Always a great experience at Gettysburg Bicycle & Fitness. Jessie and Parick as well as everyone who work there are examples of exceptional customer service, incredibly helpful and friendly. I would recommend anyone in south central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland who have any interest in bicycles or Fitness to drop in and see for yourselves. There are numerous bicycles for sale including for young children with any accessory you can think of. Even the 3 cute dogs there today were friendly. I particularly enjoyed Buddy, the muscular French Poodle, but I digress. I'm fairly certain that they have regular and e-bikes ( my favorite) for rent with which to visit the adjacent Gettysburg Battlefield. Please do stop in and see. A variety of bike racks are for sale, so you can strap your new purchase onto your vehicle if you choose. You won't be disappointed, I promise! read more

Gettysburg Bicycle - Inside on a late August Saturday morning - Bikes Near Me - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Nice friendly people. They were reasonably priced and helped me get the parts that I needed.

We were here on vacation to ride our bikes around the historical sites. On the first day here we got a nail in the tire that punctured the tube. The team at this store had us up and going in less than an hour. Very polite and professional!! read more

At the end of a bike tour one of the guys in the group popped his front tire. The GPS gave a seven minute ride to this bike shop. Everyone was hungry and thought we'd have to make a 40 min round trip to drop off and pick up the bike. The shop told him there was no need to leave and they'd have it done in five minutes. The repair was done faster than the cashier could check him out. He even adjusted his pedal. read more

I was looking for a bike that would be good for a renewed ex-biker. I have not ridden on a bike since high school (way too many years ago!) I investigated bikes online, at the "big box" stores and they were sold out or unreasonably priced. On a whim I called the Gettysburg bike shop and was told that all of the "novice" level bikes were sold and the bikes in the shop started at a price higher than I wanted to pay. As I was getting ready to give up, I heard someone say - what about the Schwinn? I was quoted a price that was very affordable, took the bike on a test drive and bought a few accessories that were installed on the spot. I am very pleased with the bike and great service! Thank you! read more

Gettysburg Bicycle - My bike! - Bikes Near Me - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Derick, the owner, was great to work with. I made my appointment and received reminders via text messages. My bicycle was ready when promised and he offered alternatives upon arrival if the one that I had chosen wasn't exactly (or rode) to my complete satisfaction. It was! read more

Headed to Gettysburg for a riding weekend with the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia when disaster struck as my wife's mountain bike somehow slipped off the rack on the Turnpike. At 70 miles per hour, a handlebar and grip grind down to a nub very quickly, and since it was my fault, looked like I was in for a very long weekend.... Gettysburg Bicycle and Fitness to the rescue! We were amazed by how quickly (and cheaply) Jes and crew replaced the handlebar, grips, reattached and realigned everything, and got us riding. I expected the bill to be twice what it was -- and doubted they would even have the right equipment in stock. Instead, the bike has upgraded handlebar and grips, and my wife's tears were turned to cheers. Win, win, marriage saved!! Thank you Gettysburg Bicycle and Fitness. read more

I come to Gettysburg each year for a summer conference and every year I have a problem with my bicycle. Every time I go to Gettysburg Bicycle I am treated very well. You get fast service and it is quite professional. Either the owner or one of the mechanics help me and fix the problem and often repair other issues. This year, my front wheel was wobbling and this problem was fixed very well. There were three separate issues that were resolved. I took a 13-mile bike ride last night and it went perfectly. My bike really sped right along. Thanks for great service. read more

Excellent service in time of need! Pedaled in when there was an issue w my back wheel, it wouldn't pedal intermittently. We are from out of town , didn't purchase bike here. They provided options and we decided to replace wheel , they had job done in 20 minutes even though they seemed busy in the service shop ! read more

I was biking the Battlefields and ran into a small issue with my derailleur. I walked in and they adjusted it on the spot. Great shop!

Awesome place. Super friendly staff! Popped in to have my headset adjusted and was in & out.

They are rude and not as knowledgeable as you would hope to be for owning a bike store. I could have easily gone to Walmart or Dicks but I wanted to support the local business after Covid-19. Thinking they would be happy to see customers. You could tell they were annoyed as new customers came to the line and into their parking lot. They were busy chatting with long time friends or maybe long time customers. Either way they weren't happy to be interrupted. read more

The people at Gettysburg Cyclist were very knowledgeable and friendly. I race on a mountain bike team and in my previous race my chain had come off six times. This was very frustrating, so I needed to get it checked out. I brought it in to Gettysburg, and they knew exactly what it needed. The next day I walked out with a new chain, cassette and a rebuilt fork. In my next race, my chain did not pop off, and I had a smooth race. read more

We stopped in to look and ended up buying. We returned and traded in my son's old bike and they treated us very fairly. Our most recent visit we traded in my wife's old bike and once again they treated us very well. We are not just around the corner we travel over an hour to purchase here but feel it is worth the drive. Very nice people to deal with, no high pressure, treat you well when you return and trade. You can tell they strive for repeat customers, and they have one in us! read more

If i could give a negative star i would. I took in a brand new bike the day after i received it to get gears and brakes checked and tires filled. $45 it cost but i had heard they would do a great job. The first time i rode my bike on the battlefield my gears kept slipping and chain kept falling off. Took the bike back and was treated with the most disrespect i have ever received as a customer. I was told by Kevin that i should have consulted with them before purchasing such a cheap bike and what did i expect. I told him he should speak nicer to his customers and he picked my bike up and took it outside, slammed the door and literally walked by me as if i didn't exist. I work in a very busy public place in Gettysburg and now tell people what happened and recommend they go elsewhere. read more

Have bought two bikes here this year. A Specialized Mountain bike and an electric bike for my wife. Couldn't be happier. A few weeks after riding my mountain bike it started missing shifts. Took it back without an appointment, they immediately took it in and replaced the parts needed without any charge. Have gone back twice without appointments and have been treated fairly and professionally. They took their time and insisted I ride several different bikes before purchasing. The same with my wife, they insisted she ride several electric bikes before we purchased. Highly recommend. Also took a cheap mountain bike there for a friend that had lost a pedal. They replaced the whole crank and pedals cheaper than I could order the parts off of Amazon. read more

We just purchased two Trek Marlin 5's for my wife and I. The shop seemed busy with a non stop flow of customers getting repairs the entire time I was there. We test rode about 5 bikes each with adjustments and different frames before we made a decision. Total we probably took from 1-2 hours before we purchased. All the staff was courteous and pleasant answering our question. I have been out of biking for a long time so I had a lot of questions about the current product lines. I would go back and have no issues recommending Gettysburg Bicycle to my friends. If you want quality and service shop local. read more

Spoke to Jes yesterday, 4/29/19, who left me a voicemail referencing that he wanted to "work things out." Instead, he name called and put down. "You're an idiot! Everyone knows this! Your review will be taken with a grain of salt." Well, Jes, maybe that's true, but I have a right to my opinion, and there are others out there with the same. Jes, you're trying to "work things out," don't call people a retard; they don't like it. Bait and switch that your business is built on is illegal, and I'll let the appropriate authorities know this exists in your business model. Be aware if you take your bike there, especially if you're a woman, they will try the bait and switch on you. This is 100% illegal, be careful!! SCAMMER ALERT!!! BAIT AND SWITCH!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! I told them I only wanted the tires to turn: No new gears, no nothing, just tires and a chain. The guy I worked with insisted I needed all this extra maintenance, new lines, new gears, new everything. I didn't want it. I finally agreed to the new lines, I did want working brakes, after all. I got charged $50 for grease and wiping the thing down, or a "Basic Tuneup." It had been sitting for 15 years, I didn't care. I got all new shifters; guy threw a shit fit when I told him I didn't want them. "They're only $15!!!" I don't care. I don't want them. If the wheels will turn without them, take them off. I take a spin around the block, and notice a few things right away: The chain is clicking and skipping incessantly. Another guy adjusted the clicking. Every time I sat on the seat, it fell straight through. Luckily, I was able to discern that there was a bolt that needed replacement; it cost me $2, which should have been easily located and replaced during a basic tuneup. Gettysburg Bicycle would have cost me significantly more. The chain is still jumping. For $200, I expect better. Bike tires: $35; Labor to install bike tires, $50. General Tuneup which didn't really tune anything up, $50. Would not recommend. Will not be back. read more

While there are many ways to see Gettysburg National Military Park, I wanted to do so by bike. This place offers rentals and the entire experience was great. The cost was incredibly reasonable and the uprights we rented were well maintained. A lock was included so we could stop along the way. You can also rent bikes inside the park, but if you're staying in the city this place is the way to go. One tip: backpacks are not allowed inside the park's visitor's center (the museum, the food court, the friggen gift shop and of most importance, bathrooms) and as far as we could tell there were no lockers - so pack light if you're biking in. Almost made me wish I had a fanny pack. Almost. read more

We rented two bikes from them to tour the battlefield and it worked out really well. The staff was extremely friendly and laid back, and the bikes were pretty decent (Treks) and in good working order. They provided a lock and offered helmets, too. I think it was ~$30/bike for the whole day, which I thought was pretty fair. Would definitely recommend renting from here if you want to bike the battlefield. I can't say anything about their prices, but if I lived nearby I would probably take my bike here fore maintenance just based on how friendly they were. read more

Been going here for years. They are extremely knowledgeable, have great brands, and know how to fix bikes. I believe they also have rentals for touring the battlefields. read more

Was visiting the battlefield and had just given my Mountain Bike to my son in DC. Was interested in buying and they were patient with my questions regarding hybrids. Ended up renting a bike for the day. The bike was in great shape and served me well. I would recommend this place. read more

I purchased a Specialized Sirrus Elite in May 2011. Staff always treats my bike like it was one of their own. Yes, I could purchase accessories and have routine maintenance performed a lot closer to home but, it's worth the 30 minute drive up US 15N to deal with Jes, Kent, and Nate - excellent service! read more

I got a flat tire while biking the "auto tour" earlier this week. I usually carry a spare and a pump, but for some reason, I opted to ride with no back-ups. In addition to this mistake, I also left my car with no money. 6 miles into my ride, I ran over a pebble and punctured my front tire. Thankfully Gettysburg Bicycle was (somewhat) close by. When I got to the shop, I wasn't sure how to pay, but I thought I'd try Apple Pay. To my pleasant surprise, they had just set up the system, and I was the first customer to use it. The nice young bike mechanic installed the tube for me, and I was back on the road to continue my ride. Thanks guys for the assistance. Flats suck, but our shop doesn't! read more

Was looking for a bike & had heard Jes & the crew at Gettysburg Bicycle was the place to go. Had looked other places but just knew this was the right fit. They helped me to choose the bike based on what I wanted it for & within my price range. Fortunately, their knowledge kept me from purchasing a 'lemon' elsewhere. Had talked to someone who used them for servicing & that was an interested of mine as well. They service all bikes & I am grateful to have them in my home town. Customer service goes a long way! Thanks Jes read more

I bought a Trek 2.1 road bike from here. Great customer service and very good price. They took the time to answer all my questions with a smile. read more

This was the most pleasant experience for out of town road bikers like us! The nice guy in the shop gave us a free map and created three road loops for us. We returned shortly to replace a computer magnet and he was eager to offer friendly, fast assistance. We wish every bike shop was so eager and friendly. read more

I rolled into town with some buddies, looking to ride the many trails in Michaux but online information on that trail system is severely lacking. The guys at Gettysburg Bicycle & Fitness couldn't have been more helpful- going over maps in detail with us, pointing out the trails that fit what we were looking for. And they did this with great enthusiasm and friendliness. On day 2 we stopped in again with a mechanical problem and we got fixed up super fast and got more trail pointers. And yup, 3 days of riding in a row- we stopped in on Day 3 and said thanks and stocked up on energy bars and more recommendations! Big thanks to all the guys there. read more
