat breakfast. (Sorry, don't like Waffle House due to all the grease). Drove to GG's and it was really good! I have been on the search for a month now for the best hamburger /cheeseburger in east tennessee. I have traveled far and wide on my motorcycle looking for this perticular meal. Still haven't found it. Lotties is a great place to eat. It's a older diner style environment with country garb on the walls. A very clean restaurant with super nice staff. Today as I was driving through Benton looking for the good junk stores and I thought, why not try Lotties. The menu showed they served crinkle fries on the pics and that already had me a happy man. When we walked in we were immediately bombarded with hello's and welcome to Lotties greetings. We were seated and the waitress wasted no time taking our orders. I had the double cheeseburger with fries and a cola. The wife had the single burger with fries and a drink. The order came within about 8 minutes which made me happy. Can't beat fast service.... The meat was thick and hand pattied. Fried on a flat diner griddle was a plus. When I took my first bite I was expecting fireworks to go off in my brain but sorry to say it was more like a scratched needle on a old record. The meat had NO seasoning and was just that. Plain tasting meat. UGh!!! I was very disappointed in the fries because they weren't crinkle fries like I had hoped for and seen in the menu pics. Just plain straight cut fries. The meal was good but a disappointment in a lot of ways. If I returned I wouldn't try the burger again. I give them 4 stars for the awesome atmosphere, kindness and clean business. Note to anyone that reads these post. They advertise a very hard to find Cat Head biscuit for breakfast. I will be returning for breakfast soon. I really hope with the Cat Head biscuit they serve a Red Eye Gravy. Haven't had Red Eye Gravy since my mom passes away in 2000. read more

Don't order a platter! The staff doesn't read the menu and know what all comes with a platter meal. After being given all of two seconds to read the menu, I ordered a cheeseburger platter. I received half of what it was supposed to come with and was then charged for each item I got individually rather than for the price of the platter meal. The atmosphere was loud and it was impossible to hold a conversation because of it. The waitress spoke to us and other customers from across the restaurant rather than walking back over to the table. The atmosphere here was rustic. Like, very rustic. It's sort of a trailer with a little dining room addition. Don't let that scare you away, the food is the honest American truth. Everybody in the place seemed to know each other and they all looked like they were on break from farming or building roads or something. They all made fun of each other. I took this to be a good sign. I got the pulled pork. It came in a massive mound. I bet there was a literal pound of it. I almost ate the whole thing and I'm usually a vegetarian. The sauce was good, but this is the pig's show and he made the best of his time in the spotlight. Rich, tender, delicious. I got the black-eyed peas and greens for sides. Biggest dang biscuits ever! The home town cafe is the place to go if you are hungry for breakfast. The egg, tenderloin and smothered biscuit was definitely more than one person could eat, as well as delicious. The coffee is good and free flowing. If you come before nine on a Saturday morning, you can find out all the news and gossip from the locals. The entire place seats around 25 people and everyone knows everyone.
