Awesome place for lunch!…read more This is the old Green Spot location and it's a good one. We always get the cheeseburger and side.....typically tater tots..... It is fast and delicious and VERY competitively priced at $10 per person. They are friendly and their meats are fresh and delicious! They also have a great selection of choice cuts of meats.....this is a classic butcher shop. And with all the ingredients and cooking components right there. Pretty delicious cup cakes too!

We ordered a Reuben and our hostess was gracious enough (without our asking!) to have it cut in half and served in separate baskets with 2 variety of pickles for each. The broccoli salad was delicious; made fresh with yellow & red peppers, red onion, and cauliflower. We enjoyed browsing the store seeing some interesting food & imported beverage items and sampling their homemade pimento cheeses. Be sure to check out their website & menu! We will stop again when we are in the Dalton area and come prepared with our cooler. We are already thinking this will make a great stop to pack a picnic when heading to Chattanooga for the Riverfront Nights this summer.

My wife and I visited Cyra's - Simple Goodness on Friday evening after attending the Day of the…read moreDead celebration at the Creative Arts Guild in Dalton. The food at the festival had been somewhat underwhelming, so we decided to find something a little more substantial. Having enjoyed Cyra's previously for my mother's birthday, we decided to give it another try. We arrived without a reservation, knowing the restaurant is generally quite busy. As we approached the entrance, one of the hostesses opened the door for us, which I thought was a particularly nice touch. Despite not having a reservation, the staff accommodated us almost immediately, seating us at a pleasant table near the center of the restaurant. The interior has a welcoming atmosphere, with high ceilings and architectural features that, at least to me, evoke the feeling of an old church sanctuary. There was a pleasant hum of conversation throughout the restaurant, and while the staff certainly seemed busy, everything appeared to move along at a comfortable, unhurried pace. Our server, Emma, was exceptional throughout the evening. She was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we enjoyed our meal. My wife ordered one of the restaurant's signature cocktails, a blood orange margarita, while I stayed with my usual iced water with lemon. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which arrived rather quickly and were served piping hot. They were very good. We also had house salads with the restaurant's honey mustard dressing. Although I'm not particularly fond of the variety of greens used in the salad, that's simply a matter of personal preference. The cucumbers, cheese, and bacon tucked toward the bottom were especially good, and I enjoyed the salad overall. For our entrées, I ordered the chargrilled ribeye, cooked medium, with heirloom carrots. My wife selected the red snapper, which was served with grits. I had mentioned to Emma that I particularly wanted my steak served very hot, and she made certain that request was communicated. When the steak arrived, she even asked me to cut into it to make sure it was prepared to my liking. That kind of attention to detail is something I appreciate, and unfortunately, it isn't always encountered in restaurants these days. What struck me most about the evening was how well everything seemed to come together. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming. The restaurant was clearly busy, but we never felt rushed or overlooked. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and a welcome respite from the usual pace of life. There was nothing particularly complicated about the experience, nor did there need to be. Good food, pleasant surroundings, attentive service, and an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening together. That, to me, is pretty much what a restaurant experience ought to be. A special thank-you to Emma for helping make our evening so enjoyable.

The appetizers are clever and super flavorful. We had the avocado fries and the French onion soup. And the last bite is as good as the first bite.
