Tour Guide Sam keeping group focused for paranormal activities!

Fantastic Ghost Tour. We were assigned Tour Guide Sam. At first we believed Sam would not have been able to provide a satisfactory tour. Well, we were all wrong. Sam was an expert he was able to answer all questions w so much passion and confidence. Sam was able to lead, educate and guide us as tourest safely with the heavy traffic on the 4th of July. Tour Guide Sam was able to assist one customer who had a physical disability with walking and making sure the customer was treated fairly and able to gain the same Tour education as others. There was actually another ghost tour company with a second group with tour guide Mark and some of that group was standing in roadway. Sam quickly directed both vehicles and that tour group to remain safe. Highly recommend this tour. And tour group guide Safe Super Sam.

Email thread with the tour company. Time stamps are off due to traveling across time zones.

We were stood up, and now the company is gaslighting me and ignoring my requests for a refund. This company is a scam, and the other tour guides in Gettysburg have all heard negative things about them. I'm sure if a tour guide actually shows up it's probably great, but based on the reviews it's hit or miss whether a tour guide will show up. This company is also much more expensive than the other ghost tours in Gettysburg. Details: We booked a tour, and were told to be at a specific address at 7:45pm for an 8pm tour (the business name was included, so I know we were at the right location). We were there (along with several other folks) from 7:45-8:20, and wandering around the nearby area trying to find someone from this company from 8:20-8:30. No tour guide ever showed up, and there was no way to call anyone. Every number associated with this company gives you an automated message telling you to email. We emailed while waiting, and finally got a response around 9pm telling us we had missed the tour, it had started on time, the tour guide had tried to contact us, and we could rebook for a $20 rebooking fee if we'd like. No tour guide ever tried to contact me or any of the other folks waiting either by email or phone/text. Every time I responded in the email thread I was contacted by a different person who told me the same thing ("The tour started at 8, you missed it, you can rebook if you pay us more").

Possibly where some of the over 9,000 missing soldiers might be buried.

The horses were wonderfully well behaved. The tour guide was knowledgeable and easy to engage. The tour guide informed us that this is a female owned business and is highly ethical. The pros: The staff is awesome. They get 6 stars. They did a great job explaining safety and how to handle the horse. This is extremely helpful for those with no riding experience. They provide helmets and a radio receiver with an earbud to listen to some canned recording explaining some background of personnel, battles, and music. You get to ride right next to some historic buildings and farmhouses that you wouldn't be able to on a road or bus tour. The cons: Unless you get a certified guide, they are not allowed to narrate the history of the battle as you ride along the trail. We did not have a guide along with our group for the ride so it was fairly quiet most of the ride. Unless you are very well versed with the locations of the army units and battle locations, the ride might be a bit confusing. If you can tie this into the end of a visit to Gettysburg with the museum, film, bus or car tour, then it will be a blast.

Gettysburg Railway - A most relaxing ride!

We registered online the day before, the price being $27 per person regardless of age. Our excursion departure was 12:30 pm and arrived at approximately 12:10. I'd advise arriving earlier because all the parking spots were taken save for the handicapped spaces, this we parked in a Gettysburg College lot. I printed out our receipt which I don't think was necessary since they already had who had purchased a ticket. Fortunately there was one 4 person seat left, 2 facing the front, and 2 facing the rear. The seats were most comfortable and everything was spotless. The children were offered a coloring book and a riny box of crayons. The announcements were amply loud, the problem being that we couod not hear our car guide making announcements, particularly because she stood in the front of rather than the center of the spacious and long car. Music played along with a prerecorded commentary for the majority of the trip. A very small portion went through the Battlefield as it traveled west for about a quarter mile and the went north up the east side of Oak Ridge with a brief view of the Peace Memorial. From there it was a peaceful ride through the Adams County countryside. We saw horses, cows, a snapping turtle, and a variety of birds. The train stopped for 5 to 10 minutes and then traveled in reverse on the same route, the entire trip taking about 90 minutes. I would recommend this for all adults although our 2 grandkids, aged 4 and 6, we're more interested in visiting the concession car which served soft pretzels with cheese, nachos, and gummy bears. Our car representative mentioned that they were considering adding ghost rides, wine tasting rides, and murder mystery rides. I enjoyed it much!

Terry and her team are very welcoming and super knowledgeable on the history of Gettysburg and the horses. You can tell the staff cares and loves all the horses that they work with. They knew all of their quirks and past history. All these horses are rescued and it is so amazing to have the opportunity to contribute to this organization and ride a horse who has been built up by this amazing caring team. I had the pleasure of riding Gus who is an ex Amish work horse and the gentlest giant. Terry is truly so kind, accommodating, and very educated about the history of the battlefield and her horses. Her story telling was great and I could picture everything happening as Terry was explaining it to us. Terry also gave us the confidence to mount and ride our horses through the trails and how to properly handle them. The views were amazing and we had a great view of the blue ridge mountains in sight. We also had the pleasure of a nice breeze brushing through the peaceful battlefields as we rode the very tidy and well kept trails. If I could do this everyday I would and I'm so thankful to Terry and her team for giving my sister and I this experience to always look back on and remember. If you're looking for something to do in Gettysburg don't miss out on this horse tour, not only will you have a great experience but you'd be supporting a fantastic team and all that they work so hard for. Thank you for having us Terry and we will definitely be back!

These people are exceptional because they have rescued the horses and they literally teach you about horses so you can be a very comfortable rider (how to read their ear cues, why they stop, how to bond with them) even if you never ridden before. The horses were all well trained and even tempered so don't worry if you are taking the kids, they will love it. The history that you see and hear is amazing and would be impossible to do by yourself in a car. They really explained what the families who lived in the farms went through as well as the soldiers, doctors, officers and battlefield horses. It really was the best way to see and learn about the Gettysburg battlegrounds. I really can't say enough good things about the experience. If you can get a spot, you're lucky!

These guides are highly trained and specialized and insanely knowledgeable- we had excellent discussion and so much in depth learning about the battlefield as we trotted along. The carriage is Victorian style and very comfortable- and ours was pulled by two gorgeous Percheron mares, Kate and Trina - sisters!! They were so beautiful and so sweet! Sarah and Bogey (sp??) were our our drivers and they were so great to the horses and very skilled at handling anything that came up. Our guide was Chris and he was just incredible- I'd be shocked if there was anything he didn't know about Gettysburg lol!! Even his ancestors were part of the battle! Not only did he provide tons of info about the ins and outs of the battle, but he also dropped fun little pearls of trivia along the way - things like how the shapes of certain monument bases have different meanings and how the "avenues" were put in for tourists lol!! The guides have to pass a rigorous learning/testing regime to even be able to do the tours so you know they know their stuff! The tour is totally fun - but also treated with the utmost respect for the gravity of the subject - so many lives lost - such a tragic and heavy piece of history. I strongly urge anyone to take a guided tour on your visit - interacting with such knowledgeable guides really helps get a better understanding of the battle and the core issues etc. The tour starts in town at the Gettysburg Heritage Center - very easy to find and plenty of parking. They pick you up in the carriage right out front and off you go! The tour lasts around 2 hours and they let you interact with the horses afterwards if you want! Can't recommend it enough!!
