Our tour!

My fiancé and I had a wonderful time on our bike tour! Our guide, Bob, was absolutely fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable and brought the battles to life through his explanations! He kept everyone highly engaged, and we learned so much! I would highly recommend this bike tour for your Gettysburg trip!

Bruce was our tour guide on Saturday. He was very knowledgeable of the battle and answered all of the questions that I had. This is the best way to see the battlefield and really get an excellent sense of the topography of the whole field.

Wow! On a whim, my wife and I decided to walk over to Getty Peds to see if we could rent e-bikes…read morefor a couple hours to tour the battlefields. We were greeted by the owner who gave us the rundown of the bikes and helped us plan our voyage around a few of the site we were most interested in. The. Bikes. Were. Amazing. Everyone we passed along the way was envious of our superior transportation and ease of access to all the sites and scenery of the battlefield. As we neared the end of our journey, a torrential downpour began and we were forced to shelter under the Pennsylvania monument. With a minute of the rain starting, Getty Peds called me to make sure we were okay and said they were on their way to pick us up to ensure we made it back to town safely! If you're interested in a fun adventure and excellent customer service in Gettysburg, look no further than Getty Peds. My wife and I had so much fun, we may rent the bikes again tomorrow to continue our adventure!

I had very few options left and adding severe weather in the forecast, I was totally stressed out as I attempted to make last minute reservations. Fortunately, everything turned for the better on the day of the event. My desired time slot became available, and the weather held up. Every staff was friendly, professional, patient and helpful. After signing the waivers and watching the instructional video, we were assigned a personal trainer and went through the indoor training course for about 30 minutes. After everyone passed the training, we were then equipped with audio receivers and ear pieces, so we can hear from our guide, Buddy, loud and clear throughout the 4.2 mile ride. I think any and all tours anywhere should be equipped with such technology. Normally I had trouble hearing in a group tour, but not today!!! Buddy was a perfect guide. He knew everyone's name; he kept everyone's attention; and he took care of everyone. We were also given bottles of water, string cheese, and candy bars. Since we were prohibited to take pictures while on the Segway, he took pictures of everyone and posted on Flickr so we can download our pictures for free. The Segway PT was a joy to ride on. Each is aptly named after a civil war horse. Mine was called "Faugh-a-Ballagh" (after a war-cry meaning "clear the way!"). The group size of 8 was just the right size. I had a blast. And I can't wait to bring my family when my son turns 14, the minimum required age. SegTours should be on everyone's bucket list, and the historic Gettysburg where you can view hundreds of monuments is one perfect place to do it!

Once again spent the Veterans Day holiday weekend with friends at our beloved Keystone Inn. (This…read moretime I stayed in the General Reynolds Room for the first time. I fully recommend the three-floor climb to walk off some calories from the delicious breakfasts!) Speaking of, innkeepers Carrie and Olivia took great care of us. We were even lucky enough to interact with Co-owner Christine Cambell who was also there for the weekend. (If she's there with you, pick her brain!!! She knows everything Gettysburg and is a most gracious hostess.) The property is very well thought out and appointed. While preserving lots of the look and feel of times gone by, it also affords guests with every modern convenience! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a wonderful retreat in one of our nation's most historic cities. You won't regret it. A. Clyde

The Inn is an absolutely gorgeous building, beautifully furnished, and our room (The Basil Biggs…read moreRoom) had its own balcony and a luxurious king-sized bed and a sofa for sitting and reading. The location is good. The breakfasts were uneven: one outstanding, one pretty awful (a cold Egg McMuffin and cottage cheese?), and one so-so. But perhaps they had a new or temporary cook, because other reviewers did not seem to find this to be the case. We did not find a book in our room with information? Instructions on operating the thermostat would have been helpful, as it got quite cold the third night. Parking is very generous. All in all, we would return, as this was definitely the nicest of the three B&Bs in which I have stayed in Gettysburg.
